King Wok is a small family-run Asian restaurant in a growing area of international markets. The dining room has about 14 tables with a simple decor. The menu offers a blend of Chinese stir fries, Vietnamese phos and other noodle dishes. Our server was super gracious and friendly. I ordered Szechuan Shrimp with a small hot and sour soup. The hot and sour soup was fresh and hot. Compared to others, the spice level is on the mild side. The soup was rich and filling. The Szechuan Shrimp was packed with large shrimp and lots of fresh broccoli and other vegetables. The portion was generous and deliciously filling. My husband had the Hunan with chicken. The generous portion of chicken was tender and the veggies fresh. During the week they offer a handful of lunch option specials at a great price. There is plenty of parking in the strip mall lot. We ordered dinner to go so can't say how the ambience is. But the lady who answered the phone was very kind. Originally we wanted a bahn mi for our child because we thought we saw it on their menu, but she said they didn't have any. Oh well. What we got: Bun bi cha gio - Love a noodle salad! The sauce was flavorful and considerately put on the side so you mix in as much or as little as you like. There wasn't much pork in it, but it tasted great. The egg roll that comes with it is cut up and has a great crispy texture. I really liked all the chopped peanuts in it too. Wish there was more pickled carrots and daikon and mint and cilantro in it though. But otherwise, a solid bun. Pho tai nam - The broth for this is so aromatic and flavorful without being overpowering. Really nice clean broth that both kids liked. We also tried to order a Vietnamese coffee, but they didn't have any...maybe they just don't make any at dinner? Or maybe they just ran out. King Wok might be one of our top three favorite places to get a meal. The food is prepared very well indeed and there is a lot of variety. Look for your favorite ingredients and don't hesitate to try different dishes. The staff is very agreeable if one wants to change something, or substitute (like egg noodles in a big bowl of Pho instead of rice noodles; both are v good). We've never experienced any food there that is anything but very fresh, tasty, nicely presented. A lot of food for the buck too -- good value. The service is quite good, even at lunchtime when the place is booming with business at the tables as well as takeout. We also appreciate that the foods (well, what we order, and there's a lot of items we've tried for years) is NOT over-salted, nor is there a lot of over-Americanized food. I'm shocked that I have not commented on how tasty this place is. I've been getting pho from here for years and it was my 1st favorite pho spot in Indy. I still think their broth holds up to all of the new competition. They serve both Vietnamese and Chinese American dishes. Everything that I've gotten has been delicious. There is a indoor eating area which is small but the staff is efficient so dining in or takeout are great options. This evening I walked in 20min before close and walked out 10min later with tasty food to share with my family. I got tofu appetizers #6, crab Rangoon, Szechuan shrimp, and pho tai. All were good. I have been coming here for YEARS. Still disappointed they no longer offer Banh Boc Loc. It's not exactly an easy thing to make and must be made much in advance and that I guess I'll have to accept as they were the only Vietnamese restaurant that served this doughy south Vietnamese dish. After a beautiful evening enjoying Winterlights at Newfields, we found King Wok thanks to Yelp. Such a great find! Everything we ordered was delicious. Some standouts include the vegetarian pho, fried rice and Vietnamese coffee. The pho was full of flavor with lots of fresh veggies. So yummy! The fried rice was light and not greasy at all. The coffee was the perfect blend of sweet and strong. Service was a little slow, but they were quite busy and obviously making everything fresh. I will return here for sure! read more

I've been wanting to try this place for a while. I'm a big fan of Negimaki (which is #14 on their menu); however, they were out. This was kind of a bummer but allowed me to expand past what i already know. We ordered some tried and true appetizer favorites; crab rangoon, shrimp tempura, wonton soup. All of which were delicious, served piping hot, and excellent dipping sauces. We then added some new things for us; soft shell crab appetizer, Vietnamese summer rolls with marinated pork and beef, Vietnamese summer rolls with summer rolls with shrimp and pork. I loved both summer rolls and the sauce was exceptional. The soft shell crab had more of a fish taste than I care for and I would skip that in the future. For entrees we ordered, 79. stir fry noodles with shrimp, beef, chicken and veggies. Oh my oh my, this one was elite. The noodles were cooked to perfection and that sauce was stellar. I truly cannot wait to eat this again. Also gave 55 sweet and sour chicken a try. I would skip this in the future, it was too much breading and not enough sauce or veggies The parking is easy, located in a strip mall, service was good, the place was packed and our food came out hot and fast. The bathroom was well supplied and clean. I will be back here again and again, I'm really looking forward to trying new things. read more

