The service was excellent - I went on a hot summer day and the waitstaff was kind and friendly. They gave us extra ice and everything. The food was clearly upscale for the area but not that great - I got the shrimp pasta and the pasta was overly mushy . Garlic bread was excellent. My partner got a burger which was good; cheese cost extra. The restaurant fits a good amount of people and is open til 9, so when we got there at 7:30 there was a dinner rush. The dining hall area is spacious with nice wooden tables, and both family style and two person tables. Outdoor seating is available as well.

What an amazing dinner! Chef was on fire! I had the rib eye, medium rare, 2 glasses of Briceland Cab, dessert churro with vanilla ice cream! And had a plate to go! The owner, she's amazing! Mimi! She's the best! Cidne! Awesome! The ambiance and music was perfect! I was dining alone and sat at the bar. I forgot to take pics of my meal.

One of the best kept secrets in Humboldt

Absolute perfection is the only way to describe the Ribeye! Perfectly cooked and really good mashed potatoes and fresh green beans . Service was quick and friendly. When the food and service is this good, price is irrelevant..

Our service was 5 star which helped since we were exhausted. I have a super strong recommendation for the Cali 101 sandwich. It might be one of the sandwiches I've ever had. The fried parmesan on the tops of the bread sealed the deal. My wife asked for a custom burger. Mind you, the kitchen was closing but chef pulled off a beautiful dish. I don't normally photo food but wish I did. My wife goes bun-less and they served the dish on a bed of spinach (which she requested and they had to dig for it). To do all that as the kitchen is closing says something. They could have just thrown it on top. I am completely stealing that one. I love amber ale and they make a good one. I hope we can squeeze one last visit in before we leave.

The onion rings were absolutely brilliant, and the Organic IPA was also fantastic. What really stood out was how well Amy understood the drinks menu -- she listened to the kinds of flavors we were looking for, answered all of our questions, and recommended drinks that matched exactly what we wanted. She also had a great sense of humor that made us feel completely at home. On top of that, the atmosphere was incredible -- even the people around us were interactive and engaged in conversation despite us not knowing each other. The whole night was filled with great energy, shared laughs, and an overall memorable experience.

The Peg House has a cute gift shop, general store with booze and basics (famous brownies and ginormous cookies!) and next door is the outdoor restaurant. It has a great vibe, owner took out orders and you KNOW by the taste and food service how much love and thought goes into this place! We had: Grilled Chicken w/brie Bigfoot Burger Classic Cheeseburger All came with coleslaw and that was great too! We plan on making this a pitstop from now on. Everything was delicious and there was live music on stage. **if you're camping get wood here too-it's a great price for the large bundle. Thanks Peg House!

I ordered the lost coast burger and with tax it was $20. It came with a small portion of broccoli coleslaw that I really liked- and thankfully my two companions did not so I got a triple portion. The burger was fine. Not the greasy smash burger experience I was craving, but it tasted fresh. Served on a ciabatta roll... from Costco? Unconfirmed, but that's what it tasted like. I would have preferred brioche or something more fluffy. I ate every crumb because post hike hunger. I wouldn't come again though. The service was good and everyone was nice- just overpriced for the product, IMO. The outdoor seating was nice and it looks like sometimes there is live music. The bathrooms were gross. Smelled horrible and dirty. There is a campground or some sort of rv park right behind that may also be sharing the restrooms.

When we entered we were told to grab a menu and seat ourselves. Well, we sat and we sat. I finally went inside and asked for service. I was told that we had to use the QR code. I hadn't noticed it on the other end of the table. One friend's phone wasn't set up for that, another's phone was in the car and the other said that she is 80. I figured I could do it for the group. However, ordering drinks was time consuming and we wanted to get our order in. When we got our food, there were 2 orders for shrimp tacos. I thought I ordered the rockfish tacos as they were the only tacos listed on the menu. Luckily they weren't allergic to shellfish because the deliverer was not taking them back or taking our drink order. My clam chowder was not hot and very salty. I didn't realize that my friend at our table brought us water. I didn't know that she filled them herself or I would have gone in to refill as I had nothing to drink with my soup How do you tip when there is no service? What about the 5 reviews? Did they get any service? To sum up we got our own menus and water, we found our own seats and waited for ages before I went in to ask to order. Then I was told I had to order for the group with the QR code. Never having done it before I mistakenly ordered the wrong item. My fault. We never had any service interaction. Who do you even tip. (Note : we did leave a tip). Going to a fun restaurant involves interacting with the staff. In fact I didn't order what I wanted because I had a question.
