Yes the place lis a hole in the wall but honestly you cannot go wrong with the pho here. If my hubby isn't making his pho at home we come here when we are craving it. We recommend this place to any friends and family visiting. The price is very reasonable. read more

Come here for good food, not good service. This is a very busy restaurant due to its tasty food. They have large tables for multiple families to sit together with a small space between. It take a few minutes to place your order. The menu is very large so take your time looking through it! You can order using the coinciding number next to the meal. Once you place your order it comes out within 10 minutes of ordering. The ingredients are VERY fresh and delicious. Right next door they have delicious boba drinks. After you get Pho you can go right next door to grab a drink. read more

We just love this place! We usually come here for the delicious pho but today we tried new dishes. We tried the pork chops with broken rice, and the pork vermicelli. We always get spring rolls and egg rolls because again, we know how amazing they are. All the dishes had great flavor, and had enough food to get the two of us super food and now in a happy food coma. Also, they are not stingy at all with the sauces that come with it. Lots of peanut sauce, hot sauce, soy sauce, etc. I would definitely recommend stopping by for the delicious and very reasonably priced food. read more

The best Vietnamese food in the downtown area! The pho is fresh and flavorful. The bánh mì is solid. My particular favorite are the spring rolls. Pro tip: on busy nights they stop taking phone orders for takeout. But if you show up in person they will take your order and have it ready in 10-15 minutes. If you really wanna have yourself a night, hit up the market next door for some exotic fruit and milk run for ice cream while you're waiting. read more

Clearly, by the number of reviews for this place, people already know how great Pho Thanh is. So this review is purely to spread the gospel of Pho Suon Bo (#19B) aka the Pho Thanh Special. I've been coming here to eat pho regularly until one day, I saw a big family enjoying their food and one person had a steaming bowl of pho with a huge, meaty beef rib sticking out of it. Stop. What?? I didn't even know that existed in the whole history of my enjoyment of pho! I ended up flagging down a waiter to ask what the name of the dish was, because it looked so good. Ever since then, the Pho Suon Bo is my go-to order and if you're a fan of pho and meat that falls off the bone, now you know, too :) read more

Overview: Pho Thanh is no frills and truly delicious. Some of the best pho in the valley, and a great price. Give them a try. What else is there to say that hasn't been said? Hot delicious pho, fresh plentiful veg toppings, quick non-fancy style service, and great prices. I do wish their Cha Gio was wrapped in rice paper, but it's tasty enough that I don't mind. As far as COVID precautions, I couldn't say because I haven't been in since quarantine started. read more

IF I COULD GIVE NEGATIVE STARS I WOULD! First of all the lady charged me $7 because she gave me a drink with ice after I said I want no ice. She tried to say it was already poured as I watched the lady just scoop the ice when I said it and she simply just had to dump the ice out as if it was worth $7.. ANYWAYS... I order veggie eggrolls and she charges me for spring rolls that I don't even like and I didn't see it as it was at the bottom and I checked almost everything else it seemed good to go. NOPE 35 min later from getting home I see spring rolls. I tried calling it goes to voicemail. This is absurd! I'm so upset I threw everything away because why give a chance to like you when you totally were out of line from the start. Don't walk RUN from here! read more

I discovered this place like 8 years ago....and I still love this place! Been to many different Pho Houses.....but this is the one I always come back too! Added bonus is that my daughters live right across the street from them too!! So they enjoy coming here as well!! And the grandkids also.....its a generational affair!! Love the food and the price is just right!! Years ago this place was so small and crowded you would wait outside in line for a table, but since they expanded it a couple of years ago its a lot bigger and more table! They actually added a Boba Drink stand next door! Fabulous!! read more

Always good!! Best pho in phoenix. Puts the pho in phoenix. Big and sometimes busy. Seems authentic.

The food was good, but service was horrible. Especially the older man that took our order. He was rushing to get our order, and didn't even get our entire order correct. Once he took our order he was gone. We wanted to order more drinks and he was nowhere to be found. It's a bummer because this was our first time here and that made our experience not very good. read more

Finally found an authentic pho restaurant in the area! Food was delicious BUT I am sad that I won't be dining in here until Covid-19 is better in Az. Did not feel safe dining here. They did close off some tables but the restaurant was still packed and everyone seated wasn't wearing masks. I understand that you don't have to wear one when you eat but it isn't a good feeling hearing people cough a table over when we're sharing the same air with lack of air circulation. Also our table was sharing the sriracha bottles with the table over which I'm sure they're not sanitizing between use. Utensils are also out in open which are high contact points. Otherwise, great food! And for those mentioning service, as Ali Wong once said, you know it's authentic when the serves don't pay attention to you. read more

