Brought my grandma and I'm happy to say this spot has her approval haha that in itself should mean this review actually has 6 stars cause grandma be picky. We both got the C1 dessert, and I also got an order of the pandan durian layer cake and an order of the taro cake. The pandan durian layer cake wasn't overwhelmingly pungent with durian, it almost felt like they just brushed the cake with some durian if that makes any sense. The taro cake was delicious! I think they may have warmed it up a little and I enjoyed the bits of taro in it. We came in a Saturday afternoon and was able to park in the lot as well as walk right up to the register. I think 5-10 mins later there was a line almost to the door and all the tables were taken up. My grandma has already decided that we're coming back hahah so I guess I'll have an excuse to try something else other than the C1 dessert! read more

As a foodie person, I specifically look for this place since I've been seeing reels that say's a must go dessert place! The place looks new, clean and spacious. I came around 4pm and the place was not busy. Service was great, they are nice and helpful. What they have are typical Vietnamese desserts that I found common in any Vietnamese place. I didn't find anything special that caught my eye about this place. However you can't go wrong, it's still good but just ordinary for me. Also, I feel their portion is small. Walking into this dessert shop, you could see how busy it is. There wasn't a line, but almost all the tables were filled. Service was quick because after ordering, within minutes we got our che. It's so great to have this here in SGV, we no longer have to drive to Garden Grove. This location gets busy and parking is limited. Luckily, there is street parking. Inside is very clean with ample seating and some outdoor seats as well. I have had the House Special with Durian. It's so rich, yummy, and full of toppings. My favorite, though, is the Longan Aloe Vera. It's so refreshing and has a unique taste. For banh, I have had the Cassava and Durian Pandan. Both delicious and perfect snack-sized. However, it's been a few disappointing visits when they run out of the Durian Pandan midday. Will return to try the other drinks. read more

