Fantastic experience! Delicious meals. There were four of us and we had the chicken fried steak and the ribeye hot brew mess skillet and the cinnamon French toast. Each dish was really amazing. Then we got reaquainted with Cherie, the owner. We met her at her restaurant about 2 years ago and she remembered us! Very hospitable. Let's start with the service, very friendly, warm welcome greeted right away, we missed the rush still plenty of business. Owner was there greeting everyone when they came in or after they were seated. Good atmosphere wasnt loud, you could hear the waitress when asked questions. I had heard Hot Brew was dog friendly so we decided to give it a try today with our dog. The staff was incredible with her and with us. By far the best service and prices in Humboldt, especially for including dogs. The owner even took the poop bag to throw away for us. We will definitely be back. read more

The deli sandwich had too much mayo and the veggie one despite a good mixture of ingredients, favored the lettuce heavily. The owner is terrible. I think she's the owner there is no way a worker would act that way. Pouring tequila in people mouths, yelling, touching people without consent. On a Sunday at 2pm... She was CLEARLY hammered and pressuring me(underage) and my friend to drink(and mocking us when we declined). She reminds me of someone with a drinking problem. Just...terrible. Love, love, love this place and all the staff! They treat their customers like gold. Food is always very fresh and comes out relatively quick even when they're busy. Their specials are always good and their staple classics are always spot on. It's definitely my breakfast spot of choice for their variety. First, I LOVE this place, and so will you! The food is always consistently delicious with large portions . Today there were 8 of us that showed up without reservations. I heard one of the servers talking to a table about they have a new cook and what did they think. She never came over and asked me I would've told her The cook is a little heavy handed with the pepper, and my hashbrowns were soggy with I believe too much oil and the cheese on my omelette/inside was not even melted. Super pet friendly restaurant! Dogs have a special seating area outside on the patio. The staff brought special treats and water for our dog. We ate breakfast at this adorable restaurant two times during our stay in Fortuna. Meals are big enough to share and they were delicious on both visits. We had very minimal waits for anything. To: sue I'm an employee at hot brew and normally would never reply and dismiss something so trite, but your delusional elaboration of false accusations needs to be addressed...again.#1 you said you're service was great, now it changes to you had to refill your own drinks? #2 we have one bathroom, and one key to that bathroom. While you were berating the server over this bathroom scenario another employee was already at the bathroom door letting your friend in with the ONLY KEY WE HAVE. So what did you expect that server to do for you that wasn't already being done? Which she kindly explained to you and NEVER dismissed you and said I have other priorities. Your friend got the door unlocked which we didn't lock by the way and used the bathroom and you were heard as well. But that clearly wasn't enough for some reason. So then today you show up and tell the owner give me money or I'll write a yelp review crucifying you unless you give me money back. So with that being said I the employee NOT the owner stood up for her and said " you are not going to blackmail her into paying you." Never mentioned bribing because what you were doing was simply extortion. But you kept throwing your tantrum with no resolution and that's when you were asked to leave, which by the way was all caught on camera with audio this afternoon. Anyone who knows the owner knows she bends over BACKWARDS to make sure her customers are happy to a fault. I don't know what you hoped to gain by habitually lying and attacking a hard working and single mother who is a well established local business owner, but I don't think you're going to find that validation on this platform.
