This place is a gem. Their broken rice dishes provides huge portion of food. We got the one with pork chops and they gave us 4 pork chops, double the size of normal restaurant. The pork chops are very flavorful and delicious. The service was good too. I just wanted to try the big bone, but it was just an add-on so the waitress recommended me to get a small bowl of pho with the big bone, which was exactly what I wanted. She gave me a pair of scissors to cut the tendons from the bone. It was delicious! Such good value for the food!
I have been coming here for a couple of years. Needless to say, the consistency in both pho and service keeps me coming. I stick to the Pho VH special with 2 orders of rare steak and 2 well done brisket. The array of toppings they bring out is great too, I always request extra lime and onion for my pho! The restaurant is small, and sometimes you might have to wait during their dinner rush, but I have never waited more than 15 minutes. Only reason I docked a star is due to the fact they revoked their stamp card, which was a reason I came so much and would bring people too - for every 10 pho bowls purchased, you get one free one. That is no longer applicable, to my disappointment. Regardless, I come here around once a month, but would definitely be here more if they brought back the stamp card!
Came here on a Monday around 6pm no wait to be seated. Parking lot in front. Two bathrooms. Inside fairly small but clean. Service was quick. Ordered the pho with meatballs and brisket and thick noodles. Good amount of meat and noodles inside. Side dishes of beans sprouts and warm onion were good and veggies fresh. The homemade sauces on the side were spicy. Thai tea was good too. All in all a solid pho place.

The broth is always on point and they are super generous with both the portions and amount of meat. One thing that we really appreciate is they give kids a small kids bowl for free, which is such a nice touch for families. Customer service has always been great too. Everyone is friendly, attentive, and checks in without being overbearing. Also have to mention the prices because they are honestly really reasonable for what you get, especially nowadays. Might be one of the best values in all of OC. And don't skip the com tam either. Really good and they load you up with food. 10/10. We keep coming back and definitely will continue coming back.

They give you lots of meat and they have plenty of options to choose from. You can choose from thin or thick noodles and they have like 10 different options for proteins. I went with the steak, well done brisket, and fatty brisket with my bowl. I paid $13 and I got my money's worth with all the brisket that was loaded into my bowl. The noodles were well-cooked and the vegetables they brought us were fresh. Service was quick and friendly. The broth was a little on the lighter side for my taste but adding siracha and hoisin sauce helped alleviate that issue. All the meat I had was delicious and it ended up being a good bowl of pho especially while it was raining. The inside is more spacious than I thought it was from the outside and there's plenty of seating available inside. Parking is also easy to find as the lot is fairly large with plenty of spots. This is a great spot if you are craving Pho and want the best bang for your buck.

For $14 its a steal because you also get a free herbal tea along with a delicous hot bowl of pho with tender steak. Their broken rice is also solid if you get the #8, but there are better options out there if that's what you're looking for. Service is always fast and efficient. They automatically provide you with pickled onions with your pho without asking which adds a good crunch to your bite. Would highly recommend this place to anyone craving a bowl of pho.
Waiting for my daughter who was hanging out few door down at Dex Coffee. I came in for dinner, party of 1 and sat right away. The restaurant is clean and cozy but small. I had #11 pork chop with broken rice. I was excited from eat it but it turned out to be a different cut and not porkchop. It was very fatty and has tendons which I had to pick out of my mouth. More like spareribs. So as you can see I don't finish a portion of the meat. The broth was good with carrot, parsnip and piece of pork. I was disappointed in the porkchop. My meal was $13. I'm not sure if I could recommend or be back.
A very solid restaurant for Vietnamese food. The menu is pretty small, nothing too crazy, but what they lack in variety they definitely make up in quality and price. Service is fine, the waiters are quick to take your order and refill drinks, and the food comes out in a reasonable time. They have complimentary drinks like nuoc mat (herbal tea) and I get that every time - it's not too sweet, and has a slight chrysanthemum flavor. It's around $13-16 per dish, depending on what you're getting, but the serving sizes are good for those prices (especially nowadays with rising costs). Every time I've come here, I'll normally get the com tam suon nuong cha bi and it comes with two whopping pieces of grilled pork chop, some pickled veggies, rice, shredded pork skin, and egg meatloaf. Honestly I've never had any complaints about the food. It's flavorful, hefty, and I could honestly eat half and save the other half for tomorrow's lunch if I was content with being like 70% full. My mom and I did notice during the most recent visit that the meat pieces were smaller for both of us, but it's still a good amount of food. The pho is also very flavorful and has a lot of meat and tendon, and they promote the fact that they 'don't use MSG' in their pho. I'm not a stickler for that, but I know plenty of health conscious older Vietnamese people that would love that. Overall my current go-to spot for com tam or pho. It's a good spot for a basic dinner, or to bring friends and family. The restaurant has plenty of seating, and there's a large TV normally playing vlogs from Vietnam or street food videos.

