Had the mixed seafood app, spaghetti with clams, pasta gracio, the ox tail and spinach and fries. Food was hit or miss. We liked the mixed seafood. It was on the daily special. The pasta was ok but both dishes lacked flavor. The ox tail also lacked flavor. Service was slow. Waiter forgot our order and after seeing all the tables around us get served we asked about ours. At this point he apologized, brought some bread and comped us one of the dishes. The restaurant has two sections and the part we were in was narrow.

Not too many places on Yelp with ratings, but glad that Piccolo Arancio does...We were walking from the Colosseum and decided to have some really good food, in a small restaurant. If you want a work out, this place was up and down hills but well worth the walk. First of all, the servers were excellent and helpful with every question we had about the menu. We opted to have the mussels, baby lamb, cooked for 10 hours and the salmon gnocchi. The mussels were large and plentiful. It's been the third night in a row we've had some sort of mussel dish and this was second to none. The sous vide, 10 hour, baby lamb was tender and fall of the bone. The salmon gnocchi was over the top with everything else we ate and couldn't eat the whole dish...because we had to save some room for dessert. Since this was our first of three nights in Rome, the meal was a pleasure after walking almost 10 miles. We enjoyed a delicious meal here in our last night in Rome a month ago. This restaurant is in a popular area, but it's down a little side street so we were able to sit outside without tons of people crowding past on the street. The service was kind and attentive. We started our meal with the appetizer of 1 fried zucchini blossom and 1 fried artichoke. The artichoke was very crispy, but the zucchini blossom was kind of limp and wet inside, not as crispy as I hoped. Both of them also needed seasoning. For my entree I had the chef-made gnocchi with tomato and basil. The sauce was delicious, but the gnocchi were a bit chewy and dense. My husband enjoyed the mixed seafood pasta and he said it was delicious! The winner of this meal for us was the homemade chocolate lava cake for dessert, it was incredibly delicious. I also loved how this restaurant had their own personalized plates and wine glasses, they were very cute! Overall a very enjoyable meal.

The lam Ragu good and Cacio e Pepe both really good

Years ago, we enjoyed a lunch here and decided to return for dinner. We made a reservation as it was Valentine's Day. We were warmly greeted and seated. The restaurant is cozy with a lovely ambience. Our server, Francesco, was attentive and friendly. Here you pay for the basket of bread and bread sticks and it is worth it! The bread was freshly baked, crusty and delicious. I started off with a Carciofo all a Giudia (fried artichoke). My husband enjoyed the Burrata special appetizer (burrata cheese with cherry tomatoes and arugula). I chose their signature dish, the Ravioli all'arancia, which was homemade ravioli filled with ricotta cheese and topped with an orange cream sauce. It was beyond different and bursting with flavor. My husband ordered the Filetto di Manzo ai Ferri (grilled beef fillet), which was cooked perfectly medium rare along with roasted potatoes. If you are in the area of the Trevi Fountain, make it a point to come here, you will not be disappointed.

TLDR: 10% service fee. Serve open bottle of wine. No ice bucket. I knew about the table charge in italy, but 10% of the total bill is not common. Dont order artichoke. It just fried in oil with no seasoning. Ordered bottle of wine but it was already opened when served. No tasting. No ice bucket. Other table was paying their bill at their table, but only we received the bill after requesting 4 times and waited 30 min. Experienced racial since we were the only asian couple and other table had different experience than us.

If you're looking for a satisfying pasta dish, this place is the one. We got their signature orange ravioli, the lamb pasta, carbonara, and lasagna. The orange ravioli was very creamy with just a hint of orange--it was light and sweet, but lacking in the savory element that you'd expect from ravioli. The lamb was rich and had a strong flavor, which the sauce and Parmesan complemented nicely. The lasagna had the perfect cheese-meat-sauce-noodle ratio, with all the flavors melding together nicely. The carbonara was VERY rich--almost too rich. A couple bites of that had me full. We sat outside--the restaurant is situated in a cozy spot outside of an alleyway that connects two bustling strips of shops and restaurants. The wine was affordable and tasty.

