My friend and I happened onto Manee yesterday for lunch. Firstly, it was so clean and lovely decor presenting a calm atmosphere for lunch. Then, we were pleasantly, surprised with the offerings for lunch. There were almost 20 dishes offered for only $11.59. This lunch came with either soup or salad! Finally, our lunches were served and absolutely delicious. I had a chicken with veggies that was served perfectly cooked. I asked for nuts to be added for more protein and they accommodated my requests. I will go back again--- soon! read more

I was served food that contained pieces of plastic. When I brought this serious issue to the server's attention, instead of apologizing or addressing the problem, he was extremely rude and told me to "f*** off" and leave the store. He even said, "What do you want to do? You can go sue us." This behavior is completely unacceptable. Customers should never have to worry about foreign objects in their food, and they certainly should not be treated with disrespect when raising a valid concern. This was a terrible experience with extremely poor service. I will not be returning and would not recommend this place to others. read more

Manee Thai is next to Athens on 86th. A Thai restaurant on the west side of 86th street, in a strip mall where Fresh Thyme is. There are multiple Thai options on the north side, particularly on 86th. How to pick one? We just decided to try this one in person since my parents were visiting from out of town and don't have Thai cuisine options in our hometown. I will break this down. The service is short-staffed. The front of the house person is also doing the serving and taking orders. Depending on when you come, you either may be waiting for a while or by luck catch the person when they're at the front of the house. I feel bad. Taking phone calls, taking orders in person, brining the dishes out from the kitchen- all in one person. The food- as a vegetarian, Thai cuisine is plentiful and flavorful. Take care to order the foods without fish sauce. My pad Thai was great, and we also really enjoyed the bamboo shoots. The food was presentable and 9/10 for the taste and lingering flavor. Spiced but not overdone. Ambiance- dark decor with plenty of lighting. There are booths and tables available. There are usually 3-4 tables full at any given time. Which is good, because any more would be probably stress the short staff. Overall 4.4/5.0. I came here with a large group of 16, and it was a very nice experience. The service was excellent! Very friendly and our water glasses were kept refilled. Several of us ordered Drunken Noodles. Mine were with tofu, and a few of the others ordered chicken. We all agreed they were some of the best we have had, anywhere. Spring rolls were excellent too. The menu has changed and the place looks different after renovations. We started with calamari and chicken wings. The calamari has too much flour on it for my taste, but the wings were good and enjoyable. The roasted duck curry was very tasty and well flavored. but there wasn't much duck meat in the plate and for the price, serving was small. The orange chicken was on the salty side and but the serving size was good The one that stood out for us and saved our day was the crab fried rice, as it was really, really good, and had a very good after taste. We asked to not have onions on the rice but that wasn't honored. The experience has been a let down for us. Will try again down the road if they make some some changes in terms of the food quality and serving size. As for the change on interior appearance, the place looks better than before. read more

I've been coming to this shopping center for years and didn't know about this beautiful Thai restaurant tucked in the corner of the strip mall. The dining room is upscale, lovely, even romantic. Gentle jazz music played in the background. Tables are comfortable. We were there for lunch. Jaya, our server, was acting as host and server for all the tables. He was quiet, focused and diligent. The drinks and food came out quickly. Water glasses were kept full. They offer a lunch menu of traditional favorites which includes spring roll and choice of salad or soup. The soup is a light Thai broth based soup which is delicious. The spring rolls are small, fresh and crunchy served with a ginger sauce. I had the Pad Kee Mao with shrimp (Drunken Noodles) which was beautifully plated with artistically cut vegetables. The plate was filled with fresh carrots, green beans and more covered in a brown sauce that they prepare in house. I requested medium spice level and it was very spicy, which I liked. There were five shrimp cooked perfectly. I loved this dish but would request mild spice next visit. My husband had the Pad Thai with chicken, which was also delicious. I had a glass of the Thai Sweet Tea which was creamy and, of course, sweet. I'll be back and recommend. The food is delicious and dining room lovely. read more

