Sat at a two-person table with a view of the boats in the harbor. This property really optimizes its location on a raised peninsula. The grounds are immaculate and the scent of honeysuckle is intoxicating. Inside I was met with dark hard woods and that classic feel: this is the NICE restaurant for this small town. The servers were all professional and kind. We asked for extra bread while we waited. A teen was playing classical guitar out on the patio. The boomers at the table over were adorable in their boozy confessions to one another. They tried to purchase the only ugly painting on the wall. Let me know if you hear how it went. The rest of the paintings were jarringly gorgeous. And the food. We had the marsala chicken and the coconut curry. The Noyo River Grill was my final stop in Fort Bragg. This is Walt from Walt's Adventures. This restaurant by the shore has a wonderful indoor and bar dining area. They do have an outdoor dining area because the two picnic tables are, in fact, outside. However, I doubt the indoor patrons experienced the joy of the waves coming forth accompanied by the calming, periodic sound of a light house. The meals all possessed great presentations. The Noyo Burger was ok while both the Creamy Garlic Chicken and the Fettuccine Noodles were devoured. The Flan dessert was wonderful. The Sticky Toffee Cake, for my tastes was a bit dry but was highly accepted by my daughter. Noyo River Grill has 4 of 5 stars in my eyes for they ended my Northern trip with satisfaction. read more

Great service in the bar for Happy Hour. Had the tuna tartare (on the Happy Hour menu). It was very mediocre. The house Chardonnay was not very good. Happy Hour margarita was good, no complaints. We ordered the ceviche from the regular menu. They should have called it "salsa" because it contained barely any chopped up prawns. I believe the prawns were actually just chopped up prawns that the restaurant uses for its shrimp cocktails. Finally to note as we were walking to our car, we noticed one of the cooks leaving in his car. Before he got into his car, he threw his cigarette into the restaurant parking stall next to him. 11/2025 - Went to this amazing place for lunch the day after Thanksgiving: we were a party of 13. The food, the service and ambience were on point! They also have a kids menu and it's definitely a kid friendly. They also have a nice bar if you want to have a drink, some appetizers or food as there are tables up there. They have delicious appetizers, drinks as well as dessert. If you're in a wheelchair, you would have to eat at the entry level of the restaurant as there is no elevator. Almost appears to be stadium type seating, so everyone can have a view of the bay/ocean. We didn't have a long wait and the food appeared perfectly cooked. However, the clams were on small side. We would definitely eat at this place again when in town; even for a drink and a quick appetizer. read more

My husband and I went for dinner with friends while we were visiting Fort Bragg. We were in the mood for fish and chips, and didn't want to eat outside in the cold at our usual place, so we decided to try Noyo River Grill. My husband had the fish and chips, and I had the combo platter. The fish wasn't anything special, but I really like the shrimp and scallops on the combo platter. The fries were ok, and the bread that came with the meal was also just ok. We were seated next to the window on the lower level, and loved the views. The service was also really good during our visit, with friendly and attentive waitstaff. The highlight though was the Cable Car cocktail, which was well made and delicious. We'll go back, but will stick to our usual spot for fish and chips. read more

We had a great experience at Noyo Grill. Jojo was our server and was an absolute delight. I selected a glass of Pinot for dinner but when my selection wasn't available, Jojo brought over a taste of each of the other Pinots so I could make another decision. The food totally hit the spot. Great portion sizes and really delicious. We enjoyed the rock fish piccata and the fish and chips entree as well as the calamari appetizer. The piccata in particular was excellent. We were in town doing a quick New Years trip and decided to try this place out. We made reservations in advance as we were not sure how seating or the wait would be on a holiday week. We were seated in the lower dining area right in front of a window. The views are beautiful overlooking the ocean inlet and the restaurant seating is tiered so there isn't really a bad place to sit. We shared the chowder to start and then we each ordered an entree. We had the crab pasta and the cod piccata with risotto that was delicious. They were pretty busy but the server was attentive and our food came within a reasonable time after the starter. They had some live music upstairs in the bar area. Well, we made the mistake to come back to this restaurant. My family of four unanimously agreed that the food was disappointing. Tasteless at best, the seafood had a weird taste. Hubby and I came here for lunch on our wedding anniversary. Biggest regret and waste of $100+ on food. We began with appetizers- a bowl of clam chowder and steamed clams & muscles. Those were standard and almost impossible to mess up. For our entrees, I ordered the seafood Alfredo and he ordered fish tacos with a side salad. The actual pasta and sauce was decent, but smothered in shredded cheese and contained spoiled fish. It smelled and tasted like ammonia which is no surprise cause fish does contain trimethylamine oxide. Basically, the fish wasn't fresh or properly stored. I immediately spat it out. My husband's grilled fish tacos were no better. The vegetables in his salad were also wilted and slimy. We didn't even bother complaining because after years of working in food and hospitality, I know exactly what happens when you do. I do not recommend this restaurant at all. read more

This place can be hit or miss. Half our table enjoyed their food and the other half thought it was okay. We liked the complimentary bread and butter. I got the creamy garlic chicken, which I enjoyed and the noyo burger was another favorite. The pesto pasta was okay, and felt heavy. The combo plate with fried food was good and a great amount, but it also felt heavy after eating a few bites. The clam chowder tasted watered down. The restaurant has a great view overlooking the ocean and beach and it can be formal or informal. Service was great. Friendly staff and I liked hearing the live performances. A review was written (it was not positive) by my wife on Noyo River Grill website but I'm guessing the administrator probably would not allow it to be posted . I have decided to relay her experience on Yelp to convey what should not have even happened. On a Friday afternoon Noyo River Grill was called to make a dinner reservation for the two of us to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary for the following Tuesday. Naturally a table with an ocean view was requested and promptly replied with a " I cannot guarantee that". After reiterating that it was a 25th wedding anniversary along with explaining that our seating time was very flexible, once again the reply was " I cannot guarantee that". But for that fact that the reply was given in a nonprofessional attitude and lack of caring for the celebratory occasion which made my wife feel insignificant, sad and confused why an establishment of supposedly high caliber would treat potential customers in such a fashion? The person taking the reservation sounded young, so maybe lack of training could have been the reason? But never the less Noyo River Grill will never be receiving a phone call from us again and rest assured friends and family will be made aware of this experience. read more

So we stopped in Noyo River Grill for lunch after reading great reviews about the restaurant. First things first - don't be fooled by the outside, the inside of the restaurant is beautiful! I'll post pictures with this review but from the outside, it doesn't look like much but from the inside - brilliant design with stadium seating of tiered tables so everyone gets to enjoy this fantastic view. Really smart. My wife and I had a light lunch. She went with a burger that was beautifully prepared but the ground beef was a little on the gristle side which was disappointing. I had a 1/2 dozen raw oysters which were Fanny Bays and they were fresh and tasty. They serve and interesting citrus-based vinaigrette which was unusual and very good. The views were, of course, fantastic. Our service was 5 star. So the 4 star review was based on a slight bobble of the burger and the fact we really didn't dig deep into the menu. However, this is a strong recommend, and we will be coming back for dinner on our next trip. read more
