Easy to find and near another restaurant with an hour wait or more , this place is a family owned Italian restaurant that needs more love. With great service and a cute interior they offer some great pasta, pizza and more. Ask about the specials. We had Cacio E Pepe and Carbonara with Artichoke. Prices are very reasonable and as an American Tourist it was very welcoming.
What a gem of a restaurant! We ate there twice! The star was the Cacio e Pepe! We tried this dish at different restaurants but this one was best! We also enjoyed other dishes here (lemon pasta was good as were two spaghetti dishes) and the spritz's were yummy as well. Service was good and they bring you a small trio appetizer and bread to start your meal. Desserts were okay ...Tiramisu was good, not great as was the pistachio gelato. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Atmosphere is cozy. Go for the main dishes - very good at reasonable prices!
This was one of the best well hidden places: food and service. You have to cross the bridge over the river to get here; the walk was well worth it. The hubs and I shared the buffalo mozzarella. I had the lemon linguini while he had the ravioli norma. The complimentary bread, olives, zucchini, and pepperoni def hit the spot and filled us up. The buffalo mozzarella was really good. It was rather moist compared to regular mozzarella. For €9.50, you get a rather large wad of it. The lemon linguini was pretty plain, but I wanted to try something along those lines. It had a slight lemony scent with the base being cooked in olive oil. For €11, it was plainly good. The hubs said the ravioli was tasty, though the spinach and mushroom were barely noticeable. At €11.50, you'll see large sheets of ravioli with neutral tasting filling. Just a little thing to keep in mind: if you're traveling by yourself after night fall then be wary of valuables as the narrow neighborhood streets may seem a little eerie. Also, there's a small ruin area a couple of blocks away. We happened to wandered upon it as we explored the area. [ This experience was as of April 2018. Honeymooning at too many eateries and not being able to Yelp about it in time. :/ ]
My boyfriend and I came here after finding it on Yelp! We got veal and the Pizza Creativa. Then we decided to get gnocchi after and were definitely a little disappointed. It was very hard and doughy at the same time. It just didn't really wow either of us. The pizza and veal were really wonderful though! The veal was tender, juicy, and flavorful. The pizza had really fresh ingredients on it and I loved the buffalo mozzarella that was on it as well. We thought it was a bit interesting how they bring you bread and a little platter of olive, sausage, and zucchini to your table but don't inform you that they will be charging you 4 euros for it. So just be weary of that. Other than that, the service was fine but it probably wasn't really a place we would go back to again.
I ended up coming here twice on my last visit to Rome.... I was a bit worried as it wasn't empty but just there wasn't a line and had some open tables which is rare for a place this highly rated. Its a bit away from the hustle and bustle on a quiet side street and you can easily walk right past the place without knowing its there. The first night i had some bruschetta and the pizza creativa, which was quite different. The rocket and tomato bruschetta was as fresh as it gets and a great appetizer. The pizza creative though was on another level. The quality of the ingredients really shines through. The second time I came here i ordered the prosciutto for starters and the pasta all'amatriciana, and it didnt disappoint. Great red house wine as well. All in all this ended up being one of my favorite places in Rome: Great food at great prices without the wait. Amazing hidden gem, dont miss this place.
This was my first time having pasta cooked al dente! And I've heard they do it really well here in Italy. I simply ordered noodles with tomato sauce and parmesan sauce, but this pasta dish tasted so different from other pasta dishes I've tried. The tomato sauce tasted so much fresher and real and it was SO flavorful! I didn't even need meat in my pasta because it was cooked so well and the three ingredients in my dish went well so perfectly together. The other people at our table loved their dishes as well, so I don't think you'll be disappointed with anything on the menu. However, if you don't like your noodles a little hard (al dente) then I don't recommend getting any of the pasta. I'm so glad we were taken to this restaurant as a part of our food tour, because there's no way we would've ever found this. It's definitely a hidden gem and it satisfied my craving for delicious food.
Definitely disappointed with my dinner. Someone came buy to drop off bread and we told her "no thank you, we don't want bread" but she left it anyway. One member in our group didn't realize that we're were going to be charged for bread, so she ate a piece of it. I ordered the bruschetta which was good with light and fresh ingredients. We ordered carbonara and gnocchi for our entrees. My carbonara was very very al dente. It was ok but nothing special. The gnocchi had a very tangy sauce. My mom took two bites but didn't like it, so she didn't eat it. We told someone that she didn't like it but they didn't care. We were charged 6 euros for the bread. We paid 55€ for a meal that wasn't that good. I was disappointed with my overall experience and I wouldn't recommend this place.

