My husband ordered the Spicy Hue soup and thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Pretty decent place, came here on a Saturday morning at 11 and no line! Our food came fast and also no wait to order. Food: I got the rare and meatballs pho and it was really good! Every time I come to Sunnyvale, I go to PhoEver, and it's always a good experience -- wonderful pho and cheerful service in a clean and bright atmosphere. My favorite is the Pho Ga (chicken) but my husband has had the traditional pho, and we both happily slurp down our delicious soups. PhoEver doesn't stint on condiments like some pho places -- loads of Thai basil, jalapenos, lime, bean sprouts, the works. Just overall a pleasant and satisfying spot for a yummy lunch. read more

We Came here with the family, so there's a variety of food selected. I was in the mood for Pho Ga, chicken noodle soup, so gave it a try. It was surprisingly very good! The chicken breast is tender and the soup broth is nice and flavorful and noodles done well. I tried a bite of the salmon and garlic noodles, which was fusion, but also delicious. My niece's order of fried rice and chicken came out last, so maybe that takes a little longer to make. With all the Vietnamese places that I eat at, this place is good. Good food, reasonably priced and nice ambiance. Got the shaken tofu and thought it was delicious. I asked for it to be grilled instead of fried and they delivered. The texture was really nice, albeit a little too oily. Served with a small side salad and white rice. I had really wanted to try the vegetarian pho but they didn't have a non-spicy version of it. On one visit, I got the Green Spicy Hue, or the vegetarian pho, which came with thick rice noodles, tofu, onions, broccoli, carrots, baby corn, and dressed with bean sprouts and shredded cabbage. While a relatively simple noodle soup, the broth was surprisingly packed with spicy, herbal flavor (especially for a vegetarian dish!), and I was thoroughly impressed! The real kicker was the peanut-based sauce, which had a deep umami, nutty flavor! I was also a fan of the vermicelli noodles, which I got with grilled shrimp and fried egg rolls. Hours on Yelp are not accurate. I chose this place to catch up with an old friend because Yelp said they closed at 8:30, otherwise I would've picked one of the many other pho spots in the Sunnyvale area. Our waitress screwed up our order twice. First by bringing me water with ice less than one minute after I ordered water *without* ice (normally wouldn't care but I had literally just said "no ice" seconds before and she verbally repeated my order to me on the spot), then by bringing my friend the wrong order. To be fair, she had been debating between two menu items and asked for the waitress's opinion, but the waitress confirmed her order to be combo pho before leaving our table. So why did she bring us beef stew instead? Perfect parallel of what happened with my water, otherwise I wouldn't mention the water situation because... it's just water. My friend is really nice and neither of us like being jerks, especially to small businesses, so we said it was fine and had the beef stew anyway. This next part is the main reason why I'm writing this review. Again, we thought the restaurant closed at 8:30. Our waitress hadn't mentioned anything to us about closing when she came by 15 minutes prior to ask how our beef stew was. (Why would you ask how we like it when we literally didn't order this? Social cues were all the way off, she interrupted our conversation too.) So imagine our surprise when a man (a chef?) comes to our table at 8:21 asking us to outright leave because they closed 20 minutes ago. First of all, there were other people sitting in the restaurant eating so we thought nothing of it, but then we realized it was the restaurant staff. I think they're a family and their young daughter was our waitress. My friend and I were both shocked but obviously we left. The reason I'm writing this review is that we were overly nice about a mistake the restaurant made and in return, we got the wrong order and were then asked to leave. Bad customer service. Food was pretty good but portion sizes were too small. We even split an appetizer and I was still hungry. Prices are extremely high because they're in the renovated part of downtown Sunnyvale. You're better off going to one of the older original pho spots rather than this one. They greet everyone with open arms like family, have huge portion sizes with more reasonable prices, and definitely better customer service. read more

