Phu's Bakery has been on my to-visit list for a while now. Finally, I have arrived. Got here about one hour or so before closing time on a late Saturday afternoon. I was super surprised they no longer allow customers inside their bakery. All orders are done at the front door entrance that has been plastered with clear thick plastic. I had to view the pastries and baked goods through the window from the outside which wasn't an issue for me. Items are labeled with name and price. Good variety of selections. Prices are very affordable. Unfortunately, the one item I came here to get was all gone for the day. No more egg tarts. I was bummed, but no worries. I still got other stuff. I'll catch the egg tarts next time. I left with 6 items for a total of $12+ which wasn't bad at all. Came here a few days ago to pick up some bread. The store does not allow walk in. The bread are displayed at the window and you order outside the store. I bought a few different ones to try and the egg tart since I've heard they're famous for it. The egg tarts are ok, I've had better. The pineapple bread and the pork sung bread are dry. Also bought the regular sliced bread and just noticed it has mold. We've been eating it the past two days and finally noticed the mold on the sides. The bread does not taste freshly baked, I wonder if it's because we're there in the morning so we had the old bread. Also doesn't help to let the bread sit by the window side, the sun and heat could cause condensation and mold in the bag. I would not return or recommend solely because the bread are dry and it doesn't help that there's mold. read more