Came for late dinner- (would recommend having a reservation so you won't be waiting too long- especially if you have more than 3 in your group!) Every dish we had was delicious and well-made! My favorite was actually the salmon and the octopus salad, however all of the dishes we tried were excellent! Cute little restaurant in a quiet alley near the Trevi fountain.

Excellent food. Love the Mussels, Octopus salad, the truffle spaghetti and white wine. Tiramisu is sublime!!

    Amazing tiramisu!!

Fantastic experience! We were so lucky to have this restaurant a few doors down of our AirBnB. The food is out of this world! We ate there both of our nights. We ordered lasagna, fried artichoke Jewish style, eggplant & tiramisu- SO fresh, tasty @ pure perfection. The staff was very warm & friendly as well. It's highly recommended to make a reservation. We ate outside both nights but inside offer a warm ambiance. This is a must visit! Steps away from Trevi fountain as well.

Steak with pepper sauce. Not spicy.

Last night in Rome. We made a reservation earlier in the day for an early spot. Keep in mind they eat late here. Early is 6:30pm. The service was great and food was good. For a tourist area it's one of the best. I prefer this over most. Highly professional waiter for sure.

This was one of our top 3 meals in Italy! The artichokes were incredible. We ordered both, and preferred the Jewish style more. The carbonara was the best we had in two weeks of touring Rome. Add the excellent service, and you get a 5 star restaurant! Go check it out, you won't be disappointed.

Food was great only complaint was that they sat our party of 5 at a 4 person table near the restroom. Other than that fried calamari was great so was the roman Gricia pasta. Mussels were well cooked and the ox tail was very soft. Would come again. recommend getting a reservation off the beaten path near Trevi Fountain

    Truffle pasta - very good!

When we arrived on a late afternoon, we waited about 10 minutes before getting seated. To start off, we got the Limoncello Spritz (€10) and Aperol Spritz (€10), which were refreshing. For our pasta, we ordered the Fettuccine with Oxtail (€18) and Carbonara (€17). We also wanted to order two more Secondi dishes, but the waiter warned us that the pasta is filling. After we finished the pasta, we did still order the Rabbit (€19) because it wasn't something we usually see on the menu. For the carbonara, the flavor was delicious but not really my favorite pasta shape. It was also quite al dente with a chewy texture. I have to say that the oxtail was spectacular though with its juicy and tender meat sauce. While the rabbit was nice to try once, it was a bit dry with minimal meat. Overall, good spot but nothing worth waiting too long for. Also, I'd stick to the pasta here as it's all handmade. You even see them handrolling them inside. Note that they also charge €2 per person for service fee already.

Our hotel manager had suggested another restaurant, but I was apprehensive to try, but did later, more on that restaurant review in it's own post. I rather did what I should have done throughout the trip to, which is to search google for local reviews. This tactic I found to be much better than to trust American reviews for restaurants to visit from Youtube or even here, just because the American touristy taste tends to favor bland or Olive Garden style pseudo Italian. The real Italian taste is much different and something one needs to develop. I was familiar with European Italian food, as I had said before in other reviews that Mexico has better Italian food outside of Italy. Additionally, the good restaurants here in Italy do not open before 7 PM. If it does or if someone that looks foreign to Italy is outside trying to lure you in, it's a tourist restaurant with iffy flavor. At this restaurant my husband had the Lobster pasta and I had the spinach/ricotta ravioli, and we both were beyond satisfied. We also had the artichoke as an appetizer, and trusted the waiter with his suggestion for a bottle of wine. He must have been some genius because the wine went well with our meal. The ambience was cozy and very family oriented, however, the rain outside made it romantic for us. Another key point for this restaurant and it traditional flare was that they brought out the olive oil and red vinegar for our salad and of course olive oil for our wonderful home-made bread. I'm so glad we chose this place for those of us Americans who understand culinary cuisine.
