I'm so glad I didn't have breakfast in Eureka and came across this gem. As soon as I walked in I was greeted, and staff was attentive. I ordered the Classic Benedict's with county potatoes. To be honest I'm always disappointed by country potatoes elsewhere, but not here! They were well seasoned, the touch of rosemary, the fresh diced peppers and onions made them the best county potatoes I've ever had. I mentioned to the waitress that it was such a good breakfast and my complete admiration for the country potatoes lol she said the cook only uses fresh produce and hand cuts it all. Well, Kudos to him and his hard work is appreciated, you can taste the difference

Happy customers!

The service was awesome Marisela was our server and she was pleasant. The food was also amazing a turkey mushroom soup to die for and the burger Let me tell you about that grass fed beef, You can tell it's grass fed. It's amazing. We also had an all meet omelette believe me they are not shy with the meat. The salad was , great it even came with a beautiful nasturtium, flower right on top love to eat flowers thank you so much Fernbridge cafe.

Ground Beef Hash

This quaint cafe has all the comfort of small-town environment decor and feels with big portions of flavorful home-cooked foods...the latter helping to make you feel as if you're getting your money's worth with today's exorbitant costs (this is intended to be a pro for the restaurant, not to imply their pricing is exorbitant - I'm only referring to the cost of things in general these days). Their coffee selection sets them apart from most cafes - they also offer a selection of espressos, lattes & teas. As a chai tea latte snob, I can vouch for theirs - spice in the right places, not watered down, and filled to the brim. I got the Ground Beef Hash and it was most filling and delicious. Not a fan of feta cheese, I'm a little shy of fancy sounding cheese or gouda so the Rumiano Smoked Gouda had me concerned; however, I was delightfully surprised and can now sound like I know my fancy cheese "real gouda" when I ask for it instead of feta. (Yes, intentionally cheesy.) We were there around lunch on a Friday and were only one of a few customers at the time. Though parking is right in front, it is limited so if more than a few tables are filled you may have to park down the street a ways.

Fernbridge Cafe serves up a small but vibrant menu of breakfast, brunch, and lunch faire highlighting some of the great bounty Humboldt has to offer. Humboldt Bay Coffee, Rumiano Cheese, Bear River Band Beef, Foggy Bottoms Boys Eggs, and more. Why this place isn't packed to the gills every day is beyond me. Sure, the staff is super small... usually just the owner, the chef, and occasionally one other. It's worth the wait if they're busy. Just relax and enjoy great coffee and a unique farm store ambience that plays to the legacy of place. A true gem, and in my honest opinion the best chicken fried steak in the Emerald Triangle if not the state!

Ridgetop Hash with side of gravy! Wow!

Local gem here, I'm hesitant to write this for fear that all the readers will crowd this place, but they so deserve it. Imagine a lonely highway town in heartland Farmville, where the people are connected to the land and the cattle. The farmhouse decor sets you in a place where it just feels like you belong, right here, right now. You are warmly greeted and the sounds of old Americana permeate the Cafe. The smell of delicious food wafts as you walk in, breakfast, coffee, bacon, fills the air. This idea embodies the ridgetop Cafe. Just off the 101 highway, a hop skip and a jump from old Ferndale, just come in, settle down and prepare to be surprised. At what you may ask? Well this is no average rural breakfast joint. Currently only open on the weekends, this place serves up some of the very best breakfast selections in the near 25 miles. They have mimosas and bloody marys(soju) and it's all delicious.. everything here is delicious. Did I mention the connection to the land and the cattle above? Well these folks have their own beef, and they put it on a lot of dishes, it's local, homegrown, flavorful, and fabulous... The prowess of the chef and the courtesy if the owner and her staff are impeccable. Stop by on your next trip out, or on your way to somewhere... you will be pleasantly surprised and you will leave satisfied... Well done Ridgetop! Cheers

Not too busy.

Old style diner with old style menu offerings. Service car was good with friendly, chatty waitresses. Our breakfast was cooked nicely but took longer then expected given were only 2 other tables in the place. My husband enjoyed his ham and eggs with country potatoes. The eggs Benedict was cooked well with the eggs nice and soft. But for me, there was a bit too much dried mustard in the sauce. All in all, a good country restaurant with consistently good food.

Country fried steak, country potatoes, wheat toast, over easy egg

I ordered the chicken fried steak with country fried potatoes, over easy eggs and wheat toast. The chicken fried steak was cooked to perfection. Had a great crisp to it and still had a great portion of meat. The sauce for myself was a highlight. It was very tasteful sauce that was filled with a ton of flavor. The potato's had a good crunch and soft inside and also was served with some veggies. The eggs were cooked well and the toast complimented the whole meal. The service was very helpful and gave some great recommendations. This seemed like the place to be as people were coming in and out of this place. The ambiance was beautiful and gives this old school home feel. Great place to come and try.

