Thank God I read other peoples reviews. The place is a little hard to find. The sign on top is faded. And the sign in front is for the hotel behind the cafe. We decided to eat breakfast here because they have tables outside. (We have 3 dogs) We took a bench out front not a problem. The owner said that as long as the dogs stay in the stroller we could eat inside. This made our day (it was cold outside). I love that small town community feeling. The owner,who was on the premise totally made us feel at home and welcomed the dogs. The waitress seemed to know most of the regulars. I came here looking for the biscuits and gravy. The pictures looked great. Also got a side of ham. My wife ordered a ham and cheese omelette. Her's came out stuffed with ham. I was kinda surprised considering the price of meat. But definitely a deal for price. Mine came with a plate of biscuits covered in gravy. And a nice slice of fried ham. This is not an easy restaurant to find. We drove past it 3 time and still couldn't find it. If you look on Google Maps they show a pic of it as a blue building. As it turns out. It's right behind the Sea Bird lodge sign and next to Chevron. Once you found it you can't miss it. From what we can see there is no signage on the restaurant with the name on it or we totally missed it. It's not a new restaurant. It's got that homey feel to it. I'm guessing it's a mom and pop shop, a small business. And we should support those local all businesses and not hit up Dennys if we can. We waked in at 7:08an in Wednesday, May 6, 2026. The place was quiet. One others gentleman was there. When we left a party of 3 were just settling in. They have a full menu two sided that they hand out upon entry that is laminated. You are welcome to sit anywhere. We chose a window seat in the front corner. The temperature was pleasant inside and I was able to shed my heavy jacket and was comfortable in my jeans and a light sweater. They have 2 whiteboards of additional specials. We got the bacon, cheese, and bacon omelet with a side of potato's and a biscuit. You have choices of toast, pancake, or biscuit. As for potatoes you could have gotten a potato patty instead. The servings were huge. We only ate half and were full. Now we have leftovers for tomorrow's breakfast. The potatoes were real fresh potatoes. Some still had the sling on them. They were cooked on the griddle. I should have asked for mine extra crispy as I like crispy potatoes. They weren't salty or really seasoned at all so I added some salt and paired it with ketchup. Very tasty. The omelette was chuck full of crispy bacon and avocado , it could have used more cheese. The biscuit was light and flaky, but it lacked the buttery flavor. It was a true big biscuit that was home made. There was an array of jams and jellies to choose from and peanut butter. We chose apricot. Overall it was a good breakfast and I highly Reccomend this place if your hotel doesn't offer a free breakfast like ours didn't. It was also nice that we could walk over from our hotel. read more

I heard they were known for their biscuits and gravy so that's what I ordered, honestly wasn't anything special to me, although the biscuits themselves were pretty good. She didn't acknowledge us for saying thank you you welcome anything very rude brought us dirty silverware we asked for it to be exchanged. She just picked it up and walked away without saying I'm sorry or anything. Her attitude was terrible. The food was OK but her service and her attitude towards the customers poor poor poor. unless you are a local tourist service was absolutely the worst I've experienced. We've been to other cafés in the morning. Our experience was bad from the moment we walked in. 1. Nobody in there but service was slow 2. Didn't tell us the fryer was down until after we sat down and ordered drinks. So we couldn't order fries or anything. 3. My husband asked for biscuits and gravy, but they didn't have enough biscuits so he changes to a bacon burger well done and it came pink. 4. The lady asked us if we would like choose another side since we couldn't get fries with our burgers so we did not knowing ( it's not posted on the menu and the waitress did not inform us) that they were all a separate charge of $6.50. I got 1 scoop of potatoes salad which I didn't eat all of because it had so much relish and onions in it. 5. Got the bill and about died...$93.00 for 3 burgers, 3 sodas a vanilla shake, side of fruit, side of mashed potatoes which was a large spoonful and mostly gravy and a small scoop of potatoes salad. We literally went there to save money instead of eating at the brewery. Most sit-down Cafe type places give you a side of the burger is $15. Plus $3.50 charge to use your card. Very disappointed and when I asked to discuss the bill the girl acted kinda rude and did not help us out at all. She just said sides aren't included. We had a huge seafood plate for dinner with 32oz beers the night before for $75. Ugh...so frustrating. Lesson learned to ask a lot of questions before ordering. read more

After a busy work night last night I decided to let someone else cook breakfast and after a bit of shopping for necessities, I chose Homestyle Cafe. Cordelia has been a fixture in the culinary scene here for a long time and she is known for great food with a good presentation for a fair price. I was dying for a hamburger which was perfect, ask for the Montreal seasoning. The biscuits and gravy were superb but not too heavy, a testament to the chefs magic and the eggs cooked to perfection. This locally owned restaurant was suggested to my friend and I. We were seated and given menus right away. It is a little small inside and they have I think two picnic benches outside for dining out there as well. They offered breakfast meals ranging from egg platters, french toast, waffles, pancakes, omelettes, sandwiches, huevos rancheros, and burrito. I chose the western omelette with a pancake. My friend chose the french toast combo. We waited about 15 minutes for food to arrive. my personal opinion on the omelette was that it was ok I did have to add extra seasoning on mine. The veggies and ham were largely chopped and I'm not too sure how I feel about it. The ham was a little cold as well. No seasoning on the potatoes so had to add that, which I think its pretty typical for most places anyways. I did order a side of sour cream to have with my omelette. I had a bite of my friends french toast and thought it tasted good, but my friend did not enjoy it. She stated it was "over battered and over cooked and had no flavor". I'm giving 3 stars because I just feel the whole experience was "ok". Our server was the normal friendly. I think there were only two servers and they both seemed busy. I paid $2.75 for a side of sour cream, which seems pretty extreme to me because I don't think I've ever paid that much for a side of anything before. We were told the biscuits and gravy was the star of the show, but neither of us had that so maybe I'd have try it if we ever came back. read more

I come here now and again, no problems, and like the hometown vibe. It was lunch time and not too many tables occupied. Placed an order for soup to start and a sandwich. Both came at the same time and it took quite a while to be served. Soup was a VERY small cup for almost seven dollars, the sandwich was generous, both had good flavor. One server, but the place was only half full. Never checked on me, never asked if everything was OK, never offered a refill of my iced tea and finally had to catch her eye to get my check--I had 1/2 the sandwich and fries left to take and had to ask for a to-go box--at that point I was glad to leave. I enjoyed the steak sandwich not too long ago and thought it was excellent with a friendly server to boot. After I was seated I was won over quickly by what coffee would you like light or dark brew then they brought me a carafe, perfect! Decided on something simple the French toast it was light fluffy coated with a perfect egg batter and served warm with WHIPPED butter. Pleasantly surprised by this little breakfast place. Classic diner style inside, with the yummy diner smell to go along with it. I'm honestly not much of a breakfast person, but my friend is, so here we went! I ordered a cup of coffee and the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. They just had regular coffee (though could choose from dark or light roast - I got dark roast), but it tasted very good with some cream and sugar. Plus it's endless coffee, and our waitress def asked if I wanted more (though I didn't - I only need one cup of coffee a day haha). The bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich was really yummy - you could choose what bread you wanted, and I was so excited to hear I could actually choose biscuits among the other choices of sliced bread. As a biscuit sandwich, I loved it and ended up eating both biscuits that came with my order. A lot more than I was expecting, but I think it's because I asked for the biscuits which of course are smaller than slices of bread. You could choose between potatoes and fruit, and I chose the fruit which was yummy. Our waitress was very attentive and asked if I wanted my coffee topped off a couple times.