I ordered a tofu Pho noodle and added sliced beef today and I got shocked and upset. Always order same thing and usually don't look at their menu but how come it came out over $20 for one veggie pho noodle. I love love love this place. I've been coming here for over 8 years now, when they only had one side of the dining room open. Many will think the people here are rude for not asking how your food is every 2 minutes, it's culture. When you come here, let the people know how many are in your party, they'll sit you down with waters and menus, and come by in a few minutes. Make sure you know what you want as soon as they get to you. I highly recommend #113 (yes over 100 items on their menu) with the meat outside. The meat cooks perfectly when placed in the broth, have to try it! read more

Shut the Pho up this Chicken Soup is so darn good. I been dining here for many years but failed to write a review. This traditional Vietnamese restaurant is my favorite Pho spot. The taste is consistent and always flavorful. I have tried other options on the menu however I am hooked on their Pho. For the price point you can leave full. This place is the real deal. It's a whole in the wall that caters to large groups or family who want the real deal. The service is nothing spectacular but it is more of a sit down, order and eat at fast pace. Not a date night place or fancy girls night out. Just a real meal with a home flavorful appeal. If you want to try something different to drink check out the drink menu. The coffee will keep you up all night long, or drink from a Coconut, maybe some real Chi tea or settle on a can of soda. read more

A lot of my friends seem to like this place... but I don't know. I've been three times. The service is typically awful at best, which honestly. I can get passed. The food is okay, but there are other places I prefer better. But honestly, the thing that freaks me out, is when you take the pho to go... it congeals. Literally looks like little clumps of fat... which doesn't make me want to put it in my body. I'm half Vietnamese so my family makes pho (mostly at holidays), and it doesn't happen. And I also order to go at other places and haven't experienced this. So for me, it's a pass on the pho. Of I go here, I'll stray for like the Vietnamese crepe or a rice dish. read more

Pho Thanh Arrived on a Saturday about 1:30pm and small parking lot was full, waited a few minutes and got a space when someone was leaving. Restaurant was completely full but as people arrived, someone were leaving so there was really no wait. If you are looking for a fancy Pho / Noodle / Asian food, definitely don't come here, this is no frills, blue collar, minority, hole in the wall, inexpensive. But I enjoyed this place very much. Order quickly because they bring it out quickly and turn your table, then you go to stand up in line to pay. They don't bring you a check, you go to the area where the sign says pay here and tell them what table # you were at. We ordered the following - #15 Pho Tai name sliced beef and beef brisket - $6.45 #26 Mi Hoanh Thanh Egg Noodles Soup with pork wontons, shrimp, squid, pork, fish meatballs and a quail egg - $7.45 Bowls are good size and will certainly fill you up. Very good broth filled with lots of meat, shrimp, wonton and pork. Don't forget to leave some room to go next door to Milk Run. Will certainly be back! read more

Pho Thanh is my absolute favorite pho spot in the Valley! They have speedy service, an extensive menu and most of all, the best pho! Whether I go alone or with a group of people, I always enjoy my time here. Most recently, I was craving pho on a rainy day and it was the best thing to satisfy my cravings. Nothing beats getting out of the cold rain and into a bowl of hot pho. Pair that with either an appetizer like their delicious egg rolls or a sweet little dessert like their banh flan, and you'll love your time here. Hint: If you're looking for a different treat instead, the restaurant is next door to Milk Run, so that's always another convenient option. Pho Thanh is always my go to pho restaurant and the one I recommend the most to friends whenever they are in the mood for it. But like I said, their menu is extensive and I'm sure all the other items on the menu is just as delicious as their pho. read more

The best part of Pho Thanh is the flavor of pho broth. It really tastes home made where the bones are boiled for hours. Also, you don't taste any msg here; I've noticed I didn't get overly thirsty after eating here. I only wished my pho came out hotter. Once I added the bean sprouts, the broth wasn't hot enough to blanch them. Spring rolls were freshly made and was really tasty. This place gets packed but service is fast. Tables are set up very close to one another so be friendly to your neighbors. Would go again. read more

Been wanting to try this place for a while now. First time trying this place, and it was underwhelming to say the least. The table we sat in was sticky and not sure why but it stunk. TLDR: The restaurant itself is pretty large and has a lot of seating options, however appears to be minimally staffed for the size of the restaurant. My fiancé and I came late on an afternoon on a Sunday and ordered Pho, egg rolls and spring rolls. All of the food was delicious and pretty affordable but I have to admit the service was very slow and it was difficult to get the attention of staff. At the end of your meal they have you pay at the counter which is honestly good because if you had you wait to receive and pay for your check it probably would tale a long time based on how slow the overall service was. It seemed like there was one server who would come out with a cart, carrying only one order out at a time... so for example, he'd come out of the kitchen with a two tiered cart carrying only one or two items on the top level, drop the order off at a table, roll the cart all the way back to the kitchen, come out with another single order, roll the cart over to drop off that order at the table next to the one he just visited, roll the cart back to kitchen and so on... it felt like at times he could have been more efficient bringing out both orders on the same cart and delivering them back to back vs. going back and forth to the kitchen every single time for individual orders? But maybe they have a process they are following that I'm not considering. However, like other reviewers have mentioned, you're coming here for the food and not the service. Our food tasted authentic and we both really enjoyed our meal despite how slow it felt at times. Glancing around you could tell other guests were puzzled and felt the same way, yet there were still a ton of people dining in and picking up to-go orders. We would definitely come back but now knowing exactly what to expect :) rating a 4 because the food is definitely above average in comparison to other pho/Vietnamese spots in the PHX area but the service is not quite there for me to rate a 5 right now. read more

