Upon arriving the first thing you notice is the line across the street in the alleyway. It was about a half an hour wait for us to get in, but I felt like it was worth it. The pizza is so fresh and so delicious and the quality of the ingredients were unmatched. The staff were also really friendly, impatient and helpful with ordering. It's a bit cramped on the inside, but I really enjoyed the pizza here and would definitely come back.

Don't make the same mistake we did! We arrived early because Piccolo Buco doesn't take reservations or offer take out. Since we got there early and we didn't see a line, we decided to check out Trevi Fountain a block away. It was under unannounced maintenance, something a lot of people are upset about (including us), but we still had to see it with our own eyes. After a few photos we headed back to the restaurant. We saw only 1 family in front of the restaurant so we thought we lucked out! Well the restaurant was full and the staff told us the line started in the alley across front the restaurant. Darn it, we are third in line now and the wait time was about 45 minutes. We waited it out in the rain because they are known to have the best pizza in Rome, if not Italy. Definitely regretted going to a dry fountain first and not getting first seating. Since we had a lot of time to kill, I Google Translated the menu to decide what to order. Mink decided on what she wanted based on posted photos. After careful consideration and through a process of elimination, Mink decided on the Carpocollo ham, burrata cheese and roasted tomato. I ordered a Caprese and Burrata Margarita. When we finally entered, we realized the front dining area is cozy and they have an additional room in the back for more diners. Menus were already next to our table but we knew what we wanted and ordered as soon as we could. The wine and Caprese came out in a jiffy. Their Caprese was out of this world good! After finishing it, we only had to wait a few more minutes before the pizza came out. They looked and smelled amazing when they arrived at the table! Also, they were quite large so Mink definitely couldn't finish it all. Good thing they give boxes for left overs. The pizzas were better than I could have imagined with all the fresh quality ingredients they use. It was probably one of the best pizzas I've ever had. They are definitely worthy of all their awards and are 100% worth the wait to dine there.

A welcome smile after 30 min wait in alley way. Local fav

Had to compare to Leggenda in Miami Beach - pretty close. Lovely Yellow sauce and sausage option but def have all of the classics

This place had the best pizza ever! The crust was so fluffy and all the ingredients were delicious! The waiters were wonderful and spoke great English! Don't let the line discourage you - they love people in pretty quickly!

Came back 2 days in a row because the pizza was so good that we had to try more. All 4 pizzas were 10/10 but the Sausage, smoked cheese, fried zucchini was one of the best pizzas ive ever had. Id suggest getting there right when they open or be prepared to wait, but its well worth it

I just don't get it. The line was long and I am sure people like the pizzas here.. but it was just not for me. The flavor is lacking and the cold burrata really threw me off. I ended up eating a soggy cold pizza that has no flavor. Maybe I just don't understand what good pizzas are here in Rome. To me, this was quite possibly the worst pizza I have ever had. We also ordered a bottle of wine and it sucked (young and quite tart) .. sorry, this was a no for me.

WAIT ON THE LINE. The line will start across the street but it will move quickly. The make the pizza fresh and they keep it moving quickly. There are no reservations. The pizza is made right in front of you, you see as the ingredients are added, and it's magic. I ordered the margherita and it was the best I had. This is a very thin pizza with a large crust but thin and airy! You will eat the pizza in one sitting for sure. The place is really small and has one bathroom but the service is amazing. I highly recommend if you have the time, pop in you won't be disappointed.

Located by the Trevi Fountain, there is always a long line but it is worth the wait. The pizza was to die for - its crust was light and chewy and I tasted the freshness of the ingredients. Coming from the States, it is very different from the pizza I am used to but I definitely appreciated the simplicity yet depth in flavor.

Deliciousssss! This pizza place is near the Trevi Fountain and we planned to have lunch here at the end of our walking tour. We heard they had good pizza but what we didn't know was how popular they are! Thank goodness we got in line just after 12pm and only had to wait an hour to get in. Yessss, it was so worth it! If you're wondering what their name means in English, it means small hole. And when we got inside, that's just what it was- a very small space. The wait staff was very attentive and gave us recommendations. This is not authentic traditional Italian pizza. It's a modern spin for sure. The crust is thin and I would describe the bite as just enough density and not crispy or chewy. The ingredients are fresh and the flavors and combinations that they put together appealed to my eyes and stomach. The pizzas are absolutely big enough to share and come fresh to order.

