We love coming to The Boardroom! The atmosphere is beautiful and feels both Victorian and modern at the same time. It's bright & sunny with great views of the charming main street. It's a wonderful place for a leisurely lunch date. Service is nice (order at the counter but you don't need to pick up your food or clear your table), and the food is delicious. Since things are made meticulously in-house, prices can be high... but then again, prices are high most good places these days! I have never left here disappointed. read more

Very disappointed that hours are so limited and they close often for events and or catering jobs. Beware if you purchase a gift card from there, you may have a hard time actually using it. I have made the 4+ hour drive twice in the past six months to use the gift card and both times they were closed (even though their hours on Yelp said they were open). Messaged the restaurant twice to see if anything can be done with this unused gift card and I have had no response. read more

So lets start off with the goods. The place seems pretty nice and the staff is friendly and attentive. They also seem to have live entertainment every night....but thats where the good ends. I order a pulled pork sandwich which came with coleslaw and my wife order their soup, which was some sort of bacon and corn creation, and a side salad. The pork sandwich meat tasted like it was some frozen affair that they got at a Costco or someplace like that....pre-packaged meat. The coleslaw was completely tasteless which was a shame as the slaw part was pretty nice but who can eat something tasteless. My wife's salad obviously came out of a bag and was never checked. There was wilted and bad pieces of lettuce which made eating it unappealing. The soup tasted like a loaded back potato soup from Campbells with some bacon and canned corn (with the packaged corn juice) just thrown in. It was runny and just horrible. We let the staff know and they very nicely brought my wife a cheeseburger. How could you go wrong? The burger was cooked correctly but had no seasoning and was also something that came from the local frozen aisle. We left half the meal and walked down to the Ferndale Pizza sopt and got a nice medium pizza which cost the same as our horrible dinner. Save your self the trouble. Just go to the pizza or burger spot to get a decent meal. read more

Run. One star is too generous. Everyone at our table had received their meals (except my mother). I gave them 5 minutes. Approached the counter and was told her meal was just now being plated. 5 minutes later, I went back, and this time, all eye contact was avoided and "ken" who was sitting at the bar, was summoned to the prep area. With backs turned, there was a conference of sorts. After standing there patiently being completely ignored, I finally spoke up, requesting help. No longer able to ignore me, "ken" approached and asked me again what I was waiting for and then proceeded to tell me that "there's a lot of people" to which I said, "I don't care, don't take my money then. My mom has been waiting 10 minutes after everyone else's plates arrived." I further explained that this is why I don't tip in advance anymore and why I leave bad reviews." In response, "Ken" actually laughed dismissively which is another reason why I feel obligated to share my experience. He said it will be "ready when it's ready." My final words to him were, "Oh, OK... whenever YOU want to serve us will be OK with me." All told, my mom's food arrived 20 minutes after everyone else's and needless to say, my appetite was ruined. A truly horrific experience. The food? Marginal, mac and cheese, watery; chicken undercooked. Just gross. The service? A horror show. The ambiance? Non-existent. What ambiance can you get from lack of decor, bright LED lights and lack of any staff charm? As often as I visit this quaint town, out of love, I will do myself and my loved ones the favor of never, ever again going to this place. Hopefully, they won't be in business long, to treat others as we were treated this evening. You've been warned. Run. read more

Service was good but nothing special. Ambiance was great (one of the main reasons we decided to come in for lunch). But the food was a real disappointment! My partner got eggs Florentine which looked great but was served cold. I got the pastrami sandwich. I have never in my life been served a pastrami sandwich with so little pastrami. Never! The sandwich had three thin slices of pastrami--about 1/8 inch thick. The bread was dry. We probably should have sent everything back, but we didn't want to make a scene and didn't want to wait for something else. I would hope there are a lot of better places to eat in Ferndale. read more

What a wonderful surprise this place turned out to be! We were staying in Ferndale during the time of difficult weather and only three places were open. We decided on The Boardroom since we had already had pizza and Mexican food recently. My husband had the macaroni and cheese and it was delicious! I had the soup, potato-vegetable and cheese, and it was wonderful! We got a Mimosa carafe and it was so refreshing. Their prices were such a welcome relief to what we had been paying thus far on our trip. They also had a really nice bluegrass band playing, and the place in general was lively! We hope to visit Ferndale again during happier weather times, and this restaurant will be at the top of my list! read more

I've been a fan of the Boardroom since they opened but haven't had a chance to visit the Ferndale location until recently. The experience at Ferndale is a bit different with many more choices on the menu. I went for Sunday brunch and enjoyed a gastronomic experience of savory crepes (the Cubano crepe was delicious) followed by a sweet crepe and an apple crisp. Of course, Sonny and crew curate the adult beverages with knowledge and experience. The historic space is quite a contrast from the Eureka location and had a warm, inviting vibe. Ferndale is pretty lucky to have such a gem downtown. read more

Absolutely spectacular experience with The Boardroom's charcuterie plates! We wanted a nice picnic lunch to go on a small adventure with us and chose The Boardroom's The Big Cheese and Aged Salami Trio boards and had them packed to go. They were two of the most well selected, well appointed charcuterie boards I've had- delicious salamis, excellent cheeses- the blue cheese in particular was amazing- and honey and fig jam that were truly delicious. Kudos for good service and friendly staff. The burger on special was good with caramelized onions and arugula. But the pub cheese on it is a no for me. We also had a pretzel with the pub cheese and house pickles. What we got was an overly salted not house made pretzel and cornichones with pickled red onion, bell pepper and carrots. Much more of a giardiniera than a pickle really and nothing special. The pub cheese is weird and bland. I was expecting warm and beery. Finally we tried the mac and cheese. It was ok but lacked seasoning. Salt and pepper at least. So not horrible but not the best. Came here for the first time the other night. The food is just fine, but a bit overpriced. The cheeseboards are beautifully set but they are pretty basic and therefor not really worth the price. We had the Halloween mimosa special which was a strawberry mimosa with strawberry drizzle and a toothpick of lychee fruit stuffed with blueberries to look like eyes. Adorable and delicious. I ordered the macaroni and cheese with a side of duck. The fact that they even had a side of duck was cool and it was deliciously seasoned and cooked. The macaroni and cheese was... fine. Nothing special but served up in a cast iron pan to spice up the appearance. For an entire that doesn't come with any sides (I paid extra for the duck) it was small and overpriced and nothing special as far as Mac and cheese goes. My partner got a pulled pork burger he said was fine, but again, no sides. Too small for the price. Additionally, while it was busy we were the last party to enter and it took almost an hour to get our food. We're usually very understanding about this but most of the parties had already been served and an entire hour just felt excessive. If you are in ferndale and looking for a snack and a drink I'm sure this place is fine, but if your looking for the bill to match the dinner, just go to Phatsy Klines in Eureka.
