Love that this is is a place where you order your food and sit down. The place is by the water and you can see the people woth their boats passing by. I really enjoyed the crab roll and for the sides I chose the potato salad and my bf got chips on his side. If i were to add one thing it would be more mayo on the crab roll since I felt like it was missing a bit of flavor. But it was still really good Another thing I enjoyed were the grilled oysters! So sumptuous and good portions.
The poke bowl was new to us, and it is offered seared or raw. Excellent. Crab Louie salad excellent as was the crab sandwich and lobster bisque. View is always a plus.
Princess is delicious! Very casual dining. You order at a window and the food is brought to your table. The service is great. The staff is very friendly. This place is popular even in the off season. I love that everything tastes fresh.
Came with a wedding party for a group lunch at Princess Seafood Restaurant on Friday. I got the full crab roll with clam chowder and a cherry cider to wash it all down. The crab was sweet and delicious. They definitely did not skimp out on the amount of crab in the crab roll which was great. I liked the creamy and thickness of the clam chowder and was really glad that it wasn't too salty which is usually my fear. I really enjoyed the cherry cider as my beverage. It is refreshing, fruity, and light. It tastes like juice pretty much. Just a nice touch of sweetness and acidity to balance out the meal. I was grateful to the employees for getting our orders out in a timely fashion. There was a bit of a mix up with some of the orders but it happens with big parties and for the most part everything was correct! Overall, I had a great meal here and would definitely come back next time I'm in the area.
If you're thinking this place feels like any other seafood place in a tourist town (malibu, monterey, etc), then prepare to have your viewpoints altered. While the checkered paper, fresh seafood, outdoor seating and walk up to order may all be part of the experience, this is probably the best seafood I've had in one of these beach towns. I ordered a shrimp cocktail, crab sandwich with chowder and blackened cod plate. The shrimp cocktail contains a surprising amount of shrimp for the price - and you can definitely taste how fresh the shrimp is! The crab sandwich was pretty good and light, but I feel like the blackened cod overshadowed everything. The cod was so flavorful, and you get 4-5 pieces. It's a cajun style seasoning where you can taste the spice - to a point it may be a little too spicy for people with low spice tolerance. The bread is buttered and the salad is fresh - you could not ask for a better meal. The clam chowder is a little different from most other places; they add some seasonings and spice to the chowder so it's not the traditional creamy, heavy soup you're expecting. It's like clam chowder premium, I prefer their version over a more traditional version. The view of the turquoise colored water is amazing from their indoor patio, as it's covered in windows. They also have an outdoor patio where you can take pictures of the color. The line to order was quick, but we saw that the line can get long with extended wait times depending on customer numbers. Water is self serve, and you also bus your own plates. When visiting Fort Bragg, you have to come to eat here, for the food, the view, and the service!
Found this place on yelp and wow this place is a gem! Ordered the 1/2 Crab Sandwich, Clam Chowder, and sour Guava Beer. Crab Sandwich: Wow this sandwich is good!!! I usually go to an SF giants game to get a good crab sandwich but this one here is soooo good and juicy!! So sad I got the half and went back the next day and got the full size Dungeness!! If you have a big appetite get the full! Clam Chowder: i have been to Seattle, Santa Cruz, Monterey etc and this clam chowder is on my top 3.... I was sooo surprised when I tried it. The clam chowder you can upgrade to a cup with the crab sandwich but man you'll want a bowl to yourself. I ended up getting a bowl to go for on the road and it's still good to go! You won't regret it. This place is a gem for the clam chowder and I promise you won't be upset. DO NOT CHANGE THE RECIPE everyone I talked to loves it and I will be coming back! Guava Beer: I like sours and they recommended the guava sour beer and it's a good one!! Sad they ran out the next day!! They also have pliney on tap and other good selections. Service here is great. Delicious, affordable seafood! We started with 6 oysters, AMAZING I had the cup of clam chowder & seared ahi poke bowl over salad no rice. It was delicious. My friend had the blackened cod sandwich with cole slaw and loved it.
TL;DR: - there are a ton of seating both indoor and outdoor that overlooks the beautiful water. if you're local, you'll see the local sea otter bobbing up and down. mixed alcoholic drinks had the perfect ratio, oysters and octopus ceviche were fresh and perfectly seasoned. parking: - lots of parking available even though there was line to order wait time: - about 15 mins to put an order and about 5 mins for our food to arrive ambiance: - beautiful and scenic upscale pirate-like vibes service: - fast and considerate. food: [Worth It] - Blood Orange Margarita with salted rim: perfectly sweetened with the right amount of alcohol. it came out refreshing even with the artificial blood orange syrup. - Blood Orange Hef: refreshing with a nice subtle hint of citrus. ther are also lots of local draft beers available at a reasonable price of $8 a glass. - Octopus Ceviche: while seeing the tentacles may be off-putting to some, it was perfectly cooked so biting it to it was tender vs overly chewy. It went well with the chips. the only complaint was the ratio of chips was drastically more than the salad! - BBQ and Raw Oysters: you can taste the freshness! - Blackened Grilled Local Rock Cod: came with a salad and bread. it was perfectly seasoned and not overcooked.
Our first time eating at Princess and it did not disappoint. We started with the spicy crab dip, and then the table had fish tacos, a beyond burger, and a salmon burger., plus some Cali Squeeze beers and iced tea. The patio has great ocean views and the food came out quickly.
We grabbed lunch at Princess Seafood to shelter from the rain in Mendocino after exploring in the morning. They have a seafood market nearby and a restaurant where they serve seafood + fish sandwiches and chowder. Ordering is easy at the window and then you get a placecard to put on your table if you're dining in. They have only a few seats inside but there is a fairly big tent area with heat lamps that was comfortable enough to dine in. Luckily we were visiting during dungeness crab season and they had a special of a 1/2 dungeness crab plate which we grabbed along with a crab sandwich + a cup of lobster bisque on the side. It was a cold and rainy day so we also got 2 cups of hot apple cider which turned out to be delicious with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top. Simple but turned out to be exactly what we needed as we waited for our food. I loved the lobster bisque which had a nice sweetness and didn't feel too heavy. It was great with the salty oyster crackers and I ended up dipping the cold crab sandwich in the bisque. The crab plate was good as well with plenty of meat in the crab. It was served with cole slaw, buttered bread and melted butter on the side to make it a full meal. I only wish the bread was warm as well. Great spot for a casual lunch in Mendocino. I wish the weather was nicer so we could enjoy the view more but would definitely come back the next time I'm in Mendocino.
Highly recommend trying out Princess Seafood if you're in the Fort Bragg area. The vibes were awesome and super chill eating lunch by the water and watching the boats come in and out. We even saw a few seals swim by while we were there!! The food was great and the overall experience was really fun!
Friendly, efficient service, yummy shrimp cocktail, great clam chowder, and the most amazing fresh crab sandwich! Parking can be a little tricky, but it's worth it. Be sure to check this place out if you're in Fort Bragg!
First time ever being in Fort Bragging I mean Brag coming from The Bay Area and a I was looking for oysters for camping someone told me to check out the Princess Seafood. Long story short I check it out enjoy the vibes and the view of the harbor and the food was phenomenal. Definitely going back and the best part about the restaurant it's Women owed so they got my full support.

