What a great little place to snag a tasty breakfast. Lucky to find this place on Yelp. Be advised it is a cash only. You can always tell a great locals spot and this place was filled with them. We were happy to score a table so we could enjoy our breakfast. We ordered the Belgian Waffle which is the dish they are known for. In addition, we ordered the breakfast burrito, fresh squeezed orange juice, and a hot chocolate. We loved both of our dishes but the Belgian Waffle did steal the show. It was probably the best Belgian Waffle I have ever tasted. The burrito was also good. Loved the OJ as you just can't beat freshly squeezed. Service was helpful but not too over the top. The space is small but there are quite a few tables if you come early. This place is easy to locate in downtown Ft. Bragg and parking is on the street. Despite this being a cash only establishment, usually something that qualifies for no higher than three stars, I'm going to give this place a four-star review. The coffee was great, the refills were plentiful, and the baked goods were tasty too. The staff could not have been nicer, and the dining room was cleaning comfortable. Such a great little coffeehouse! I had a vanilla coconut latte with that was fantastic. Great service, great vibes. They even had live music when we were there! We enjoyed listening to popular hits being played on the piano and accordion while we waited for our delicious drinks. We stopped by Headlands Coffeehouse for a quick breakfast, and found it very busy on a Saturday morning. However, the line moved quickly so we didn't wait too long to order. The interior was cozy, with wooden furniture and a warm ambiance. They didn't have any specialty coffee drinks and were out of Chai, so I ordered a Pumpkin Spice Latte and an Almond Croissant. My friends got a Pumpkin Cranberry Muffin, Breakfast Burrito, and Yogurt Parfait. Seating was a bit limited, but we were able to grab a table near the back. My Pumpkin Spice Latte was pretty standard, but the Almond Croissant was delicious - great flavor, very filling. My friends liked all their food items, as well. The coffee shop was cash-only, which wasn't the most convenient, but they did have an ATM inside. Overall, pretty good! read more

We were traveling through Northern California and stayed in Fort Bragg for one night. Hoping to enjoy good coffee and pastries, we chose this café with the expectation of the warm hospitality typical of a small-town coffee shop. We ordered three cups of coffee and three bagels to eat inside, but our coffee was served in disposable cups. We found this a bit unusual, but since some cafés do use disposable cups for dine-in orders, we did not question it further. When my boyfriend asked for honey, we were told there would be an extra charge. We then waited for our bagels, but none were brought to us. Later, we discovered they had been placed in to-go paper bags on the counter with the takeout orders. At that point, we realized there had been a misunderstanding. Although confused, we sat down and had our coffee and bagels inside. When we attempted to refill a cup of coffee, we were stopped and told that to-go orders are not eligible for refills. I went to the counter to explain that we had ordered to dine in and were not informed of any misunderstanding or specific rules. I expressed that it did not feel fair to be treated this way under the circumstances. The woman at the counter apologized but said that since the order had already been processed as to-go, refills were not allowed. I do not know if this is how businesses are run these days, but I have never experienced customer service like this at any coffee shop before. Unfortunately, this experience has left a negative impression, and I do not plan to visit this place again. It's cash only, fyi. read more

Unprofessional, Condescending, and Overstepping Boundaries Walked into Headlands Coffeehouse to grab a drink and was immediately questioned--not about my order--but about what was in my own Nalgene bottle. Staff acted like I was bringing in a controlled substance and told me they could be liable if I got sick from my own drink. Seriously? Let's be clear: this was my sealed, personal bottle. Not something they served. Their logic? Completely made-up. There's no health code that says a business is responsible for what a paying customer carries into their own mouth. What this really was--was a power trip and an overreach. Instead of focusing on customer service or the quality of their overpriced drinks, they were busy playing hall monitor. I left without ordering, and I won't be back. If you value being treated with respect and basic professionalism, try anywhere else in town. Whole milk is a train wreck to my digestive tract and I very carefully asked what type of milk you were going to use for a reason. It wasn't the whipped cream - I use that all the time. It wasn't the white chocolate - I could tell from the taste exactly what brand it was. It was too creamy and too tasty to be 2%.