Tonight's danger? A deal on the Jell-O. Buy three, get one free -- specifically the coffee Jell-O. And yes... I absolutely folded. Bought three longan jellies and proudly accepted the free coffee one like I had self-control. I was looking for some good che in the area and found Bake & Che. From the reviews, it seemed like they would have something I would like here for a sweet dessert. Now I've had che many times before and enjoy the simple mixture. Here at Bake & Che, it's definitely more of a decorated milky dessert. The dac biet che had all the normal ingredients, but they added some extras and also peanuts. I have to admit the peanuts added a nice crunch to it. But they do go a little crazier with the ice, so I'd recommend asking for less ice, or get the largest cup for maximum che. A regular size cup was $7 for the regular dessert che. It was a little bit more than I expected, as usual che is about two dollars less. If it was maybe less ice, it would be a better match with the price. Counter staff are fine here, nothing too special there. They take both cash and card here. A few tables inside and outside, but they are taken quick if it's a busy day. Been seeing soo much social media advertisement here and have been craving che for the longest time. Its been hard to find che since Bambu had closed down. This is located right next to Da Vien on Garvey in a small plaza. Parking may be limited especially when both Da Vien and Baked&Che has lines out the door sometimes. Theres a couple of tables indoor and outdoor. Service is quite slow but the girl was patient since it was our first time. I ordered the pandan grass jelly and flandan cheesecake. I like that they ask whether you want to adjust your sweetness and ice on the side. I opted for regular sweet with ice inside since it was my first time so I wanted to taste how it should before I make adjustments for the next visit. What I did not like was that the ice was crushed ice rather than shaved ice. The chunks were quite large which was hard to eat. Regular sweetness did not taste like anything. There was no coconut milk flavor. The grass jelly also doesnt have the typical grass jelly flavor. It was very bland. So everything was just bland in general. What i REALLY enjoyed was the flandan cheesecake. It lacked a bit of the pandan flavoring. I wish it had more pandan flavoring. Theres more flan than cheesecake. Having been feeling super curious, I really wanted to try Bake & Che as I haven't had Vietnamese desserts very often. There was no line when I got there 30 minutes before closing. The girl was friendly and polite. She asked me, if I wanted the ice on the side. I said sure and later realized that was a great idea. I ordered C2 Thai which contains fresh jackfruit, longan fruit, toddy palm seeds, a variety of jellies, and pomegranate seeds. She gave me a lot of ice in a plastic bag tied up with a rubber band. The cup is on the small side. After taking a few sips through the straw, the liquid was entirely gone leaving the solid ingredients which are too big for the straw. I wish the cup had been bigger so it can accommodate more liquid. It was very difficult to use a spoon while driving home. I decided to wait until I get home to finish my drink. Luckily, I had condensed milk in my fridge. I poured my drink and ice into a bowl and added some condensed milk. Voila! I was finally able to enjoy my drink! Delicious! Really cute small place. We have ordered (prices as of Nov 2025): Thai Dessert Che Tai - $7 -- Classic! Leans on the sweet side for reg sweet, but so yummy with all the ingredients that they put inside. Longan Aloe Vera Che Nhan Dam - $7 -- Refreshing! My husband ordered this yesterday and this dessert was packed with aloe, pieces of longan, and other diff textures. Smashed Coconut Dura Dam Thot Not - $7 -- Delicious and creamy! This is a coconut lover's dream lol. This contains all types of coconut, and I will just continue to order this haha. Customer Service: Pretty short - nothing frilly. You also have the option of pre-ordering online. They are cordial but not exceptionally nice. Seating: Indoor and outdoor table seating are both available! The store gets busy, so snagging seats can be a little difficult at peak times. Parties tend to stay for some time, so just be prepared. I ordered the Thai dessert and the House Special. For the cost, I was a little underwhelmed. The dessert was just okay. The house special was my favorite. The durian added a nice flavor to the dessert that wasn't too overwhelming. When ordering, the dessert comes with a small bag of crushed ice to mix into your dessert. Could not pronounce it well, cha dac biet is much like halo-halo for Filipinos, except they use coconut milk (evaporated for Filipinos) & they use regular ice, whereas Filipinos use shaved ice (or finer crushed ice). It is so good & full of ingredients. There's coconut or jelly, boba & even crunchy peanuts. The durian cream was supposed to be included but I had them put it on the side. I was not sure if I was going to like it, which in the end, wasn't as pungent or off putting as I had expected. The new pandan flan cheesecake caught my eye so I ordered it & it was better than expected. It was soft & luscious, sweet & delectable. Would definitely return to try other items. I like seeing a new third space for the older and younger generation to hang out at in Rosemead. We don't have too many "modern" places so it's nice to see more of that in the neighborhood. Our favorite vegetarian restaurant ( Veggie Life down the street!) told us there was a new che place in town we had to go check it out since my fiancé is a che connoisseur and always gets the che at Veggie Life so when they told us to go check it out we trusted their judgement. Each time we came (about 5 times now) we get sadder each time :( First time there was a line and you know us Asians, we love lines for food cause it makes you wonder how good it is for them to have a line. Each time we tried a new che and new jelly item and each time it seems to miss the mark.. It doesn't taste like che but like they used che as an inspiration to make something similar. Their che thai doesn't taste sweet and it doesn't seem like they know what milk they use - every time I ask them do you use coconut milk they're like uhh I don't know. Like how do you not know! You make there it! The item description doesn't say it either so it's confusing what if someone had an allergy and there's no mention of what's inside their che? I liked the texture of it a lot but don't think the cheesecake part should be there because it got mushy immediately. Pricy for the size. $6.5. Sold out at time. Also, the colored jelly is a miss for me and the beans are a precursor to prediabetes. I appreciate the packaging and addition of lots of ice to dilute this. I wish the ice had the option to be shaved in instead of chunky. The place needs more seating and better flow such as high tables and removal of chairs would be good given they're so busy. The cassava cake was hard and not good. Needs to be reheated which is not a practical thing to do. Pass. The staff is nice and fast. They're efficient and patient. Parking is abysmal. Within 1 hr of closing they were still buzzing with people and tables were mostly full. We were even more hopeful. There were a few tables inside for adequate seating. 4 stars Decided to pick up some desserts to-go. We got 2 items: Avocado Ché ($8) & Ché Bau Mau (3 color dessert; $7). While I'm not a huge avocado dessert person, this turned out to be my favorite one. Only complaint I have is the ice. They didn't use crushed ice, which is my favorite way to consume this type of dessert. The Ché Bau Mau was disappointing to me. The dessert I grew up with used red beans and mushed mung beans along the green shredded jelly. This one uses kidney beans, white beans, green shredded jelly, and chestnut tapioca (red color). The tapioca was good and added a nice texture and the green jelly was fine. I didn't like the beans...texturally, it was good and quite soft, but it had a huge bean flavor, which kinda overpowered everything. I wouldn't get this again. Service was nice and and interior was ok. Free parking on site. However, when we were there, the trash was overflowing, so that was not fun. read more

Bake and Che is a new Asian dessert restaurant in Rosemead. What a treat! Perfect for cold or hot days, Bake and Che has something for everyone. The parking lot can get crowded because of the other businesses in the same lot, but there's a few street parking spaces if needed. I drive by Bake and Che everyday when I go to work and about 80% of the time, there's a line out the door! I highly recommend ordering online for pick up. The employees are welcoming and patient, the menu can get overwhelming but they didn't seem too bothered when I took a while to order. I've tried the House Special (if you're a durian fan you'll love this!), the Thai Dessert, and Three Colors (basically means it has 3 different type of beans). Of the 3 I've tried, I have to say that the House Special is my favorite! It comes with a lot more variety of things inside the dessert vs. the Thai Dessert, I also LOVE but it seemed a little boring (only like 3/4 different desserts in there?) For the price of $7, it may seem a little high but the quality and convenience makes it worth it! The location is clean with indoor and outdoor seating, they have fridges with different types of desserts you can pick as well. I ordered some of their BAKED items and had the Taro cake and Green Layered Mochi. Both were great! They warmed up the Taro cake which made it taste fresh and hot.
