Went to Long An on Bolsa St to get sugar cane drinks but saw Mi La Cay restaurant here and went in without hesitation. I was craving Mi La Cay for a while as it was one of my childhood favorites. I used to visit the one on Goldenwest & Westminster, so I thought it'd be nice to try the one here. I was disappointed that it didn't taste as good as I remembered, and my mom felt the same. The broth was too salty, the char siu pork was dry, and the chicken was also dry & tasteless. The fried shrimp was good, but it was missing the piece of crispy fried wonton on top. Despite my disappointment in the food, I appreciate that my server was very friendly and attentive.

Authentic Chinese noodle soups! You can't expect too much in terms of service as this is your authentic Asian restaurant where you walk in, they point where to sit, take your order and you just eat. Food is really good. This spot has been around for well over ten years! My go to is their special with either egg noodle, rice noodle, or you can have both noodles!

This restaurant is located in the strip mall that resembles the streets of Vietnam. There's vendors selling goods on the sidewalk. It's noisy with loud music blasting from inside a salon and loud chattering of vendors trying to get the attention of onlookers. I walked into the restaurant with fond memories of the Mi La Cay located on Goldenwest. Unfortunately, that restaurant closed down and this one doesn't serve fried noodles. So I ordered their dry noodle. To imagine this was the best noodle house in the past. Wow, how time has changed and left this restaurant behind. It doesn't really compare to some other noodle house.

Menu. Higher prices than the last post which I saw.

A pileup of issues sank this spot. Mi La Cay is a pretty old-school restaurant in a pretty old-looking plaza in Westminster. This location in theory has easier parking than the other one nearby in Garden Grove, so we settled on it even though the Yelp rating is lower. Perhaps it was a mistake. A number of factors combined to make the experience a bit unpleasant. I got the #21 Mi Kho Dau Hao Vit Tiem ($11.50), which is a dry egg noodle coated in oyster sauce, a braised duck leg, and a side of soup stock. Off the bat, the duck leg is too salty. I had to sip the broth not for flavor - it was fairly bland - but just to wash the salt off my palate. The green onion garnish in both serving vessels helped when I got it in a bite. And speaking of garnish, what's up with romaine lettuce being served instead of something like chives or bok choy? The noodle is the best part. It is al dente and very tasty, but it's not enough to carry the dish. The portion is also unsatisfyingly small, which I suspect doesn't change much even if you pick a different protein. On top of that, the heat was creeping in - not spiciness, but a warm summer day plus the hot broth. The A/C either isn't working well or the thermostat was deliberately set to a high temperature - shoutout to all my Las Vegas spots who know what needs to be done in the summer. And that's why it's a problem that they didn't even bring out the requested glass of iced water at first. You know Asian service makes it really hard to get anything served after your order is brought out, so I was over halfway done with my food anyway by the time I could find relief. There are better options for your noodle needs in this area. Skip this version of Mi La Cay if you can.

This place has always been the place to get mi lac cay for my family. Weirdly enough I feel like there's not many places that sell mi lac cay. Customer service is quick and I love their pickled jalepenos. I did wish they had the deep fried shrimp on a wonton. I've been here countless times!

Testing new place. I took the specialty here ( #1 Mi La Cay) Food was ok. Relatively Clean place. Service was quick. Ambiance relatively ok. When busy it's a bit loud. Ample places for parking. Total bill is $39. Each dish $12 x 3= $36 , we didn't order tea but they bring as default thinking it's free like the other restaurant. So it is NOT free. They should say before the bring at the table. So careful at this kind of practice.

Everything tastes great every time I go. No fancy decor in here and probably not the most sanitary looking but good is consistently good. I wish the waiter spoke English because he never gets my order right but eventually the lady comes out and corrects it. Love the hot sauce and vinegar sauce too.

The restaurant is old and the food is also. The duck was dry but had good flavor because maybe they get it from next door and freeze it. I wasn't satisfied with my dish but the coffee was good and woke my tired self up for a long day of driving. I'm sure their soup is better and I'll try it out next time. The server speaks English so don't feel discouraged by not knowing the language. I live in the Bay Area and we have one here that I haven't tried yet, but soon will and I'll compare to see what's best.

For years now this has been a family staple. Super quick service with delicious food. This is our favorite place to get Chinese style egg noodle soup in all of Orange County. The broth is flavorful and they give lots of protein as well. You can't go wrong with the number one soup order. Don't forget to get the fried donuts to dip into the broth. Honestly the perfect bite! They have a habit of closing a little before their listed time. We've missed them a few times. I was worried they wouldn't service COVID but I'm happy to see they're still going strong.