What a fantastic joint! We decided to come in after realizing that India Sizzling II was closed and honestly have found a new pho place! We ordered two apps and two bowls of pho. The agadashi tofu was STELLAR. I have never had a fried tofu so perfect, so crisp on the outside and yet so creamy and soft on the inside. The pho broth was absolutely incredible, the depth of flavor was outstanding for it being so light in color. We ordered the 100 and 102, both of which were incredible. One thing I appreciate is amazing service and while this is a small family owned business, they always make sure that they treat their customers with the upmost respect! When you first walk in, they have two sides that you can sit on and you can help yourself to seating. If they are very busy, then they will greet you at the door and seat you where they feel is best. They just started doing this because Of Covid. The servers are also the cashiers, but they make sure they are patient, they explain the menus well if you need help, and they always give advice! I always get a lady, she wears a pony tail most times. She is always nice and have the most calm spirit! There was one time I got a young guy who served us! Oh his service was next level! He explained all of their soups thoroughly and even gave us a sample of their most popular soup on the house! I can go on and on, but we must talk about this here food! I ordered the Pho Ga and dumplings pan seared. The Pho Ga soup is a chicken based broth with chicken, jasmine noodles and onions. The broth is so good, you can see the fat bubbles in the soup from the chicken broth and mannn... what an indicator that the broth has been cooking and marinating in the chicken to perfection. They also bring you a side of bean sprouts, basil leaf, lime, and fresh jalapeño. You gotta add at least the sprouts and basil to make the soup good! I love the sprouts because ift add texture to the soup and the basil adds a fresh taste to the soup as well! I never really can taste the lime but I squeeze it on there anyway! I don't fool too much with fresh jalapeños lol. On their tables are two sauces, hoisin and Sriracha sauce! I also add a little bit of both to my soup! Well maybe a lot because it takes the soup to the next level! Hoisin is a sweet brown sauce and the sriracha sauce is of course red. Now my dumplings, man man man! I'm sorry yall, I went straight to town on them and totally forgot to take a pic! I have to do better but Those bad boys are finger lickin good! They were so fresh and hot, one side was pan seared which added a little crisp to the dumplings! They serve them with a special sauce which I do like and I feel it compliments them well. It reminds me of a soy sauce. The sodium is very high in the sauce so my secret to you is add hoisin sauce in and stir it up really good! Viola!! Everything is served to perfection! Lol! There's nothing like mom's cooking, so certainly take this review with that caveat. I've always thought people who reviewed their heritage's own cooking were more critical when dining out for that food, so perhaps I am too harsh on King Wok. However it's hard when there is better Vietnamese food in town, even just down the road. It had been a while since I had been home to have Vietnamese food, so the craving was at the right time for me. I had Hu Tieu Mi Dac Biet, ideally a rice and egg noodle combo soup with pork and seafood. I had asked no chives, but somehow that was misconstrued to be no vegetables at all, including scallions or bean sprouts. Regardless, the broth was relatively uninspiring and tasted like a generic canned broth. Just overall watery and lacking any unctuousness. The hodgepodge of meats was interesting as well, including large pieces of imitation crab meat and assorted pieces of fish cake (cha ca) that were also lacking in flavor. My family always gets Asian food when they visit me, and King Wok used to be a part of our rotation. It had been years since I've been, but unfortunately, this most recent experience reminded me of why I haven't been back in so long. read more

I got the pho tai which is well done beef. Once I got home, I assembled everything together in a big bowl and went to town. My search for some quality pho brought me to King Wok or Co Do on Google. The place was fairly large inside with tables that seemed spaced out appropriately. I ordered the Pho with Meatballs and Rare Beef. The pho was pretty good. The broth tasted very beefy, like the bones had been simmering for a while. I ordered the Mi Xao Thap Cam without shrimp. My food was very filling. The dish had a decent serving size. I was a bit disappointed that my food wasn't more flavorful. Also, the meat seemed pretty cheap quality. I had to add some Sriracha to give my food a little kick. The food came out fairly quickly and the service was pretty good. Our waiter was pretty attentive. Overall, I had a positive dining experience but I'd probably order something different next time. read more

PHO KING AWESOME... get the #100 combo bowl! The pho here is money, I love this place. For any pho novice or pho enthusiast, this place will crush expectations. The broth is perfect, not too sweet. The beef portions are ample, and the textures are right. The tendons are tender, the meat is not dry. The noodles are slightly al dente but break apart real quick as you do the initial plunge, I like to play the game of just the tip dipping in my spoon of sriracha little by little and this alone was enough to break apart my noodles. The atmosphere is on point, feels like a typical Viet joint I am accustomed too, and there are a ton of actual Viet/Cambodian locals that dine here, aka they know whats up! The location is decently convenient if you're in the area. Saraga is closeby if you're shopping for some international groceries. The Pony is not far away if you're shopping for some lap dances. The location is pretty close off the highway if you're coming from downtown. I am taking 1 star off because there is no number in the name & there are no bottles of bleach in the bathroom, Ali Wong nailed it!
