    Valentines special
    Linyi Y.

Last minute decision to have a sweet Valentine's Day dinner at cucina verona during our Mendocino getaway So lucky they were able to squeeze us in because everywhere was packed! They had a special Valentine's menu, so we ordered the lamb shank and the red Cuori in heart shapes . But honestly, our favorite were the fresh oysters So good! Although the main entrees didn't meet our satisfaction, the waitresses were so kind and lovely -- such a warm and cozy night to remember.

Good food, great service, eclectic environment! Enjoyed the crab cakes! Delicious. I had the minestrone soup as well and it was very tasty

Our first time here since we live out of town...what a treat! I had the butternut lasagna and my husband had the Lasagna Al Forno. Both were delicious, as was the Caesar Salad. Our server, Luis, was also great and attentive. On the way out we met Kathleen Murray, the owner of Cucina Verona, a very amiable and nice person. Hope to be back here again!

I love this Minestrone Soup! and the Spring Greens with basil vinaigrette. Tuesday Family Dinnt 11/18/25

Petrale Sole is the birthday celebration dinner selection for the 79th year! accompanied by the Tuesday Family Dinner 11/18/25 with a cup of minestrone soup and spring greens with basil vinaigrette; pasta with delectable walnut sauce; and the fantastic goat stew on polenta. A memorable celebration evening.

Went here the day after Valentine's Day and they still had their Valentine's Day menu available. That was the best lamb I've had in two decades and the heart shaped pasta was as amazing as the service. They had live music to set the vibes as well. Thank you to Helen for the amazing music that set the mood for the evening. You were all amazing, thank you for the meal!

Very nice and cozy space with love music. The server was very attentive and flexible. We got a dinner set with a pizza and the price was really good with the amount of food we got. The pizza tasted phenomenal and I also got a beef stew that came with the dinner set.

Great restaurant! Had the most amazing scallops appetizer ever! Was expecting just some scallops but it came with shrimp and a sauce/risotto mixture. Was Devine! Sat at bar on Christmas and watched the game. Bartender was so friendly and accommodating and helpful to us old tourists. Will go again!!!!!

I walked up as a solo diner and sat at a small table in the bar area. Recommend making reservations if you're more than 1 person. Service was good! You could tell it was a little busy and hectic but I wasn't in a rush. Food had great taste! I'm picky on my carbonara- this was a little garlic heavy and you can tell they didn't incorporate the egg properly (had some chunks of egg when it should be smooth), but overall was very happy! The flavor was good (I don't mind some extra garlic), pasta was cooked perfectly al dente. My server recommended the limoncello mascarpone cake and I'm so glad I went with it! Not overly sweet, light subtle flavors. Cake was deliciously soft and pillowy. Oh and I did start with a cup of minestrone- DELICIOUS! I almost ordered another cup. Came out piping hot, lots of veggies and delicious flavor. I inhaled it before I could get a picture.

And we're so glad we did. I had my doubts about this as all seating is outside and it's a little chilly out. As it turns out you eat in a tent with lots of heaters. I'm surprised the tent doesn't melt as it's so warm in there. I was happily impressed with the seating. There is lots of seating. There is also some seating on the deck without heaters and there were still people eating out there. There are mostly picnic tables you sit at snd share with other families. It's not shoulder to shoulder. There is a big gap between parties. So it was really comfortable. Their specialty is fish tacos, either grilled or fried. Most people got the tacos, next was the fish and chips and that is what we got. A basket includes chips and 3 large pieces of fish. The fish is very generous. We really enjoyed the fish and chips. The fish was moist and crispy perfect. And it was fresh and didn't taste fishy. The fries were crispy like I like them. The cup on clam chowder was the perfect size. It was creamy and full of clams and potatoes. This was the perfect size meal for two adults. They have a water cooler and cups for a self serve water station near the silverware. I recommend this restaurant to everyone and I'd come back again.

