3. Crab Ragoon
Christian C.

What I've learned is that Thai food just might be at the top of the list for me as far as favorites are concerned. Decided to try somewhere new today because I couldn't zero in on what I had a taste for and I'm happy to have stumbled upon Thai Thai. A few things that warrant the 4 stars as opposed to 5 stars: the length of time it took to be greeted & the very nonchalant attitude that server had- I had a hard time deciphering between if today just had not been a great day for her or if she was genuinely not a people person. Either way, I still tipped because she did loosen up a little near the end of our visit and because that's a common courtesy for what wait staff is paid hourly in Indiana. Now back to the food!!!!!!!!10's across the board. What we ordered: Appetizer: Crab Rangoon & Steamed dumplings Drinks: Sweet Thai Iced Green tea (soooo yummy but in my opinion didn't pair well with the food we ordered) it was more like a sweet treat but DELICIOUS! Entree's: Yellow Curry & Pad Kee Mao aka drunken noodles. So happy I didn't stick to my go-to "pad thai" this dish was delectable. My daughters yellow curry was as well. Full of flavor both sweet and spicy!

Wasn't my first choice but it was easier for me to get to. Upon arrival, there were no guests in the dining room. Lunch options come with soup and a spring roll. They do not offer a dipping sauce for the spring roll. I ordered a shrimp with veggies. It was 3 pieces of shrimp. The portion amount was not very much. The flavor was just not there. I tasted fish sauce and oyster sauce. I asked for mild. There was no spice. Then I'm fighting with a fly trying to eat my food with me. Leaving this here so I remember not to revisit.

Orange chicken, crunchy and the vegetables are a nice touch

So glad we stopped in to try this nearby Thai place. It is snuggled in a strip mall filled with yummy dinner spots so it may be early looked over. It's absolutely beautiful inside, elegant yet cozy with a warm greeting from the staff. The menu is very typical of Thai places, we all got our normal items and enjoyed them. I had the Pad Thai with chicken at medium heat; it was spicy but not overkill. My husband, who likes Thai hot, was a little disappointed in his heat level on the Cashew nut Chicken, but he said he would just ask for extra hot next time. Food came out fast on a Saturday night, and everything was fresh. We loved their veggies because they were crunchy and cooked. We saw signs for great lunch specials so we will be coming by for lunch when we can and trying different options.

Sweet Thai Iced Coffee

This was my first visit to Thai Thai Cuisine on West 86th Street. Parking was easy with the numerous spaces in the strip center. The lunch special has 19 entrees to select from at $10.99. Meat options include chicken, beef, pork, tofu and veggie. Shrimp is $2.00 extra. Lunch specials include an entree, a large bowl of soup, salad and one egg roll. I ordered my favorite, Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Chicken Noodles) at a medium heat level and was not disappointed. My beverage, Sweet Thai Iced Coffee was excellent and had a small, cute paper rose in the tip of the straw. Beverages served include Coke products, hot or iced teas along with Sweet Thai Tea, Sweet Thai Coffee, or Coconut juice. I received excellent service and had a very pleasant lunch. The atmosphere is laid back, quite with a nice decor. I'm already making plans to return this Thursday.

Located in a small shopping center, the strategically vibrant decor perfectly matches the variety of Thai cuisine that can be tried. The paper rose on my Thai Tea was a beautiful touch and quite the highlight of soon-to-be great meal. The spring rolls were crunchy and perfectly balanced with the sweet sauce, while the Pad Wun Sen was definitely spicy (only attempted medium). Lastly, the sticky rice with mango was a nice treat & worth the try (especially to share with another person). Will definitely be back for the lunch speci

I've never ordered grilled chicken at a Thai restaurant before. I am so glad I did. The flavors work so well together. Hubby got the cashew chicken and was not disappointed. Very friendly server. Would've given 5 stars but I really would have liked a glass of wine with dinner but it wasn't available.

I ordered online so I can't speak of their service. However, the food is authentic Thai cuisine. They provided large portions. I had enough to make two meal. I added notes for extra for extra condiments. Had no issues with my order. Definitely ordering again.

Orange Chicken

Had a wonderful time here over the weekend. For it being a Saturday I was expecting it to be busier; because our food was fantastic and service was excellent. Pictured are the orange chicken and pad Thai entrees along with spring rolls as an appetizer (I highly recommend the spring rolls to start!) everything came to the table hot and fresh. I've been here a few times prior to writing this review and I can vouch for how consistent the food and service is here. Portion sizes are generous, I always find myself taking a box home to have for lunch the next day. The interior dining room has a nice, cozy feel and decorated with modern Thai motifs and makes for a lovely, relaxing dining experience.

This place is a true gem! Stumbled inside after being in the area and following the glorious smell to this place! Everything about this place is amazing...from decor and ambiance, the food, and the customer service! We ordered the shrimp fried rice, lobster fried rice, vegetable spring rolls, and crab rangoons! The sweet and sour sauce that comes with the spring rolls and rangoons is freaking delicious! The fried rice was was packed with veggies, seafood, and flavor! We ordered inside and were pleased that our wait wasn't too long and the food was so fresh! Definitely adding this place to our list of favorites! Excited to go back and try more dishes soon!

