First time ever having thai food and this was the place to go! Such nice staff, fast delivery and absolutely delicious food! The place is also so cute. Definitely will be back soon!
Totally wasn't expecting a stellar Thai smack dab in the middle of downtown Carmel, but what do you know, it exists! we did family style when we were here to get the most variety from the menu, and everything was absolutely wonderful! We started with the fried tofu and crab Rangoon, then got chicken pad, Thai medium spice, and veggie Panang curry, medium spice as well. Everything was solid and flavorful. I wish we would have had more room in our bellies to eat more since we couldn't finish it all! Service was excellent as well, really nice ladies working there.
This is the second time I have gone here. First- what a great location - literally on the Monon which is great as they do have a small outside patio. I had the drunken noodles and a Thai iced coffee. Both were excellent. If you have never tried the iced coffee, do yourself a favor and give it a try. It is made with sweetened condensed milk and is delicious. The inside of the restaurant is very nice and a bit upscale. Service was excellent. Others in my party had the basil fried rice and the pad Thai. They both really enjoyed their meals.
I met a friend for dinner, and we're both kinda high maintenance with our very specific dietary restrictions. In fact, we were going to share an app but couldn't settle on one that met both of our criteria--ha! Now that I mention it, I was here about a year ago with yet another friend who also has some drastic dietary restrictions. The reason it's worth noting is because the staff here readily accommodates our requests with no questions asked. The food comes out quickly, yet it's made fresh to order. For example, I was able to order the coconut soup without cilantro and the red curry with no onions. And even without those ingredients, the food was full of flavor. We've tried others but Pad Thai is our go-to.
This is my favorite Thai place in Indy! I have been going here for years and they are always amazing. The service is great and the waitress always knows our orders. Everything on the menu is delicious! I always get the spicy basil fried rice, but I highly recommend to try the basil fish. The decorations are so cute (see picture attached) and they always have nice music playing. The restaurant is kind of hidden in downtown Carmel, but it's right across Bub's. There's also a free parking garage under the restaurant. I love that the restaurant is in downtown Carmel, because you can talk a walk down the Monon or to Midtown to relax after eating. Definitely try this restaurant, it will be your new favorite Thai place!
Impressive ambiance and even better delicious menu. I haven't had such mouth watering Pad Thai in a while. We ordered a veggie Pad Thai (with eggs) and a chicken Pad Kee Mao (beautiful plating for this one). Both were belly-happy good with quite filling portions. Although I had to box 1/3 of the food, which made a great dinner. Can't wait to go back and try more of the menu. PS. It's located in the heart of downtown of Carmel with many street parking options and a public parking lot nearby.
Chicken Pad Thai 7.87/10 ~ good pad Thai but definitely have had better. I prefer one with lots of sauce and lots of green onions. For the convince & portion size it's pretty solid. - Basil Fried Rice 7.87/10 ~ pretty good basil rice - Crab Ragoons 8.5/10 ~ waiting for the day I have a bad crab ragoon. Bet I could get like 25 - Red Curry 7/10 ~ got it mild and it is destroying my mouth. Flavor is good, wish the veggies were cooked a little longer so they were soft. Can't imagine what medium or hot taste like. - Orange Chicken 2/10 ~ bad. Brought down overall restaurant rating immensely. It was the thickest batter then the chicken on the inside was like minced. So strange. Awful texture.
I'm a fan of Pad Thai -- the dish and now the restaurant. Ordered take out for dinner and it was ready in about 15 minutes. The lady taking our order was very friendly and helpful, even making jokes that had us laughing. We ordered crab rangoons for an appetizer and I got the chicken pad thai. The crab rangoons were heavenly. Honestly every time I have them, I forget how underrated they are, and these were up there with the best. The chicken pad thai was also delicious, and definitely enough for two meals (which is always a plus). They have 4 spice levels (mild, medium, hot, extra hot). I got the medium but still added a decent amount of sriracha to give it more of a kick, so I would increase the level of spiciness next time. Here's to hoping that Pad Thai sticks around downtown Carmel for many years to come.

Service was awesome and fast but we were not there during peak hours. Ambiance was nice but didn't have anything original about it. Overall great I loved the flavor!