I can't stop getting the basil fried rice!! All the food is here is wonderful but the fried rice is my #1. The food comes out hot and fast every single time. I only had one issue with my food ever (in 3 years) and they were quick to remedy the issue and they were so kind about everything. I was in the mood for Chinese food and wanted to try something new, so I found Manee Thai Cusine IN on Uber Eats. I ordered the Pad Thai main entree and they had a buy one get one free special on spring rolls. The spring rolls were fresh, light, and very crisp. The Pad Thai dish was prepared with care and tasted amazing!! The texture of the noodles was just perfect, and not rubbery. I have become a connoisseur of Pad Thai lately, and this Pad Thai was excellent and amazing! I have not been to the location yet, but very interested to go visit the location on W 86th St. I can imagine the ambiance and the customer service would be just as high quality as the food itself. This is an awesome place located right by Planet Fitness and Fresh Thyme off of 86th Street -- MUST TRY! My friend Aron and I went here for my birthday and it was amazing! The place is quiet, and clean, and has some awesome staff! They also have their wine and beer liquor license! I started with some Jasmine tea which came in an awesome tea pot and was very good! We then got Crab Rangoons and Gyoza -- both of which were AMAZING! I don't think I have ever had such amazing gyoza, full of flavor and came with an awesome sauce! We both shared the Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles) at the suggestion of the owner and the Orange Chicken. The Drunken Noodles were PHENOMENAL!!! Like absolutely amazing!!! Thai Dumplings- just melt in your mouth and have the best flavor with the pork and shrimp and then the spicy calamari- good flavor and perfectly tempura'd!! We ordered different entrees. Tried Manee Thai after discovering our 1st choice was closed. It's on the corner of a strip mall so look for it down from Fresh Market. It is a cute very clean spot. It was slow for a Saturday evening but there was a steady stream of people coming in for carry out. I figure that's a good sign. I was impressed with all the options on the menu. We tried the Crab Rangoons which were excellent. Fried but not too heavy. The Thai Tea is a great option just remember it's sweet. Easily my favorite Thai in Indy due to finally finding THE DISH. The Khao Soi is excellent. If you enjoy curry but also enjoy noodles over rice then this is the dish for you. Careful with your spice level as anything over a mild/medium will have you sweating. I love the coconut base as well as the chicken and vegetables in the curry. This little Thai joint is located in a strip mall off of 86th and Naab Road. As with most of the Thai restaurants I try for the first time, I ordered the chicken pad thai. The lunch special comes with rangoon or egg roll if takeout, and an additional soup/salad if dine-in. I ordered takeout and it was ready in under 10 minutes! My pad thai was tasty, but slightly a bit over-saturated with sauce. They offer a spice level between 1-4, and I went with a 3 which was just on the borderline of being too hot for me -- next time I will go with a 2. All in all, this place was pretty good and I will definitely try some other entrees on the menu during my next visit. The lunch meal was filling and cost just under $10. I'm a fan! read more

