I came here as it was very close to my cabin and I'm very glad that I did. We ordered a supreme pizza which was absolutely delicious and filling. We also ordered their garlic fries , which had a bit too much garlic but tasteful overall. We added some beers to our order- which were also very tasty. Overall, I enjoyed this place and the service by our waitress. The views were great, the food was delicious and the experience was worth it. We will definitely come back again when we're in the area.

Great place to stop by after biding the avenue of the giants. Quick service. Ordered the French dip and sweet potato fries. Tasted good plenty if table and enjoy your food while listening to the rock music.

Great selection of food in a small town. Their sub and day of the soup was great! The service was quick and they were very helpful. The overall ambiance and food experience was amazing!

I forgot to take a picture but the gluten free pizza is amazing! Seems like they might make their own gluten free pizza dough? I got the flying pig but with grilled chicken instead of breaded and it was super good. We also got the Bigfoot burger (not on gluten free but the do have gluten free buns and bread) and I was told it was amazing. FYI none of the fries are gluten free, though. They're all coated in flour for crispiness. We also had cider, of course, and that was good. Very relaxed vibes. It was a beautiful evening so we sat on the patio which is where everyone else was and it was a great experience.

cool mural on the wall of the eel river and humboldt forest!

awesome spot off the 101 to grab dinner. we were staying in phillipsville so this place was quite convenient to that small town just over, which had food places that closed earlier in the evening. buffalo wings were pretty solid. bigfoot fries were so delicious, with pulled pork, cheese, green onion atop seasoned fries. the meat lasagna took us out. it was so big, idk why we ordered so much food but we ate the leftovers for brekkie. lasagna was probably the best thing, sooo well made with layers of deliciousness. corn chowder hard pass. we thought the server had a "humboldt" accent lol. we were asking about beers and she said people love the "blurberry" and we looked at eachother like "wat" and realized the beer is actually called "blurberry" hahah. it was so good, but hella strong. nice local fruit cider. would surely come back here when i'm in the area. it's nice to sit outside by the big trees. fun place that's bigfoot themed! lots of deco.

My friends and I stopped by Avenue Café for lunch after a morning of hiking and travel to Miranda, CA, from Sacramento. We were starving, and this spot hit the mark! The café is small and wasn't busy when we arrived. The service was very friendly, and the portions were much bigger than expected. I ordered the tortilla soup, garlic Parmesan chicken wings, and sweet potato fries. The tortilla soup was hot, flavorful, and perfect after a chilly hike. The sweet potato fries were also tasty. However, while the chicken wings were cooked well, the garlic Parmesan sauce wasn't appealing. Overall, a nice spot for a hearty and satisfying meal!

Along the Avenue of the Giants is this gem of a cafe with home made hamburger patties and seasoned to perfection fries. Stopped by here while on a visit with some friends from out of state and we were not disappointed. We still talk about how this was one of the best meals on our trip! The owner who was manning the bar and takeout counter was real friendly and down to earth and talked about the Sasquatch folklore that pervades the area which was interesting.

Quirky cafe along the Avenue of the Giants. We took advantage of their outdoor seating to take in the views and smell of the redwoods. We were both torn between two dishes, the Bigfoot Fries and their special of the day which was a pesto chicken sandwich. Definitely should have both got the fries. The pork was perfectly cooked and flavorful, they didn't skimp on the toppings at all. And the portion was huge. The sandwich was nothing special, the meat was a bit chewy and it could have used a lot more pesto. We both got Shirley Temples as well, the cherrys were huge! I'm assuming it was some type of maraschino cherry, but tasted so much better. I usually don't like them, but I had to take a bite of this huge thing and ended up eating the whole thing. Definitely had small town vibes, but the staff were kind and helpful.

Tried this place out, as I was intrigued while in Humboldt. As someone who has eaten way too much…read moreNY pizza when in the city, I wanted to give it a try. Got a slice, but it was expensive. Slice was alright. Wasn't anything crazy, for the all meat. We also ordered a pie to eat, choosing a classic pep so we could try compare it to a NY style one. I was pleasantly impressed. It had thin and supple dough, robust enough for folding slices in half. Crust was thin style and had the crisp. It was really greasy, and the flavor was reminiscent more of NY than I expected. Was it a perfect NY slice? No, but it brought me further east than California. Best to eat it warm and heat it up. The cold version of the slice wasnt reminiscent of cold NY pizza I've had in the city. When hot, an interesting effort at doing NY style. It was just lacking an extra oomph that would make it 5. For those with extra pizza, I'd strongly recommend heating it up rather than eating it cold. I say that, even though I'm a big supporter of cold pizza. This pie needs to be warm.

Oh have the mighty have fallen....ordered a calzone, promised sausage, pepperoni, peppers, onion,…read moreetc. what I got was dough and cheese. Look at the pic, there is no lying here. $$20+ for this, don't go here or order here, thieves and liars, rip off to the first degree. Ok, just called to complain and was told - calzone is just cheese and bread unless specified otherwise, yet the ad states "A baked calzone with a variety of meats, cheeses and vegetables, typically including ingredients like pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, onions and peppers". You pay extra for other ingredients despite what the add says. Typical of Humboldt economics.
