    Classic Lasagna

When we come to Rome, we always come here. It is our favorite restaurant in Rome. The owners always welcome us with open arms no matter how many years have passed since our last visit. This time was no different. Mario was so happy to see us. We were introduced to a new server, Mimo, who looked after us as well as Mario. We enjoyed their house white wine. My husband had their classic lasagna - a generous portion of meat and cheese lasagna - he was a happy camper. I could not wait to savor their delicious oxtail stew - two large portions of oxtail cooked perfectly in a delectable tomato sauce. I was in heaven. We returned two more times to enjoy the ambience and deliciousness of Alfredo e Ada. I again had the Oxtail on our next visit that was equally as delicious as the first time I enjoyed it. My husband really likes their classic lasagna so he had that again. On our last visit, I had the best Cacio e Pepe. It was absolutely perfectly done. My husband had their Saltimbocca alla Romana with roasted potatoes. Needless to say, he was in culinary heaven as I was. If you come to Rome, you must come here. Mario and Mimo will welcome you!

Perfecto! In every sense of the word with Bellissimo!! As an American born Asian whose heart and mind is of a childlike romantic, my travel to Rome for a Jubilee pilgrimage was made special because of Alfredo e Ada who served my ravioli, oxtail stew, and artichoke with Italian passion and care. Mangia bene, ridi spesso, ama molto!!!

Unassuming little place. There was some limited seating outside but the cozy interior was the base place to be.

We happened upon this place as we were searching for a restaurant that didn't feel like it was set up to churn through huge swaths of tourists. It's a cozy little place with great food. Our twosome was seated with a single we met in the line to get in and honestly it made the visit even more memorable. This place was worth searching out for a little more intimate experience in the heart of this touristy area.

I would return to Alfredo e Ada in a heartbeat! After a long morning visiting the Vatican and St. Peter's my family was hungry. I had to convince them that the reviews I read made it worth going a few more blocks outside the tourist zone. We were all extremely happy we did. This cozy restaurant has great character. The menu is written on 2 chalkboards on the walls. The waitstaff are extremely friendly and helped us with the pronunciation. I got the oxtail ragu, and it was amazing. My fellow diners got the saltimbocca and bolognese and felt the same way. If you're in the area, definitely stop by.

No reservations taken for this reservation, but make sure you get here. Ran by two owners that make sure you get the best Italian food you (or at least I) have ever had. No menus, just a chalkboard by the door and a constant line of folks trying to get one of the very few tables. I recommend the beef rolls and lasagna.

The tiniest restaurant in Rome with fabulous food. We found Alfredo e Ada through yelp and thought the food looked incredible - we were correct. When we showed up (around 8pm), there was a line with about 10 people ahead of us, and were worried we'd be waiting too long for the size of the restaurant. We were assured by the waitstaff that their table turnover rate was very fast and we would only be waiting 15-20 minutes max. They were correct! We ordered from the chalkboard menu outside while we were still in line, so the food came out almost immediately. The rigatoni bolognese was incredible (cacio e pepe, too), and my friend loved her chicken dish. The ambiance was intimate and casual, it felt like family was cooking for us. We also were served extra house wine (shh!) and were not rushed out, even despite the fast table turnover rate, as I'm used to in NYC. Would highly recommend this trattoria. Enjoy our selfie with our waiter, Mimo!

    Delicious eggplant Parmesan!

I really enjoyed this small, intimate restaurant. We were in search of a non-touristy place. This place had all the signs of authentic: 1. No guy standing out front pulling people inside (this is so annoying and a lot of restaurants do this unfortunately). 2. The menu in the window was in Italian (no English at all!!) and the menu was also very short and simple. 3. They don't even have menus for the tables. They just tell you what food they have. 4. Appears to have many locals eating there (Many people speaking in Italian). I ordered one of my favorite dishes- eggplant Parmesan. I was highly excited to hear it was a dish they make! It was super fresh and flavorful. I really enjoyed the food and atmosphere at this restaurant. Dishes are served with white crusty bread. There was only one waitress for the whole place, she did great!Everything was great, I would love to come back!