Okay minor oversight on my part I was so hungry I ate my lunch without taking pictures... so I will try to be as descriptive as I can. This bistro is located in a strip center along W 86th St in the former Sawasdee location. They layout is the same, but it has a new modern sleek look. I happened to be with my normal Sawasdee dining companion and we decided to give the new restaurant a try. We came in at lunch time and were promptly greeted and advised to sit where ever we wanted. There were a few diners but spread out so we felt safe with spacing. The lunch menu had a $9.99 lunch special with many entry options. My friend chose the Chicken Pad Thai and I went with the Chicken Pad Kra Pow. We both went with medium heat. Rather quickly we were brought out a small bowl of soup and a small salad. The soup was a translucent broth with a few peas a cubed carrots. It had a great flavor and reminded me in taste of the Thom Yum soup I have had before. The salad was an iceberg lettuce mix with a slightly creamy ginger dressing. Out entrees came out a little bit later freshly prepared and hot. Presentation was nice and the taste was pretty darn good. the veggies were perfectly prepared, as were the rice and noodles. Each entry also came with a fried spring roll. It was good, and the portions were large enough you could take some home for later or share if your not famished. I was quite happy with my entrée, my friend liked hers also but noted it was sweeter than the same dish that Sawasdee prepared (which was her favorite). The space looks great and sleek, the food is great! I am looking forward to going back and trying out other dishes. Go give them a try!

The restaurant features an extensive drink menu that will suite anyone's pallet. We chose to start with the bread service which was killer especially the honey butter. All of the apps look d amazing but went for the dry rub duck wings with home made ranch. My only critic was I wish there were more than 3. Finished off with the shrimp and grits. Although, I wasn't in New Orleans the spiciness took me back there. The wait staff was great. Even though we were late for the reservation we were seated promptly and had multiple people taking care of us. Intimate. The lighting? Soft. The whole space feels like a quiet luxury moment tucked right into the city. Now let's talk about what REALLY matters, the food. The shrimp & grits??? Listen... this wasn't just a dish, this was an EXPERIENCE. The grits were creamy, smooth, and perfectly rich, but that sauce layered on top?? Whew. Flavor on flavor on flavor. You've got that deep, savory, slightly smoky profile with juicy shrimp, sausage, and those pickled onions cutting through everything with the perfect tang. Every bite felt intentional. Like somebody knew what they were doing in that kitchen. And can we talk about how beautiful it was plated?? Because yes, I absolutely appreciated the aesthetics before I even picked up my fork. Paired it with a simple coffee moment, sitting by the window, and honestly... it felt like a reset. Not rushed, not loud, just good food, good atmosphere, and a chance to actually enjoy it. If you're looking for a brunch spot that feels a little more elevated, a little more intentional, and delivers on both flavor and experience. This is it. 10/10. I'll absolutely be back!!!

The restaurant has a very cute aesthetic and plenty of seating whether you wanna sit at a table or at the bar. It was a little bit of a busier time when we came for lunch, but it didn't take our group too long to be seated. They have plenty of options if you have a taste for sushi or if you want a regular protein based entrée with rice I also appreciate that there were a lot of veggie options for non-meat eaters. I had a dish with broccoli and shrimp and it had great flavor and the portion size was perfect. It also came with a small side salad or soup before your entree came out.

It looks appealing on the…read moreoutside and, walking in, also has nice booths, some tables, and a unique, beautiful, large bar/sushi counter. The restaurant presents like a higher-end sushi house, but this is a little mismatched with the slightly loud 80s pop tunes streaming from the speakers. It seems like instrumental soft Japanese stings would be more appropriate. Also a little mismatched in the ambiance is a giant TV screen on the back wall (near out table), and large TVs over the bar area. They just don't "look right" with the tables and interior décor. The menu seems on par in price and offerings for similar-style sushi houses. We split edaname($6), I got the sushi dinner ($23) and hubs got the special lobster & seafood clay pot ($36). I drank water and he had 1 diet coke, so everything with tax + 20% tip came to $90. The food is presented beautifully, and tasted good. Both dinners had choice of soup or salad, and we each got ginger salad. We're lovers of ginger dressing. This one was ok - tasted good but could have used more, as I has lots of un-dressed lettuce in the bowl. My sushi dinner was fine but nothing extraordinary. For the "special" lobster & seafood clay pot, presentation was again beautiful, aroma and taste were good, nice sauce, but it was a little underwhelming in both seafood contents and amount. That being said, we had a small amount of leftovers from the hub's dish (some rice, sauce and veggies), and they present very nice takeout bags with a thermal lining. We actually ended up giving the container of food to a homeless man downtown, so I did not eat the leftovers, and, admittedly, it was not enough for a full lunch. So overall, while the food was very pretty and also tasty, we have a lot of other sushi options that give more bang to the buck for our quantity and atmosphere preferences. #yum #ReviewsByRL

The drinks, the ramen, the dessert...we love it all, and we love spending our money at a local business. For years now, the kitchen has substituted rice for ramen for me because I have gluten intolerance. I have always asked respectfully, explained why, and said thank you, every single time. Tonight my husband and I walked down to Strangebird for dinner, ordered drinks and dinner, and I had *just* said to my husband that Strangebird has come to feel like a second home. Then the server came out and told us that the chef has decided they will no longer permit any modifications, including those that meet dietary needs. We were out on the quiet patio surrounded by other customers, so on top of being totally blindsided, it was actually pretty embarrassing, too. Folks, let me tell you how much I wish I could just eat the ramen noodles like everybody else. So much food that I love (and in some cases spent years learning to make myself) went out the window forever when my body stopped being able to handle wheat. But at Strangebird, I could still go in and enjoy the depth of flavor in every other component of a bowl of ramen. And that meant the absolute world to me. I'm heartbroken.