One small issue I noticed was that the noodles had a slightly powdery taste, which can sometimes happen when the noodles aren't rinsed thoroughly before being added to the soup. Wow! The Pho VH menu item is flavorful, meaty, and a great deal for $12! The ratio of meat to noodle is impressive. It comes with fresh veggies that are crisp and cold. What sets this restaurant apart from other pho restaurants are the cooked bean sprouts and pickled onions that come automatically with the greens. Free drinks are offered. I chose the herbal tea which is very refreshing! The reason I didn't give them a 5 is the customer service. Although the staff are kind and welcoming they don't come by to refill your drinks or ask if you need anything else after you initially order and they deliver the food to the table. There's minimal interaction which some customers can view as a positive aspect. In addition, there is a sign displaying gender neutral restrooms but the doors are labeled by gender. Inside the women's restroom the toilet paper sat above the empty toilet roll holder and a roll of paper towels sits above the automatic towel dispenser. I came in around lunch time so I interpret that as staff don't frequently freshen the restrooms or that attention to detail is not important to check prior to opening the restaurant for the day. Overall food is amazing and super cost effective. There was no wait when I arrived but there was a wait when I left. Staff are great about cleaning the empty tables timely and accommodating guests asap. I will definitely be back to try other dishes. The restaurant counter fulfills many takeout orders which is a good sign the food is good. Utensils are single use chopsticks and sauce containers. Tables have Sriracha, hoisin sauce and fish sauce. Drinks are served in plastic cups.
Wow, this is our first time trying pho VH and I am so glad we stumbled on this little gem. The pho is absolutely delicious !! Love that they do no MSG and still have such good flavors. The meats were so tender and high quality. My mom had the vermicelli noodle bowl with bbq pork/egg roll and that was equally delicious! We also got the crab soup and that was super yummy as well with lots of crab. I can honestly say this is the best pho I've had in OC and I've been to a LOT of pho places. We can't wait to come back!!! And the owners were so nice and gave great service :)

Great ingredients and excellent pho. Great presentation. However it's not 5 stars because instead of MSG they substitute it with sugar. Sugar is far worse for your health than MSG which is actually not bad for you. Look up the research. The flavor is just not there unless you really enjoy sugary pho. To their benefit it is not as sweet as others but for sugar lovers, I'm sure you'll love it. read more
Huge portions and friendly service. I like that they offer wide pho noodles and at no extra cost too. I also like they have topping option - ie pick 3 or 4. They were super generous with garnishes and I LOVE that they provide par-boiled bean sprouts and pickled onions. The only thing that threw me off was one of the herbs they give is what you normally put in the sour catfish soup dish.... I wish I hadn't added that to my pho. The pho itself was very clean tasting. It could have used a tiny bit more salt, but as-is I felt like I could drink the broth without feeling guilty. The rice plate was huge and good quality. Wow $13 pho and com tam ($12 when I went a few weeks ago, but someone posted the new menu and it is $13 now). I still think that's a great deal considering the HUGE portion they give you. We went on a Friday night and the place was packed but we got seated right away. Food came out fast. Everything tasted good. Service was great. I got pho (can choose up to 4 meats) and I selected tai, chin, bo vien. My friend got soup cua and com tam suon bi cha. The portion was huge. We couldn't finish our food. I was really hungry but I still couldn't finish the pho by myself. If you are not hungry, you can easily share one meal with another person. My friend really loves the crab soup. I didn't get to try the com tam here but I've had the com tam from the Com Tam VH food truck so I'm assuming it is similar taste which I really love. read more

Based on the name, I think it's pretty safe to assume this place specializes in pho. But this spot that feels family owned and operated, located in a strip mall, actually has a menu with pretty good variety including a lot of other offerings of Vietnamese comfort food as well. When I came in, I was greeted and helped by some very kind folks. I was able to sit right away. Being my first visit I was definitely going to get the pho. I ordered a bowl with rare beef slices and well done brisket (what I usually get at most pho places). The broth was very tasty and really hit the spot. I also love that they give you a side of onions soaked in vinegar, steamed sprouts, and the usual greens and limes. Just a really great place and I definitely wanna come back to try some of the other menu items. read more
Wow the portion sizes are huge and a bowl of pho only cost like ~$12 with a free drink? Solid deal - the portion is like a large, there's a ton of every kind of meat, meat balls were delicious, soup was deep and rich, vegetables were fresh, they even give cut white onion without being asked. The com tam pork chop was thick and meaty, all the food tasted quite fresh. Com tam was just missing that essence of charcoal but otherwise it was great. Really friendly service, party of 4 with 1 baby and they pushed together two tables to give us more space - when the restaurant filled for lunch they just seated a party of 1 next to us to let us keep the space. Such a cozy place! It reminded me of when my parents had their restaurant, so I really feel for the smaller Vietnamese restaurants. They were so kind and cheerful even though my family was their only customer when we went. The food came out pretty quick and was so good on a cold night! Food was hot and good! read more

