We walked across the bridge from the North Cliff hotel, recommended by the check-in person at the hotel. Not busy on a Sunday evening we were sat at a table in the lounge/bar which was off to the side with a huge window. Pretty much immediately the waters were poured and french bread arrived, not many places starting with free bread these days. M ordered up a Mai Tai and I had a bottle of sparkling water. It took us a bit to go through the menu, I like to see if I can get a variety of items to add some excitement to the palate.... First up the chef's Clam Chowder, this version had some small dice vegetables, was a good medium thickness, and off white in color. Unfortunately the vegetables and diced potatoes made the clams and flavor secondary, in my opinion. That was followed up with six triangle shape won tons with a tasty mix of shrimp and sauce. Dungeness crab cakes were delivered and we each took one of the breaded and fried 3ounce or so cakes, plenty of crab and they were good. Ceviche was great and plenty of shrimps to enjoy with the house made tortilla chips. The Spinach salad hit the spot and finished our buffet of choices nicely. We took a slice of Lemon cheesecake back to the room for a treat later. The service was attentive, average. Everything was good but I didn't feel as though anything was outstanding. Thank you for the meal Martin-Foodguy read more

Love this place! My wife and I had dinner here last night to celebrate our wedding anniversary and the staff was so friendly! We enjoyed our nice table right by the window looking at the water. We had the crab wontons as an appetizer and the crab pasta and grilled salmon as our entrees. All 3 dishes were fresh and delicious. We look forward to coming back here next time we are in the area. read more

We had lunch here while visiting Mendocino. There is plenty of seating, and you can enjoy your food with a beautiful ocean view. We ordered a cheeseburger and a chicken pesto sandwich. Both were good. The only disappointment was the fries, which looked a little burnt. Overall, the food and service were god. read more

Great view of the confluence of the Noyo River & Ocean (Glass Beach & Harbor). Three tiered seating for maximum views. Family owned restaurant!! Perfect for a romantic dinner, pricey too!! Our meals were both delicious and served with warm bread & butter. Our waitress did a great job taking care of us too!! We've been coming here for years, when ever we're in the area. Enjoy!! read more

We had such a wonderful experience at Noyo River Grill! Morgan, our waitress, provided excellent service and made our visit even more enjoyable. She was attentive, friendly, and made us feel so welcome. And I have to say, the espresso martini made by Morgan was hands down the best I've ever had! The interior was incredibly clean and beautifully decorated. I especially loved the local dahlias on each table. Such a thoughtful and gorgeous touch! The food was delicious, too. I had the grilled chicken pesto sandwich, and my husband had the burger, we both loved our meals. We will most definitely be back!! Highly recommend Noyo River Grill! Good food, good service, good drinks, and a great view! read more

Let's start with the overwhelming fish smell when you walk in. Normally that is a giant red flag for me but I was so hungry and tired I just ignored it. The server was pleasant....THOUGH...on of them seemed to be wearing a pager letting them know when food was ready. Had it not been turned to max volume BEEP. BEEP. BEEP it wouldn't have been an issue. However, it was super annoying. The fettuccine Alfredo was described as meh. The cheese burger had the $2 worth of cheese addition...which seemed to equate to a piece of cheese that was 1.5"x1.5". For $2 per slice you would think you would get a full slice. The "wedge" salad was surprising only because the person didn't read that it was romaine lettuce. I had the combo plate and was completely perplexed by what I received. WHY would someone take 2 cod, 2 scallops and 2 shrimp and fry them in batter? The cod I could kind of understand but if I wanted that I would have ordered fish and chips. The menu mentions nothing of fried being everything. Why would you ruin quality scallops and shrimp by frying them and why would you not make that as part of the menu? Not a great experience overall. Probably not a place I would recommend but there aren't a lot of options in the area. read more

