We ordered the Tapas Trio, Traditional Cochinita Pibil, and the Cioppino, and every dish was outstanding. The appetizer was packed with flavor, the pibil was beautifully seasoned and tender, and the cioppino had a rich, layered broth that was delicious without being overpowering. We started with the zucchini, which was lightly breaded, not too oily, and super flavorful. We also got the nachos -- the melted cheese on top was good, but the guac really stood out. Definitely a great dish to share. I ordered the Chicken Chile Verde Enchiladas, which were honestly more like tacos than enchiladas, but the verde salsa was really delicious. It came with a side of rice and beans, and the portions were huge. Prices were also pretty reasonable for how much food you get. The inside was really eclectic and fun -- every wall and table was decorated differently. It did smell pretty strongly of fish when we were there, but it didn't bother me too much. Dinner with friends here while in town recently. We had reservations for 7:30 and were greeted while walking in and seated within the same moment. Heavy wood interior, a smaller place is intimate and cozy. Our server was kind and professional, brought our menus while greeting us, and took drink orders to get us going. Returning with our drinks, got our evenings entrees placed with no order pad for notes. I went with the Halibut over rice, and it was very good to excellent, a nice presentation and great flavors. A solid choice for a great meal if you like fresh seafood. Came here Wednesday evening, and it wasn't busy at all. We got sat by the windows which was nice, but there was a big plant between our table and another which obstructed your view and in the way of you need to get by. Our waitress was nice, but was gone quite a bit for how busy it wasn't. I got the NY Steak which was tender and juicy, but no flavor. The mashed potatoes were good, but still lumpy. And the veggies were what they were. My wife liked her fish & chips, but thought the batter was just okay. The fries did what they did, and the coleslaw was alright. This place is nice, but could use some adjustments in a couple areas. Overall, I'd probably go back to try another dish. read more

We had plenty of shrimp and fish&chips on this weekend and decided to get something a little different. Husband chose Mayan Fusion - what a great decision! The margaritas were nice and strong and the food was just delicious. Everything was brought out with a smile, our reservation was on time though the place was hopping, the ceviche was my favorite - oh I love ceviche, and this was lovely with the avocado on top. Everything was soo good - we couldn't eat it all so we brought the leftovers to the hotel with us and about an hour later we ate those, too! Oh, and the panucho! Order that! It was so good! Service was absolutely AMAZING!! The staff were so sweet, friendly and personable. Our waiter made jokes and made sure we were taken care of at all times. They had live music and it really set the mood. The restaurant is pretty small but it's cozy. They also have beautiful art all around the room. Their drinks and calamari were top tier. Definitely delicious. As for the Clam Linguini, i was a bit disappointed. The sauce was too watery and lacked flavor. I wouldn't order it again. I came here by myself for dinner. I was a little road weary after driving 4.5 hours. I was seated right away. The service was prompt and friendly. I ordered the fish tacos. They were tasty.. they are served open faced on small corn tortillas with a side of black beans and spanish rice. This was a late night stop right before closing in sleepy Fort Bragg. The Cham chowder was delicious. Recommend. The appetizer (coconut shrimp) was good but the only weird thing was it came with peanut sauce- we also had the chicken verde enchiladas and they were not rolled up like a traditional enchilada but more of stacked together. Salmon we ordered was ok, however we ordered Fish n chips halibut for $37 for a meal. It came with 3 really small fish the size of the fingers put together and a handful of fries. For $37 that was a stupid amount of $$$ for that. On top of it, the halibut was over cooked and was hard. The waitress we had was giving us attitude and when we got the check, she said a party of 5 needs to pay a gratuity but the price you pay is up to you. #1 we had two kids with us that didint even order as they ate from our plates because they are small. #2 You never checked up on us throughout the entire meal, never gave us water refills, never asked us how the food was, etc. You were lucky we gave any tip at all as we should not have given any since we never got any service except food being brought to us. We are from out of town and this was our first time visiting this wonderful town, but they did manage to put a bad taste in our minds. $105 for three plates of food. 2 of them were ok and the halibut was just plain sad especially with the service we got. Finished it off with lava cake with spicy chocolate ice cream and horchata cheesecake for dessert. The ceviche was cooked well with a great texture while the dip was warm with the perfect amount of spice and heat. We all loved the Cioppino - the broth is flavorful and creamy but not heavy. I was saddened to learn that they had discontinued their Mayan Fusion version of clam chowder, which I had fallen in love with. The server said that no one ordered it, and always requested the traditional variety. This makes me sad as it is just another example of white people with their pedestrian flavor profiles not wanting to step out of their comfort zone. Our last foodie stop of our trip. We came back to Mayan Fusion since our last visit was so memorable. This time was memorable too, but not in a good way. While we had top notch service from our waiter, the food this time around was not as good as we remembered. We ordered the Mayan clam chowder, octopus ceviche, NY kebabs, Mayan cioppino and lava cake with vanilla bean ice cream. Besides the octopus ceviche, everything was sadly bland. I was hoping the Mayan clam chowder would have some spices in it since it was labeled as "Mayan clam chowder (red)"--it did not. The NY kebabs were also bland. The flavors in this dish came from the chimchurri and chips that it came with. The meat wasn't tender and didn't even taste salted. The cioppino too was also lacking flavor, the best part was actually the toast on the side. I'm hoping this was just a fluke since we came right when they opened for lunch and were the very first people there. We have liked our experiences here before and hopefully when we come back it'll be as good as we had from previous visits. read more
