We struggled trying to figure out where to eat and the Chowder restaurant seemed very intriguing. Since it had won a 2025 TripAdvisor award we decided to eat here. I brought my friends here and it's definitely a must-visit! We went on the Sunday after Christmas and the place was packed. The line was literally wrapping around the building. Surprisingly, the queue moved incredibly fast. We only waited about 20-25 minutes. I second all the positive reviews from other people! This place was delicious! It seats in a little alley near Pike Place. It is not a typical restaurant is more like a little joint. There is sitting outside which is share with other establishments. It is covered sitting. There was a line, but it moved fast. I opted for the market's choice with fresh seafood. Whenever we have a friend in town, we always take them to Pike Place Market and I always recommend the sampler platter from Pike Place Chowder. Lines can vary but they get you through pretty quickly. I remember back in the day, they used to come with unlimited bread from the bread bowl tops (gone are those days), but still reasonably priced and tasty. We usually get the scallop (my favorite), classic New England, oftentimes the market place (hit or miss) and the fourth one varies. This is the first place we went to upon coming to Pike Place Market. Luckily it was slow on a late Tuesday afternoon. I got a shrimp, crab and lobster chowder and a captain's roll.