What a fantastic place to have lunch at. This was my first time checking out the restaurant, and I plan to return. I was a part of a party of five. We had appetizers (spring rolls, fried soft shell crab and crab Rangoon) we enjoyed drinks (Thai iced coffee, Moscato, plum wine, Singha beer, and Tsingtao beer) we ordered ( drunken chicken, drunken pork, drunken shrimp, Thai fried rice, pad Thai chicken and chicken pud see you) The service was excellent, considering it was during a lunchtime rush. I had the drunken shrimp and LOVED every morsel, including the occasional fresh taste of Thai basil. My Tsingtao beer was cold and refreshing down to the last drop. We each had plenty of food with our main entrees that included miso soup. Afterwards we all enjoyed playing The White Elephant gifted exchange game, and no other patron was distracted or disturbed by our holiday gift game. Just a quick update as I can now speak to the dine in experience here! Please also see my previous review. One thing to be very aware of is that a whole section of the online menu is missing from the dine in menus. I noticed a few favorites were missing, but didn't catch that it was a whole section of the menu, Manee Special, until I got home and looked up the online menu. I'm assuming they would serve items from the whole online/takeout menu for dine in, if someone asks, but am not positive on this. Anyway, I went with a classic, drunken noodles with chicken and it was very good as always. As with many places, they seem to be short staffed, so don't expect anything beyond orders being taken and food brought out. Thai is my Sunday craving every week. I absolutely will judge a Thai restaurant on their crab rangoons as the decision point if I will order again or not. I am serious about crab rangoons y'all. Tried this new place via Uber eats and will definitely be back. They pasted the rangoon test. Crispy on the outside. Enough filling. Not super sweet. Not super oily. Also would recommend the drunken noodles. I am a bigger pad thai fan and the drunken noodles blew the pad thai out of the water on this one. Get it 3 spicy! Tom kha soup slapped. I had Manee last week for the first time and have been craving it ever since so I order more today and it was still so good. I wasn't a big Thai fan, but thought I'd give it another try, and hands down the Tom Yum soup is the best soup I've ever eaten. I got the Manee Sampler both times and it is phenomenal too. Tom Yum soup with spice of 3 is perfect to me, but definitely go down if you don't like spice. (I like to add rice to mine, makes it even better). Drunken Noodles - so so good. I got a spice level 3 on them but would definitely go down to a 2 next time because it was almost too hot for me. But I still kept eating it. I ordered orange chicken last time. It wasn't my cup of tea but my son loved it. It was very savory and needed more flavor in my opinion. But like I said my oldest son who isn't big on sweet flavors loved it. I was really looking forward to trying this place. When I looked up the menu online, they all looked very tantalizing. I walked in and was very impressed with the decor...the gold accents, mood lighting, wood, etc. There weren't many people in the restaurant, which was surprising since all the surrounding restaurants were packed. After my experience there, I definitely understand why. Once I entered, I waited quite a while to be acknowledged. Two people came in after me and despite standing right in front of the greeter, he chose to take care of their needs first. This is an immediate turn-off. Since I was meeting a friend for dinner, it was too late to change plans. Once I was finally acknowledged, the greeter/server waived his hand flippantly and told me to sit anywhere without making eye contact or anything. I sat near the door to see if anyone else was treated this way. I noticed that people who had a similar "appearance" as myself were not treated with the same level of customer service as those with a different "appearance." This was very disappointing. If you are going to open a restaurant in a diverse area, you need to give EVERYONE the same level of service. The food was decent, but the customer service made the overall experience very disappointing. I won't be recommending this place to my family, friends, or clients. It's 2023...practically 2024. I was in search of some Thai food in the Nora area and decided to give Manee a try based on the Yelp reviews. This will be my new spot!!! As noted in several reviews, the service was very friendly. I tried the Orange chicken and its not overly sweet. I asked for zero spice and it had no hint of any heat. I also liked that it didn't have that greasy after taste. Also tried the Red Curry with veggies and loved the flavor. There was a nice variety of veggies and they weren't limp. I went with mild hotness and it had just the right amount of heat for a palate like mine that doesn't like to be in pain. Looking forward to my next visit and trying the spring rolls. read more

I ordered the Pad See You and the noodles were so thick and chewy like I like them - great spice too! The entree came with soup and salad, which I did not expect so I was thrilled! The soup was yummy and garlicky and the salad dressing made the entire dish! I decided to treat myself to dessert so I got the sticky rice with mango because I've always wandered what it taste like when I'm at other restaurants. We've been waiting months for Manee to reopen. It finally did! Are these the same owners? We used to see the same 3 people (family) every time we went. We didn't recognize any of the people in the front of the house and the back of the house is now hidden. The inside has been totally remodeled. It is nice I suppose. All the plates and silverware (now gold ware) are new as well. I am very sorry to report that my wife and I were both disappointed. The food was ok, and we're not used to ok food being served here (it was consistently awesome previously). The portions certainly seemed smaller and the gold lined plates and gold dinner ware seemed tacky. Crushed to say we are on the hunt for a new Thai place. Doubtful that we will return. read more