such yummy food and kind service. they give a generous portion of meat and this is one of the most affordable places around. it took me 3 separate meals to finish the bowl because the portion was so big! the complementary tapioca drink was such a nice surprise. we will be back! read more
I was running errands in the area and stopped by here for lunch. Had the noodles with grilled pork and egg rolls. Food was fresh and tasty. The meat was perfectly marinated and not overly salty and they gave a fair amount of meat. Egg rolls can use a bit more meat for filling though. I also ordered the crab soup to go but have not eaten it yet since I also bought a bunch of other foods to eat for the evening. Service was good and everyone was nice and pleasant. Reasonable prices. Pretty good Vietnamese food. Ordered the Crab Soup, Pho Tai, and Bun Thit Nuong with grilled pork and egg rolls. The crab soup was my favorite. It reminds of Chinese crab maw soup but with more flavor. It also came with a thousand year egg which I loved and a lot of soft crab pieces. This dish was delicious and I highly recommend it. Their Pho Tai is also good. The meat was soft and tender. The soup met the standards of what you'd expect a pho soup to taste like but better than average. The Bun Thit Nuong was good. The grilled pork was sweet and savory and was well charred for that bit of smokiness. The egg roll was well crisped. It also came with fried pork rinds which were crunchy and quite tasty. Overall, this place has pretty good Vietnamese food and would recommend it. The servers here are also very friendly. I also heard they are affiliated with the Com Tam Food Truck (XE Com Tam VH) which also has one of the best tasting com tam I've ever had. read more

if you're in oc, chances are you've heard of "xe com tam vh" -- and this spot is ran by the same people! serving up a limited menu, they've definitely perfected every bit of it to have the place filled with aunts and uncles both dining in and waiting in line. very tell-tale of the food!! the interior is a little worn and small, but it only adds to its "hole-in-the-wall"charm. every order comes with free & refillable nước mát (artichoke + pandan leaf tea), that's both refreshing and the perfect palate cleanser. for just $12, the pho came in a huge bowl loaded with so much meat. the broth was rich yet clean, with the perfect balance of savory and salty -- it even got high praise from my viet parents! a very VERY solid and comforting bowl of pho i recently visited their cơm tấm food truck not too long ago and loved it, so we had to order one at the restaurant as well! again, portion is incredibly generous and you get 2 huuuge pieces of sườn (bbq pork chop)! definitely don't get this kind of bang for your buck in the 626 everything was so good, perfectly seasoned, and so satisfying! highly recommend checking this place out. read more

Pho VH is honestly my favorite pho spot in the area! It has the closest flavor to the pho I used to have in Saigon, rich flavor and full of toppings. The rare beef is incredibly tender, and they give plenty of fresh herbs to enjoy alongside the bowl. Their Cơm Tấm is also amazing, the grilled pork is, tender, and perfectly seasoned. Another dish that keeps me coming back! One thing I really love is that every order comes with a complimentary refreshing drink, which is such a nice touch. I get pho to-go from here almost every week, and it never disappoints. If you're craving authentic, flavorful Saigon-style pho, this place is definitely worth trying! read more

Everything was great about this place. Exactly how I pictured it and then went beyond my expectations. I had attentive service accompanied by a cozy yet modern atmosphere and ambiance. The food was prepared amazingly even for such a simple sounding dish. The friend chicken reminded me of duck confit. Amazing Pho here along with affordable prices! Broth was delicious even though they don't use MSG! Ingredients 5/5 Very fresh herbs and nothing wilted. Onion slices are robust tasting. Presentation - 5/5 The way they do the plaiting definitely elevates the eating experience. Sauce station is stocked up nicely compared to other establishments. You know when the smallest detail such as the Sat Chili is good. What came next excites the pallet of of your mouth beyond words. We orderrd classic choose your own meat and ox tail pho. The side herbs are chosen like a 5 star gourmet restaurant. I haven't even gotten to the broth (no msg) yet. The subtlety of flavors that come together into this delicious melody from star anise to others bring happiness to any day. The meats are soft not rushed, cooked to perfection. The flavors literally are like a song. We also order the 5 crispy egg rolls which only true Vietnamese restaurants offer. I can tell you the sauce was perfect and the preparation of the spectacular filling of pork meat and vegetable was on point. Overall this restaurant is an experience in culinary delight. The setting is modest, like a home cooked meal from a loving family member, the price is amazing given the absolute family friendly atmosphere. DONT MISS THIS ONE. read more
