If you're looking for one of the best bowls of soup in town, Mi A Dong is it! This is one of my favorite local mom and pop spots and I truly think it's underrated. Order the combination soup with egg noodles or the BBQ duck soup with egg noodles. Either way, you're good. Both are comforting, flavorful, and consistently hits the spot. If you're lucky and they haven't run out, ask for a Chinese donut to dip into your soup. So good! Definitely grab a Vietnamese coffee too and if you love spice like I do, don'sforget to add spoonfuls of the pickled serrano peppers that are on the table. I'm Vietnamese, and I usually only come here when my older Vietnamese relatives want to go mostly because they do all the ordering. I've never seen this place truly busy for lunch, even during peak seasons, so there's almost always a table available. The setup is very bare-bones: you sit down, place your order, they nod and walk away, and your food comes out about 10-15 minutes later. Service is minimal so if you ask for water, they might say okay and forget, so you may need to remind them. This place is best known for their egg noodles, and the most recommended order is the #7. You can get it "wet" (noodles in broth) or "dry" (noodles served separately with broth on the side). My family always orders it dry so we can mix the noodles in the sauces at the table, then sip the broth on the side. It's especially delicious if you like thin, spaghetti-like egg noodles with a good al dente bite. Ironically, my out of state friend recommended this place for Mi Vit Tiem to me recently and that was how I got around to try this place out! Mi A Dong is a solid spot for egg noodle soup. Hubby took me here before the pandemic to try out their food and it was really good. I didn't expect this little hole in the wall to be this delicious. I only ate in once but remembered the restaurant being rather untidy. The spoons were kind of sticky so I ended up cleaning it thoroughly with a napkin and some water. One thing I've learned after going to this place is not listening to my mom's recommendations. She likes this place because of their stir fried pho, but tbh food and service are not great. We came on a Sunday for lunch intending on going to Quan Mii but the wait was too long so my mom recommended this place instead since it's in the same plaza. We had to wait for a bit because the place was full. When we got in, they didn't give us our menus for a while til we asked. Then, they took a really long time to take our order and everything came out slowly. To be fair, there was only one guy working the tables. I felt bad for him because he had to bring people in, take orders, bring out food, AND bus the tables. There was another guy helping to bring out food and a lady (maybe a manager) who was bringing out drinks They definitely were short staffed for a Sunday afternoon. In general, the floors were both dirty and slippery because of soup spills. It was really stuffy in the restaurant too, like there was no air circulation. My dad and my husband both ordered com tam suon nuong (grilled pork) with eggs but they somehow forgot to include the suon nuong in my husband's dish. Isn't that the main part?? We also had to ask for water several times bc they kept forgetting. As for my stir fried pho dish, it was ok. Not great, but at least they have a lot of veggies on the plate. We went to try this restaurant for the first time today since the original restaurant we wanted to have was packed at 12pm. A quick look on yelp for the pictures of the food and we found it to our liking. When we walked in, there were a few empty tables left. I would eat this with rice when i'm under the weather. - The put fried pork with its oil on the soup and noodle and this is why the taste is sooo delicious. - If you don't like cilantro, asked for no cilantro since they put it on the soup and noodle. I had to ordered another one of small wonton with small egg noodle with soup on the side but without the meat & cilantro for myself. - Small noodle is on the chewy side which I'm not a fan of but still good. - Tasted the Thai iced tea and it tasted sour - like a spoiled milk. I had my husband tried it and he thought it was with coconut milk. After another coupe sips, I asked the lady owner about the milk and she said the milk is new and fresh. It didn't taste like a fresh milk at all. My husband didn't want to drink his Vietnamese coffee after hearing it. Service: - Was nice and friendly. I was looking at the menu and the guy owner was so nice to help out with a big smile and excitement. - I noticed that they do have helpers to bring food from the kitchen but they only work at the kitchen. - Both of the owners are the ones cleaned the tables, take orders, served other services (water & new bottle of chili) and in the register. Came in on a weekend for noodles as a late breakfast. It was pretty busy but we were seated right away. The environment is the usual mom and pop vietnamese noodle house, we ordered our noodle dishes and hot tea. The hot tea comes out in individual tea cups here, instead of a tea kettle. One of our tea cups had a lipstick stain on the rim... I love egg noodles with duck and this is the place to go whenever you're craving it! Located in the plaza with Sharetea and Vox Kitchen. This is a mom and pop shop that serves delicious egg noodle soup! What I recommend getting is the special egg noodle soup or the one I get is the egg noodle soup with the duck. You can get it either dry with the soup on the side or with the noodles in the broth. With the duck noodle soup I love how much duck they give you. The fattiness and the sweetness of the duck really complements the delicious broth that's seasoned with sesame oil and hoisin. The whole combination is a bomb of grease, umami and flavor. If you've never been here before please try the Chinese donut in your egg noodles! It's extra carbs but it soaks up the broth and adds a bit of texture. Along with that you can get the xiu mai as well! Condiments on the side always add a change to the broth. I love adding the garlic soaked in vinegar because I love that garlicky taste.