Sat at a two-person table with a view of the boats in the harbor. This property really optimizes its location on a raised peninsula. The grounds are immaculate and the scent of honeysuckle is intoxicating. Inside I was met with dark hard woods and that classic feel: this is the NICE restaurant for this small town. The servers were all professional and kind. We asked for extra bread while we waited. A teen was playing classical guitar out on the patio. The boomers at the table over were adorable in their boozy confessions to one another. They tried to purchase the only ugly painting on the wall. Let me know if you hear how it went. The rest of the paintings were jarringly gorgeous. And the food. We had the marsala chicken and the coconut curry. I am a sucker for polenta and it perfectly absorbed the marsala sauce: other worldly. As another person from a small town, tip your servers in cash, people. Northern Californians are just trying to get by! read more

The Noyo River Grill was my final stop in Fort Bragg. This is Walt from Walt's Adventures. This restaurant by the shore has a wonderful indoor and bar dining area. They do have an outdoor dining area because the two picnic tables are, in fact, outside. However, I doubt the indoor patrons experienced the joy of the waves coming forth accompanied by the calming, periodic sound of a light house. The meals all possessed great presentations. The Noyo Burger was ok while both the Creamy Garlic Chicken and the Fettuccine Noodles were devoured. The Flan dessert was wonderful. The Sticky Toffee Cake, for my tastes was a bit dry but was highly accepted by my daughter. Noyo River Grill has 4 of 5 stars in my eyes for they ended my Northern trip with satisfaction. read more

Crap staff ceviche was mid. I specifically asked if instead of pesto oysters or raw if they could just bbq them plain or even with a splash of beer they came back with baked garlic and breading drowning in butter. The waitress who got the order wrong initially answered that it was garlic when I asked what kind of topping is on this like what is all this and he didn't even ask to take it back seeing that it actively ruined our anniversary dinner and night so you need to like train more on customer service I waisted an hour here I should went to the Harbor view. It was empty and out dated the staff wasn't attentive. The hostess made us wait 2 mins to be checked in while she fiddle around on a computer in an empty restaurant with multiple open tables where we could've picked any open table. I got pretty and did my makeup and picked a cute outfit for just trash evening thanks for the worst service ever. read more

11/2025 - Went to this amazing place for lunch the day after Thanksgiving: we were a party of 13. The food, the service and ambience were on point! They also have a kids menu and it's definitely a kid friendly. They also have a nice bar if you want to have a drink, some appetizers or food as there are tables up there. They have delicious appetizers, drinks as well as dessert. If you're in a wheelchair, you would have to eat at the entry level of the restaurant as there is no elevator. Almost appears to be stadium type seating, so everyone can have a view of the bay/ocean. We didn't have a long wait and the food appeared perfectly cooked. However, the clams were on small side. We would definitely eat at this place again when in town; even for a drink and a quick appetizer. read more

I wish I could have eaten the view. sorry NOT impressed !! service was great... food sub par. I got ceviche as a side and their burger NOT much fish in the ceviche. the burger was way over salted, with salt on the table. the fries were 1/2 good, the other half were prob. left over from lunch and re- fried with the fresh ones.. this is the problem with early dinners for the price paid.. kitchen should have taken more care. sorry it was not better... service and views YAYY !!! but that was it for us read more

Great service in the bar for Happy Hour. Had the tuna tartare (on the Happy Hour menu). It was very mediocre. The house Chardonnay was not very good. Happy Hour margarita was good, no complaints. We ordered the ceviche from the regular menu. They should have called it "salsa" because it contained barely any chopped up prawns. I believe the prawns were actually just chopped up prawns that the restaurant uses for its shrimp cocktails. Finally to note as we were walking to our car, we noticed one of the cooks leaving in his car. Before he got into his car, he threw his cigarette into the restaurant parking stall next to him. Really?? So sad that a restaurant cook would do that. Makes you wonder what pride he takes in his own cooking at this restaurant. read more

We were in town doing a quick New Years trip and decided to try this place out. We made reservations in advance as we were not sure how seating or the wait would be on a holiday week. We were seated in the lower dining area right in front of a window. The views are beautiful overlooking the ocean inlet and the restaurant seating is tiered so there isn't really a bad place to sit. We shared the chowder to start and then we each ordered an entree. We had the crab pasta and the cod piccata with risotto that was delicious. They were pretty busy but the server was attentive and our food came within a reasonable time after the starter. They had some live music upstairs in the bar area. Overall when we visit again we would definitely be back. read more