There were about 5 seats at the windows inside, which I took one of. The lobster bisque is superb and the seafood Louie salad is perfect. I have had the crab rolls in the past, they are the bomb. I'm not a fan of their NE style clam chowder(it has corn in it) but my family loves it. The fish tacos are also very good, and they give multiple fish options for most items. The salmon burger is also very good, as well as the oysters. Not to mention the view - never disappoints. Something for everyone, it is the spot to go in the harbor!

Yesterday was one of those days. The team at Sea Pal Cove invited me in to sample their Valentine's Day special, and let me tell you, they absolutely knocked it out of the park. They're offering a Valentine's meal for two that includes Shrimp Scampi , a calamari appetizer served with their famous chipotle dipping sauce, garlic bread, cheesecake, and two drinks all for $50. Yes, fifty dollars. Add in some of the best views in town, and you're already winning before the first bite. Now, if you know me, you know I don't play small when it comes to food. I brought along my friend Johnny Ramey, who knows his way around a plate as well as anyone I trust. Portion size alone left us both full, but more importantly, every dish delivered on flavor. The shrimp scampi was rich and satisfying, the calamari was perfectly cooked, and that chipotle sauce deserves its own fan club. Dessert sealed the deal, and the drinks paired nicely with a view that reminds you why we live here. Great food, generous portions, fair pricing, and a setting that does half the talking for you. If you're looking for a Valentine's dinner that feels special without feeling overpriced or pretentious, Sea Pal Cove nailed it. This is one of those meals that reminds you how lucky we are to have spots like this right in our own harbor.

The Wait: We sat for over 20 minutes before receiving water or placing our order. It took at least another 30 minutes for our very first dish to arrive. The Food: The steamer clams were overly salty and full of sand. One of the oysters was also shockingly tiny. When we pointed this out, the waitress claimed extra oysters had been added to the shells, but we did not see any evidence of that. The Service: Basic service was missing. We never received water refills, and our empty shell plates were never cleared, leaving a massive pile of clutter on the table. The Bill & Gratuity: A 20% gratuity was automatically added because we were a party of 6 (5 adults and a baby). After we expressed our dissatisfaction, the waitress did remove the automatic charge and said sorry that we didn't like the food. However, her apology felt insincere and making it clear she was mostly upset about losing part of her tip. We still left a 12% tip out of courtesy, but given the combination of poorly prepared food and unattentive service, we will not be returning.

Kimchi Crab Cakes (2.75/5): I wanted to like these more than I did, but unfortunately I just thought the kimchi flavor was pretty lackluster and also tamped down the sweetness of the crab. The crab cakes are mostly crab, which is nice, but I'd skip this one. Grilled Oysters w/ Lemon Garlic Butter (4/5): Fresh oysters grilled to order, what's not to be happy about. The garlic was fresh and the oysters weren't fishy; all around solid option. Clam Chowder (4/5): A nice clam chowder. Nothing crazy and good amount of clams. Exactly what you'd expect. A salad would have been a nice touch with it, but it was a good meal. The sandwiches were ok. The lettuce for it was wilted from being under a heat lamp. The sauce with it lacked flavor, we were expecting a chipotle spicier sauce. It appeared to be a thousand island tartar sauce creation. It was good though. The Caesar was doused in dressing, tasted good and the anchovies were a nice touch. Being a local, it would be nice to tell out of towners to dine there. We arrived around 4:30 or so and seated in the main dining room with a window seat. Our server offered us fresh bread and butter, (not would you like to order) which we were charged $3. Pretty sneaky. Ok, place was recently renovated so not a surprise. We ordered Halibut fish and chips. Menu said it came with a salad. We decided to share the dish and ordered a side salad as well. We did enjoy the Harbor view as we waited for our food. First off the temp of the fish was slightly above warm. They advertise the breading as "beer battered" then rolled in panko. There was nothing light and airy or flavorful about the breading, matter of fact there was no flavor at all. My sister equated the fish to being pulled out of the freezer and tossed into the fryer. The salad was an average salad, nothing memorable about the taste. We also realized there was no Chips to "Fish and chips". When we asked our server she said we didn't get "chips" because we had salad. That was not the description of the dish on the menu but I wasn't going to press the matter because We didn't need the extra tasteless calories. The only thing that made this meal was the great view, not the food. The service was average.
