This place was recommended to me by many people so that might be why my expectations were so high. However, I'd say that the servers were nice and the food tasted just like every other place in Italy. I gave 3 stars because the service was quite slow. Also we had to wait awhile. The place seemed understaffed. We ordered 2 pizzas and 2 pastas. We got the carbonara which in my opinion was rather salty. (I know it's supposed to be a salty dish but I thought it was especially salty) We ordered a bolognese pasta and that was very tasty. The Naples pizza was okay. There was nothing super special about it. The artichoke pizza was definitely the highlight of the meal so if you are planning to get pizza there, I'd recommend that one. read more

Went to this place based on the reviews and how many people were lined up outside. Waited for around and hour and a half to get seated so was starving and hoping for excellent pizza. Got the caprese to start, which was very good! Got the burrata margarita and the yellow spicy salami pizza. These picture amazing but could use more flavour and seasoning. Overall, could have been a lot better and had way better pizza elsewhere in Rome. Lesson learned don't go to a chain or wait in line in Rome. This place had so much hype online. There were less than 10 people in line outside in front of us and we waited 1 hour. We definitely had better pizza in many places than this. My husband had a bad reaction to the Aged Parmigiana and puked his guts out when we got back to the hotel. Overall wasn't worth the wait. I didn't finish my pizza and the waiter confronted me with a "what happened here?!" Lol. Will continue to try more places. read more

We came here 4 years ago and it was one of the best meals we ever had, so when in Rome again it was no question we would be back. Unfortunately a lot has changed in 4 years.... It took almost 20 minutes to get our drinks, water and a bottle of wine. By the way it is illegal to not serve tap water in Rome and when asked the very arrogant host/server told us we had to buy bottled. My husband can't remember our wedding anniversary but he can remember exactly how to get to this restaurant and how mind blowing the spaghetti carbonara was... Well this time the rigatoni carbonara (spaghetti wasn't on the menu) was edible, but nothing to be excited about. The tiramisu was awful and the limoncello... Oh the limoncello! Last time we had great stuff, this time is was just the fake creme crap that I would have never ordered if I knew it was the creme shit. The other part was the super arrogant host/waiter. In the 90 minutes we were there about 15 tables walked in without reservations, he asked each time if they had a reservation and they said no. Sometimes they were "booked solid", sometimes it was a 20 minute wait, and sometimes you got sat right away. I saw two tables of two walk in. I would give 4.5/5 but rounded to 5. I ordered the Margherita with Mozzarella di Buffalo at the recommendation of the waiter because I couldn't decide between the three different Margherita pizza options. It was delicious and you could tell the basil was fresh. The outside of the crust was perfectly risen and fluffy, whereas the inner crust is much thinner. My only compliant (and why I would give 4.5 stars instead of 5) is that the thinner inner portion of the crust was a little soggy. Still delicious though and one of my favorite pizzas ever. They also have a selection of calzones (my dad ordered one and ate the whole thing so it's safe to say he liked it), pastas, appetizers, and desserts. We arrived at the restaurant around 12:45 pm and had no issue sitting down, but around 1:15 a line started forming. It's not a large restaurant and is on the same street as the Trevi fountain so I can see how it can become busy very quickly. It looked like some tables were reserved though so maybe you are able to make reservations. Overall I would definitely go here again! read more

Wow, what a great surprise, and a lot of fun to boot. we followed a Yelp review, found this place pretty easily and were seated with no wait in a very plain and pretty sterile white tile room. We started with a big salad, which was very fresh and had a good mix of ingredients..it was not dressed, but oil and balsamic vinegar was provided, so you can dress it however you might like. We began to notice a lot of people coming in for a table and being directed to an increasingly long line across the street. That certainly got our attention. We ordered only one pizza as we expected not to be very hungry, and pizza can be very filling. Everyone else seemed to order one per person and take home doggie bags. The pizza turned out to be completely unexpected, presented in a very unusual manner with a flat center filled with the ingredients, surrounded by a crust which was kind of like a lifesaver surrounding the filling....the filling was very thin and pretty runny, and very tasty. We decided that the way to approach this rather exotic presentation was to take cuts of the outer fat crust and top it with pieces of the inner filling....seemed to work very well. We had a panna cotta for dessert, which is one of my benchmarks for restaurants...this one was nice, with a little fruit. Not quite as firm or flavorful as I would like, but passable. We enjoyed two glasses fo typical Italian red wine, which were a nice accompaniment. Best pizza in Italy so far, although closely tied with one that we ate in Florence which was more traditional with a nicely cooked crust. Any visitors of Rome stop for a meal here. Easily my personal favorite pasta in Rome (and boy did I ate a lot of pasta). You cannot go wrong with any of the pasta, but my personal favorites are the carbonara for white sauce and amatriciana for red sauce. The texture and sauce hits all the right notes; simple flavors that makes extraordinary pastas. The restaurant is also very well known for its pizza, which are also chewy goodness, but their caprese is easily one of best I've had. Piccolo Buco was so good that I had to return to make it my last meal in Italy. It's one of those restaurant that you would visit everytime you return to Rome. Safe to say, their pasta and caprese made it to my stomach hall of fame. read more

The atmosphere is cramped. I'll comment on their lasagna. It was good, but my wife's lasagna is better. All else was OK. By the way, my wife tells me the bathroom was dirty (no toilet seat) and the door handle was the toilet paper holder. This place was great. It is small and you have to stand outside while you wait for your table. Don't let the line discourage you, It goes pretty fast. Everything started off great here with reasonably priced appetizers, delicious house wine, and fairly friendly wait staff. The place is small and we were sat right next to another (lovely) couple, which of course isn't uncommon in Italy. The real issue came with the entrees, which genuinely tasted like something out of the box from the store. We were soo disappointed. Looking all around us the pizzas looked and smelled amazing- to me, if you're going to come here you definitely need to get the pizza. We had both white sauce (Cacio e Pepe) and red and both were honestly not good at all. The crowning jewel to this night was as soon as we finished, the waiter (politely) asked us to leave as he had others patrons waiting. Umm. Okay. Weird. The food is absolutely wonderful - had the spaghetti with pork shoulder and my s.o had the beef steak. Food was actually pretty good, but there were some disappointments including my calzone literally had raw sausage pieces inside which I didn't notice until after a few bites because it was dark and I was talking to my kids. Graciously they rerolled and cooked it again but it was too late. Don't order the bruschetta, not kidding when I say it was 4 euros for one slice of bread (and they brought us a second order by mistake) with olive oil on top. Kids enjoyed it, wallet didn't. This was probably the best pizza I have ever had. This place is very popular even among locals. They open at 6pm for dinner and when we went there was already a line. I think it would be safe to get a reservation if you really want to check this place out. We ordered the Buffalo pizza (which fyi buffalo is a type of cheese) and it was delicious! Its a simple pizza with tomato sauce, olive oil and buffalo cheese. much lighter than the pizzas you get from the states. Pizza is large and very sharable. We also ordered the spaghetti amatriciana. This spaghetti is cooked perfectly al dente with a very simple tomato sauce, yet the flavors came through wonderfully. We also had the truffle bruschetta. I think the truffle sauce is a mixture of olives but the toast was nice and crisp and truffles rich. The prices were reasonable (Around 10$ range). If you're time is limited and you want to eat Italy's finest, don't miss this place! read more