Highly recommend coming out here and it's worth driving all the way around the bend to find this place! The staff were SO sweet to our doggy and the food is delicious. You get an amazing view of bay, but it's windy and cold, so it'd be wise to bring a thick jacket. I do love their crab rolls. At first I thought the ratio of crab to bread was not enough, but actually the quality and freshness of that bread is not to be looked over. Pics show some other items they offer! read more

Lovely seafood spot with a nice view of sea otters! We got the Grilled Mild Rockfish Plate and Half 1/2 Crab Roll with Lobster Bisque. We loved both! The only critique was that the crab roll was kind of a skimpy and the lobster bisque didnt have any lobster meat but it tasted good. The Rockfish plate was a much better portion size for the price. Food came out in about 10 mins and tasted super fresh. Note: We noticed a long line starting around 1pm on a saturday so I suggest coming earlier to avoid the line. read more

Our lunch destination was quite unexpected. Although we initially intended to dine at Noyo's, their closure led my wife to suggest Princess Seafood Restaurant, which proved to be an excellent choice. I thoroughly enjoyed the clam chowder, noted for its rich consistency. My wife on the other hand, she ordered the crab roll, which was so impressive fresh, plentiful, tasty. I was so impressed that I ordered a second one after tasting hers. This establishment is a noteworthy hidden gem that I highly recommend for its high-quality, fresh ingredients and exceptional service. We were in town and needed a dog friendly restaurant. This is a order at the window,then they bring out the food to your table. The have 2 outdoor patios. One covered,one not covered. This one has more seats that face the harbor. We ordered the octopus and bay shrimp ceviche,chips and guac,and rockfish tacos. The chips and guac were ok ,the ceviche was pretty good. But the high light was the fish tacos. Grilled and seasoned just perfectly. After a couple of bites,they fell apart. But still really good. The soup looked really good,but since it was a hot day. This was my favorite meal we had while in Mendocino/Fort Bragg which is saying a lot because all the meals we had were great! My husband and I shared: - BBQ Oysters - Lemon Garlic and Chipotle Bourbon - West Coast Crab Roll - Rockfish Sandwich We came here for the crab roll and while it was very good, it was actually my least favorite of the 3 things we ordered. What a lovely place to enjoy lunch! I started off with the chips & dip (guacamole & mango salsa) followed by a crab roll with a side of potato salad. Everything was so fresh and so delicious. Portions were very healthy and in fact, I had to take some leftovers home for later today. Gorgeous view no deep fryer restaurant. Come here when you OD on delicious deep fried seafood lol. We had prawn cocktail $12, bowl of chowder $7, crab sammich $21 and crab louie $23. The louie and chowder were great. The crab sandwich should be on a brioche roll not a thick french roll. The thick roll takes away from delicate crab flavor. Throw in a couple if ciders and tip and our bill hit $90. Quite a bit more than Noyo and just a little less than dinner at Luna Trattoria. Princess is good but I feel your paying a premium for the gorgeous bridge view. read more
AMAZING! Before heading to our campsite at Van Damme, we stopped by Princess Seafood for a quick bite and some beers. The food was so good that we visited 2 more times bringing along more friends each visit. Since we've been Pineapple cider: 5/5 - Refreshing and tasty! Clam chowder: 4/5 - I love the balance ratio of clams and potato and creaminess of the broth. We added garlic bread the 3rd time. Raw oysters: 10/5 - I love raw oysters and these were creamy, pulpy and slightly briny. SOOOO GOOD! If I ever come across Humboldt Bay oysters at a restaurant, I will 100% order them. They are now one of my top 5 favorite oysters. Baked oysters: 4/5 - I preferred the raw oysters but these baked ones were good too! Especially the lemon flavored ones. Prawn Cocktail: 5/5 - FRESH! I never see the value in getting shrimp cocktail at the restaurant but these were so fresh and worth the money. Spicy crab dip: 4/5 - Love the dip! Packed with flavor but the chips are mediocre. Ceviche: 3/5 - generous amount of seafood but nothing outstanding. Again, the chips were mid. Crab sandwich + potato salad 4/5 - LOADED with crab but the bread we had was a little stale. Potato salad was solid! Prawn P'O Boy sandwich: 4/5 - loved the chipotle flavored and the freshness of the shrimp. The food came out fast and the view is amazing! For all three visits there were seals who swam super close by! I highly recommend adding this to your list if you are in Fortbragg! Remember to go to restaurant and not the store if you want to eat with a view! read more
A great seafood spot during our stay in Fort Bragg! It has a nice view and both outdoor and covered seating options. You order at the window counter and then take a seat. We got two styles of oysters, raw and bbq grilled -- the heat on the chipotle is quite spicy. Our son loved the clam chowder and I liked the lobster bisque also. The tomato is sliced thick on the crab roll which was my one minor gripe. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner here and would recommend/return! read more