Actual rating : 3.5 This place is your old school noodle house. Pretty straight forward menu options from soup noodles to dry noodles. Upon ordering - The menu can be found pasted under the glass table top. Very filling meal as I ordered their mi Dac Biet (soup) comes Mixed with chicken, shrimp, and pork. The egg noodles were a bit hard to chew through as they're more on the bouncier side. The chicken was really tasty as I could tell it has that perfect smokiness to the skin upon biting into it. The pork was good as it had 10 spice flavor. Fried shrimp were ok. Tip : To avoid feeling rushed I recommend people should go into this place knowing what they want to order as typically Asian places like these expect to take your order upon sitting down.

The shrimp tasted old...didn't want to piss off my stomach, so I basically ate noodles, vegetables and squid.

First and last time trying this location. Lacked flavor...didn't have certain meats like other locations. Will resort back to my usual location on Westminster/Brookhurst.

I grew up coming…read morehere for family weddings and weekend dim sum, and it's still one of my favorite places to satisfy that craving. The restaurant has definitely evolved over the years. It feels like a younger team is running things now, making the service more efficient, while you'll still recognize some of the longtime employees that have been here for years. It's nice to see the tradition continue without losing what made this place special. Parking can be hectic since it's in a busy plaza, so I highly recommend arriving before 9:30 AM on weekends. The restaurant fills up fast, and the energy is always lively. Seating can be a little close for comfort at times, and you may end up dining right next to another party, but that's all part of the classic dim sum experience. The dining room is spacious and can easily accommodate parties of any size--from a table for one to large family gatherings of 20+. One change I noticed is there are fewer dim sum carts roaming around now. Instead, you can order most items directly from your server, which honestly makes it easier to get exactly what you're craving. The beverage cart still comes around with fresh fruit drinks, coffee, tea, and yes... even beer at 9 in the morning if that's your thing! If you want both dim sum and their lunch menu, plan to arrive around 10:30 AM. Lunch isn't served until 11:00 when the kitchen shifts over, so you can enjoy both in one visit. Our table was filled with all the classics. Such as har gow, siu mai, rice porridge with Chinese donut, and plenty more (definitely ordered more than we could finish). Don't forget to order the almond drink with the puff pastry as soon as you sit down because it takes about 30 minutes to prepare and is absolutely worth the wait. We also tried their newer weekend special, the fried tofu skin with shrimp, which my husband really enjoyed. One last tip: don't forget to check in on Yelp to save on wait time! Great service, authentic dim sum, and flavors that have stayed consistent for years. Seafood Cove 2 never disappoints and will always be my go-to spot whenever I'm craving dim sum.

This helped us get a table much faster than we would have than if we had just shown up and waited. We ordered the large family meal, and there were 12 of us. We also ordered the Newport Lobster, fish fillet with black bean sauce, and an extra shrimp fried rice. Overall, I think the food was good, and the prices are reasonable (except the lobster, which was pricey, as you might expect from anything listed as "market price"). Most of us in the group thought the fish fillet with black bean sauce was the best. I thought it was very good, but not necessarily fantastic. (There are other Chinese restaurants that do it a little better.) The sauce was very good, but the fish wasn't quite as tender as it can be. Definitely a solid 4 stars. Other dishes were good. I think the scallop soup could have been great for some people, but my wife and I both hate cilantro, and there was a ton of cilantro. The pork was also good, and my friends thought the clams were also really good. I found the fried rice a bit bland. And for both the lobster and the crab, they could have made them a little easier to eat by cracking the shells a bit more for us. I hate fighting with my food ... And there was a fair amount of fighting on these 2 dishes. The lobster cost almost much as all the other dishes combined. It certainly looked amazing. And the sauce was very good. But I found most of it a bit overcooked. Maybe it was our fault for asking for a big one. Maybe a smaller lobster might have been cooked a little less. The great sauce (along with the fighting with the shell) might have covered up the fact that the meat was actually a bit tough and rubbery. I don't think I'd order this again. The service was very friendly and pretty fast. And, again, other than the lobster, the pieces were pretty reasonable.

Our family joked around and would say let's go to the travel agency restaurant when we had a craving for Chinese/Vietnamese type of food. I recall the food back then was extra tasty and memorable, leaving me wanting to return again and again. However, my recent lunch outing with my girlfriends changed my mind. Our servers were attentive and friendly. I think it helped that my friend was a familiar customer. We came on a Monday afternoon around 11:30 and It was early enough where parking was still available. We ordered the classic dishes, including salt and pepper fried pork chopsand salt and pepper fried shrimp, but the taste this time around left a lot to be desired. These two dishes lacked the crunchiness and flavors that these fried entrees are supposed to showcase. We found the pork chops to be dry and tough, as if it was prepared a while ago and sitting out for some time before it made its way to our table. The shrimp was not impressive either. At least the shaking beef or bo luc lac was good. The beef chunks were tender, and the flavors were on point. Bonus points for the broth that is complimentary during lunch. Also the complimentary orange slices were a nice touch to end our meal. We'd still return for the lobster and noodle when the occasion comes up.
