This place was so incredible, we went TWICE during our 3 day stay in Rome! We had tried the other "super famous" Italian sandwich spot earlier in our trip and it did NOT deliver. Pane e Salame, however, was delicious!!!! On our first day in Rome, my husband and I decided to search for a lunch spot nearby (we were staying near the Trevi fountain), and I found this place had pretty good reviews. We got there about an hour after it opened and requested a seat outdoors. They have a tiny patio across from their entrance, but they fit quite a bit of people in it! We initially wanted to order two sandwiches to try more items, but I'm glad we just shared one - they were big and filling! We also had the small charcuterie board to share which was plenty of food for us both. We shared a bottle of rose, and all in all, we paid under $50 (usd) - what a steal! This was the perfect first meal in Rome. The food was incredibly fresh, the service was great, and the outdoor seating allowed us to experience the streets of Rome. 10/10 - would absolutely go back. read more

I love this place! My family and I got multiple sandwiches and shared them all. We got a big platter of food that was big enough to feed 10 people! Our sandwiches were cut in half and one half was big enough to make the average person full. We got five sandwiches for only about €30! The place was not a tourist trap, but i have to say, the seats at the booth were uncomfortable to me, and the place was a bit small. Sorry i do not have photos. We ordered bruschetta, Y: Roast Beef, D: Roasted Turkey Breast and one other sandwich which I cannot exactly remember. I wanted to have a panini at least once while I was in Rome and decided to go to this place on my last night there. I'm not sure if there are even words to describe how good the sandwich I had was. I'm still thinking about it. It was THAT GOOD! I also had a lemon tonic which was a perfect pairing. I had the tomato, mozzarella, eggplant pesto sandwich. The bread was crispy and the cheese inside was nice and warm. I was seated right away inside since it was raining and I was dining alone. Confused at all the high ratings of this place. The food was pretty mid though service was really great, but definitely not five star. The charcuterie is cut incredibly thin and the cheeses on the board are underwhelming. The bruschetta is also literally a thin paste on bread. The sandwiches are all bread with only a few pieces of very thinly sliced meat. Not worth the price. You can pay a little bit more and get fantastic sandwiches elsewhere in the city. read more

They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, but there was a bit of a wait, so we decided to do take away. I know that this is not the most popular "sandwich" spot in Rome, but I honestly felt that this was the best sandwich we had of all the ones we tried. I sat outside on a lovely November day and ordered an Aperol spritz and small sized board. This place is a little pricier than other spots you can find around town, but its convenient location, great service, and overall ambiance make it a can't-lose. I love this place so much I came twice during my three day stay in Rome. For a place so close to Trevi Fountain, it's amazing what a great value this is. Sandwiches are €7 - €8, bruschetta is half that, and the charcuterie boards are € 7 and up. I ate alone both times, otherwise I would have loved to share a board. They looked great. Stopped in here for an afternoon snack, after spending the day site seeing. Was a little chaotic to get a table as there wasn't really someone standing at the front of the restaurant, but once we stopped a waiter we were seated quickly outside. When we we're ready to order the waiter thankfully pointed out the size of the medium cutting board- which was the size of our whole table. The medium could def be lunch for 2 people. Ambiance: 4.5 Service: 4.5 Food: 3 This restaurant has a 1€ per person table service. After having mainly pizzas and pastas throughout my trip in Rome, I wanted something a little bit different. After walking, we wanted to sit outside, as the inside felt a little stuffy. The outdoor seating was across the restaurant, with cars driving in between, and pedestrians walking on the other side. The space felt very limited outside - small seats, small table, little to no space in between other guests. When ordering, we were trying to ask more about the charcuterie board, but felt like the waiter was short on their response, but we blamed it on the language barrier. However, after we ordered, the same waiter helped other guests and they received a detailed explanation on their charcuterie board. We also felt that it was weird to charge the charcuterie board by person, 10€ total for one small charcuterie board. The presentation of the charcuterie board was 5/5. All the meat on the board was nothing special. It tastes the same as what we have in California, but maybe we are just spoiled. For someone who does not drink wine/ alcohol, I had trouble ordering wine. For some reason, I thought that they would have good wine recommendations to pair with the charcuterie board. I explained that I do not drink wine, so I have no idea what to order. They prompted me back with, "dry, fruity, red, or white". Like I said, I do not know anything about wine. My partner and I decided to just go with Rosé and Prosecco. The sandwich was a 1/5. The bread was crunchy, but soft, the roof of my mouth hurt after eating the sandwich. Personally it wasn't a good ratio for me. There was nothing special about M. The bruschetta was my favorite out of the three dishes we had, but not my favorite in Rome. I absolutely love everything about this restaurant. We just happen to pass by, saw the long line and thought why not. Stood in line for about 20 mins. The restaurant is small, quaint and tight. We got a small tiny table in the corner and was scrunched in but it wasn't an issue as Italians are very friendly people and we struck up some conversations. The people behind the counter worked hard and create masterpieces. You may thing but it's sandwiches and platters of cold cuts how difficult is it,... well, if you've got 40 ppl waiting plus a line of ppl trying to get in, you're working pretty hard. The dishes were beautifully layed out. The ingredients were superb. Not a romantic type of place, very casual and we had an enjoyable night.