The food was absolutely delicious. The service was on point and the waiters were very eager to help with the language barriers. Everything came out quickly. We sat inside because we had a larger party. Right by the bar. It was very nice to see the ambiance be so homey. I definitely recommend this place. read more

Quaint place with excellent food! We went during lunch and sat outside - perfect! Don't overlook the simple dish - spaghetti, garlic, oil and chili pepper - delicious! The Salad of Sette Ocho with goat cheese, honey, pear and walnuts was also wonderful! read more

Food tour stop at this wonderful restaurant. Typical restaurant in Trastevere....Tried the bucatini all'amatriciana and the creamy cacio e Pepe / delicious! Both pastas were prepared perfectly Al dente - highly recommend! read more

Nice restaurant in Trastevere. We ate outside in April and enjoyed it very much. Very inexpensive house wine at 10 euro a litre. We had pizza and carbonara. I really liked the carbonara. read more

Amazing food and service! Highly recommend and it closes late, at midnight. We got the cacio e Pepe and ravioli. As well as the the meatballs and straccetti. Lovely ambiance and clean bathrooms. Thank you all so much! read more

Sette was our next convenient choice give Roma Sparta was closed for 4 days during the time we visited. Many establishments were. The doldrums of August. Sette was a nice surprise especially when we were in the mood of Cacio e Pepe. - The meat and cheese plate for two was overwhelming. They give you lots of cured meat and fresh cheeses. The bufula mozzarella was essentially bleeding milk it was so fresh. - The Bucatini was good but I'm going to make a general gripe about what "Al dente" means in NY vs Italy. In NY, the pasta is either over cooked or has the perfect firm chew. In Italy, it's either perfectly cooked with the perfect chew or significantly undercooked. So much that you can taste the hard inner core of the noodle. Perhaps I don't know how to enjoy pasta the way Italians do, but I didn't enjoy the undercooked texture here. - Cacio e Pepe. Tasted lovely but the undercooked noodle did not leave me walking away satisfied. This was the only gripe about the place. Otherwise, this place is a great joint. read more

First impression: FRIENDLY staff greeted us (two adults and two grrrlz) at the door, and were warm and helpful throughout. Italian patrons, comfortable chairs and relaxing atmosphere. Location: Just across the Tiber from the Bocca della Verita and the Hercules Temple (or Keats' grave in the non Catholic Cemetery) in Trastevere area. The food: EXCELLENT delicious pizza and pasta served VERT HOT obviously right out of the oven, midday. My only regret is we didn't have with wine or cold beer, though with all the food and it being the afternoon I'd probably have turned into a Tourist Zombie. Maybe we'll go back another evening. Cool spot away from the hustle and bustle of central Rome, close to the River Tiber. Situated in an extremely quiet neighborhood on the edge of Trastevere with indoor and plenty of outdoor seating. Service was solid. We got the Pennette all'arrabbiata and Spaghetti alla Raffo for lunch. They were both cooked perfectly and tasted great. Also ordered a bruschetta and they brought out some complimentary bread with grilled and marinated toppings (zucchini, olives, potato, mozzarella and salami). I am writing this review from our outdoor table - I didn't want to forget. After coming from Assisi, Montepulciano, Siena and Florence this was hands down the best pasta we've had in the past 10 days after trying REALLY HARD to find great food. We have three more nights in Rome and will be back! read more

This is a great restaurant if you want traditional Italian/Roman cuisine right in the Trastevere neighborhood. We ordered the prosciutto pizza, ravioli and veal. The pizza and ravioli were excellent. The pizza was cooked just right and was good to share between 3 people. The ravioli was also great as well. The veal was probably the weakest dish we had there. It seemed overcooked. I would definitely recommend this restaurant overall if you want traditional Italian cuisine. read more

