I had the HOT MESS, with turkey sausage...First it's big enough for two, honest! Lots of scrambled eggs and sausage (your choice) and cheese (your choice). Served very hot on a skillet. Coffee was fresh, hot and kept coming. Very busy, but friendly helpful staff. It started to empty out around 1 pm. Got quiet and didn't have to holler to hear each other. I had heard Hot Brew was dog friendly so we decided to give it a try today with our dog. The staff was incredible with her and with us. The staff was friendly and welcoming, but more than half of them had their masks down or had removed them entirely. The sandwiches were pretty good, but could have been better balanced. The deli sandwich had too much mayo and the veggie one despite a good mixture of ingredients, favored the lettuce heavily. First, I LOVE this place, and so will you! The food is always consistently delicious with large portions . Today there were 8 of us that showed up without reservations. (Note to self, make reservations!) The place was packed and the staff effortlessly put some tables together for us. I ordered a cup of her clam chowder and it was fantastic ! My husband and I both ordered the hot brew combos, which came with a choice of eggs (any style), bacon or sausage, and a choice of a half stack of pancakes or a full order of french toast. I was craving chicken fried steak. My late breakfast hit the spot. The portion of the steak was massive. I was hungry and was only able to eat half! The eggs were cooked perfectly and the home fries were well seasoned. I have never had chicken fried steak I could cut with a fork. The meat was extremely well seasoned and the batter was crispy. To: sue I'm an employee at hot brew and normally would never reply and dismiss something so trite, but your delusional elaboration of false accusations needs to be addressed...again.#1 you said you're service was great, now it changes to you had to refill your own drinks? #2 we have one bathroom, and one key to that bathroom. While you were berating the server over this bathroom scenario another employee was already at the bathroom door letting your friend in with the ONLY KEY WE HAVE. So what did you expect that server to do for you that wasn't already being done? Which she kindly explained to you and NEVER dismissed you and said I have other priorities. Your friend got the door unlocked which we didn't lock by the way and used the bathroom and you were heard as well. But that clearly wasn't enough for some reason. So then today you show up and tell the owner give me money or I'll write a yelp review crucifying you unless you give me money back. So with that being said I the employee NOT the owner stood up for her and said " you are not going to blackmail her into paying you." Never mentioned bribing because what you were doing was simply extortion. But you kept throwing your tantrum with no resolution and that's when you were asked to leave, which by the way was all caught on camera with audio this afternoon. Anyone who knows the owner knows she bends over BACKWARDS to make sure her customers are happy to a fault. My friends and I had lunch there last Sunday. We sat outside. After a good long wait, one of us got up to get menus. Finally, the server came. She had tables inside and out and was out of breath. She took our order but never brought the water we asked for. When our drinks were empty we had to take our glasses't d inside to get refills. We had a very long wait for food and she apologized. We asked for ranch dressing and it never came. Again, I had to go in and get it. Then I went to use the bathroom. It was locked and I waited about five minutes and finally gave up. My friend is much older than me and disabled. It is a very long walk behind the counter and down a long walkway. The door was still locked. I knocked on it and no one answered. My friend and I were panicking. She was afraid she was going to wet her pants. I ran back into the restauant and told the first server I saw that we needed the key to the bathroom and that my friend was going to pee her pants. The server told me that she "HAD OTHER PRIORITIES" My heart was racing. I saw another server and ran to her. She said "Where is the key?" Finally, a third server got the key and went down to open the door. It was terrible. I was nearly crying. The server who ignored my request and said she had other priorities was the manager. I quietly walked up to her and whispered in her ear "one day you will be 80 and you will remember this." Today I made a special trip to talk to the owner. Before I could get two words out she claimed to have watched the whole thing on video and that they didn't do anything wrong. She kept interrupting me and was not at all interested in what I had to say. She said "When you are at a GAS STATION and there is only one bathroom, you have to wait. It isn't our fault if the door gets locked by a customer. In fact, it is her fault. As the owner, it is her responsibilty to have a lock on the door that doesn't get inadvertently locked. It's also her responsibility to make sure that her manager doesn't behave in such a dehuminizing way. If you are disabled. If you need to use a bathroom. Don't go here. If I can keep just one person from patronizing this place it will have been worth it to have been yelled at and demeaned by her and her staff. At one point she asked me very curtly "What do you want?" I held out my receipt and said "A REFUND" Of course she refused and she ordered me off the premises. An owner who will not listen to a rightly aggrieved customer is beyond me. I still can't believe how I was treated first by her manager, the rudest and least compassionate person I have ever had the misfortune to meet. And just a few hours ago, I was mistreated again by her. She accused me of attempting to bribe her. All I wanted was for her to care. Seniors wishing to converse know that this place is so loud as to be painful, thus the reason we were sitting outside. Nothing she can do about that, but this is not a GAS STATION. Patrons deserve better. She may try to wiggle out of this by claiming I was rude. She perhaps doesn't know the difference between rude and panicked. I never rose my voice and today I could hardly speak. I kept asking her if I could finish and she wouldn't let me. She says EVERYONE knows what a good person she is. No mam, you are not a good person. A good person, a kind person, would have been horrified by what I went through at your business. A good person would fix the problem so it never happens again. You, like your business, are mediocre at best. read more

The local feel when you come into this establishment is warm and friendly. The food is fresh and cooked to order. My son enjoyed the Philly cheesesteak and said it was excellent. Super pet friendly restaurant! Dogs have a special seating area outside on the patio. The staff brought special treats and water for our dog. We ate breakfast at this adorable restaurant two times during our stay in Fortuna. Meals are big enough to share and they were delicious on both visits. We had very minimal waits for anything.
