Eventually, I will have eaten pho at all of the pho joints in central Indiana. There aren't that many, as of this writing, so it won't be difficult. Pho Plus is a place to get pho in Carmel. It's not the pho-iest pho I've ever pho'd, but it did its job, which was to open up my sinuses and help me blow my nose. Isn't that why people eat pho? That's why I eat pho. I got the Vietnamese version of chicken noodle soup: pho ga, or chicken pho. There are many other varieties on the menu, but pho ga is my go-to (or my ga-to, if you will). Pho comes with a plate of delicious additions: bean sprouts, Thai basil, wedges of lime, jalapeño slices. Add as much or as little as you want. There's a bottle of Sriracha and another sauce on the table, and I highly suggest a couple of squeezes of Sriracha in the bowl for flavor. Chopsticks are standard here and on the table -- I suppose you can ask for a fork. One interesting thing that I noticed was that there are two Supreme bears standing sentinel at either end of the door, looking out the window. First of all: I didn't know Supreme made bear statues? Second of all: Why would a Vietnamese restaurant decorate their restaurant with statues from a streetwear company? So many questions. (OK, just two questions.) I guess I'll probably ask them the next time I visit. Pho Plus has a menu full of other tasty-looking things, like bahn mi and fried rice, so there are lots of things to try. read more

A new Vietnamese place on my side of the town? I had to check it out. Since I didn't really have time to dine it, I ordered carry out. Bon Vermicelli bowl with grilled shrimp (Bun Tom Nuong) and you can add 2 eggrolls for only $3 to that order. I jumped on that of course. The noodles came with large grilled shrimp, noodles on bed of romaine, a section with carrots and cucumbers, chopped peanuts on the side as well as sauce on the side. Quite a portion. The eggrolls were nice and crispy. Delicious. But the highlight of my order were the sesame balls. Omg, they are perfect. So much so none of them made it home since I ate them all on the way. They are small but there were 6 of them. The outside with the sesame has a little crunch to it, especially the seeds. The inside remains soft and stretchy as well as the dot of red bean paste inside. It was recommended to eat them while they are still warm, which was no problem for me. As I said, none of them survived longer that 5 minutes. I was looking for a new Pho spot to try and I had came acrossed Pho Plus's reviews here in Yelp and decided to try them out. The ambiance was very modern and fun. The establishment is small but could comfortably seat a group of four people. The music wasn't very loud but had a good mix of 90s and today's R&B and pop. When I walked in, it wasn't very busy...there was just a table of two. I had came in at the same time as one of the waitress's close friends. Unfortunately, I was not greeted but seeing that it was a pleasant surprise to the waitress I decided to give them some time to catch up. I was able to find a menu at the front counter and seat myself. I ordered the Pho Choice option for my Pho meat options I chose to add shrimp and brisket. There's only one size Pho and I was very pleased it was a large. I also ordered shrimp spring rolls and was surprised that they had Banh Mi sandwiches on their menu, so I ordered the Bo Xao as well. There wasn't a long wait for the food and all three items came out together. The Pho broth was a well seasoned before I added the sauces but I was surprised to have more noodles than meat being that I chose the multiple meat option. My spring rolls were great, and the Banh Mi sandwich had a soft bun and was very good as well. I plan on ordering a Beef Vermicelli Bowl or the Korean short ribs rice place to go soon. Fun, bright space. Great menu of all the classic Vietnamese dishes. Banh mi sandwiches are very good. They use a dense, chewy Midwest style bread rather than California, flaky Drench baguette style, but they're really good. Wife really enjoyed the pho. Clear broth and wife noted she could tell there was little, if any, MSG in it, an additive that often leaves one very thirsty after eating pho. This is worth a trip to visit. read more

I am new to the world of pho, but now that I'm here, wild horses couldn't drag me away. I heard somewhere that pho is great for clearing out your sinuses (and "somewhere" was absolutely correct!! Dear lawd!). So, on a day that the weather is doing exactly what Indiana weather does (screw with my sinuses!), pho for lunch seemed like a great option. And let me tell you: This idea was the bee's knees (I think that is only the second time I've ever actually used that phrase in real life). A simple little joint, as soon as I was seated, as hostess was out quickly to take my order. Ummm, pho tai for me, please! The little slices of rare beed continue to cook and soak up the delicious broth. Your pho comes with a plate of bean sprouts, sliced jalapeño, lime wedges and the most beautiful sprig of Thai basil. Add as much or little of these accompaniments to your soup. There is also sriracha on the table if you so choose. I so chose. (Question: is pho considered a soup? It has delicious broth, so I would think so. A noodle soup, right? I'm splitting hairs, but I overthink things when I'm fighting a sinus headache.) Speaking of headaches, mine is 95% gone! I just realized that. Is it the ibuprofen or the pho? The world may never know. But surely it was mostly the pho based on the amount of napkins I went through. I apologize to the trees and thank you for your sacrifice to help during my time of runny-nose need! There were other delicious things on the menu besides the pho, but I am guess the pho is star of the show at a place that has pho in the name. There is def a plus in the pho plus. The bowl was huge! The bowl was bigger than my head. The broth was warm and flavorful, the meat was tender. I will enjoy my leftovers tomorrow. Our only complaint was that we added meatballs to one bowl for $3.50 and there was only one meatball. So, probably wouldn't do that again. Grabbed some takeout from here recently. I ordered maybe 10 minutes before I arrived and they already had my food packaged and waiting! Quick service. They have online ordering which made pick up super easy. We ordered 2 types of pho and I noticed it was a lot of broth and noodles for the price. Usually places fill up 1/2 or 3/4 of the tubs with broth but these were both full. The broth was flavorful and nice. Tons of noodles too. Others commented they wish there was more veg in the soup (basil, onion, cilantro, bean sprouts) and I do agree. At minimum more onion for my taste. However, the slices of thin rare beef were so thin and definitely a highlight for me, they melted in your mouth. We ordered the crab rangoons (yum!) And the egg rolls. The egg rolls were pretty small for the price but tasted good. This place is on my way home from work and I will definitely be back as it gets colder! read more

Service was bad! I had to get up to ask for something's, she never came back and check up on us. Once I was done eating I had to get her to get the check and a container to go. I payed and did not leave a tip on the receipt right away she said why I didn't give her a tip! Very rude. I ordered a spring roll and a combination pho and it was on point. The broth to the pho was exceptionally tasty and the noodles were perfect.
