We walked across the bridge from the North Cliff hotel, recommended by the check-in person at the hotel. Not busy on a Sunday evening we were sat at a table in the lounge/bar which was off to the side with a huge window. Pretty much immediately the waters were poured and french bread arrived, not many places starting with free bread these days. M ordered up a Mai Tai and I had a bottle of sparkling water. It took us a bit to go through the menu, I like to see if I can get a variety of items to add some excitement to the palate.... First up the chef's Clam Chowder, this version had some small dice vegetables, was a good medium thickness, and off white in color. Unfortunately the vegetables and diced potatoes made the clams and flavor secondary, in my opinion. That was followed up with six triangle shape won tons with a tasty mix of shrimp and sauce. Dungeness crab cakes were delivered and we each took one of the breaded and fried 3ounce or so cakes, plenty of crab and they were good. Ceviche was great and plenty of shrimps to enjoy with the house made tortilla chips. The Spinach salad hit the spot and finished our buffet of choices nicely. We took a slice of Lemon cheesecake back to the room for a treat later. The service was attentive, average. Everything was good but I didn't feel as though anything was outstanding. The Noyo River Grill was my final stop in Fort Bragg. This is Walt from Walt's Adventures. This restaurant by the shore has a wonderful indoor and bar dining area. They do have an outdoor dining area because the two picnic tables are, in fact, outside. However, I doubt the indoor patrons experienced the joy of the waves coming forth accompanied by the calming, periodic sound of a light house. The meals all possessed great presentations. The Noyo Burger was ok while both the Creamy Garlic Chicken and the Fettuccine Noodles were devoured. The Flan dessert was wonderful. The Sticky Toffee Cake, for my tastes was a bit dry but was highly accepted by my daughter. Noyo River Grill has 4 of 5 stars in my eyes for they ended my Northern trip with satisfaction. read more

This is a fun restaurant and bar. The menu has a lot of variety with great seafood options. The prices are ok. The oysters were very good and so was the local rock cod . I also had some halibut tacos . All was very well prepared and the service was top notch . I went there twice . The rock cod piccata was good .... A tiny bit overcooked but still good. 11/2025 - Went to this amazing place for lunch the day after Thanksgiving: we were a party of 13. The food, the service and ambience were on point! They also have a kids menu and it's definitely a kid friendly. They also have a nice bar if you want to have a drink, some appetizers or food as there are tables up there. They have delicious appetizers, drinks as well as dessert. If you're in a wheelchair, you would have to eat at the entry level of the restaurant as there is no elevator. Almost appears to be stadium type seating, so everyone can have a view of the bay/ocean. We didn't have a long wait and the food appeared perfectly cooked. However, the clams were on small side. We would definitely eat at this place again when in town; even for a drink and a quick appetizer. read more

Great service in the bar for Happy Hour. Had the tuna tartare (on the Happy Hour menu). It was very mediocre. The house Chardonnay was not very good. Happy Hour margarita was good, no complaints. We ordered the ceviche from the regular menu. They should have called it "salsa" because it contained barely any chopped up prawns. I believe the prawns were actually just chopped up prawns that the restaurant uses for its shrimp cocktails. Finally to note as we were walking to our car, we noticed one of the cooks leaving in his car. Before he got into his car, he threw his cigarette into the restaurant parking stall next to him. Really?? So sad that a restaurant cook would do that. Makes you wonder what pride he takes in his own cooking at this restaurant. read more

We were in town doing a quick New Years trip and decided to try this place out. We made reservations in advance as we were not sure how seating or the wait would be on a holiday week. We were seated in the lower dining area right in front of a window. The views are beautiful overlooking the ocean inlet and the restaurant seating is tiered so there isn't really a bad place to sit. We shared the chowder to start and then we each ordered an entree. We had the crab pasta and the cod piccata with risotto that was delicious. They were pretty busy but the server was attentive and our food came within a reasonable time after the starter. They had some live music upstairs in the bar area. My husband and I went for dinner with friends while we were visiting Fort Bragg. We were in the mood for fish and chips, and didn't want to eat outside in the cold at our usual place, so we decided to try Noyo River Grill. My husband had the fish and chips, and I had the combo platter. The fish wasn't anything special, but I really like the shrimp and scallops on the combo platter. The fries were ok, and the bread that came with the meal was also just ok. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were seated next to the window on the lower level, and loved the views.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was also really good during our visit, with friendly and attentive waitstaff. The highlight though was the Cable Car cocktail, which was well made and delicious. We'll go back, but will stick to our usual spot for fish and chips. read more

Well, we made the mistake to come back to this restaurant. My family of four unanimously agreed that the food was disappointing. Tasteless at best, the seafood had a weird taste. Hubby and I came here for lunch on our wedding anniversary. Biggest regret and waste of $100+ on food. We began with appetizers- a bowl of clam chowder and steamed clams & muscles. Those were standard and almost impossible to mess up. For our entrees, I ordered the seafood Alfredo and he ordered fish tacos with a side salad. The actual pasta and sauce was decent, but smothered in shredded cheese and contained spoiled fish. It smelled and tasted like ammonia which is no surprise cause fish does contain trimethylamine oxide. Basically, the fish wasn't fresh or properly stored. I immediately spat it out. My husband's grilled fish tacos were no better. The vegetables in his salad were also wilted and slimy. We didn't even bother complaining because after years of working in food and hospitality, I know exactly what happens when you do. I do not recommend this restaurant at all. read more

We had a great experience at Noyo Grill. Jojo was our server and was an absolute delight. I selected a glass of Pinot for dinner but when my selection wasn't available, Jojo brought over a taste of each of the other Pinots so I could make another decision. The food totally hit the spot. Great portion sizes and really delicious. We enjoyed the rock fish piccata and the fish and chips entree as well as the calamari appetizer. The piccata in particular was excellent. We'll definitely be coming back when we make another trip out to the coast. read more

Then wait another 30 minutes to for the waitress to tend to us. She did not introduce herself instead rudely and impatiently asked us if we're ready to order. We didn't want to wait any longer so we ordered our drinks and entrees. I could add how long they keep taking but it's so ridiculous. The food was decent, nothing impressive. We ordered the fettuccine to go WITH NO MEAT. The waitress even repeated our ordered correctly. We were handed our food and doubled checked, only to find that the pasta came with chicken. We checked our receipt and she charged us for the chicken. We let the waitress know and she rudely refunded the chicken but did not make us another order without the chicken. I got the creamy garlic chicken, which I enjoyed and the noyo burger was another favorite. The pesto pasta was okay, and felt heavy. The combo plate with fried food was good and a great amount, but it also felt heavy after eating a few bites. The clam chowder tasted watered down. The restaurant has a great view overlooking the ocean and beach and it can be formal or informal. Service was great. Friendly staff and I liked hearing the live performances. They attended us badly. Close it up. Felt that we were neglected as we were a big group which should be no reason to take any longer or treat us with any bit of less respect. As we felt disrespected by the treatment it ruined our dinner that we initially had hoped to have as a good experience as it was our first time visiting Fort Bragg. The audacity to treat us any lesser for a mistake we made is completely neglectful. It took is forever to get our drinks and our entrees. As they took so long we had all chugged down our drinks and scarff down any bread and fried calamari we could before our headaches worsened.