While being in the West valley, this is a pretty long drive for me. Although I know that some can agree that their own mother/ grandmother or someone in their family that they make the best pho and that going to somewhere else isn't just good enough. Then there's Pho Thanh, I gotta day it's pretty good, not close to my mother's pho but it hits the spot. The portions are big, the prices are decent compared to the ones in Arizona and I usually end up satisfied everytime I'm here. It's a good spot to eat when my mom isn't making pho. I got the veggie pho with spring rolls and they were pretty decent for the price! It's been a while since I came back to this place so it's time for an updated review. One day after training at work and we decided to stop by and get some lunch. The location was packed, and cluttered, has good natural lighting, and the tables were pretty clean. The service was pretty fast for me, they ordered our food fast. However I did notice others walking out because they still haven't got the menu or water. The line to pay your bill was long as always, took a good 10 minutes to pay for the meal. The parking still sucks over here, spare the headaches and park across the street and walk over. Coworker ordered the pho with everything in it, and I got the Pork Blood Congee. My meal was quite flavourful, and the pho was reported to be excellent. Pretty decent food here. Didn't get a chance to use the loo, it has been occupied the entire time by someone. I would highly recommend using the loo prior to coming to this location. Overall a decent experience, and don't see why we wouldn't be back. read more

Mediocre food. Even worse service. No stars found here. Soup was average, noodles were really soggy. We were given the wrong drink from our order. We tried to replace it but it never came. When we asked the manager to remove the drink from our bill, he told me if the waiter wrote it down, he's charging me for it. He then proceeded to yell at me. This is after making us wait in line for 15min to pay because they screwed up the previous to-go order and was deliberating in viet without once acknowledging the waiting guests. The Vietnamese community are sweet people and this joint is a big fat NO for me. Go anywhere but here. To top it off, the manager was doing full body sneezes towards the direction of the diners. Hell no!! read more

Spacious inside, parking lot can get crowded, connected milk tea shop, but most importantly the pho is bomb

Of the handful of legitimate Vietnamese restaurants in the area, Pho Thanh is - hands down - the best. The pho broth is far better and heartier than that of any competitor. There's no great way to describe it other than to say try it and you will immediately taste the difference. The spring rolls, however, are better at other place. They are by no means bad, but not the same caliber as the pho. read more

One of the best viet food place in Arizona, family owned small business. Definitely might go to place for whenever I'm craving Pho. With that said, know that you are here for the food and not for the service. It's hard to flag the waiter down for anything and it's much faster if you just go up to the counter and get what you want on your own like spoons and extra plates or sauce. I believe the owner of the place also own the Boba place and the Chinese food place in that same plaza. If you've never had sugarcane drink before I suggest you get one. read more

I have been on the hunt for good pho ever since I moved to Phoenix. I'm originally from Denver, but lived in LA for a year, so I've had some goooood pho. I've tried a couple of different places since I've been here, but really didn't enjoy any of them... And then I discovered Pho Thanh. It looka a little sketchy and uninviting from the outside and parking was a little difficult (pro-tip: we actually discovered a huge parking lot in the back. There are some signs that say additional parking is available in the back, but they're not entirely visible!), but this place is great. I came here with a coworker for lunch and it was SO BUSY and PACKED. There's nothing special about the interior. It's plain and simple, but this place is HUGE. Yet despite how crowded this place was, the staff was able to quickly seat us, take our order, and deliver our food. And oh my god. Their pho was absolutely delicious! The broth was fresh and flavorful, the portion was generous, they had a ton of condiments on their table, the vegetables were fresh, and everything was reasonably priced! It tasted like home! Also, their menu is HUGE. If you don't like pho, but you like authentic Vietnamese food, this place has it all! My coworker isn't too big on Yelp, but said to me, "this place is amazing! you better give them five stars!" I couldn't agree more. Fantastic service, fantastic food. Very tasty and comforting bun bo hue. Hella meat inside, I mean a lot. Great amount of soup too, probably most soup I've ever had, it was delicious.
