Nice get away from the heat. Had AC but beware it closes at 1500 and reopens at 1700. The pizza and buffalo mozzarella is delicious. We also had their house wine which was a chilled white wine. Price was a little more than other shops but no complaints of the food. read more

Piccolo Buco serves excellent pizza, made in a wood-burning oven. The crusts are crisp and thin and the toppings range from standard to extraordinary. I had a gorgonzola pizza with fresh radicchio on top, a fabulous taste combination. Their salads are also very good and provide the necessary green stuff for your diet. Some of the staff speaks English and they were very accommodating, giving us a choice of tables when we entered and then moving us to an even better table a few minutes later. But we were fortunate, as a line soon formed outside the door. Make a reservation, if you can. read more

Best meal in Italy! Hands down! Got there right when it opened and it was WONDERFUL! We shared a plate with pickled vegetables - onions, asparagus, artichokes, and eggplant - with a fresh buffalo mozzarella that was PERFECTLY paired with olive oil. And the olive oil! Oh my! And we not only had regular bread but the garlic bread - individual pieces but SO worth it! Pizza was fabulous too - sausage and mushroom. And the waiter was very knowledgeable with wine pairings. This will be our favorite pizza place of all time till we find another. Came here with my two nephews and girls. Very quaint and small place. Luckily no lines as it was 3:00 PM when we got here. This was our fourth day in Rome and about 5th restaurant that had pizza. We ordered our obligatory margherita pizza. We measure how tasty a restaurant was based on the quality of the simplest pizza and the tiramisu. We asked for a recommendation and was told to get the "white pizza". The flavors were new to our palate as we never had pizza with yellow tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella. It was delicious beyond measure. Best service I received in all of Rome was at this place. The staff takes care of you and constantly makes sure everything is good. The food is great. Loved this place. Every ingredient seemed to be chosen with care.. the books on the wall showed a thoughtful approach and the execution was superb. I would've eaten there several times if possible and hope I'm not permanently ruined for future pizza consumption. I waited in line outside for over 45 minutes because the reviews of this place were so positive. Once inside, I ordered the caprese appetizer, the margherita pizza with buffalo mozzarella, and tiramisu for dessert. The food was good but it was not life-changing, as many of the other reviews suggest. More problematically, the service I received was very poor. Granted, (1) it was very busy and (2) I was a solo traveler, so perhaps less important compared to larger tables. There were two waiters working, and the other one appeared to be much friendlier and more engaged than my waiter. Overall, it wasn't an awful experience, but it wasn't the five stars I was hoping for based on the glowing reviews. read more

First meal in Rome and did not disappoint. The restaurant is steps away from Trevi Fountain. We went based on reviews and waited about 40 minutes but completely worth it. There wasn't a waitlist, just simply stand in the order of arrival. The host/server was friendly, inviting, and cheerful. Not once did we feel rushed despite the long lines outside the restaurant. Started with the caprese salad, then Napoli Margherita pizza and Penne Arrabiata. Everything was amazing, flavourful, and so delicious!! Finished off with their Tiramisu and was fantastic as well. This place has great reviews and a friend even recommended it... we waited 90 minutes to get a table, which was ok, as we were shopping nearby and waited after some sightseeing. The owner was personable and nice, and even offered to bring the food out for the kids first. The burrata app was tasty, and the kids liked their pasta but our pasta took an extra hour to come out and when it did it was bland, without any flavor at all really-all that combined made for a lackluster experience. read more

Then, when we finally got seated, we looked at their menu and it said that they have pizza, doesn't say anything ANYWHERE about no pizza for lunch. Ate here for lunch after browsing on Yelp to see what was nearby and highly rated. Me and my wife decided to give this place a chance. We walked into the restaurant and were seated immediately. We ordered a margarita pizza and it was good but not anything superb. The reason I gave this place 2 stars is due to the awful service. First, when our order was taken, the waiter told us "the restaurant closes in 10 minutes. You need to order now". To be honest, I was taken aback by that comment. If we were such an inconvenience to your restaurant, why did you seat us? I would have never agreed to eat at a place where I felt that my time to eat was limited. Second, we ordered baked potatoes and they forgot to provide us with the side dish (thankfully it wasn't added to the bill. I suspect that they really wanted us out of there and it might have taken them a while to cook up the potatoes). Lastly, our bill cost 17€ which to be fair was a good price but I needed to ask the waiter for our change given that I paid with a 50€. We sat there for over 10 minutes waiting for our change. To be honest, I was disappointed with this lunch choice. The awful service really did ruin my experience and I would not recommend this place to a friend. We came here for lunch today and had a cozy little table outside...the bruschetta was amazing...the service is great. We had Luca who was attentive, professional and took care of us. We got the menu option one...which comes with bruschetta...a salad...and a pizza with a glass of wine or a beer for 16€..it was a great deal. Would definitely recommend this place. Outstanding everything! One of the best meals we've had in a long time. The pizza is insanely good--the crust is incredible. Try the classic Margherita pizza. The bruschetta with pumpkin and pork belly was also a highlight. We also tried the sausage plate and it was very flavorful. Good affordable wine and good, quiet atmosphere. Can we say hole in the wall?? We walked down this street back and forth. Finally, we made a decision for this place. We ordered the bread to start. The gorgonzola here was very strong but the tomatoes in the 'Buco' bread were very fresh. The lasagna was the best for the two who ordered it, the fettuccine with clams and mushrooms was a bit buttery but nonetheless delicious. One of us got the Langostino and prawns in tomato sauce. Unfortunately there was a few canned bay shrimp and one langostino; Not the best dish that night. We shared a bottle of Chianti between 4 of us. Out total was between €70- €75. It's definitely not an easy restaurant to find, but it's pretty good! When we got there, it was getting a little busy, but it was busier as we ate dinner. First things first, they bring you a small prosecco as soon as you sit down. Whether you like it or not, it's a nice touch. My husband and I happen to like it. We ordered the mussel app to start with. It was really good. I believe my husband got the swordfish which he also liked. There was a little bit of salad on the side. I got seafood eggplant pasta. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. Maybe it's oregano that I don't like. At least, I think it's oregano. We also ordered a vegetable side dish. That for the most part was good--there was one vegetable that I thought was a little bitter. Price wasn't bad. I think it was about 55-60 euros for the meal. The service was as good as it could be with 2 waiters waiting. They definitely did their best in servicing everyone. Overall, I would come back here and try other foods, if I'm in Rome again. Stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant while exploring the Spanish steps. With so many tourist traps in that area, this was an incredible find. I only use Yelp to choose my restaurants - this is my first yelp review and I'm taking the time to write this because this is the first time I've gone wrong using the app. 14€ for 4 tomatoes and 3 mozzarella slices on top of decent undercooked pizza. We waited an hour for our food (which I'm usually not mad about) IF the server at least takes a drink order. He placed our order then disappeared for an hour.
