We stumbled upon this restaurant while walking around this lovely neighborhood. There are artists and small souvenir sellers in the street. This busy restaurant is huge and had tons of seating. We were hoping to be seated but were told that they were full. There were tons of empty tables but they must all have been reserved. Luckily for us the hostess was nice enough to squeeze us in at the bar. We ordered the Caesar salad, Greek salad, and the lobster roll with fries. The salads were fresh and perfect after a day of eating pastas. The dressings for the salad were like thick yogurts. The Caesar salad was different than what we are used but in a good way. It was delicious! The lobster roll was ok. It was on the greasy side and the roll was falling apart. Lobster portions were ok. They did charge us for the bread and olives that we thought were complimentary. I think €10! We hardly had any.
Great location near the Trevi fountain! Food was excellent and portions were large, we couldn't finish the pasta. The selection meats and cheeses were so fresh and delicious. The cocktail drink menu has some unique, entertaining named options - if you like scotch, try the Pennicilin. Because it's so close to the Trevi fountain, be sure to make a reservation for the peak dinner rush. We lucked out with a walk up seating but it was on the early side. We saw them turn people away. We sat outside which can be disconcerting since there is constant pedestrian traffic. The inside looked very 1930s New York/Paris chic. Highly recommend.
Came in to relax with wine. Ended up starting with champagne since the server brought me the wrong thing. I also ordered a burger with fries to go with my wine. Everything was good. Restaurant is large and has that upscale look to it. Located in a very busy tourist spot, near the Trevi fountain.
Stopped by for dinner after touring the city and the hostess was absolutely amazing. It was early around 4 and not allot of people but we had a long wait for a menu and drinks. The hostess was very gracious with hosting me some fans from Hendricks gin because of our long wait and the I have to say it made up for the wait. The oysters were delicious from France and the pasta was delicious. Definitely coming back when in Rome
The pastas were delicious! This place was a great introduction to Roma. After seeing the Trevi fountain, we chose this spot to have dinner and we're seated at the last remaining outside table in one of the less appealing outside areas of the l restaurant. Make sure to keep you bags toward the restaurant side and not by the street side so no passing people can pick pocket or steak what you have. The hostess made sure to remind us as we were being seated. DO get the carbonara. I'm no expert but I can tell you it tasted delicious, and the way the pig was cooked in thick little crunchy salt & fat bites was perfection. All three of us LOVED our pasta dishes and it will make our first meal in Rome a memorable one.
The ambiance felt more French than Italian, but it was lovely. Dark wood. Deep reds. Low light. It made me want to eat red meat and ravage an Italian woman. We adjusted our American expectations for European style service. They don't fuss and fawn over you in Europe. You gesture and they'll come, otherwise they leave you be. To those complaining, don't be such an entitled American cliche. You're in their culture. Adapt or whine. As for the food, let's just say that we did a few days in Rome, then went to Amalfi, and then one night back in Rome, and this was both our very first and very last dinner during our trip. After our first time, nothing really compared and we knew we had to go back before our flight home. Everything was excellent. The Tonnarelli Fatti in Casa Cacio e Pepe was so good. The Spaghetti "Cavalieri" al Tre Pomodori e Burrata was amazing. The Rigatoni "Cavalieri" alla Carbonara was sensational. Seneffingsational. All of the pasta was perfectly al dente. Also, the bread basket was fresh and offered a selection, including a nice focaccia. We devoured 3 whole baskets, because carbs ftw! I had a few of the drinks, but on their Summer Drinks menu there was one called the Fresh & Clean, and it was so refreshing after being in 100ºF heat all day. I had several of those. Several. SEVERAL. I don't have a problem. In all, I'd give this place an A+ (with extra credit because they actually fried up the pork cheek in the carbonara a bit, giving it a delightfully crisp-but-chewy bacon-y texture). Also, the prices were literally half of what they are here in NYC, where overcooked pasta will set you back like 28 bucks a plate. Granted the portions were also European and thus half the size of here in the U.S.f, which we loved (because I'd rather order and pay for less food), but of course other Americans on here complained because they're used to obesity portions. Again, stop being cliches. If you're in Rome, go here. Don't listen to any other review, you listen to me. It's right around the corner from Trevi Fountain, so you can kill two birds with one stone. And invite me. I needs ta gooo!
We stopped here during our Mediterranean cruise's Rome port. It's close enough to Trevi without being too touristy. They were kind enough to seat all 9 of us, granted at separate tables, but adjacent. I got super predictable and had the carbonara and a couple of their spritzes and my wife had the cacio y Pepe and a glass of red. All fantastic, but the tomatoes in the "BURRATA WITH SEMI DRY CHERRY TOMATOES 'DE CARLO' AND BASIL" were the highlight. One of the best things I ever eaten on any European vacation. First night in Rome. As we ventured through the side streets, we stumbled upon this little gem. From the bread and appetizers and right on through dessert, every dish was fresh, aesthetically pleasing to the eye and most of all molto bueno! The real VIP dish of the night was the tiramisu. I don't eat tiramisu as I've never had a good one. Our waiter Alex assembled the tiramisu table side. Honestly, it really didn't need the hype. With fresh mascarpone,espresso and cacao flakes, it really was a great tasting dessert AND we hope to get back there one last time before we leave. Yes it was that good! We were able to get seated quickly as we got there around 6:30-7pm. Most people started filing in after that. A gentleman started playing music on an accordion and then a drummer met him. He does play for tips. It was a nice touch. A man with huge long stemmed red roses began working the crowd too. I'd say this would be considered fine dining. C'iao! read more
I got the carbonara here and it was pretty standard. Overall fine but they really excel in service. The atmosphere and ambience was so nice. There's great dark mood lighting and it all makes the dinner special. read more
The restaurant is right in front of my hotel and it has seafood, steak & a nice bar. I was thrilled to try the food, especially the red shrimp. Everything tasted amazing. The service was friendly. It is hard to find a restaurant in the area with a big bar like Baccano so I came back again the next day just to sit at the bar for a drink. Around the Trevi fountain area, I noticed there aren't many restaurants with a big bar like Baccano. I am someone who likes to hang out at the bar so I caught on this as I was roaming through the city. Most restaurants in Rome are small with no bar or just a couple of high chairs. Baccano got my attention right away with the bar and of course the fresh seafood. Glad I got to try their food and cocktails while I was there. read more