These pictures from a long ago evening in Rome are some of my favorites.

Can I Yelp about an experience that may have taken place before Yelp even existed? Why not? My wife and I visited Rome in July 2004, and stayed at a wonderful shared apartment that was rented out by a funky little hotel near the train station. Since Yelp was founded that same month, we didn't have any online resources to help us navigate this wonderful city. But our landlords did provide a delightful pamphlet with recommendations from the owners of the hotel, for their favorite places in Rome. Alfredo e Ada was one of the suggestions, and the experience remains fresh in my mind, 16 years later. Like everyone else, we shared a table with strangers, and ate whatever was being delivered from the kitchen that night. Just great, simple food, served in a wonderful little space. My understanding is that Ada passed away in 2009 (her husband had already left his name behind when we visited), but it appears that younger generations are still running the restaurant. If you find yourself in Rome, and are looking for a nice dinner and a real feel for the city, give them a try.

Comida italiana deliciosa. No necesita hacer reservaciones para la cena. Hay que llegar a las 6:40 p.m, para poder obtener una mesa. A las siete ya las mesas están todas ocupadas. Un lugar muy bonito y tranquilo para disfrutar una buena cena. Bon apetit.

We ordered sea bass fillet rolled in zucchini and honey mushrooms. Fish was tender, soft, and delicious with great seasoning. We also ordered Ravioli with white truffles and it was delicious as well. Ravioli tasted like it was freshly made and it tasted great with truffles. Lastly, we got tiramisu for dessert. This tiramisu was prepared by an artist. Just by looking at the dish, it was very pretty to look at. It was presented on a beautiful plate with thin chocolate cookie on top with sugar decoration and underneath was a creamy white tiramisu. I loved this dish because it was unique dessert with great sweet flavor and great presentation. The service was excellent. Everyone was friendly with great attitude and they are attentive. I think they liked the look on my face every time they brought out the dishes because their presentation was great. Whoever was the Chef that night, I would give him or her an award. This restaurant was unique just like Rome. Highly recommended!

We opted for the Roman-style cuisine tasting menu with wine pairings. The service was warm and welcoming, and the ambiance was quiet and romantic. I appreciated the decor, especially the various wine bottles displayed throughout, and I also liked the dishes the food was served on. That said, this restaurant leaned a little too "foodie" for my taste. I also discovered that I really dislike truffles! My husband, on the other hand, enjoyed everything--including my leftovers. The wines were fantastic across the board. I also want to mention the pricing was shockingly affordable for what we got at dinner, which again, included the wine pairing. If you consider yourself a foodie and enjoy creative, thoughtfully prepared dishes, Ristorante Ad Hoc is worth a visit.

Pane e Salame, however, was delicious!!!! On our first day in Rome, my husband and I decided to search for a lunch spot nearby (we were staying near the Trevi fountain), and I found this place had pretty good reviews. We got there about an hour after it opened and requested a seat outdoors. They have a tiny patio across from their entrance, but they fit quite a bit of people in it! We initially wanted to order two sandwiches to try more items, but I'm glad we just shared one - they were big and filling! We also had the small charcuterie board to share which was plenty of food for us both. We shared a bottle of rose, and all in all, we paid under $50 (usd) - what a steal! This was the perfect first meal in Rome. The food was incredibly fresh, the service was great, and the outdoor seating allowed us to experience the streets of Rome. 10/10 - would absolutely go back.

Our sandwiches were cut in half and one half was big enough to make the average person full. We got five sandwiches for only about €30! The place was not a tourist trap, but i have to say, the seats at the booth were uncomfortable to me, and the place was a bit small. Sorry i do not have photos. But overall, I would recommend to go here.
