I stumbled upon this place while taking my son to his practice and this place is amazing. I live around a bunch of great fuss spots in San Jose and PhoEver it's definitely on my Top 3 list! My favorite is their fat broth. Their bone broth s really great too, but I feel like the fatty broth encompasses more flavor. It appears so well with lemon, cilantro, and onion, garnishes, and meat. You can choose the kind of meat you want to add into your pho. They even have wonderful selection of drinks and a small menu of appetizers . I love spring rolls and this one is great because they add mint in it , I am bias s though because I like mint. Parking can be a challenge, but is worth it if you're looking for something warm, with noodles and delicious. I've been to many great restaurants that are not super clean, but this place gets a five star rating because of its cleanliness and exceptional customer service. read more

Overpriced and Ok food. The way they price Pho is as follows: $21-$26 for the known bowls of pho, one size. OR you cater your bowl, starting $15.98 JUST for the broth, $3.99 for the noodles, and additional charges for anything you want to put in customized bowl of Pho. Plus tax and tips AND 3.5% of the total bill if you pay by credit card. The customizing option is basically to force you to buy $21-$26 bowl of Pho, which is not even excellent! What a ripoff! It was one of my favorite spots to pickup pho for an easy dinner on weeknights when I lived in Sunnyvale. Food: - Spicy Green Hue (the veg pho) is great: it has a calm flavor and is hearty with lots of veggies. COVID review Called to place order and the lady was polite and food was ready on time. Pho soup was hot even after an hour of placing on counter, still able to cook the raw beef through and the beef is very soft. Rice vermicelli with grilled pork and egg roll is good, but the grilled pork is too salty. Spring roll is good portion is also taste fresh even without the peanut sauce. I went with two other people and we all did our custom order of pho. The broth was amazing! Everything tasted incredibly fresh and the flavors were authentic and absolutely delicious. Ironically, we went on a hot day and even though this restaurant is a bit of a drive for me I could see coming here quite often when winter hits and I am craving warmth and comfort in a bowl. The portions of meat are quite large so even though this is not a cheap meal, it is filling and totally worth it for the price that you pay. The garlic noodles are better than most other Vietnamese restaurants that I've been to short of those that serve/specialize in roasted garlic crab! I absolutely love this place. My wife and I typically only order the chicken pho, but today I felt like living life on the edge . I was happily surprised when the beef short ribs came out. The smell and taste were absolutely amazing. I also ordered a half order of spring rolls which are always fresh tasting. The service is always fast and polite which these days is very hard to come by. Please note as of 1/9/23, they recently changed their menu in a bizarre way to mask raising prices and also removed their combo pho. You now make these complicated choices: select a broth, select proteins (2 only, any extras beyond 2 are $3 each, and selections like rare filet beef are $2+), and select toppings (bean sprouts, jalapeños, etc). This means that a combo pho now costs a lot more because it has 2+ toppings (beef, tendon, meatballs, etc.) and the filet mignon pho is +$2 more due to the upcharge on this option. It also makes the ordering experience feel like subway/chipotle. What once was a quick and easy ordering experience now requires checking boxes of every ingredient you want every time you visit using pencil and paper which is also non-environmentally friendly. I'm not sure why they implemented this change when raising prices by $2 would have accomplished the same goal without burdening the customer. I've also never been to a pho place without a combo pho on the menu in my life; menu shortcuts provide the customer with a fast and easy ordering experience without the need for pen and paper. This is why fast food places have a #1, #2, #3, etc on their menus so that it doesn't force the customer to list all the ingredients they want every time they visit. It's smarter to allow the customer to list the ingredients they DO NOT want than forcing them to list all the ingredients they DO want every visit. My advice: allow menu customization but restore the basic pho combinations (#1, 2, 3) to allow for quick ordering. Your new ordering system brings no advantages or convenience to the customer, only disadvantages and inconvenience, and it's a step in the wrong direction for your business. read more

I got the bun bo hue, but kind of regretted it due to the broth. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't the flavor that I typically get from a bun bo hue. Stopped by for some takeout from this downtown Sunnyvale pho restaurant. We're still under Covid-19 restrictions, otherwise we would have opted to dine in. The county is allowing limited indoor dining at this point, but because they can only operate at 25% occupancy tables are hard to come by. We ordered small sampling of dishes on this visit: Combination beef pho - one of the mysteries of life is how these places are able to cook their broth to such an intense temperature such that it's still remarkably hot after a 15 minute drive home. The soup was still nearly 200 degrees when we pour it into the bowl. This came with a nice amount of noodles and other ingredients. Quite delicious overall, but maybe the broth had just a little too much pepper - would have preferred to adjust the spiciness ourselves. Grilled salmon with garlic noodles - salmon was pretty good, especially with the provided sauce, but it probably was on the grill just a minute too long, as grilled surface was a little dry. The garlic noodles, however, were delicious. Vermicelli with pork and shrimp - the pork was cooked very nicely, but I was disappointed that there were only two shrimp in the dish. The shrimp were also incompletely deveined, so they had that unsightly dark dorsal vein - which isn't actually a blood vessel but part of its digestive system. Anyway, this is just a minor problem with execution. Otherwise, it was a delicious dish. Service was friendly and they are paying close attention to Covid-19 health protocols - I could see the kitchen staff in the back wearing masks. Hand sanitizer was available at the door. First time trying this place...came in and wasn't even greeted...I sat down and the air conditioner was blowing right on top of my head...frozen headache and I never get headaches...I got chicken and beef pho...the meat was ok, but I think they used Costco chicken in my pho...I know Costco chicken when I see it...it still had some of the chicken skin on it...and why would they charge me almost $20 a bowl for $5 Costco chicken...super generic pho...I would not come here again...Fool me once, not twice! Customer service was lame, I came in before these 2 other people and they got there food first. I seen busboys clean the tables but they didn't bus the tables...they walk back to the kitchen with nothing in their hands? First impressions are everything and they failed on all areas...if your looking for authentic pho, this is not it. The pho just isn't great for the money you pay! I've had so much better.
