she didn't even bring us two boxes to separate our breakfast from our fruit .

we went in at 8:30 on a Friday morning. There was one server there and the lobby was empty besides one guest and we got the most terrible service from that waitress. She didn't acknowledge us for saying thank you you welcome anything very rude brought us dirty silverware we asked for it to be exchanged. She just picked it up and walked away without saying I'm sorry or anything. Her attitude was terrible. The food was OK but her service and her attitude towards the customers poor poor poor. unless you are a local tourist service was absolutely the worst I've experienced. We've been to other cafés in the morning. We would not be returning to this one, and I will tell all my friends and colleagues and coworkers if you come down here do not go there at that time of day in that morning with that sever.

    French toast combo

Really good home style meal Returned 2 days later and enjoyed their biscuit and gravy with a egg meal very filling couldn't eat it all and I so badly wanted to. They have very good coffee too. I would eat there twice a week if I lived in the area.

This locally owned restaurant was suggested to my friend and I. We were seated and given menus right away. It is a little small inside and they have I think two picnic benches outside for dining out there as well. They offered breakfast meals ranging from egg platters, french toast, waffles, pancakes, omelettes, sandwiches, huevos rancheros, and burrito. I chose the western omelette with a pancake. My friend chose the french toast combo. We waited about 15 minutes for food to arrive. my personal opinion on the omelette was that it was ok I did have to add extra seasoning on mine. The veggies and ham were largely chopped and I'm not too sure how I feel about it. The ham was a little cold as well. No seasoning on the potatoes so had to add that, which I think its pretty typical for most places anyways. I did order a side of sour cream to have with my omelette. I had a bite of my friends french toast and thought it tasted good, but my friend did not enjoy it. She stated it was "over battered and over cooked and had no flavor". I'm giving 3 stars because I just feel the whole experience was "ok". Our server was the normal friendly. I think there were only two servers and they both seemed busy. I paid $2.75 for a side of sour cream, which seems pretty extreme to me because I don't think I've ever paid that much for a side of anything before. We were told the biscuits and gravy was the star of the show, but neither of us had that so maybe I'd have try it if we ever came back.

After a busy work night last night I decided to let someone else cook breakfast and after a bit of shopping for necessities, I chose Homestyle Cafe. Cordelia has been a fixture in the culinary scene here for a long time and she is known for great food with a good presentation for a fair price. I was dying for a hamburger which was perfect, ask for the Montreal seasoning. The biscuits and gravy were superb but not too heavy, a testament to the chefs magic and the eggs cooked to perfection. Try the Chili Gods sauce too. Whether you are a local or just in town to visit, come try the food here and soak up the locals atmosphere.

This place is delicious! I'm not a big pancake person, but they looked good, so we had to try it. Hands down the best I've ever had! I want more! Super fluffy on the inside and a little crispy on the outside. Yummy!!!! Best chicken fried steak I've had. I loved the house potatoes, and the gravy was really good. It's made with bacon drippings, definitely house made! They did forget my toast, but everything was so good I didn't even care. I read a few complaints about the wait time. Ignore that! It's not a really big place and the food is good! What do you really expect. Our food came out popping hot and it was absolutely worth the wait. Great job guys!!!!

Picture says it all. Yum yum tummy satisfier.

Home Style Cafe is THE breakfast place for sure. This local's cafe serves and fantastic stick-to-your-ribs heaping amount of any item on the menu. The biscuits and gravy are just too good. Missed out yesterday on the biscuits by getting in a few minutes late. Got my fix today though. Always a great place to load up your tank before hitting the beaches.

Lunch and dinner at Home Style Cafe

Simple and inexpensive eats. If you're looking for something easy and unpretentious, Home Style Cafe has it right there in the name. Classic diner with eggs, omelets, pancakes, burgers and chicken-fried steak. We were warmly greeted at 7:30 this morning and there was a table ready. As the waitress went over the specials, my plans changed and I went right for the scrambled eggs with kielbasa and cheddar cheese. When it arrived, it was a big portion and tasty. A little hot sauce and BAM! Ready to eat. This really started the day off right in Fort Bragg. [Review 17627 overall - 417 in California - 1146 of 2022.]

There were those extra crunchy pieces at the bottom of the fries. My sister had a chocolate milkshake which was not too thick to get thru the straw, nice chocolate flavor. If you're hungry and are exploring the area around the shops and train may have better luck with your food choices than we did. We decided to share the fish and chips, clam chowder daily special and a piece of banana pie. The server overlooked us after we sat, but had a good sense of humor after I got her attention and we joked about it. After that the service between the two waitresses was spot on and friendly. We asked if the fish and chips could be made into have fish half shrimp, which they did. The food came out quickly and was hot, but the flavor of all the food from the fryer oil was way off. It tasted like burnt peanut oil, just gross. The fish was the only semi tasty item in my opinion. The soup was gritty and thick, and the banana pie had a bland fluffy stale tasting crust. Again, we didn't expect much from this deli but ya never know and our chance of a tasty snack was a fail. I'd give 4 stars for service and 1 star for food.

Waiter was nervous, and did a fine job. Was quick to attend, and got our drinks and soup right out to us. Had to wait for the meals, but that's ok. Had the rock cod sandwich with Caesar salad and one of us had the garlic clams and linguine. Loaded with clams (in their shells, not canned) and the flavor was great. A salad would have been a nice touch with it, but it was a good meal. The sandwiches were ok. The lettuce for it was wilted from being under a heat lamp. The sauce with it lacked flavor, we were expecting a chipotle spicier sauce. It appeared to be a thousand island tartar sauce creation. It was good though. The Caesar was doused in dressing, tasted good and the anchovies were a nice touch. Being a local, it would be nice to tell out of towners to dine there. Standard fare, prices about the same as anywhere else here. The view is the highlight, watching the boats, sea lions and other wildlife is well worth the price.

We arrived around 4:30 or so and seated in the main dining room with a window seat. Our server offered us fresh bread and butter, (not would you like to order) which we were charged $3. Pretty sneaky. Ok, place was recently renovated so not a surprise. We ordered Halibut fish and chips. Menu said it came with a salad. We decided to share the dish and ordered a side salad as well. We did enjoy the Harbor view as we waited for our food. First off the temp of the fish was slightly above warm. They advertise the breading as "beer battered" then rolled in panko. There was nothing light and airy or flavorful about the breading, matter of fact there was no flavor at all. My sister equated the fish to being pulled out of the freezer and tossed into the fryer. The salad was an average salad, nothing memorable about the taste. We also realized there was no Chips to "Fish and chips". When we asked our server she said we didn't get "chips" because we had salad. That was not the description of the dish on the menu but I wasn't going to press the matter because We didn't need the extra tasteless calories. The only thing that made this meal was the great view, not the food. The service was average.
