Chile Relleno "wet" burrito and crispy taquitos with carnitas.

Went to La Palapa last night for dinner. It is a relatively little restaurant but felt very homey. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We had the crispy taquitos with carnitas and it was the best entree we ordered. We also had chile relleno burrito. The burrito was massive and tasty. I wish the sauce on top of the burrito were a bit thicker. Overall a really good meal and will definitely return.

It's not hard to believe that my best Pacific Coast food experience was at La Palapa Mexican Restaurant. Nowhere else we've tried even comes close to what we experienced here. Sure is expensive, but worth it compared to others. We had tacos, quesadillas, and burritos -- everything was good, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. They also offer a great selection of salsas so you can customize your tacos just the way you like them. Highly recommend! Lengua Tacos, I added salt, green salsa, red hot oil, and lime. Fish taco was perfect the way it came, with a little bit of lime. Asada Tijuana taco, hot oil and lime, and wow that was perfect. The burrito, Lengua, well my son enjoyed every bite. "Dad this was the best so far". Come try for yourself, I almost didn't because of some bad review. You must try. The service is also great. The server came to check on us multiple times. This small restaurant is a must try.

It's been a couple years since I went to Ft Bragg. This is the one thing I craved the most. Their shrimp burrito is one of my favorites. They were very busy on this Friday night. The food took about 20 minutes which was fine. I can't wait till I'm in the Ft Bragg area again.

This is my first experience with La Palapa, and it was a good one. I was greeted promptly as if I was the only one in the room. After a few questions I decided to take it to go so I skipped a burrito and chose the special, Birria de Res with rice and beans. As you can see it's a very hearty portion almost enough for two. The rice was good and the beans cheesy. I was very impressed with the salsa, it may be the best not tomatillo based one. Everything was there in ample proportion and well made. A really good local spot.

I have been visiting this spot lately and I must say I am happy that I did. The food is authentic and is full of flavor. The service here is great. The business is family ran so you never know what family member will serve you, but whatever one you get they are always friendly. I love this place as it is small and easy to find a seat. The murals on the wall are a blessing to the eyes.

The food was fresh and delicious. Our server was attentive and courteous. Ordered the pork birria, huevos con chorizo and a burrito. Good size serving.

Food was excellent. I had carne asada. The beef was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. Even the rice and beans were good. Chips and salsa were very fresh. Convenient curbside parking right outside the door. This restaurant doesn't have great curb appeal, but once you get inside things are very nice.

Combo plate with 3 items: pork tamale, beef enchilada, and beef hard taco. 3 Quesabirrias with consome

The homemade tortillas were incredibly fresh, soft, and flavorful, and you could really taste the care that went into every dish. I also brought my two dogs, and it was the perfect spot for them! The employees were so kind and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. 10/10 all around -- delicious food, wonderful people, and such a dog-friendly atmosphere. We ordered the Mayan dip, papatzul, and it was the highlight of our meal. My husband was astounded by the $15 price tag on a few ounces of dip surrounded by housemade tortilla chips that definitely could have come from a bag, ngl. It was pretty interesting and flavorful, but definitely was not good value. I ordered the Mayan tamales and was severely disappointed. Other than being wrapped in a banana leaf instead of a corn husk, this was your average to mediocre tamale. Also I ordered the rajas tamal, one with cheese and one with chicken. I guess I should have known that both are rajas, the chicken one just comes with a handful of (average) chicken tinga on top. My husband ordered the fried cod sandwich which was fine. We've never seen a slice of bread that large, but overall, it was a pretty basic sandwich. Good but not special. Overall, I would definitely skip this place. Try something better!

We loved the atmosphere which they have live music playing! Our server was very kind and gave us recommendations. We were able to split and share a Cesar salad and they gave two plates to share which was kind instead of one big plate and we appreciated that. I give 4/5 stars for the quality of the food only because I felt the spaghetti noodles were a little salty along with the sauce being salty. I love love love spaghetti and this was the first time I've been to an Italian restaurant and felt something was salty because I'm never one to complain. It could have been an off day but from the time we ordered to the actual dinner entrees to come took more than 20 minutes and it wasn't too crowded. Also, we ordered cannolis and the shell didn't seem crunchy/fresh but the flavor was there and the texture of the ricotta was smooth! For a couple who ordered 2 appetizers , two main entrees, one bottle of red wine , and two cannolis to share, we spent about 200 which was a little bit pricier than we usual experience at a typical Italian restaurant so just a heads up. Otherwise, this is a good place for fine dining in the area with nice staff and good portion food

We were in the mood for pasta/italian. Okay....I wasn't…read moregoing to write a review this time because small towns and local restaurants need to survive so I didn't take any photos. I was just expecting decent. But I think what's unsettling is the price point so here is what we thought so you can make your own decision. I had a starter, the PAN SEARED DAY BOAT SCALLOPS. With this dish you get 3 scallops. I imagined typical-sized scallops but these were super small, about the size of a quarter (coin). The sauce and fennel salad tasted fine but for price I was imagining bigger. I think these were $24. The scallops were not that "fresh off the boat" taste, but edible. For price, I would say $18 at most. To be fair. The pasta with marinara was decent, but for boxed pasta and most likely canned sauce, $30 is a bit much to ask. We Asked for extra Parmesan cheese, instead of freshly shredded at the table, it came in a dish. That's more about being an Italian restaurant than cost. But to far, $20-$22, with fresh Parmesan! Not $30. We also ordered a mixed green salad, which was more like a side salad for 1. Again overpriced. The waiter said it was enough for 2 but it's not that big! Maybe 1 person eats and the 2nd person gets 2 bites. We did like the dressing. So in the end, the food was just okay (not fresh) but what made it all hard to swallow was the price point for quality ratio. Big city prices. $100, for 2. ;a plate of pasta, a starter, 1 salad, & 2 glasses of wine).