This is a nice restaurant at the noyo harbor. We were excited about having a nice meal. As we stood next to the hostess podium the hostess was on the phone and getting information from the bartender on a bottle of wine. Then info on another, then another. No greeting - so I asked if I could grab a menu at the bar to which she replied "give me a minute". No one is there and when another party arrived and she was still not doing her job - you know "greet customers and seat them". Guests apparently are second to phone calls... put them on hold, seat us and go back to the phone. The attitude of the hostess set a bad tone and as I'm not planning on returning the management needs to know how their guests are being treated. read more

This is a fun restaurant and bar. The menu has a lot of variety with great seafood options. The prices are ok. The oysters were very good and so was the local rock cod . I also had some halibut tacos . All was very well prepared and the service was top notch . I went there twice . The rock cod piccata was good .... A tiny bit overcooked but still good. The view from every table of the Pacific alone is worth coming here. It has a very nice bar with many drink options and local beers on tap. read more

Hubby and I came here for lunch on our wedding anniversary. Biggest regret and waste of $100+ on food. We began with appetizers- a bowl of clam chowder and steamed clams & muscles. Those were standard and almost impossible to mess up. For our entrees, I ordered the seafood Alfredo and he ordered fish tacos with a side salad. The actual pasta and sauce was decent, but smothered in shredded cheese and contained spoiled fish. It smelled and tasted like ammonia which is no surprise cause fish does contain trimethylamine oxide. Basically, the fish wasn't fresh or properly stored. I immediately spat it out. My husband's grilled fish tacos were no better. The vegetables in his salad were also wilted and slimy. We didn't even bother complaining because after years of working in food and hospitality, I know exactly what happens when you do. I do not recommend this restaurant at all. read more

My husband and I went for dinner with friends while we were visiting Fort Bragg. We were in the mood for fish and chips, and didn't want to eat outside in the cold at our usual place, so we decided to try Noyo River Grill. My husband had the fish and chips, and I had the combo platter. The fish wasn't anything special, but I really like the shrimp and scallops on the combo platter. The fries were ok, and the bread that came with the meal was also just ok. We were seated next to the window on the lower level, and loved the views. The service was also really good during our visit, with friendly and attentive waitstaff. The highlight though was the Cable Car cocktail, which was well made and delicious. We'll go back, but will stick to our usual spot for fish and chips. read more

This place can be hit or miss. Half our table enjoyed their food and the other half thought it was okay. We liked the complimentary bread and butter. I got the creamy garlic chicken, which I enjoyed and the noyo burger was another favorite. The pesto pasta was okay, and felt heavy. The combo plate with fried food was good and a great amount, but it also felt heavy after eating a few bites. The clam chowder tasted watered down. The restaurant has a great view overlooking the ocean and beach and it can be formal or informal. Service was great. Friendly staff and I liked hearing the live performances. The guava drink was one of my favorites as well. I would come back here again. read more

Well, we made the mistake to come back to this restaurant. My family of four unanimously agreed that the food was disappointing. Tasteless at best, the seafood had a weird taste. We had a great experience at Noyo Grill. Jojo was our server and was an absolute delight. I selected a glass of Pinot for dinner but when my selection wasn't available, Jojo brought over a taste of each of the other Pinots so I could make another decision. The food totally hit the spot. Great portion sizes and really delicious. We enjoyed the rock fish piccata and the fish and chips entree as well as the calamari appetizer. The piccata in particular was excellent. FLAVOR (5/5): Got their combo fried platter which had scallops, shrimp and fish! Huge portions of the seafood here! INSTAGRAM WORTHY (5/5): The restaurant is right along the water, great for a sunset dinner because they have big windows for you to watch from your table! SERVICE (3/5): We came in half an hour before closing knowing what we wanted so we wouldn't stay too long and leave before closing.
