Good tasting food. Huge portions. Very reasonable prices. My son got one of the burgers, with a third pound of beef plus a good amount of pulled pork. The only slight complaint was that the fries were a bit salty. However, I liked the battered fries and ate half of them. We also ordered spaghetti, chicken Parmigiana, and lasagna. We only finished the chicken Parmigiana due to the huge portions, but the dish tasted great. The accompanying salad was also huge and tasted great. The service was great. Came here based on reviews, but was disappointed. The server did a good job considering she was the only one working the front of the house. We ordered an appetizer, the club sandwich, the bbq sandwich, and a chicken sandwich. After the appetizer came out our sandwiches took about 30-40 minutes to come out. There were only about 5 tables and two of those had their food. When I went to pay at the counter, (I did not have my ticket yet), I was told my total, with two Cokes was $71. I used Apple Pay and when I got to the car and looked at the receipt I was charged an extra $2 for non-cash. (Yes, I know this is somewhat normal, but I was never told there was an up charge). On top of the excessive time for our sandwiches and the non-disclosed up charge, I was also charged more than the menu price. Also, the Yelp and other online prices are not all correct. This was only $1, but added to all of the other issues this was just bad. I forgot the food review. The food was just ok. The mozzarella sticks were just mozzarella sticks. The $17.95 club sandwich was not worth $18. The $14.95 chicken sandwich was just a skinny piece of breaded chicken. My $15.95(online) $16.95 (menu) $17.95 (charged) pork bbq sandwich was just ok, but definitely not an $18 sandwich. Ps. The fries were good though! read more

This was just a cool, laid back place. They have a good menu and the service was good. Admittedly, I didn't have much, just a half order of a Caesar salad, but what they served was just plenty enough. Oh, and I chased it with a chocolate shake. read more

I ate here in summer 2021. Nice cafe in the redwoods. I think the menu could be tweaked to focus on a few items and do those really well. Customer service was okay. The pizza dipping sauce for the calzone had onions in it which is a dead give away that the cooks and owners are not Italian. read more

We were in town for a wedding and popped in here for dinner. It's small, noisy but a pleasant surprise. If you really want pizza, get your order in early. The table next to us asked for pizza but they were told no more pizza as they were too backed up with prevvious orders. We were starving and it must have shown on our faces, because the server immediately let us know pizzas would take up to 40 minutes but anything from the kitchen would be faster. Well, we got two burgers and a meatball sandwich with a pizza to go. My hubby asked our server to recommend a pizza and he recommended a feta, sausage and artichoke pie. The pizza was amazing. I had a slice for breakfast the next day and it was still delicious. Burgers were average, but the meatballs in the sub were really nice. Slightly sweet with a nice dense texture. My daughter had a chocolate shake that was, in her words, 4.5 out of 5. I think a cherry on top would have been a 5/5. Onion rings were ok, I prefer the beer battered type, but my hubby and daughter really enjoyed them. The sweet potato fries were nicely cooked, I'd definitely recommend those. There's not much along the drive through this area after leaving the redwoods and planning to head south east on the road, so we decided to stop and try this place for lunch. The place was busy, but luckily no wait. People were eating both inside and outside under a large patio that's covered. It kept the wind out the way it was setup. That made it enjoyable to sit outside and dine. The staff was very friendly and quick considering there was only a couple ladies working the tables. The jalapeno poppers were okay, extremely hot which most are with a lot of cream cheese and extra thick breading. My son love the BBQ wings. He compared them to his favorite place back home, so in my book that's a win because he's picky about his wings. Both the pizza and patty melt were delicious. We special made a pizza and they put the right toppings on each side. read more

We stopped by to grab lunch. The woman working the register was super nice and wearing a mask, but despite having signs all over about requiring masks, there was a guy behind the counter making pizzas who wasn't even wearing one. The cook in the back also had his mask around his chin at one point, and even when he pulled it up, his nose was still sticking out. I didn't notice any of this until after we had ordered. This did not make me feel comfortable eating the food they provided, which sucked because you don't have many options out here. Their food could be amazing, but risking people's health doesn't seem worth it. read more

