This is a great bar in a touristy area. The only Steelers bar in Italy, the owner runs a tight ship. The $7 aperol spritz hit the spot and we enjoyed sitting on their outdoor deck. We went there all 4 nights of our trip as our apartment was closeby. Great spot!! read more

What a little gem this place is. It is a narrow American style pub with a large 80" TV for football games (and I mean both types), The beer is cold, the selection is good, and the service was great. The only knock is the only food is roasted peanuts. read more

We were in Rome during the Ireland Steelers vs Vikings game, so that made it a 3:30p local time game, why not checkout the Steelers bar. Inside and outside seating but smaller place, so get there early on game day. Drinks only so if you want to eat, just stop at one of the nearby options. Service was quick and beers were $6-$8. One of the only places to catch NFL games so just make sure to get there early if you want a seat. read more

La Botticella is the best bar in Rome! The owner Giovanni is the nicest guy who goes out of his way to give great service, and he speaks fluent English. The bar is in the coolest part of Piazza Novona, you can sit outside and people watch, it is busy with all kinds of people meandering around. When I make it back to Rome I will do as the Romans and as the Americans and go back to La Botticella! read more

My friend is a HUGE Steelers fan so this was on her list of "Must Visit" while we were in Rome. We had time between scheduled tours so we stopped in. The owner was friendly and service was quick. Lots of laughs while we were there. My friend loved all the Steelers memorabilia within the bar. I will say that I would have felt more comfortable if we had ordered before she started taking pictures of the bar for her family. There was definitely a feeling of being observed to see if we were going to order or not. This was on us though as the bar had plenty of signage, stating that photos don't pay the bills (which is so true). Beer was good and there was plenty of seating both inside & out. Just can't beat an establishment that pays homage to my hometown of Pittsburgh, Pa. To those who aren't familiar with the ubiquitous following of Steeler nation I should put this review into context. There are literally "Pittsburgh bars" all over the US and the planet. I've taken the privilege of seeking out one or two in my half century of world travel. This particular gem is in one of my favorite cities on earth - Rome, Italy! Beyond the Steeler Nation Banners, etc the beer here hits the spot and fellow fellow Pittsburgh folks aka "yinzers" are plentiful. The bartender was literally wearing a shirt of a business based only a couple miles from the house where I grew up. It's truly nostalgic to run into that so many miles from my hometown. I'd slate this review but this place actually is really great even without the Steelers banners. Nice folks working here who are always quick with a smile and friendly service. read more

By far one of our best memories when we visited Rome in September 2018!!! For some reason finding a place that feels like home (USA) in another country is so exciting. The beer is icy cold with so many choices. Cocktails were skillfully mixed. Cool place. Very Americanized bar. Owner was bartending when I was there so I struck a conversation with him as there was a ton of Pittsburgh Steeler memorabilia all over the wall. Nice guy. This bar is fantastic! If you're in town from the US and want a little taste of home this is the place to go. Reminiscent of a western Pennsylvania sports bar, you'll see Steelers, Penguins, Pirates, Penn State, Pitt, WVU, etc.. memorabilia all around the bar. La Botticella has easily the best Bourbon/Whiskey selection I've seen thus far in Italy. Not to mention some great Italian craft beers that break the mold from the mass produced, main stream Italian beer you see everywhere else. La Botticella is a very nice place on a great street in a good neighborhood. It is a traditional tavern where you can sit at the bar or at tables inside and outside. The owner, Giovanni, is a very nice man; friendly, welcoming and accommodating. He has good beer and very good wines. This was my go-to place in Rome. It is about one block off Piazza Navona, near the Tiber River. The crowd was always friendly and mellow. I was never there for a football game, but Giovanni is a no-nonsense guy who I think would would keep things under control. I highly recommend this great Roman bar. We came here after eating dinner across the street and being captivated by the excited crowd watching sports. We went in for a nightcap and were excited to find college memorabilia on all of the walls and a very kind owner waiting on everyone. Giovanni made an excellent combination of sports, excellent beers and atmosphere at this bar in Rome. I came in to watch the USA Austrailia Olympics basketball game and had an awesome time. The screen was a projector and super fun to watch, I met lots of other travelers who came to shoot the s*** and were good people. The beers include IPAs which normally suck outside of the US (currently though hopefully that changes) and has a very good variety. Clearly the owner knows his beers. There are good bar snacks with peanuts and the drinks are well made. After a couple beers I ordered a Manhattan (fully aware I should have done this in reverse order) and it was good. We went to watch some sports and have a beer after having a long day walking around. The inside is pretty cool, there's flags from colleges/universities all around the world (mostly the USA) and they're huge Steelers fans (trash team in my opinion, GO RAVENS). I would say it definitely has a sport pubs feel. They have a nice clear projector playing games as well. Bartenders were friendly too. They do have peanuts out in the open. Awesome place! My husband and I were there to watch the champions league final. Giovani treated us with such great hospitality and customer service. Beer selection is off the wall. My wife was in love with this place the second we walked in the door. A Steelers bar in Rome? Sign her up. Great beers (Tre Fontane is delicious!) and a cool environment. Giovanni was nice enough to sit with us for a little while and talk about the Steelers and the NFL draft. We really appreciated the little extra time he spent chatting with us. The walls are lined with pennants from American colleges. You can find pennants from schools as big as Arizona State (go Devils!) and as small as Carnegie Mellon. Definitely recommend for anyone, but especially for an American feeling a little homesick in Rome. read more
