I have been to this place three times over the past year- this is the BEST restaurant in Rome, possibly of all Italy! The bufala pizza is AMAZING and unlike anything I have ever tried in America. I will make my sad attempts to recreate it, but nothing is better than the real thing. The service is impeccable, it was super hot and they had this sprinkler thing attached to the umbrella that sprayed customers to keep us cool! The campari spritz also hit the spot! I will be back here next time I am in Italy! First time, we were staying in Piazza Novona, so it was pretty close, but the second time we booked it for 35 minutes in 90 degree weather to go there. Had reservations but they did not get full so not sure if you need reservations on a weeknight. We decided to sit inside, plenty of seating. Restrooms are downstairs that are very narrow. We found this place randomly because it was close to our Airbnb, and it was so good we came back the next night. The food was amazing, especially the cacio e pepe ( maybe the best we had in Rome). This cute indoor and outdoor restaurant is just 2-3 blocks from Piazza Navona. The staff was very friendly and attentive. They were very helpful. We ordered the thin beef steak and arugula, fried herbed zucchini and meatballs. Everything was delicious. We loved it. The wine and cocktails were tasty. The pasta was fresh and hand made with aldente style. The carbonara was very rich and filling. They offer a free cherry port shot at the end of dinner. Great food. Polpette was a 5/5. Tender meat and delicious sauce. Perfect combo. Spicy Pulpo (Octopus) Pasta also a 5/5. This had well cooked seafood, reasonably al dente pasta, and the sauce was perfectly spiced. I don't think the pasta is made in house but I could be wrong. Regardless or where the pasta is made, this was a fabulous plate of food. Fried Calamari with the drizzle of balsamic paired perfectly with the vino and Aperol Spritz. Though definite tourist crowd this was one of the best restaurants we visited in Rome. Pasta dishes were good. I had the sirloin. It was seasoned with rosemary and cooked to perfection. This place had so many different options and my food was excellent. I got the Pesto Gnocchi and it was delicious. The service was also great and the waiter was very kind and funny. The downside was that we ordered the Semifreddo al Pistachio for dessert and it was not so great. It was overly nutty and I just wouldn't recommend ordering it. Just around the corner of our airbnb. Was wonderful quirky with a speak easy feel mixed with a rustic tavern that warmly invited us in. We had amazing pasta dishes, fish and Roman chicken. I had Cesar salad and they use an egg based dressing that tastes nothing like American Cesar Salad Dressing. This may well be the "authentic"" Cesar Salad Dressing, but egg yoke tasting dressing was not what i expected. Edible, yes, enjoyable, no. The rest of salad was typical of a USA Cesar. Unfortunately this place was a miss for us. We were only in Rome for 2 days / 1 night and decided to make reservations here for our first meal due to the high reviews/ratings from other travelers. It was easy to make reservations online, however we were disappointed by the quality of food. First off, the service was great. Super friendly and attentive. They also have english-speaking staff. I would have to say this place is very touristy despite what some reviewers say. They have a huge indoor dining area as well as an outdoor patio. The food was just OK. To start off, we ordered the fried calamari. It was good, but not great. Pretty standard. For our entrees, I got the carbonara and my husband got the cacio e pepe. The portions are huge here, which we were not expecting. Both our pasta dishes ended up being very very salty and we weren't able to eat much of it due to it being extremely salty :( We were so sad to be disappointed by our first meal in Rome. Unfortunately, we likely will not return and cannot recommend this business based on our experience here. read more

THE BEST RESTAURANT I ATE AT IN ROME!!! First of all, I was extremely impressed by the service here! In Rome, I noticed that it is very common for restaurant workers to stand outside to entice people walking by to come and eat at their restaurant. All of the workers here were very welcoming, funny, and kind! As a tourist, I found it very easy to order using only English. The restaurant inside felt very intimate. The tables were pretty close together and the restaurant was dimly lit, which created a nice ambience for dinner. Food ordered: 1. CACIO E PEPE This was my first time having cacio e pepe.... and I was mind blown. I'm actually not a fan of pasta at all, but THIS CACIO E PEPE DISH WAS LIFE CHANGING. IT WAS SO DELICIOUS and the noodles were chewy, which I really enjoyed! I could not stop talking about this cacio e pepe the entire time I was in Rome. I quickly became a fan of pecorino cheese because of this dish. Pepper + pecorino cheese on chewy noodles = heavenly. 2. PADELLATA DI MARE This dish included white fish, clams, mussels, squid, shrimp, and bread. There was so much food on this platter and it was such a great price! I think it came out to be around $15 when converted to USD. If this same dish was priced in the US, it would probably cost around $40+!! (The owner is from Rome, so . . .) and he knows how to cook! And my supper was the best Spaghetti Carbonara I've ever eaten - Ever! We started with the Roasted Eggplant and the Calamari Frita appetizers. They were a meal in themselves. Eggplant and mushrooms were roasted in a wonderful blend of garlic and spices! I can taste it now! The Calamari Frita - so tender! The Spaghetti Carbonara was to die for! The guanciale flavored the pasta perfectly (not too little, not too much) and the thick and luxurious sauce was amazing! Of course it was made with egg and NOT the cream sauces you find in the USA! God, it was good!! The house wine recommendation was perfect! I didn't have postre (dessert), but my friends were moaning with delight / so I assume it was very, very good. And the cold glass of house-made Limoncello was a perfect ending to a perfect meal! Think I'm too generous? No problem they were busy, so we returned and were seated. Very nice ambiance. We ordered some very tasty drinks and water. My wife loves eggplant and ordered their eggplant dish. I ordered the Cacio de Peppe and some beef rolls. My wife loved the eggplant, and I thoroughly enjoyed my pasta. The beef rolls were ok, and tasty but nothing to rave about. Our first sit down meal in Italy will always be special so might be a biased review. We did have to wait for 30 mins as we didn't have a reservation but while walking away from touristy places by the piazza we came upon this through another food blog. Overall great service, loved the drink, the pizza as well as the fried potatoes with pepper and cheese. The fried anchovies and the pasta were nice too and overall big portions that we had to take food home unlike other places in Italy !
