Haven't been back here for long time. Still the same decor, same folks (family members & could staff), same old goodies noodle. Easy parking since I was there early in the morning plus the parking lot is big too. The good, down to earth service by the aunt. She remembered all the regular customers, even when they didn't show up for awhile. She asked if I want the same thing that I alway ordered l, and of course I wanted. And just like that I felt at home. A catchup on the place & family. The noodle is the same, consistency and tasted as I remembered. Somehow I got more meats than I remembered but why ask right. Don't let the picture fool you. It may look like an ordinary egg noodle dish but it's quite a scrumptious meal. The broth is light and clear just like your future that you wish you had lol. A simple egg noodle dish with some roasted chicken or duck with some crispy fried shrimp. But the secret is the sauce... What I recommend is to create your own bang bang sauce on the side to dip your assortment of meats in. My go-to explosion of flavor condiments that I always make is equal parts of 1 spoon full of soy sauce, 1 spoon full of vinegar, 1 spoon full of hoison sauce, and 1 spoonful of sirracha and ask for lemon wedges to squeeze in there. Mix in some pickled garlic and/or jalapenos and you'll thank me later. P.S Don't forget the Chinese donuts! Worth the $15 worth of bowl. Great service and friendly atmosphere. Still one of my favorite mom and pop shops for egg noodles. Ive been going to them as a child. I love their mi vit tim. The egg noodles are al dente chewy. The broth is super flavorful and it's reasonably priced. It's very casual. The food comes out pretty fast. The parking lot is small and cramped but there's quite a bit of parking reserved for the restaurant right in front. They take cash and card. Wherever i order takeout, they always show me the food, broth and condiments and ask if I need anything else. I love how homey they make me feel. read more

I was excited to try the roasted duck noodles after hearing reviews online! I came by around 5:15, and saw they close at 5:30. They happily greeted us and we sat and ordered the dry duck noodles ($14). Once we got the food, I noticed there wasn't much duck meat. They asked if we needed anything else and we let them know we were good. I thought the noodles were very chewy and hard to bite. The noodles had decent flavor. It also came with a soup and it was quite salty to me. The staff there were very nice though. I am not sure I would come back unfortunately. Staff was super nice and always checked in on us I like the Mi Vit Quay better than the Mi La Cay personally because the duck makes the broth that much richer in taste. My husband loves the pho here. It had plenty of meat and noodles in it and was served at the perfect temperature. My chicken was good but not super flavorful. The rice was at the perfect temperature and the iced tea was good too. The service was good too. This is one of the few places in the area that actually come and refill your drink. I have been going to this place for noodle soups a few years. After CoVid, prices went up and quality went down. I use small amount of MSG in my own cooking and am not allergic to it, but after a bowl of soup here I had headache, high tension in the occipital nerves at the back of my neck and the spinal nerves, all seemed to be on fire, blood pressure also went up, mouth dry and thirsty, like in a huge hang over, not good for health. I am guessing excessive MSG or some harmful chemicals are used in the soup. I was waiting for a Chinese noodle soup bowl in the food court at Lion Plaza in San Jose, saw the owner scoop up half a ladle of MSG and put into my bowl. Shops do this quickly at the end so Health Dept cannot find evidence of excessive chemical use in food to enhance taste and to get clients addicted to their MSG-laden food. I am not allergic to any food, but this place La Cay is one of the few in Little Saigon that gives me food allergy.