After years of hearing nothing but wonderful things about this place, I finally made a point to stop in. The clam chowder was absolutely divine! Best I've had on the coast, by far. My partner was equally impressed. Didn't get a chance to take a picture of the oysters. We got mostly chipotle, but asked for a couple garlic ones to try. Not a fan of the garlic, but the chipotle was amazing. Our dogs approved too! The patio seating was exactly what we needed on a beautiful sunny day. read more

This place was such an amazing find! We quickly realized that we were driving through a harbor town and instantly decided to hit up the seafood scene. Thank goodness this place popped up on our quest for delicious food! The clam chowder was everything we hoped it could be - delicious, creamy, flavorful, and loaded with fresh clam pieces. The crab sandwich was just as impressive, generously packed with fresh crab meat. No mayo fillers - just pure, sweet crab in every bite. On top of the food, the setting made the experience even better! Casual meal with the water and bridge right in front of us, couldn't even imagine a better view. We even saw seals swim up! Prices were surprisingly reasonable for the quality and view also :D Service was fantastic - warm, attentive, and friendly. They even have a small dedicated parking lot, which made the visit easy and smooth. Would hands down come back! read more

The seafood here is so tasty and fresh! I spent a couple of days in Fort Bragg recently, and Princess Seafood Restaurant (as well as its market/deli location nearby) was by far my favorite food spot in town. You order and pay at the front, there's self serve water to the side, and there's plenty of open outdoor seating in the back. We ordered raw oysters, a crab and shrimp salad, a crab roll, and a fish plate that was one of the daily specials. The star of the show was the crab roll, which was absolutely delicious. This little restaurant is tucked in the back of the wharf and was one of our highlights of our Pacific NorthWest road trip. Highly recommend. Everything was fresh and delicious! Dogs are welcome. Gluten-free buns are available, which was a win for my husband. read more

Just an update on previous review that Princess Seafood Restaurant remains our top choice for local catch and great seafood preparation. The spices they use on the grilled fish are perfect combination to accentuate the seafood. We will always make time to eat here as many times as possible while visiting. Service is always friendly and you will not find a better view. read more
Got the crab sandwich, dozen oysters, clam chowder, and ahi tacos. Pretty view love how you can eat by the water. Oysters were fresh and tasty. In my opinion the crab sandwich was a miss, nothing too special about it and it lacked flavor. The clam chowder was really good and creamy tho. I came here for lunch. This restaurant is located right at the entrance to the Noyo Harbor (near the end of the road as you're coming down). The seating is outdoor, right by the water on a deck. They have a large covered area and umbrellas on most of the uncovered tables. Since today was partly cloudy and cool, the umbrellas weren't up. I ordered a crab and shrimp Louie salad. It had a lot of shrimp but not much crab on it. It also had chopped tomato, cucumber, sliced hard boiled egg and sliced avocado on a bed of fresh iceberg lettuce. The 1000 island dressing tasted (and appeared to be mostly mayonnaise. The salad was tasty. You order and pay at the counter when you enter the restaurant and they give you an order number to place on your table. The service was fast and friendly. read more

Yes we have amazing scallops, they are not local however because there’s no scallop fishery here. But they large and really tasty.
