I was aggressively craving some BBH after a Halloween night. I needed some hearty broth to help with my hangover. My aunt suggested we go here and I'm so glad. It's very limited seating as most people order to go. The bun Bo hue was rich in flavor and hearty. The meat was all that I wanted- 5/5. We ordered and banh beo on the side. I would have preferred it in the little dishes but again this place is to go so they set it up on one dish. These were also really good - 4/5. They also gave us each that yellow liquid in a cup. I forget if it was tea or like a savory broth LOL.

Food is ok but the service and dining environment are awful. I tried to ask turn on the air conditioner but got answered no. Won't come back. 避雷 避雷 千万别来 很热的环境老板娘还不开空调, 还不给水喝。

Easy to ordered Togo. Ordered ahead for easy pick up service. I ordered the Banh Cuon Thit Nuong. Very tasty which comes with their house sauce. It's $2 a piece and I ordered 10 pieces. My husband devoured this dishes and loves it. Also ordered a large Bun Bo Hue, I believe it was $14 for large bowl. Tastes pretty good and I can taste they put shrimp paste in it. I also order Banh nam which is shrimp with mincemeat pork wrapped in banana leaf. I really missed this so had to ordered it. It hit the spot but I am used to the minced pork only without the shrimp with Banh nam. Ambiance is a pick and go place. There are some tables for dining in but I don't see people dining in. Will come back for the regular traditional Banh cuon.

Great for casual dining. I know they also do catering trays and to go orders. Mom and I came in for banh canh tom cua. Both got regular size bowls which were more than filling. I don't know how much crab was in it but there were shrimp balls and dried shrimp and greens and onions. With the amount of shrimp balls, I'm not mad that the crab was missing. Broth was simple but flavorful, banh canh was chewy, and shrimp balls were beo. I'm definitely coming back to try other items.

Recently ordered from BBH togo because a friend recommended it. I got a large bowl and it was listed at $13 a bowl. I do love how it came with so much fresh veggies, it had a variety of herbs I don't usually see with BBH so that was nice. Meat was semi tender, noodles were soft and puffy, the shrimp and fish/meat ball was tasty. The pork piece could have been more tender, and the pork blood is always tasty lol. The shrimp/fish/meatball were HUGE and I quite enjoyed that. The broth itself was ok, but I was missing more of the spice spice if you know what I mean. Comparing it to the other popular BBH place, I think this one lacks that dimension, that extra essence. Growing up as a kid, I frequent this plaza a lot and would wander in and out of all the stores. This place has been here forever and it has changed throughout the years. I remember when it was just a strict togo place, but now they have added tables and you can dine in as well. I'm glad to see this place still surviving after all these years. When I went to go order my food, a few people came in to order party trays etc. If you're an avid BBH lover like myself, and want to try all the ones in the area, I would give this one a try. You never know, your taste buds might be difference than mine.

If you want soapy banh beo... this is the place! Bought Banh Beo for Chinese New Year for the family. It looks great until you eat it. It literally has a detergent (soap) taste to it. We called to let them know that banh beo has a floral scent to it. Their response was, "it's new year- Please don't call and complain. We sold thousands of these with zero complaints." and hung up on me. We bought little over $200 worth of food... I mean, the rest of the food was alright except Banh beo. The customer service was unpleasant though.

The dumplings are huge, generously filled, and really satisfying for the price. The kids loved them, and the all-you-can-eat option makes it a fun experience for families or groups. The quality can be a little inconsistent at times and it's definitely more of a budget-friendly comfort food experience rather than a high-end dim sum restaurant, but overall the food is tasty, filling, and fairly priced. Service was friendly, the staff kept things moving, and there are a ton of different options to try. I jokingly described it as "kind of like a Sizzler for dumplings" -- not as an insult, but because there's a huge variety of food and it has that casual, family-style comfort food vibe. If you go in expecting luxury dining, this probably isn't the place. But if you want good portions, variety, and a relaxed atmosphere, it's definitely worth checking out.

Our server even brought the lobster out for a quick photo op before it was taken back to be prepared, which made the night feel a little more special. We ended up with around 12 main entrees plus some drinks, and the total was surprisingly affordable for the amount of food we ordered. Definitely a solid spot for group dinners and celebrations. Only downside is parking can be a bit tricky, especially on a busy weekend night, so plan a little extra time for that. Overall, would absolutely come back!