There was a variety of food on the menu and even a vegetarian section. We ordered the Pho Tai ($11) and the Spring Rolls ($6). The food came out in a few minutes. The Pho Tai's broth tasted good and was a good bowl of pho. The Spring Rolls were good as well and similar to a lot of other places. The peanut sauce was not bad but went well with the Spring Rolls. This place is really cute and at a great location! Great name! I was seated right away at a table by the windows. I was told to let them know whenever I was ready to order since I was waiting for my buddy. I'd say a solid 5+ minutes passed without anyone coming by my table to take my drink order. I tried to flag down my waitress at the counter but she didn't look up once from whatever she was working on. I finally flagged her down and it took her three trips to ask me what I needed, to bring me water, and then to take my order. There were only 5 tables occupied at the time. The waitresses were both really nice, but it seemed like one was always picking up the slack of the other one. Anyways... the menu was quite short. I expected a ton of Pho options because of the restaurant's name. I settled on the spring rolls and chicken wings for the starters. Spring rolls were average. I loved the tamarind chicken wings - crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside - perfect! Sauce was yummy. Our table for two ran out of real estate with the two starters, so when the large soup arrived, my buddy and I had to make room by picking up empty plates. The waitress set the large soup down on the table and walked away without taking the plates that we were holding up in the air. Had to call the waitress back to our table to take the plates. Lol. We ordered takeout from Phoever and really enjoyed it. Our order was ready right when they said it would be, was really well packaged (especially considering two orders of pho), and the broth was still hot when we opened it. We got almost everything on the menu: chicken pho, grilled salmon, crustacean fried rice, and rice vermicelli, and they were all good. My only complaint is one of our orders of pho was served with the cilantro and onions which we asked for it to not to have. I can see why this place has 4 stars, it's cuz it's in downtown sunnyvale where there aren't any other pho places around. I stopped by here a couple weeks ago and it's just alright. I've definitely had better. There isn't much to say about this place, to be honest. It's pretty expensive based on the amount of food they give you, they probably charge $2-$3 more than most places and give you half the amount. Definitely not worth it. The restaurant itself is really clean and modern and it's definitely in a nice location, however I probably won't stop by anymore. This is my new go-to pho place, and I discovered it during the pandemic. The wait time is usually 10 minutes from ordering, so it isn't too bad. I like to walk to Starbucks to grab a quick drink and it's ready when I get back. Phoever is great at call-ahead orders, and I recommend doing that if you want to avoid the wait. ALWAYS get the garlic noodles--just do it and you won't be disappointed! My carnivore brothers love the brisket pho, and I get the vegetarian pho or seafood udon. No complaints from any of us ever! The taste is phenomenal, the temperature is hot so that you can take the pho home and still enjoy it, and the bags of toppings have great portion size! I am a pho snob and went a year without. I finally broke down after reading so many good reviews of this place (food, service, and COVID response). Food - I ate so much it hurts. And I have plenty of leftovers from a Regular Beef Pho and Spring Rolls. Ate half of the $20 (w/ tax) order and have enough for another dinner. I don't know if they had already perfected how to pack the ingredients and offer the broth at the perfect temp when you picked it up, but this VASTLY exceeded my expectations and was just as good as dining in. This was our first time at PhoEver and we were so happy with the service and quality of the food. Karen and Michelle were excellent hosts. They took the time to explain some of their favorite menu items and made some recommendations. We ordered Rocket Shrimp Roll, Spicy Hue and Seafood Udon accompanied by Tao Lao Bi Dao and Passion Fruit Lemonade. We loved everything. The Shrimp Roll was so tasty with the mustard sauce, the Spicy Hue was just right and they had just the right amount of authentic ingredients. The Seafood Udon was so clean and delicious I had to drink the soup directly from the bowl. The drinks were nice and cold and complemented the food so well. We had a fun time talking to Karen and Michelle. Their friendly demeanor really made our day and we are certain to return. The restaurant uses modern decor and is a nice addition for more food diversity in the up-and-coming Downtown Sunnyvale. The service is friendly, but they don't take VISA credit cards, so bring cash or other credit cards. The Pho is $11, but is a large bowl size. Still, it's more expensive then I would like. The meat was tender and easy to eat, but I wasn't too fond on the broth, which was a bit salty. Love it! 5 stars for this. "Special Pho": Eh, it was OK. Nothing special. I've had way better. I had to ask for extra rare beef because the cuts that came with the pho didn't looked like it was any good and barely any. They charge $2 per a plate of rare thin sliced beef. Chicken wings: Came out hot but the sauce didn't really do it for me. It was just average. I wasn't impressed, and I didn't like the heavy fried breading. Overall, this place didn't really hit home for me and I love love love Vietnamese foods. The broth didn't have depth and the beef in my pho wasn't anything to rave about.
