Lunch was awesome. The beef was marinated before cooking, so it was tender. Everything was tasty--from the spring rolls and salad to the main dish. It was a quick and very satisfying meal.
We were looking for a quick lunch prior to a nearby appointment and found Thai Indy. The restaurant is in an upscale trendy strip mall in Carmel. There was no available street parking, but there is a dedicated lot behind the mall. The dining room is small, and was half full of lunchtime patrons. Seating is comfortable and a large menu was on the table with Lunch Specials. Cloth napkins were set. June, our server, was attentive and friendly. The food came out super fast and was plated artistically. I ordered the Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles) with medium heat. A soup starter consisted of a light broth. The Pad Kee Mao was filled with fresh vegetables that were perfectly cooked and the medium spice gave the tinge of heat that I was looking for. The chicken was moist. The meal came with a small salad, which I love the refreshing dressing. The spring roll was a little over crisp, but good nonetheless. The meal was a lot of food and I took part home to finish later. My husband had the Pad Thai with chicken which he loved. The medium spice level is perfect. The noise level in the restaurant was somewhat annoying. We heard a long distracting work conversation across the room. There was background music, but it did not cover the conversation. Other than the acoustics, it was a great meal and I would return.
Wow! The food is AMAZING and the portions are huge. So happy my friend brought me here. Service was great and the atmosphere is beautiful and intimate. Music isn't too loud either
Ordered delivery from DoorDash today. Quick delivery, food was packaged well, but the food did not taste great. At all. The crab rangoon was so overly sweet we couldn't eat it, like the filling had powdered sugar dumped inside. The dipping "sauce" was just an orange oil, no clue what that was. I eat crab fried rice often from other restaurants but Thai Indy's was bland. I couldn't find any crab pieces, it was burnt, and the only flavor was overly smoky, like char. My husband's Kai sol dish was supposed to have chicken and shrimp - instead it had dry chicken and no shrimp. There are a lot of other great places locally to get actually great, flavorful food.
We found this little establishment and were thoroughly amazed! The Ginger hot tea was warming and comforting. We ordered spring rolls that had the perfect amount of filling. My nephew ordered Pumpkin Curry, sister got the Cashew Nut and my choice was Seafood Paradise. All dishes came out the ideal temperature and in a timely fashion. It was all superb! The environment was comfortable and the staff were very friendly. I would highly recommend this small place to anyone desiring authentic Thai food.
The ginger Tea, Springrolls (come nearly as fast as we ordered) are recommended. We like several dishes ... but recemtly got the Volcano Chicken and it knocked my socks off. Sweet Spicy sauce accompanied some lightly breaded juicy chicken 'tenderloins'. So good.
Thai ice coffee is amazing! Pretty sweet but so good! And it came with this very impressive flower made with straw covers - very cute! Ordered the drunken noodles with chicken which was really quite tasty. Lots of great wok hay flavor and a delicious variety of crunchy vegetables. I ordered mild spice which was really not spicy at all. And the dish was maybe a tad too salty but overall delicious! Also, the food came out SO fast which was good because we were all really hungry!!
What a cute little restaurant! Though small, it's very clean & welcoming. The people are very nice and helpful. I had to get the Thai iced tea. It was beautiful and very tasty! We ordered spring rolls and they were good-- Hot and crispy with a very nice mild sauce. Hubby & I both ordered the beef Thai fried rice. We ordered medium heat. Next time I might order even less heat because it was pretty spicy. A great place to go for a quick meal. We saw lots of takeout while we were in the restaurant.
Really cute venu, loved the Christmas decor they had inside. Got takeout from here and it was decent. Seemed pretty expensive, got a lot of spring rolls and not a lot of entree so I'd say it's even. Spring rolls were pretty big and filling, entree could have been a tv dinner and I wouldn't tell a difference. I appreciate they let you choose the spice level. Would go back and dine in and try something different.
Good authentic Thai food, really good Thai iced tea. They are willing to accommodate requests and are honest about the level of spice you are about to get yourself into. It's kind of a smallish place so it's possible you may end up with no place to sit inside but there is some outside seating and you could always get it to go if push came to shove.
Consider this place as a fast food spot versus a restaurant so your expectations are met. Food was great, hot and served so quickly and we were nudged to leave even quicker. We were hungry so we wolfed our food down but the server just kept nudging us to get out even though there were 4 tables vacant. It's a small space and customers need to keep moving but what if someone wants to just enjoy 15 minutes more with a small kid and it's super cold outside. While the food left a good taste in the mouth, service left such a bad taste.
This place does not disappoint! My second review after a little over a year. The staff is cordial and welcoming, the service is good and the food is legit. Pretty much everything on the menu is cooked with care and respect for the flavors. I will be returning soon!
This has to be my favourite Thai restaurant in town. The food is so so so delicious!! I have tried a lot of things on the menu, but the fried rice takes the prize. The place is decent and cozy, ambience is really nice. The service is usually good but they are sometimes in a rush at dinner time.