Hard to find a place to have dinner on a Saturday night around these parts but you don't have reservations then stop in here. Service was fantastic, atmosphere great and food was good too. Tomato bruschetta was spot on and pasta were good. read more

This is the place you want to eat in Rome. It has it all and they don't make you feel like a tourist which is one of the greatest parts. "Make food not war" is their logo and they are peaceful and the food is exceptional. The pasta and ravioli is delicious. Pizza is good. Their Burrata was my least favorite. The olive oil they bring to the table is quality from a coop that has their logo. We really enjoyed everything about this place which is rare. read more
Found this restaurant in the Treatavere area of Rome, amazing hidden gem. The staff was friendly and accommodating and the food was outstanding. We had the salad, meatball dish and the steak, all were excellent. I asked the server to make my steak " medium" and he recommended to have it " Medium Rare" since it is brought out in a hot stone and will continue to cook, sure enough once I got to it the steak was cooked to perfection, definitely a MUST if you are in the area. read more

We were looking for pizza/pasta, something casual, and close to our stay in the South end of Sant' Angelo neighborhood and I think we found the perfect spot. A short 10 min walk across Tiber island. Stopped briefly to see the Basilica of St Bartolomeo which was an amazing sight built over a 1000 yrs ago! Our dinner choice was the special ravioli stuffed with spinach and cheese, a traditional pizza with eggplant and spicy sausage, and the Sette Oche salad. A couple glasses of Prosecco and a beer and the final bill was €48. Quality of the food was fantastic. Wait staff very friendly and helpful. Would definitely come back here! read more

WHAT are people raving about? What happened this night? I really don't understand, as I based making a reservation here because of the high rating! The staff kept coming to our table every 5 minutes to ask "if we were done". Eeeeh no. Bite no. 4 from my pizza. Thanks, but no. Eeeeh no. Bite no. 9 from my pizza now, so still no. Eeeh NO! Stop it! There's no one waiting for a table, it's not busy, why do you want us gone?! The food was OK, not super special and when in Rome, especially in Trastevere - there are SO many great restaurants in this area. The burrata was great, but you can't go much wrong here; you just need to make sure to buy the right product. The pizza was fine, cooked well, but also what you'd expect from a Roman pizza restaurant. The spaghetti límone was MEH. Sorry, really nothing to rave about. The wine was also MEH, OK it was fine, but definitely highly overpriced. Overall, felt pretty much darrrrrrnnnit-you-positive-reviews-you! Wish I'd made a different choice of restaurant to have dinner! read more

I'm not ashamed to say I ate pizza every day for the week I was in Rome. And this place is my absolute FAVORITE. It's completely hidden, even by Roman standards, in a cobblestone side street in Trastavere. Literally a hidden gem. That's probably why there aren't more reviews. The staff is absolutely wonderful - attentive, helpful, but not overbearing. Wifi is a little spotty outside but still accessible. But considering free wifi is hard to come by in Rome, I was happy to plug in here. I stuffed my face with bruschetta, salad, and an entire pizza Napoletana which comes with tomatoes, mozzarella, egg, and prosciutto. Washed it down with a 1/2 litre of red wine which I believe was only like 6 euros. Bless Rome - their wine and pizza is the cheapest and best I've ever had. They pretty much ruined me for life because nothing in the States comes close. I highly recommend this place. It's cozy, romantic, secluded, and the food and service are top notch! read more

10 stars! We ate here twice for dinner during our 3 night stay in Rome. It was THAT good. We even ordered the same dishes! -Caprese salad -Rigatoni w/ sausage -Fettuccini carbonara with lemon -Tiramisu Everything is amazing. i got the rigatoni and it was so delicious. My bf got the fettuccini and it was fresh. I've never had fresh pasta before. A liter of house red wine was 8 euros. The tiramisu is the best tiramisu I've ever had. Simply perfect. Comes in a jar! Service was spot on. Check, as always in Europe, was slow but we had time to finish off our pitcher of wine. I highly recommend this restaurant. You will want to go there more than once, I promise you! For those who do not know the language: Waitresses know/speak English. read more