Located by the Trevi fountain. I was impressed with their accessibility for wheelchairs since I went down to the bathroom and they had a machine for it. The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The food was decent for the price. read more

This was one of the better if not best restaurants we visited in Europe thus far in my travels. This restaurant has a market feel to it but yet it intertwines itself in a holistic presentation. What I mean is that it has excellence in fish, meat, pastas, and so forth. Pictured above is oysters, steak, lasagna, cured salami and wine. Yes, this was just for a duo. There must be something in the water (fountain of Trevi) that made us so indulgent--just a stones throw away. read more

We were in Rome, walking by the fountain of Trevi and found Baccano. The menu has oysters, salads, lobster, veal and burgers, something for everyone! I love the cool vibe, with lounge music playing in the background. The service was good too! Check it out if you're in Rome! read more

I visited this restaurant during my final stay in Rome. While it's in the heart of a touristy region, I had a very nice time and the food was good. We had Old Fashioneds (a little sweet for me), a Tuscan wine, Carbonara (chef won best carbonara in Rome 2 years in a row), and Cacio e pepe. The carbonara wasn't my favorite, but the cacio e pepe was sooooo good! We had pistachio creme brûlée for dessert which wasn't sweet, but nutty and creamy! The décor was 10/10! read more

My partner ate here with a friend and said it was a nice place. But, the takeout salad he brought me included an obviously rotten pear. This is unacceptable and dangerous negligence. read more

Service was spectacular. It's a wonderful location where you can dine inside or street side. They have a good wine selections and the usual Italian food. But they also have fish and seafood as well as selection of oysters. It's not a cheap cafe but a dining experience I recommend. read more

First dinner in Rome. The other reviews are pretty spot on with the service, but I feel that is to be expected in Italy. However, it was a VERY long time after we sat and received menus before we could order anything - we actually had to ask for our server. So be prepared. We came for light bites and drinks. Although, we were ordering food we weren't allowed to sit outside bc we weren't having a full dinner. Ambiance: old school with nice booths, dim lighting, and cute pieces of flair like mini hot air balloons and planes hanging from the ceiling. Staff: friendly Drinks: martini is and if you can make a good martini then you know they have a talented bar staff Food: truffle mortadella & mozzarella - so good Bread: they give you a big variety! I'm also gf in the states, but I can eat bread here and not get sick. So I'm trying everything I would recommend stopping here if you're in the area. You won't be disappointed. read more
This was a quick stop to allow us to use the bathroom after the Trevi Fountain. As with most places in Europe, to do so you must buy something. We had some time to kill and grabbed a seat outside. I got an abuelo rum and ginger beer and I got my GF a glass of red. The restaurant is very nice with attentive servers. They brought out some snack and her olives were very fresh. The only downside is that they allow steet performers and peddlers to solicit their patrons. Beyond that it was a nice little break. read more
Our hotel was not far from here so in the two days we were in Rome, we walked by this several times. Wanting a place where we could sit and enjoy a couple drinks, we walked in and sat at the end of the large, modern bar. We enjoyed our drinks here. I had wine (of course) and Husband drank Amber. They brought us some nice green olives and "crackers" (not sure what they were). Even though I wasn't super hungry, at some point I couldn't resist trying their Roman Style Artichokes. I can extra appreciate something that is a pain to make, and these artichokes were light and delicious. With a sprinkle of salt (that I didn't have) they would have been perfect! They also brought us some nice bread that was perfect for soaking up the juices. If we hadn't been so full from the day's adventures already we would have loved to try more of their great-sounding and rather extensive menu. read more

This is a fine restaurant in a very busy area. Staff is cordial. Try to speak some Italian even though most of the staff speaks English. We stopped in about 3pm to have a late lunch. The serve coke in a small 8 oz bottle. Italian dishes are pretty good. No parking. $$$ bathrooms are downstairs. Outside patio. read more