The ambience, authenticity, and service around the restaurant is something that itself is enough to go here for. If you want to go to a Thai restaurant, come here specifically. You'll leave satisfied. The food as well is amazing and fresh. The presentation of the food and drinks given feels more expensive than priced. You are treated equally to the hospitality of a kind one invited to their home and customs as a special guest. read more
Several of my friends and I placed orders for carry out for a get together. We all attempted to place our orders online but the site was glitching and none of us were able to complete our orders. We ended up calling to place our orders. There were a few parking spaces in front of the restaurant which was convenient. Our food was ready when we arrived 20 minutes later to pick up. The employee who gave us our food was very friendly and thanked us for coming in. We had all ordered different entrées so we could share. I liked the Eggplant Lover with tofu best. The crab Rangoons were very good. A few of my friends ordered the drunken noodles, they said they were ok but not as good as another Thai restaurant where we often dine. There are a few tables and it is nice inside but rather small. read more
We ordered pickup from Thai Indy while staying right down the street. We ordered around 8:25 and said food would be ready by 8:55 pm. Ample street parking out front so it was easy to run inside and pay for the meal. We did order online and it required us to sign up for an account with password, which was a bit of a pain since we don't live in the area. We ordered the crab Rangoon ($7.99), pad wun sen ($14.99) and kids chicken fried rice ($9.99). Food was ready when we picked up at 9 pm, I just needed to sign for the order. Everything was super hot and packed up well. The crab Rangoon was a bit different - packed full of cream cheese but didn't have a ton of flavor. The pad wun Sen was spicy and delicious, packed with veggies and chicken. My daughter loved the fried rice. It was a great meal after a long day - would definitely order it again. read more

My husband and I love Thai food and we carried out from Thai Indy one night and the food was amazing!!!! We live in Westfield so it was a 20 minute drive back but even when we got home the food was STEAMING HOT! It's a little small inside and we have a baby and there isn't room for a stroller but they were super busy with the carry out orders. We ordered pad Thai with tofu, drunken noodles and chili paradise with chicken. Everything had enough spice for us and we ordered the HOT. I highly recommend Thai Indy if you love Thai food! Their menu was even a little different then other Thai restaurants in town so we can't wait to go back and order something new! read more
We grabbed take out after a long night, and were happy we did. Called in the order, was able to pick it up in 20 min. Everything was packaged well. The Yellow curry was delicious, I liked the crunchy noodles and soft noodles in the Kao sao. My daughter liked her kids chicken. There were some tables for dine in, but not many. The place is set up mostly for to go. I felt bad for the people who were sitting right next to the door because they got blasted with a cold chill every few minutes. For lunch, their specials are 10.99, and if you take out you don't get the extra soup and salad. read more
I've dined at Thai Indy the past two weeks, and loved every minute of it it! Their dumplings are the best we've had since Imperial in Chicago closed down to the pandemic. Love their fresh ginger tea and the service is great! Can't wait to visit again! read more
This is the best Thai in the Carmel area!! IMHO. I stopped in on a Saturday just after they opened at 11 a.m. the dining room isn't huge but it's decorated so cute and it is very clean! We were greeted immediately and seated in a booth. We both got chicken pad Thai and had some specialty requests on our dishes. The server didn't write anything down as we ordered and our food came out exactly as we had ordered. I like my spice level at a medium and my boyfriend likes his very spicy. My food was great and my boyfriend said his was spicy hot, in a good way. This is a definite come back to restaurant! If you haven't been here before and you love Thai food then you must try this place out! read more

Our first time visiting Thai Indy was this past weekend and it was great! We were out front of the restaurant and were greeted by the owner who invited us in. She was especially sweet to our 3 year old boy. The food and drinks were tasty and the establishment was clean. We will definitely be back. read more
Decided to give this neighborhood restaurant a try and I am so glad I did. First off, don't let the exterior fool you. It's very non-descript from the outside but it's absolutely the cutest when you walk through the doors. There's a couple of booths and small number of tables, creating a warm and welcoming vibe. The decor is simple yet modern and the staff was courteous and attentive. I would definitely return again. I started with the crispy tofu and it was very unique. Not sure what they use in their breading but it was different (in a good way) from any fried tofu I've had before. For my entree I had the Pad Thai chicken and it was done just right. I got it Medium spicy (2 of 5) and it was just enough of a kick to not warrant the chili sauce tray. Portions were good, as were prices. There's plenty of street parking or in the parking lot behind the restaurant. Do yourself a favor and dine in or order takeout from Thai Indy. read more

