I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars! The food is fantastic! We had three different pasta dishes that were beyond amazing. The pasta was fresh and cooked wonderfully, the sauces were so delicious and the seafood was cooked to perfection. Then the service went above and beyond!!! We had a little spill and they brought my son a fresh plate of spaghetti and refilled our missing wine (and then some!) and they were beyond amazing with my two kids even giving them the cherry on top "magic show" that ended the meal with lollipops. We got their house red to drink, then beef tenderloin and carbonara for our entrees. We finished the meal with a panna cotta sampler. They brought out a tiramisu and lemoncello shots on the house! Beef Tenderloin- Cooked according to preference, the meat was juicy and tender. The creamy mushroom sauce provided a layer of flavor. Served with potatoes and vegetables making it a filling and hearty meal. Carbonara- The pasta is cooked al dente. The sauce is so rich and flavorful, probably the best I've had in Rome. The crispy panchetta slices are generous. Panna Cotta- Creamy and light with a variety of sauces to try: chocolate, caramel, and amarena cherries. The caramel was my favorite, the sauce was rich and decadent and you get crumbled biscuits for extra texture. The cherry was fresh and fruity and provided a bright contrast against the panna cotta base. The chocolate is a classic and the sauce had the right amount of sweetness. Wonderful experience overall! We wanted close to hotel and we got it! Very nice staff they even gave us a free dessert in addition to the one we ordered! The chicken lemon was good but I don't favor the breast as I find it dry but it was good all the same! This is a late post (almost a year late) but this place gets enough attention on its own. The food and ambiance is great. Pictures I think speak for itself. Be sure to make a reservation beforehand because they are full every day. We didn't so we had to come back the next day to get seated but it's worth it. The staff is super friendly and was surprised to see almost all are Filipino. I still keep in touch via social media with a couple of them. Shoutout to Kim and Anjo and the locals. I have eaten at Nerone twice. Both times the staff was so friendly and efficent. I honestly have never seen anything like it at another restaurant. They work like a well oiled machine. Always helping each other, which in turn makes the patrons feel appreciated. Excellent! Tonight I witnessed the staff sing to a couple celebrating 45yrs married. Well, in Rome, we were looking for a place for dinner and found this place here on yelp. It was close to our hotel so we walked over. There was nobody inside, so we took a nice table inside where they offered us complementary water, which is rare to find in Rome. We ordered pizza, carbonara, bruschetta And the salmon special. Everything was absolutely delicious and the service was phenomenal. Our server was really friendly and fun. He even gave us free drinks, even though we didn't even ask for them. First, he brought us three lemoncellos at no charge. Then he brought us 3 melloncellos at no charge. He kept wanting to bring us more drinks at no charge, but we had to turn them away because we didn't want to drink anymore. He even gave us a free dessert. My girlfriend and I had to grab a late dinner and after some searching we found Nerone. When walking into Nerone they had both outside and inside seating. Their outside seating was on their patio right in front of the restaurant and they even had a violinist playing music. The staff were also very nice and attentive. They were always there when you needed them and they even gave us a couple of free pistachio and melon shots at the end of our meal. In terms of the food, it was amazing as well. I ordered their lasagna and my girlfriend ordered their creamy pasta with truffle and sausage and both were absolutely delicious. They also gave complimentary bread and you could taste and hear (for all my Ratatouille movie lovers) the freshness. A delightful meal! We had the caprese salad and bread as an appetizer followed by two pasta dishes, pictures included. Mine was the classic pasta cabonara and my wife doesn't remember her dish, but it was #2 on the pasta menu (mine was #5). Everything was delicious. I hadn't made reservations in Rome. Ooops! I figured we'd wing it but I wanted to make sure I tried some carbonara in the city it was founded in so I looked up some places. I couldn't get through via phone, so I emailed Nerone for next day reservations. They answered me fairly quickly and stayed in contact better than I did for them. There was nothing available so we had to take a 430pm reso, when they opened. I'm not sure if it was circumstances or not, but we could have strolled in at 6pm without a reservation. It was Rome Pride that day, so the streets were full but the restaurant was not. Walking in though, we were greeted so warmly. They were like, "Christina!!! So good to meet you in person!" This was immensely comforting and I appreciated it. Everyone who worked here was so friendly and caring. Almost everyone was Filipino and they made me feel like maybe I could move to Italy.... The restaurant is cute with some old world decorations. The water fountain is really a highlight and the water that comes out of it is cool and delicious. The food. Banger! My carbonara was rich and delightful. My husbands steak was cooked perfectly. When we didn't want dessert, they brought us a caramel panna cotta that was so good, I would have paid double what it cost for. It was seriously one of the best I've ever had and they literally didn't charge us. Then came the barrage of "-cellos." Pistachio, lemon and then melon. Inside, we were greeted as if we were long-lost friends, welcomed in with open arms, even though we were 30 minutes until closing time. The freshness and purity taste were unmatched. One person in our party ordered 2 meals. This is how great it was. Unfortunately, we found this place the very last day of the trip. Glad we did! The atmosphere was great. The waiter was comical, friendly and help with suggesting wines, food menu item and other. We even struck up a conversation with the table next to us.