The best pizza I've had in my ENTIRE life. I drool just thinking about it. No reservations and there is a really long line out the door. It's totally worth the wait. I'd go back to Rome strictly for this pizza. Fresh ingredients, perfectly crisp yet fluffy crust. If you go anywhere in Rome, this is the place to go.

Amazing amazing amazing ! This is one of those must try's if you are in Rome. Known to be one of the best and it is well worth the wait. There will usually always be a on out front but seeing the expressions on everyone's face while eating is great to see. Very small and humble place but the Pizza speaks for itself.

Yellow sauce spicy salami - delicious

If your in the area and close by, come by and have Piccolo Buco pizza... it's delicious. Although the wait can be anywhere between 15 minutos to an hour, it's well worth the wait. You wait in an alley across the door. You won't miss the line since this place is always packed. Be prepared to wait. Once inside, it's a cozy small place with no music in the background, so be mindful and speak in your inside voice. Authentic, fresh delicious pizza. You can taste the flavors in every bite. The sauce, cheese and meats are incredible. The pizza does not come cut up in slices, which is a different experience, you use your own utensils to make your own slices. We tried a total of 4 pizzas. The yellow sauce with spicy salami which was phenomenal. Although it says spicy, the pizza itself wasn't that spicy, it's mild to say the least. Creamy, delicious ricotta cheese on different parts of the pizza just added to every delicious bite. Classic Margherita was exactly that, it was classic deliciousness with every portion. Favorite 1 out of the 4 was the pizza the Parma Ham búfalo yellow and pesto, it had Pesto, Mozzarella, sun dried yellow tomato, and prosciutto prosciutto, so many flavors exploding with every bite, makes you want to yell - Mamma Mia ! Will definitely come again when visiting. Fresh pizza with fresh ingredients. After eating, it was so filling, and you didn't feel the need want to go to sleep afterwards from carb overload. Night and day pizza in Rome vs America !

Hands down best pizza in my life! My bf and I both agree and loved the walking distance from the trevi fountain. The line is long of course, but so worth it and they make it go by pretty quickly given how small the place is the turn around is pretty good! Very small and tables are pretty close together I had to squeeze between people to sit on the inside table and I'm pretty small.

When we arrived on a late afternoon, we waited about 10 minutes before getting seated. To start off, we got the Limoncello Spritz (€10) and Aperol Spritz (€10), which were refreshing. For our pasta, we ordered the Fettuccine with Oxtail (€18) and Carbonara (€17). We also wanted to order two more Secondi dishes, but the waiter warned us that the pasta is filling. After we finished the pasta, we did still order the Rabbit (€19) because it wasn't something we usually see on the menu. For the carbonara, the flavor was delicious but not really my favorite pasta shape. It was also quite al dente with a chewy texture. I have to say that the oxtail was spectacular though with its juicy and tender meat sauce. While the rabbit was nice to try once, it was a bit dry with minimal meat. Overall, good spot but nothing worth waiting too long for. Also, I'd stick to the pasta here as it's all handmade. You even see them handrolling them inside. Note that they also charge €2 per person for service fee already.

From the food to the experience, this place is a must when you're in Rome. I'd come back again and again without hesitation.

Our hotel manager had suggested another restaurant, but I was apprehensive to try, but did later, more on that restaurant review in it's own post. I rather did what I should have done throughout the trip to, which is to search google for local reviews. This tactic I found to be much better than to trust American reviews for restaurants to visit from Youtube or even here, just because the American touristy taste tends to favor bland or Olive Garden style pseudo Italian. The real Italian taste is much different and something one needs to develop. I was familiar with European Italian food, as I had said before in other reviews that Mexico has better Italian food outside of Italy. Additionally, the good restaurants here in Italy do not open before 7 PM. If it does or if someone that looks foreign to Italy is outside trying to lure you in, it's a tourist restaurant with iffy flavor. At this restaurant my husband had the Lobster pasta and I had the spinach/ricotta ravioli, and we both were beyond satisfied. We also had the artichoke as an appetizer, and trusted the waiter with his suggestion for a bottle of wine. He must have been some genius because the wine went well with our meal. The ambience was cozy and very family oriented, however, the rain outside made it romantic for us. Another key point for this restaurant and it traditional flare was that they brought out the olive oil and red vinegar for our salad and of course olive oil for our wonderful home-made bread. I'm so glad we chose this place for those of us Americans who understand culinary cuisine.
