Was the ultimate best service ever provided. We came to visit shelter cove all the way from pollock pines california where we ended up in shelter cove late in the evening one nite. Due to the massive trailer we were pulling along side of our car the owner of this pizza place not only did he find a place for us to park where our vehicle would be safe he also directed us to his great kitchen for some food at a great rate , but he hooked us up with the owner of a an awesome hotel with a awesome deal and showed where to go have some fun while we visited shelter cove. Amazing, amazing place. Delgada Pizza was easily the crown jewel of our visit to Shelter Cove. Nestled within the Inn of the Lost Coast, their pizza packs a punch and their menu boasts other favorites like baked mac and cheese and chicken wings. We were so impressed with not only the chicken bacon ranch, but the kind and efficient service. The thin crust and savory toppings made for a dreamy meal by the sea. This is one of the most remote pizza places I've ever been. Solid pizza and nice staff. Not the best on the planet but when your an hour from any other options they do the job! Took a Maui BBQ pizza back to our room and it was excellent! So many tasty flavors combined together and baked to perfection. The leftovers for lunch the next day were still fantastic. Staff was friendly, if a bit overstretched (e.g., Friday evening the wait for a pizza got up to at least an hour and twenty minutes), so put in your order early or on a quieter night. I go and stay at the Inn of the Lost Coast at least once a year, if not more. Getting pizza from Delgada is one of the things I look forward to. It's one of the BEST pizza we have ever had. They've got some unique pizzas; we asked about the baked potato pizza and it's not on their menu anymore, but they still had scalloped potatoes so they went ahead and made it for us. The pizza was delicious and the staff was really nice. So far, it's the only place in Shelter Cove that hasn't run out of half their ingredients or decided to close early Lol. 3 stars for the pizza and 5 stars for the bakery. Pizza is good but not great the crust was chewy and a bit tough and over cooked. We chose the veggie with pesto sauce. The bakery items were really good, we had the lemon bar, fudge brownie pumpkin roll and pecan praline cookie and everything was perfect. I appreciated the option of the brownie with or without walnuts. That's all So we ordered their pizza again (back to back days) and this time the crust was much better it wasn't chewy or over cooked and had a nice light crunch just the way it should. Now I would give the pizza ; stars but overall I will leave it at 4 because of the inconsistency. As a side note, one of the locals had warned us that it's a hit or miss with the pizza like it depends on who is cooking that day or something. read more

Came here after our long drive and was super hungry. The shop is super tiny with seats outside of the shop and it is located at the end of a hotel. We ordered an All Meat Pizza that took forever to make. It was an hour long wait and the pizza had hardly any meat on it, but at least the Pizza was hot and that we were finally able to eat before driving back. Pizza tasted ok, not great like Round Table, but not bad like Little Caesars. While we waited we got to enjoy the sunset and listen to some other people who were also waiting for their pizza play their guitar. read more

Always consistant in their food n drink selection. Hanging out in Shelter Cove there are few options, especially since Verns has stopped making sandwiches and may be out of biz soon. That leaves the fish n chips until 4pm or the Tides resturant on weekends only during winter season or the grocery store up on the hill which closes at 630pm. So Delgatas is it and heads up they stop making zzas at 8:45pm. My favorite zzas is a custom with a porter beer and maybe one of there home baked sweets for ssert. Call a head or wait there for 20 mins prep time. At night upper pacific to lower pacific can be easy to miss as there is no light and limited signage. read more

My husband and I both love pizza, but rarely eat it. So though this is currently the only option in Shelter Cove, we were still excited to have this for dinner. The menu looked great with lots of various toppings and fun combinations. I'm a thick dough lover for my pizza and the crust is one of my favorite parts. Their crust was thin, but not like a true thin crust pizza, just kinda flat and not doughy. Second disappointment was the sauce -- flavor was horrible. Giving it two stars because the toppings were fresh and I had a lemon bar that was one of the best I've ever had. If you do eat here, I would recommend trying one of their other sauces (they have pesto and I think a white sauce too). Do prepare for a long wait so plan in advance. Hardly any seating there, but there are quite a few picnic benches not far with amazing views that you can eat at. read more

I just bought a gluten free pizza single for almost $30 dollars. Go to the general store and you may get the same crust for WAY less than that. I was actually appalled at the price. I have lived in the area for 17,+ years, and am not disturbed by high pricing until this day. What the actual FUCK!? Im so Lost on this Lost Coast! Okay, I'm going to have to track down the review I wrote last year because it was apparently of the wrong place (oh dear). I happened to notice the name this time; last year I was probably weak with hunger and only noticed the Open sign and the PIZZA sign. So, tiny hole in the wall place attached to the Inn of the Lost Coast. You can barely fit two small groups of people inside. No matter, there are a couple tables outside (and steps, though a friend I happened to bump into and I were sternly admonished as we sat there, by a woman who materialized out of the ether to say "Ladies, and I use the term loosely, There Are Chairs" And other things; I wasn't listening and I didn't move, thereby proving without a doubt that my mother's fears are realized and now, well past 60 and the 60's, and I am no lady whatsoever). 20 minute wait for the utterly delicious, created on the spot, vegetarian pizza on which the vegetables were fresh and wonderful. That was okay, because my partner was around the corner nursing a beer while our son enjoyed a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream (the choices that day were vanilla, chocolate, coffee, and rainbow sherbert). And I had coffee. The very lovely young woman behind me who admired my antique gold and jade ring and showed me her lilac ring (and many more) and shared that it came from Olivia (a poignant moment; Olivia was a young and vibrant girl our community lost much too early)...she was curious about the coffee. Had I been more on it I would have determined if it were shade grown, organic, local, whatever. I was just happy to have coffee. At a dollar. And it was good. Strong, dark. Good. Anyway, we took our pizza to Abalone Point and devoured it and were very happy indeed and now I can lure my partner back to the Cove because...yum. Very yum. They have baked goods too, baked there. Oh, yum. Oh, important note: This business is in Shelter Cove (not Whitethorn) with a view of the lovely ocean if you just walk around the corner. read more
