We were seeking a non-American cuisine after having a recent seafood lunch in Ft. Bragg. For dinner, something a little different. Mayan Fusion fit the bill in spades. It's a very colorful, inviting restaurant with artwork of tango dancers (owner's passion) on the wall. Staff is welcoming and warm. We enjoyed a chile relleno with seafood stuffing (although, surprise, we got the 1 in 10 hot peppers!) which was rich in flavors and well presented. The pork oso bucco was cooked just right with the meat falling off the shank bone. One didn't really need a knife as the meat was so tender. Flavors are intense and pleasant. We visited Fort Bragg and turned to Yelp for recommendations, and Mayan Fusion absolutely delivered. This place is bursting with bold, authentic flavors and offers a true gastronomic experience. We ordered the Tapas Trio, Traditional Cochinita Pibil, and the Cioppino, and every dish was outstanding. The appetizer was packed with flavor, the pibil was beautifully seasoned and tender, and the cioppino had a rich, layered broth that was delicious without being overpowering. We ordered the Mayan dip, papatzul, and it was the highlight of our meal. My husband was astounded by the $15 price tag on a few ounces of dip surrounded by housemade tortilla chips that definitely could have come from a bag, ngl. It was pretty interesting and flavorful, but definitely was not good value. I ordered the Mayan tamales and was severely disappointed. Other than being wrapped in a banana leaf instead of a corn husk, this was your average to mediocre tamale. Also I ordered the rajas tamal, one with cheese and one with chicken. I guess I should have known that both are rajas, the chicken one just comes with a handful of (average) chicken tinga on top. My husband ordered the fried cod sandwich which was fine. We've never seen a slice of bread that large, but overall, it was a pretty basic sandwich. Good but not special. Overall, I would definitely skip this place. Try something better! read more

We came here based on the Yelp reviews and so glad we did! We tried the Caesar salad and the roasted tomatoes dip. Both were good! For the meals, we tried the chicken mole, which was less smoky and more on the sweeter side, but good. Served with rice and beans, both of which were yummy. We also had the bowl with chicken, cheese, rice, and beans. Quite flavorful!! And the last entree was my favorite, it was the grilled fish tacos. Also served with rice and black beans. The prickly pear margarita was yummy! If we weren't so full, we would have tried the flan or the flourless chocolate cake. Highly recommend this place for the food. I got the fish tacos and they were really really good and the waitress knew I didn't like beans and rice on the side so she gave me a side salad instead which was amazing. Dinner with friends here while in town recently. We had reservations for 7:30 and were greeted while walking in and seated within the same moment. Heavy wood interior, a smaller place is intimate and cozy. Our server was kind and professional, brought our menus while greeting us, and took drink orders to get us going. Returning with our drinks, got our evenings entrees placed with no order pad for notes. I went with the Halibut over rice, and it was very good to excellent, a nice presentation and great flavors. A solid choice for a great meal if you like fresh seafood. We got sat by the windows which was nice, but there was a big plant between our table and another which obstructed your view and in the way of you need to get by. Our waitress was nice, but was gone quite a bit for how busy it wasn't. I got the NY Steak which was tender and juicy, but no flavor. The mashed potatoes were good, but still lumpy. And the veggies were what they were. My wife liked her fish & chips, but thought the batter was just okay. The fries did what they did, and the coleslaw was alright. This place is nice, but could use some adjustments in a couple areas. Overall, I'd probably go back to try another dish. read more

When we arrived there was one table seated. After 25 minutes of sitting and not being greeted by the wait staff, we stood up to leave. As we left, the fourth table that was sat was receiving their food. The table that was already there when we arrived saw us stand up to leave, shook their heads and apologized on behalf of their poor service. We were recommended to try this place while staying in Fort Bragg for the night, and it ended up being one of the most flavorful meals we had in the area. We started with the zucchini, which was lightly breaded, not too oily, and super flavorful. We also got the nachos -- the melted cheese on top was good, but the guac really stood out. Definitely a great dish to share. I ordered the Chicken Chile Verde Enchiladas, which were honestly more like tacos than enchiladas, but the verde salsa was really delicious. It came with a side of rice and beans, and the portions were huge. Prices were also pretty reasonable for how much food you get. The inside was really eclectic and fun -- every wall and table was decorated differently. It did smell pretty strongly of fish when we were there, but it didn't bother me too much. We had plenty of shrimp and fish&chips on this weekend and decided to get something a little different. Husband chose Mayan Fusion - what a great decision! The margaritas were nice and strong and the food was just delicious. Everything was brought out with a smile, our reservation was on time though the place was hopping, the ceviche was my favorite - oh I love ceviche, and this was lovely with the avocado on top. Service was absolutely AMAZING!! The staff were so sweet, friendly and personable. Our waiter made jokes and made sure we were taken care of at all times. They had live music and it really set the mood. The restaurant is pretty small but it's cozy. They also have beautiful art all around the room. Their drinks and calamari were top tier. Definitely delicious. As for the Clam Linguini, i was a bit disappointed. The sauce was too watery and lacked flavor. I wouldn't order it again. We came here to try something new. The food was fresh, hot, and very flavorful! The shrimp ceviche was light, with an excellent balance of crisp texture and sourness. The trio was outstanding, as was the steamed muscles and clams. I'm Italian, and was skeptical on the "cream" in the sauce. My girlfriend and I had dinner at Mayan Fusion on Thursday, May 27, 2026. We both had the Salmon special with sweet corn and asparagus. The salmon was covered with a champagne cream sauce. The salmon was very fresh having been caught the day before. The vegetables were cooked to perfection. We had lava cake for dessert. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give the food a 10. The service was phenomenal. The staff were prompt and accommodating, Chef Silver came out and visited each table during the dinner. The ambiance was wonderful with art and objects from the Yucatán peninsula, Chef Silver's home, displayed throughout the restaurant. I would give the service and ambiance a 10 as well. The appetizer (coconut shrimp) was good but the only weird thing was it came with peanut sauce- we also had the chicken verde enchiladas and they were not rolled up like a traditional enchilada but more of stacked together.