Such a great meal with quick service. Husband and I came here for a date night and thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. The panang curry with chicken was some of the best we had in a while and a really good pad Thai with beef. Do not skip out on ordering the Thai iced tea either - such a treat. Not a ton of space inside, but a super cozy spot overall. Cannot wait to go back or order out soon. read more
First visit to Thai Indy on Old Meridian (across from Meijer). They have a lunch special for $10.99. You get a cup of soup, a small salad, one spring roll and your selection of a choice of entrees, (including choice of meat (chicken, beef, pork, vegetable or shrimp). The entree selections include Pad Thai, Cashew Nut, Sweet and Sour, Red Curry, Green Curry, Yellow Curry, Thai Basil, Thai Fried Rice, Vegetable Deluxe and others. You can specify your spice level: mild, medium or hot. I ordered the Thai Basil with chicken and medium spice. It contained chicken stir fried in a basil sauce with green beans, onions, bell peppers, and basil. It was served with a side of white rice. It was very good, just the right spice level and filling. The menu said the lunch special comes with a small side salad. They aren't kidding!! See the picture. I ate the salad in two bites. It was just iceberg lettuce but the dressing was good. The restaurant is small. They had it set up with 7 two top tables, 1 four top table and 2 four top booths. When I arrived there were 3 groups of 2, each sitting at a 2 top table. Both booths were empty. I requested a booth and they were VERY loath to give it to me. I was a bit surprised since the 2 top tables appear to have bases easy to move together to form a 4 top. And the tables are extremely close together. But to their credit they did get very busy. By the time I left, there was only 1 two top table open. The other booth and 4 top table both had a party of 3. Like most establishments on Old Meridian, you have to parallel park in front. However, there is a parking lot behind the buildings. But unlike most of the other establishments, you can NOT use their back door parking lot entrance. It is for "Staff Only". You have to walk around the building to Old Meridian. Not a big deal but it was pouring rain. My luck. Would I return? Yes. Do I wish it was easier to enter the restaurant? Yes. Do I wish the restaurant was larger? Yes. As mentioned, they were almost full to capacity and had a lot of To Go orders on a table. This is a good problem for a restaurant owner to have and speaks well of the food they serve. read more
This is my new go-to place for Thai, it's great food, awesome service, and the ambiance is so cute! This place is located right across the street from the Meijer in Carmel off Old Meridian Street. There is street parking as well as parking around the back. This place is decorated so well and trendy, their Autumn Decor was so cute as well. The service was quick and our waiter was able to offer awesome suggestions. We started with the Sweet Thai Calamari -- this was AMAZING. The sauce was light and tangy and the calamari was good! I opted for the Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles) with the medium spice level and it was PERFECT! The noodles were yummy, the veggies were tasty and I added chicken to it as well. They did NOT skimp on the chicken, WAHOO! My friend got the Orange Chicken and would not stop raving about it. This place is awesome and you MUST check it out! read more

Let me first begin with I don't give 5* reviews much, but this place was fantastic from beginning to end. First, the service was very good. Yes it wasn't busy, but the girls working the front were great and super friendly. The restaurant was clean and decorated perfectly. As for the food, all of it was amazing. We started with Thai rolls which were great, but they put a little toasted garlic on them and it brings it to the next level. Next we had a bowl of Thai soup, it was hot with a perfect mixture of noodles, chicken and broth. I usually compare Thai places by their pad Thai and I have to say this was one of the best ones I've had. Everything in it was fresh and perfectly cooked and spiced. Great job!!! Can't wait to go back read more

I was in the mood for Chinese one night, so I decided to order from Thai Indy through Uber Eats. I ordered the Pad Thai with chicken and vegetable spring rolls. The spring rolls were flaky and light and went terrific with the dipping sauce. The Pad Thai with chicken was excellent and had a wonderful texture. I have not been to the actual location in Indy, but I imagine it is a wonderful place with unique decor and ambiance. Thai Indy is one of the better Chinese places I have tried in Indianapolis. The food is fresh and prepared with love and care for the customer. I would recommend Thai Indy to anyone who is looking for a great Chinese Asian restaurant in Indy. It is very fresh and prepared with the highest quality standards. That is what I look for in a Chinese restaurant. read more
