Cacciò e Pepe
Maria C.

Probably the best food we had in Rome. The pizza was flavorful with a nice crust. The cacciò e Pepe was fantastic! Great service and atmosphere

Amazing pizzas but a little bit of a tourist restaurant. Prices were a little steep, but not egregious. Having to pay 2 euro for house tap water was pretty frustrating. It wasn't even a new bottle - just reusable glass bottles that they refill for each customer. Be sure to make a reservation, or else you'll be waiting in line for a while.

Long wait lines, amazing vibes all around and some amazing food smell at very affordable pricing define Mariuccia at its best. We had put in a reservation ahead of time and got to our seat well ahead of the line ( Highly recommend doing that). The staff was very welcoming and did run us quickly through the options. The food was amazing and we tried the Margherita pizza ( the earthy taste from the crust and the pizza was made to perfection) along with the eggplant Parmesan ( felt it could have been done better and thus a star dinged ) and crocchettone polpo ( grilled octopus with potato - that was simply amazing ). Highly recommend if you're looking for great Italian food without the touristy vibe!

My favorite with anchovies.

True Napolitan pizza in Roma, yes, please. This is the only place we went twice in Rome. The pizza with the pretty mortadella flower is NOT it (we tell you from experience). Get the red pizza with anchovies and crack an egg open in the middle. Or get the one with basil, mushroom, artichokes, and black olives.

Excellent Neoplotan dial pizzas. Go early or your weight will be long! We left all the pizzas that we had, but the margarita and buffalo Margarita are amazing as is. The servers are also nice and spoke great English. You can eat inside or outside and it's a fun atmosphere.

Carbonara, pizza diavola, and montanarina classica

This was our last meal in Rome and the BEST meal in Rome! We went on a Thursday around noon and we got lucky we were seated outside right away although it was pretty packed. I didn't get to see inside, but it seemed like the restaurant was pretty large. We ordered the carbonara, diavola special pizza, and the montanarina classica. We tried a few carbonaras during our trip but the crispy guanciale stood out on this one. The pasta was also perfectly al dente. Beware you'll need a nap after this dish! I loved the thick, fluffy, Neapolitan style pizza. The tomato sauce was tangy and they gave plenty of spicy salami. The montanarina were basically deep fried pizza dough balls with Marina and cheese on top. Although these were delicious and better than anything we could get back home, we wouldn't order again because it was way too much food for 2 people. Service was pretty slow and we had to flag down the waiter multiple times because it was so busy, but the food came out pretty quick. I'll be dreaming about this place while waiting to return!

Marinara pizza. Great.

Came for lunch and had really solid pizza. The place is nice, and we sat outside. Service was pretty good, and we got our food in a good time. It was an overall pleasant experience. I had the marinara, which was really good. Ever since a previous visit to Italy, I've craved the marinara pizzas there, and this did not disappoint. It was pretty large (especially for lunch), so I ended up taking half with us.

Confused at why this place has so many high reviews. We waited in line for about 30 minutes around 2:30 on a Saturday for a table. Service is very very slow - no sense of urgency. So the wait is not really real. Pizza crusts are good - some level of chewy dough. The toppings are lacking and there's not enough tomato sauce on the pies. Not worth the wait.

Really good pizza, fast and friendly service. I really enjoyed the grilled octopus. Decent prices, gets a little crowded which is expected with the location.

Carbonara..wish it tasted ad good as it looks!

Read good reviews abt this place. Hubby ordered the Margherita pizza, which he liked-5.8. I got the carbonara. Wanted so much to love it BUT I didn't. Pasta was severely undercooked, it was crunchy. Kinda like eating undercooked rice..not good.

tartufosa pizza, aka truffle pizza. so good!

What a treat, to dine outside and indulge in Neapolitan-style pizza and imbibe in some Aperol Spritzes while people-watching in Italy. "When in Rome..." as they say. Mariuccia is located in Campo de' Fiori, which is close to Piazza Navona. After a fun photoshoot with a local photographer, he recommended this casual restaurant to us tourists without skipping a beat. One odd thing about outside seating here is if there's only 2 people, you HAVE to wait for a two-top table. Even if there were 4-tops available, they won't let you sit and waste the other two spots. As an appetizer, we got the PISTACHIO croquette to share. Highly recommend. I mean, where else are you going to get this? Raving about the CARBONARA, I had to try this also. It was so decadent. Taste buds on savory and sensory overload. It was a struggle to finish since it's so rich. Known for their Neapolitan-style pizza, (which features an airy, lightly charred crust, and a thin base), we asked our waiter which pizza was the most popular. We were told the TARTUFOSA aka TRUFFLE. Cannot agree more. You can smell it before eating. I've never encountered anything similar to it in the states. At the end of our meal, we were served complimentary LIMONCELLOS and were on our merry little way, albeit maybe five pounds heavier.

This was hands down some of the best pizza I had in Rome. The crust was perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, with fresh ingredients and incredible flavor in every bite. You can really taste the authenticity and care that goes into making it. It was truly unforgettable. The service was just as amazing--friendly, welcoming, and attentive. This place is an absolute must if you're looking for incredible pizza!

The pizza here was so flavorful! I loved the white sauce in this and the ham. The potato croquet was a nice touch to this as well.

It was really hot that day and I don't think they had AC on but that might just be how it usually is in Rome.

Everyone needs a trip to Italy, if nothing more than to enjoy all of the food…read more When you've landed, you're hungry, and it's not lunch time, and it's not dinner time, you may end up, selling for whatever you can find is open We were absolutely starving, and wanting to indulge in our first Italian meal, what do you do when you're in Italy?! You may want to indulge in pasta or pizza! We walked in, and we were immediately seated. Air conditioning is nonexistent, and on a hot summer day, it would've been cooler to dine outside. had that been an option, and it was 95° out. As soon as we were seated, we were immediately told that Pizza and some of their baked Italian dishes were not going to be available. Boo. The wait staff seemed fairly nice, and offered to bring us glasses of water. The glasses were super tiny, and thankfully the waitress brought over a carafe of water. We asked for a few suggestions, since both of us had been craving pizza, and she suggested the Carbonara. She said it was one of the best dishes. While we were waiting for our food, several other tables were immediately filled up with other customers, families and friends alike. It was interesting that those tables were served pizza... I'll just leave it at that. The carbonara Was anything less than delicious. We both found the pasta to be barely cooked. Not al dente, but barely cooked. The seasoning was mediocre, and there was very little pork, which is supposed to be the highlight of this dish, in this dish. Diners tip: if you are not a local, keep in mind that your version of Customer Service may or may not fit what Customer Service is in Rome. Despite being hungry, I had a hard time, finishing the food, let alone actually eating it. The waitress only came over at the end to drop off the check, and when she noticed that I had barely eaten anything, first gave me a strange look, and then asked about it. It was definitely one of those situations where saying something was wrong would've been met with unwanted attention. This is in a place to add to your must try list... There are plenty of other places, even in and around this area that more than likely would be a better choice.

Bufala pizza with red sauce and lasagna was excellent. Seating was fast and good serviceread more