Interior decor is very cute, table centerpieces, lights, and whole set up in the front. Convenient and central location. Good service, good variety offered on the menu. I loved how the rice came in a heart shape, but the rice itself wasn't that great. The curry was better, the meat was good. There was a leak in the ceiling but they did try to contain it. Probably won't visit again but wasn't bad for a one time visit.
The Food If memory serves, Pai Thai Restaurant is most likely the first Thai restaurant I tried in the midwest. A friend made a suggestion for this place and I was curious to try. We did family style and ordered several dishes for the table: - Chicken Satay - Pad See Ewe - Green Curry - Hawaiian Fried Rice - Deep Fried Tilapia We got Chicken Satay as an appetizer, it went well with the side of peanut sauce. The Pad See Ewe had good flavor, but the beef was a bit overcooked and tough to chew. Both the Green Curry and the Hawaiian Fried Rice were quite good. But the Deep Fried Tilapia was probably the main highlight of the meal. The skin had a good crisp to it, the meat was nicely cooked, topped with mango along with sweet and sour sauce. It was quite the fulfilling meal and didn't have room for dessert so maybe next time. The Miscellaneous The Pai Thai Restaurant is a bit tucked away in the side street so is easy to miss. They have a decent amount of seating, as well as outdoor seating, when the weather permits. The interior decor is interesting with a noticeable wall of bottles. The service was quite efficient, we didn't have to wait too long for the food after ordering. The staff was attentive, and ensured that drinks were full throughout the meal. Pad Thai Restaurant has quite the extensive menu to choose from. Aside from the standard Thai dishes, they also had a variety of entrees and chef specials. The prices are not unreasonable, though some dishes are on the higher end.

Still 5 stars. I dropped in about 20 mins before closing and they were no longer seating, but I was able to get carry out. Service is always accommodating. Tablescapes are always super decorative and I believe they change with the season. It's really giving summer with the sunflowers and bicycles. Very cute! read more

This has easily become one of my favorite places to eat. The service is great, the food is phenomenal. 10/10 every time I come here. I love the curry, I vary between red or green. I go medium for spice as I got hot one time and well IT WAS HOT! Still delicious and. I Love spicy food but it was almost too much for me. I still ate eveything but learned medium is the best for spicy and enjoyable. Spring rolls are great. They do get a bit busy but they're very quick to check on your table and make sure everything is good. read more

Great location right off the Monon trail, friendly staff and delicious food! We went for the lunch special which is a great deal and a lot of food! Highly recommend this place. Soup, salad, spring roll and a plate full of chicken, veggies and rice all for $10. Great spot! read more

I was in the area for ramen but when that failed I went with my next best choice, THAI! I got the spicy basil fried rice as one of my go tos. I got it medium hot (I think it's the 2nd or 3rd heat level and it was HOT! It has really good taste but I would maybe go down a notch next time. It was very fresh and huge portions! My meal was 11.99 for the dinner portion. They have good lunch specials also. The location itself was almost missed. It was evening and I didn't I didn't see a sign lit, but saw an hours sign lit so took a chance. It's across from bubs burgers. Small inside dining, cozy and well decorated. read more
After enjoying the Chinese moon cake festival we walked to paid Thai carmel on Main Street . They have adquete seating it rained that evening so everyone from outside was coming inside with long wait along with take out orders luckily our wait wasn't terrible with only two people taking orders of 10 tables or more . We enjoyed our spring rolls hot and crispy with sauce, tom yum soup loaded with veggies, our red curry and basil fried rice . The owner was apologetic for the wait . I would say due next careful look at bill as they tack on an automatic 20% gratitude tip without seeing how many at table. Though I don't mind tipping as we should all tip please don't take on automatic tip and expect another tip when we did not have 5 people overall we will be back and loved the food read more

I got takeout, an order of pad Thai, crab Rangoons and Tom kha soup. Best pad Thai I've had in Carmel. It was also a much larger serving than the other locations charging similar prices. Food was ready when I walked in. Staff was helpful and I was in and out quickly. read more
Since I last reviewed, I've eaten Pad Thai around Indy like it's no one's business. I've even attempted to make it myself. But at the end of the day, I'm always craving pad thai from Pad Thai Restaurant. The pleasant ambiance, quick service and dish's proportion of sauce-to-noodle consistency is just *magic.* I had no choice but to bump this review up to the highest notch! read more

Such high quality ingredients and fresh tasting Thai food. I often forget about this place as it's around the corner off Main St but is visible from the Monon pathway. Not busy at all and received attentive and prompt service. The fake candles and beautiful napkin folding made it feel fancy and fun for a weeknight dinner. The medium spice level was just right for me as someone who does not tolerate significant spiciness. My tom yum soup was super flavorful but my only critique is the size of veggies made it hard to eat. Crab rangoon was not overly fried like it at many other places and made for a nice crunchy bite. read more

I ordered take out from here last night (pad Thai and Tom yum), ate half of it, and got very sick with terrible stomach cramps. Thinking it may have been the pad Thai that made me sick, I reheated the leftovers of the Tom yum in the microwave today (mistake) and ate the rest, only to discover an object at the bottom of the container. I put this in my mouth!!! I'm beyond disgusted. It looks like some sort of broken off latch. You can see the screw. The worst part is, it's caked in filth. No doubt the reason I got sick last night. I wish I got a photo of it sitting at the bottom of the to-go container, but I'm my disgust I threw it in the sink. What the hell?! I want my money back!!! read more

Hello. Yes - tons of people do carry out. In fact, I would bet that most of their business is carry out. By the way, their fried rice is the best I've ever had.
