Quaint cafe off the Avenue Of The Giants. Some good home cooked food and friendly service. I love the small town cafe feel in this spot. My son had the kids burger and fries- can't go wrong with that and I had a slice of kona pizza. It was decent. Lots of pepperoni and cheese, that was a plus. There's not much around this area, and this is a good spot if you're hungry. There's a gas station nearby if you're needing to stop and fill up. Sodas are served in a cans here. read more

Stopped here while driving along the Avenue of the Giants. Tried the Chicken Parmigiana Sub and crinkle cut fries. Good but huge. I would recommend sharing it with someone. I don't like patty melts. Patty melts are my Dad's kind of thing. So when Yelpers give Avenue Cafe a great review and we are in the neighborhood (and needing sustenance) I suggest it to the guy. And we go. Super safe COVID19 arrangements. We we're going to get takeaway, but tables are spaced well apart, not too busy a crowd, hand sanitizers readily available. We order. I get a turkey pesto sand with salad. Under ordinary circumstances, this is a great sandwich. Really great. The guy gets the patty melt. Caramelized onions. Dark rye. Russian dressing. I ask for one bite. And am filled with buyers remorse. Because this isn't a patty melt. It is a gift of the gods. I ask for another bite. But he is understandably unwilling to separate himself from this amazing thing. As good as the turkey pesto is, it isn't this good. For the next few days, each meal was compared to that patty melt. Nothing has met the same standards. I am ruined. read more

Found this restaurant in the Avenue of the Giants travel guide. The breakfast was excellent. My wife had blueberry pancakes and said that they were the best she ever had! Plenty of blueberries in the pancakes. The service was excellent and the food delicious. Our food was served quickly and good and hot. There is seating inside and outside. This adorable little spot was a lovely stop for us after a day of hiking! The calzones were a big hit! Their handmade items are delicious, especially the House-made marinara sauce that comes with the calzones. I drank my leftover marinara out of the cup it was so good! Food was very good but the service was not. A salad came with our entree. 2 out of 7 got theirs before dinner. The rest we were halfway through the entree and still didn't have it. Was looking for some food one night while camping at the Burlington Campground for the week. Found this little gem off the Avenue Of The Giants. Incredibly attentive and friendly waitstaff and comfortable vibes inside. My friend and I split the Hawaiian Calzone and French Dip with a side salad. The Calzone was amazing! So flavorful and doughy, the French dip was okay not the best but not terrible and the salad was very good, not your typical expired ice berg Lettuce lots of restaurants like to hand out. The beer was wonderful and the prices were extremely reasonable. If you are in the area looking for some food at a local joint I highly recommend the Avenue Cafe! A gem of a place along the Avenue of the Giants. Our family sampled the Big Foot fries as an appetizer and that could have been our whole meal! We couldn't decide on which pizza to get and the waitress said we could do half and half, so we tried two and both were good. The pastas are also good portions. We had the lasagna which was delicious and the table next to us shared a Chicken Parmesan which also looked good. Service was also fantastic. Only drawback was the soda is out of a can. First time here and the cafe is really clean offers pick up and outdoor dining, with heat. Staff was very friendly and extremely fast. When we received our food it was cooked and seasoned to perfection. I even asked if Gordon Ramsay was hiding in the kitchen filming his new show "kitchen Dreams." First off, no one seated us. We waited over 20 minutes before ordering... In addition to that, we waited 20 more minutes before getting our food. They should really think about hiring more waiters and cooks! When you first look at the menu, you think the prices are super high until it comes out. The portion sizes are pretty big. My family and I vacation in the area every summer and we always look forward to our pizza night at the Avenue Cafe. It never disappoints.

We were looking for a place to have lunch in Miranda. After driving through town, there appeared to be only two choices. We decided on the Avenue Cafe. We were welcomed and invited to sit wherever we wanted. I prefer to sit inside rather than outside, so that's what we did. Photos (I assume by local artists) adorned the walls. The cafe seemed to be populated by both locals and tourists. My friend and I ordered the same thing: a Philly Cheesesteak with fries. It took a while for our food to arrive, but it was definitely worth the wait. The sandwich was outstanding. The cheese on top was not just melted, but browned perfectly as well. I hate burnt cheese, and I was happy to see no dark spots in the melty brown patches. The bread was also outstanding. My sandwich was not served on a plain roll, it looked like the bread was cut from from the end of a fresh French loaf. The bread was also toasted to make it warm and the outside crunchy, just how I like it. The fries were pretty good, but nothing compared to my sandwich. The next time I visit the Avenue of the Giants, I will dine here again. read more