The service is always pretty well for this local business on the Avenue. It was always one of my favorite spots to go to for lunch when I went to the high school across the way. The ambience has really stepped up. It's game. They have wonderful outside seating for when it's too hot or just the right temperature. They also have inside dining in a bar with two TVs. The teriyaki burger is a new item on the menu and is a very delicious burger for those of you. Who like PineApple. The coconut prawns are very delicious. I highly recommend this if you're going along the avenue or if you're looking for a burger or pizza. They have specials daily. read more

The ambiance here is a beautiful setting. Inside dining is rustic and enjoyable and outside covered porch is beautiful. The service here is usually good, unfortunately it was terrible on our last visit. The waitress seemed annoyed with our presence and spilled my drink and didn't return with any towel to clean it up. We had to go find one ourselves. We ordered two large pizzas and two Hamburgers and three sides for a table of 6 . After our initial drink order we were never asked if we wanted a refill, we had to go inside to refill our drinks and were changed full price for soda refills. The hamburgers came an hour before the pizza and they were the driest, overcooked burgers. We really should have sent them back and we really should have been informed about the timing on the pizzas so we could have opted to have our food come at the same time. It's really unfortunate because we actually liked coming here in the past. We were informed that it has changed ownership and just like most restaurants here in southern Humboldt the quality isn't what it used to be. We all work hard for our money, so when I decide to actually go out for a meal I want it to be good. read more

The food was good and the waitress was amazing, but unfortunately the music was so loud my friend and I had to raise our voices to hear. It was also some heavy metal music and for me that was a turn off. I love good old rock and roll, but that made us a little stressed. Not sure I want to go back unless they changed that. This place is so worth the drive. They make their pizza sauce and crust fresh, they're generous with their toppings and best of all they offer VEGAN Cheese! Humboldt has a long way to go in this department especially south of Arcata so this is a big deal. The restaurant is cozy inside with bar and table seating. They also have an outside seating area with lights, music and a beautiful hand-painted mural. They have a pretty extensive menu for such a tiny place with at least one more vegan option. The side salad that we ordered with the pizza was delicious and had an array of fresh veggies and spring mix. They have local Brews and Hard Cider on Tap. The waitresses are always very attentive and friendly. This place is a gem to the community . read more

Are you on or near the Avenue of Giants? This place has got you covered if you are hungry! This place is packed. Two waitress running counter, food, to go, tables, beers as fast as they can. One amazing guy making pizza after pizza after pizza. Another amazing chef in the kitchen pumping out the orders! We snagged two seats at the bar. Waitress was visually exhausted but prompt. We ordered a stromboli and a cup of the soup of the day (tomato basil). The waitress warned us up front that it would be at least a 15 minute wait to cook the Stromboli. We said that was fine. To my dismay, no Wifi so I just watched soccer on the main tvs and listened to people chat. When the food came out my soup was piping hot! I snagged a bite of the delicious stromboli as I waited on my soup to cool. Everything tasted really good and considering how busy they were the wait wasn't all that bad. I counted at least 4 people ordering or picking up food to go while we sat there. I recommend stopping. read more

We took a trip down to southern Humboldt to chase some sunshine. We hoped to dine outdoors, but there was no seating available, so we dined in. Staff was very friendly and attentive. We ordered an Avenue Salad and a Hawaiian Zone calzone to share. The salad was fresh and delicious, and the flavor of the calzone was fantastic. I had to giggle a little at the music that was playing because it sounded like house music you would hear in a high energy night club, and at one point, a club remix version of the Christmas classic "All I Want for Christmas is You" came on. This was late in May. I found it delightfully odd. I will definitely return at some point to try out their pizza! read more

As good as it is going to get in this area. The food was solid, and the vanilla milkshakes were good. The fries in our chicken fingers and fries were overly chunky and not very seasoned, and we didn't eat most of it and saw other tables left them as well. So good in the mountain town of miranda! We ate here and the service and the food was great. I ordered a Philly cheese cake which was nicely toasted to melt the cheese on top... was delicious! Never had a Philly cheese steak toasted like that. My wife had a meat lovers calzone... one of the best calzones I have ever tasted... for a small little restraunt highly enjoyable. Great little town great service great food what more can you ask for... highly recommend if you are passing by or staying in one of the campgrounds.
