    Prosciutto with melon

This restaurant was very close to my hotel so I made a reservation through their website. Very easy to do; there's an option for English. Considering how crowded it got on a Sunday night, I suggest making a reservation if you decide to go The staff is very friendly. Like almost every restaurant I tried, most of the staff speak English well enough to make things easy if that's your only language The prosciutto appetizer was a little disappointing. I've definitely had better prosciutto even back home. I should note that this plate did not say prosciutto di Parma, however. A different one did. The risotto was excellent. The mussels, clams and shrimp were abundant, fresh and tasty. A separate saucer is provided for shells. Nice The salad came w bottles of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Fresh salad. Nothing more. Nothing less. Overall, a nice neighborhood restaurant on a busy street w lots of foot traffic. Nice dinner. Glad I went.

Dining room with a waiter photobombing us... they had a great staff.

Rome, Italy... Very good, reasonably priced... great staff. We were there on a Friday evening... only go in because we had a Resi... luckily their website accepted reservations.

Exceptional food and service! Must visit place in Rome for authentic Italian cuisine . The atmosphere is lively and makes you feel like you are at a true Italian family dinner. The wine is incredible and it's decently priced. Highly recommended

The best food we tried in Italy. They have a special dish, artichoke, which is awesome. Try it! Anything you take you won't regret.

This was an amazing dinner with my husband while in Rome. We had a great time with the staff and they' were willing to share some laughs and great food. I tried the mussels, which were prepared a little different from what I thought it would be. I am not usually a licorice or fennel fan, but the dish had it in the broth. After about three bites, I came to really enjoy the nuance of the fennel with the tender mussels and broth and assez an excellent accompaniment to the house white wine. The bread basket is ok, but becomes awesome to soak up the rest of the garlic oil in the amazing artichokes. Husband ordered the veal saltimbocca that he really enjoyed. I also ordered a healthy sea bass, but beware you will have to eat it slowly to make sure to remove the bones. The homemade cheese raviolis were cooked Al denté, simple but tasty. Great place if you are on a keto kick but still want to enjoy an Italian meal, and also good for those who enjoy carbs. The server was so kind and offered a complimentary limoncello as a digestive to the meal. Very busy restaurant, make sure to make a reservation. Food is really delicious and fresh. Staff is wonderful. Like many places in Europe, tables are squeezed in really tight.

Food was excellent and service was warm and friendly. The Casio Pepe stuffed ravioli was absolutely decadent. The calamarata with calamari was incredible. This is a MUST stop for food lovers if you are traveling to Italy!

I was surprised when I read the Yelp reviews that a few of my awesome Yelpers also dined here too and gave high marks so I was very excited to give them a try. After ordering some tasty vino we went the Focaccia with mozzarella, black truffle with a truffle cream sauce. The Focaccia was lite and a thin crust. Topped with some delicious mozzarella and black truffle made this appetizer and home run choice. After the Focaccia I decided to stay on theme and went with the Fettuccine al tartufo nero e porcini (fettuccine black truffle & porcini mushrooms). Holy cow, a delicious culinary delight. Some other hits of the table included the beef fillet with green pepper sauce & Digione mustard. Astice grigliato, verdure al vapore e maionese alla curcuma (Grilled lobster with steamed veggies in a mayonnaise turmeric sauce and a Lasagna, tartufo nero, funghi, mozzarella e grana (lasagna with blach truffle, mushrooms, mozzarella and Parmesan cheese) All were just amazing. Impeccable service and an old world Italian charm decor made this a delightful experience.

When we arrived on a late afternoon, we waited about 10 minutes before getting seated. To start off, we got the Limoncello Spritz (€10) and Aperol Spritz (€10), which were refreshing. For our pasta, we ordered the Fettuccine with Oxtail (€18) and Carbonara (€17). We also wanted to order two more Secondi dishes, but the waiter warned us that the pasta is filling. After we finished the pasta, we did still order the Rabbit (€19) because it wasn't something we usually see on the menu. For the carbonara, the flavor was delicious but not really my favorite pasta shape. It was also quite al dente with a chewy texture. I have to say that the oxtail was spectacular though with its juicy and tender meat sauce. While the rabbit was nice to try once, it was a bit dry with minimal meat. Overall, good spot but nothing worth waiting too long for. Also, I'd stick to the pasta here as it's all handmade. You even see them handrolling them inside. Note that they also charge €2 per person for service fee already.

It is a large restaurant and was full of lively patrons. The indoor decor is warm and inviting. The first thing I noticed was the camaraderie between the waitstaff - everyone seemed to get along, helped each other and were having fun. We had 2 wonderful Filipino waiters. One had the same Ray-Ban meta glasses as my husband, which they bonded over. We ordered the bombolotti carbonara and lasagna-both delicious. For the mains, grilled Turbot (which was perfectly de-boned tableside) and meatballs w/ mashed potatoes. While the waiter was de-boning the fish, the song "Take Me Home, Country Roads" by John Denver came on overhead. My husband and I both looked at each other and smiled, thinking WTH?! I asked the waiter, "did we tell you we were from West Virginia?" and he smiled and shook his head. But later confessed, he played it for us (I guess we did tell him, lol). It made our night. Rome was the last city in our multi-city 12 day tour and we loved every minute but we were looking forward to going home. Hearing "Country Roads" at a popular and busy restaurant a block away from the Spanish Steps blew our minds. A young couple sat next to us for a quick snack, I asked her what she ordered (it looked delicious) and she said "Im from a different part of Italy but come here just for their artichokes". A few minutes later, I saw a plate full of artichokes pass by, being brought to a table outside. They made my mouth water. Al 34 was one of our favorite restaurants in Italy -- wonderful food (extensive menu), very lively with a mixed crowd (lots of Asians, English speakers and native Italians). It is a fun place to go and the wait staff is one of the reasons I will be coming back. I cant wait to try their artichokes! If you see the word, carciofo (artichoke), order it!
