You will be given a ticket with a 4-digit code plus a separate code for the bathroom. The gift shop also serves coffee and some food items and has a separate room in the back that serves as a dispensary. Yes! This is Humboldt County after all ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ If driving along Highway 101 towards Avenue of the Giants, it's pretty hard to miss seeing The One Log House, located next door to the Grandfather Tree. It's made from a 2100 year old gigantic redwood tree in crafted in 1946. It took 8 months to gut and hollow out the room and is 7-feet high and 32-feet long. I was able to walk inside nicely (I'm 5'2" hehehe). The log house toured the US in its early years until it settled in Redwood Country in 1999. Inside is just like a home complete with a kitchen, bedroom and living space. It seemed a perfectly livable residence. But anyway, there's the kitchen complete with various spices and salt, a breakfast nook, dual beds, reading tables, bench, books and magazines. I couldn't resist stepping in to check it out. One Log House is nestled in the heart of the Redwood forest. Worth the stop. Review #2512