This place really needs to get their staffing squared away. They need a busboy to help. We left. Saturday am. Amateur hour in there.

We had dinner here the first night and got their special salmon, fried avocado, and fried mozzarella. The salmon was super moist and flavorful. The fried avocado was the biggest hit for the table. The avocado was ripe and breaded and fried to perfection. We had some fried mozzarella sticks with a good cheese pull, while others were not that great. We also had breakfast here the next morning. I got the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were not dry, which I really appreciated. It was a lot of food with not much variety in flavor to eat for an entire meal. I'd definitely recommend splitting this with the group. There is a different price with the casino players card + you're given coupons everyday for breakfast. While the restaurant is spacious, there weren't enough workers to open up the entire restaurant. I'd definitely recommend getting here early if you want to be seated in the first group of customers. Service was excellent at both meals!

It took them 15 minutes to bring us water. It took 3 people 2 hours to eat dinner. The food was pretty good. We loved the deep fried avocado. After dinner, we sat at the bar next to the restaurant an the girl walked behind the bar 3 times and didn't say a word to us and we finally left after sitting there 20 minutes waiting to get a drink. Again, I don't say this lightly...this was the worst service I have ever had at any restaurant I have ever been to. The food is good but just not worth the terrible service and prices. They have a great Mexican restaurant, that is much cheaper, at the other end of the casino. Don't waste your time here.

It's perfect for date nights or family dinners. Service was amazing, we had Emma and Matt, between them both we were taken care of from all angles. The food was pretty delicious , I got their chicken artichoke... the sauce was amazing, the chicken was tender, the shrimp was delicious. My wife got the eggplant parmigiana, she absolutely love the eggplant and but she said the sauce and the pasta was ok. She did enjoy it overall. We closed it all off with their Colombian coffee creme brulee. The flavors were there but the custard did not sit appropriately... so it was a little more liquid and warm. The flavors were there so we enjoyed it. We love the heart that Smalls has in its ambitious nature and know they will only grow from here. If we lived in the area this would probably be a regular for us to go to. It seems like the chef loves to try new things and have new specials so you just can't go wrong with that.

It was a little early for dinner (4:30ish) and aside from two women sitting together, we had the place to ourselves. The vibe is cool. Hardwood floors, huge vintage bar, nice lighting. We were greeted nicely by a server who said we could sit anywhere. He brought us menus and took my husbands drink order, a Manhattan. I hadn't really decided what I wanted yet so I asked for a few minutes. Once the server returned to the bar, he asked me to come let him know what I'd decided to drink because walking around to the tables was "hard". I politely shouted to him over at the bar that I'd like a glass of white wine. He brought my husband's manhattan and spilled nearly half of it on the floor and on our table. No apology or offer to wipe it up, just used his apron to dry his own hands. I asked what a particular sauce was on their steak dish to which he replied, "you know, I'm not even sure". Since he didn't offer to find out, I googled it instead. My husband decided on their fried chicken sandwich and I went with the smash burger. The food was really great. My husband said his chicken sandwich was one of the best he's had. Perfectly fried and seasoned batter, good level of spice. My burger was cooked just like a smash burger should be and the fries were delicious. Despite the strange service (though there was another older lady who was very sweet), we liked the vibe of the place and really thought the food was noteworthy.

I found this restauraunt on Yelp and we reserved it for my birthday dinner on a Saturday night. We sat by the window and had a beautiful view of the sunset and bay. Upon being seated we were served some bread with some whipped butter mixed with some sort of seafood I believed? I forgot, but the butter was delicious. Our first round of bread however, was average at best and was very dense and doughy. The next rounds of bread were significantly better though, so maybe there's an inconsistency with the way they bake their bread in-house. I ordered the seafood penne pasta and my boyfriend ordered the king salmon with risotto. Both were "specials" and were not on the menu. However after digging into reviews here, it seems they are not so much specials since both dishes have been served here for the past 7ish years. Seafood penne pasta: I would rate a 3/5, maybe a 2.5/5. The pasta itself was not al dente which was disappointing. The "star" of this dish was supposed to be the scallop, which was severely undercooked! It was super soft and mushy. The shrimp was alright...some were overcooked. The salmon was also dry. I think the only thing I really enjoyed was the mussels, clams, and the sauce. The sauce had some curry with a small kick to it. This dish was just okay. Escargot: We ordered as our appetizer, I'd give it a 3.5/5! The escargot was a little soft but paired wonderfully with the bread. Creme brûlée: 3/5. Our waitress kindly put a birthday candle on it for my birthday. :) I enjoyed it, and it was very custardy! The downside was that the sugar on top was too burnt. I can't speak much for my boyfriend's dish, I did have a bite of his salmon and it was alright, maybe a bit too salty. The service however was wonderful and our waitress was super kind and helpful. Maybe I would come back to try another dish if I'm back in the area.