Whenever I'm in Garden Grove, Korean and Vietnamese cuisine will always take precedence. However,…read moremy most recent trip pivoted from the norm, and Noodle Star became the destination. The end result? Reasonable prices, warm service, and very tasty food. Like so many Chinese restaurants, the name and theme is inherently confusing. Up until last year, the place was Harbor Garden and it's rebranded to Noodle Star ever since. The Chinese name ("川粵" aka "Chuan Yue") would imply there is a Sichuan + Cantonese component to the offerings, despite the words "teppanyaki" and handmade noodles (手工麵) noted on the exterior as well as on signs on the interior. Typically any restaurant that dabbles in multiple regional Chinese variations (Sichuan, Cantonese, Shanghainese, Lanzhou, etc.) is a huge flight risk. Surprisingly, it all worked out. All of my orders were from different regions of the country, starting with a Cantonese beef chow fun (乾炒牛河) that was delightfully smokey from the wok hei (#1) and the noodles and beef were silky and smooth. While the noodles aren't as wide as I would have liked, they were still 100% workable in the dish. The Taiwanese style popcorn chicken (鹽酥雞) was wonderfully fried and the chicken was still juicy on the inside. Their napa cabbage + shrimp + pork steamed dumplings (白菜豬肉蝦水餃) were pillowy soft and steamed perfectly. They were plump and not too doughy; which is very appropo for a northern Chinese dish. The biggest surprise may have come from the soup dumplings (小籠包), which had just the right amount of soup and a very delicate dumpling skin that was downright excellent. The service was kind, attentive, and very bilingual with Mandarin and English. Prices might feel high to non-Cali folks, but the spectrum is very much on the Socal average. (#2). Bathrooms were mostly clean and the seating options were plentiful; solid for large and small group action. Parking can be tough on the weekends since it's a strip mall. I already know that I'll be back. If I was able to order 4 regions and they all came out excellent (#3), I can only imagine how excellent the rest of the house special group of dishes will be. __________ (#1) "Essence of the wok" -- it's a thing. This helped us get a table much faster than we would have than if we had just shown up and waited. We ordered the large family meal, and there were 12 of us. We also ordered the Newport Lobster, fish fillet with black bean sauce, and an extra shrimp fried rice. Overall, I think the food was good, and the prices are reasonable (except the lobster, which was pricey, as you might expect from anything listed as "market price"). Most of us in the group thought the fish fillet with black bean sauce was the best. I thought it was very good, but not necessarily fantastic. (There are other Chinese restaurants that do it a little better.) The sauce was very good, but the fish wasn't quite as tender as it can be. Definitely a solid 4 stars. Other dishes were good. I think the scallop soup could have been great for some people, but my wife and I both hate cilantro, and there was a ton of cilantro. The pork was also good, and my friends thought the clams were also really good. I found the fried rice a bit bland. And for both the lobster and the crab, they could have made them a little easier to eat by cracking the shells a bit more for us. I hate fighting with my food ... And there was a fair amount of fighting on these 2 dishes. The lobster cost almost much as all the other dishes combined. It certainly looked amazing. And the sauce was very good. But I found most of it a bit overcooked. Maybe it was our fault for asking for a big one. Maybe a smaller lobster might have been cooked a little less. The great sauce (along with the fighting with the shell) might have covered up the fact that the meat was actually a bit tough and rubbery. I don't think I'd order this again. The service was very friendly and pretty fast. And, again, other than the lobster, the pieces were pretty reasonable.

Our servers were attentive and friendly. I think it helped that my friend was a familiar customer. We came on a Monday afternoon around 11:30 and It was early enough where parking was still available. We ordered the classic dishes, including salt and pepper fried pork chopsand salt and pepper fried shrimp, but the taste this time around left a lot to be desired. These two dishes lacked the crunchiness and flavors that these fried entrees are supposed to showcase. We found the pork chops to be dry and tough, as if it was prepared a while ago and sitting out for some time before it made its way to our table. The shrimp was not impressive either. At least the shaking beef or bo luc lac was good. The beef chunks were tender, and the flavors were on point. Bonus points for the broth that is complimentary during lunch. Also the complimentary orange slices were a nice touch to end our meal. We'd still return for the lobster and noodle when the occasion comes up.
