Amazing and authentic food. Fast service. Excellent value. Interior is a bit sparse/plain, but food is the real star there.

So far is the best Pho i had in Middlesex county NJ. The broth is rich of flavor, sweet & savory. My favorite is the ox tail Pho, the tail are tender and mixed with broth is such a perfect combination. Nothing to say anymore, come and taste the Pho yourself & let me know read more

I'm just saying maybe with age, my taste has declined. Way to start a 5 star review! I only feel that way because I don't see a lot of 5 stars for this place. I do not know any Vietnamese people who can properly tell me if this is as authentic as they come or not. But this compared to all the places around here, this place is amazing. When you compare the go to dishes, spring roll, pancake, Pho, and the Buns, this place just stands out. The grilled porks and shrimps have an amazing char taste to them. Everything taste fresh. And we get a lot of everything when we go. So normally I can get the itis but this doesn't feel heavy after housing everything down. The one thing I did notice that makes me give this a 5 star is the fact that I didn't use much of the condiments for the main meals. I actually thought everything was so satisfying that I wanted to taste it as is. Most of us when we get a bowl of Pho, whether you as an enthusiast wants to admit it or not, we all have our own regimen on how to make it better. Adding hoisin, more mint, more bean sprouts, some chili, whatever. Point is, when we do that, it's because it's not to our liking. Cray part, i feel as i would ruin it by adding to it. read more

This is an affordable Pho restaurant. There's several options on the menu and the service is good. The food came out prepared fresh and fast. The restaurant is spacious and has a lot of seating with great lighting (to my surprise). I visited during the week for lunch and it was pretty empty for a place right on a busy highway. Will be back. read more

This WAS my go-to pho restaurant but after finding bugs in every meal I've had here, I will no longer be going here. When I ordered take out, I found a dead gnat in the vegetables. When I ate in the restaurant, I found a dead spider in my summer roll. I bit into the summer roll and luckily I saw the black spider and stopped eating. When I showed the waiter he just asked if I wanted a new one. He didn't seem surprised!!! This means it happens all the time! I will not be eating here again. If you want to eat bugs then eat here. read more

Easily accessible from the Parkway and only Vietnamese restaurant in the area without having to drive up to Linden or down to Edison. We had the P1 (w/ filet mignon & ox-tail) and P3. The filet mignon and ox-tail meat was very tender, and there was a generous portion of noodles. Broth was flavorful, maybe a bit on the saltier side but good. The restaurant space is large, clean, and modern. Customer-Service-wise, we went on a weekday night so it wasn't crazy busy but the restaurant was 60% full and everything was fine. Since they're brand new, I'd be easy on them anyway. I saw the owner with another table who was new to Vietnamese food and he took the time to explain the menu, teach them how to eat the dishes, and check in with them - I appreciated seeing that customer service. read more

This is probably the best and most consistent Vietnamese food in Jersey. This beats out even many Vietnamese spots in Manhattan. The service is super fast and they have an extensive menu. Can't go wrong with this spot off 1&9. I recommend the Banh Khot (shrimp pancake) and the Pho read more

What? Why is there so much black pepper preadded to my pho? First, the Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk. It comes pre made, which is the norm post covid, but it wasted bitter and fruity. Ive gotten it in all my Vietnamese restaurant visits, wasn't a fan. Fried spring rolls were good. Nothing amazing. Fried well, not that thick, came with fish sauce, lettuce, and picked carrots and daikon. The pho... Or wasn't bad, but WTF. What's it come with so much black pepper pre added. This is the first place where I've seen it added before served. Or was way too much. Did not enjoy it, otherwise it would've been okay. Soup was okay. Meat was good. Noodles al dented. read more

Back again, caveat! It gets crazy crowded on weekends during lunch hours. I have to go for a very late lunch so I could have a seat. What a wonderful find! My husband and I were visiting from out of town and were craving Vietnamese food and we are so happy we found this place! The parking lot is a bit small and access to it comes off a busy street; thankfully the sign for the restaurant is huge or you would miss it, but if you've never been there, it's an easy miss and you would have to do a large square to come back to it unfortunately. We were dropped off by an Uber so it wasn't too much of a problem for us. The restaurant itself is bright and spacious. It wasn't particularly "homey" but it also wasn't uninviting either. It was an open and clean environment. Service was quick and our food came out at a reasonable time. Each item we tried was delicious and portions were great! We didn't finish our main entrees, but I always like having enough to take home for the next day. The pork chop in the com tam (pictured) was marinated nicely and the texture was great. I wasn't a fan of the egg quiche that came with it, but it wasn't that bad. The banh beo was a bit thick for me, but I did like the chewiness of it. The rau ma/pennyworth (not pictured) was too sweet for me -- it tasted like it was mostly sugar and not enough of the actual pennyworth. I didn't confirm this with the staff but I believe the boba served is powdered, not actual fruit. It was okay quality but I prefer the actual fruit version. Overall I really enjoyed the place and would recommend it to others. I would definitely visit again when we are in town in the future. read more

Omg can't say enough about this place. The food is outstanding. I ordered the pork chop broken rice and my wife the steak and broken rice. Kids ordered bahn mi steak sandwich and beef stew with rice noodle. The steaks and porkchop were so nicely charbroiled had a nice Smokey taste like a open charcoal grill and the soup noodle broth was something grandma makes so tasty and delicious. The portions are well worth the prices. Service and store all great and clean. All around a great place to eat viet food. Will be a regular Yummy read more

Definitely a go to in NJ for good pho! So glad I tried them as I was missing my pho being from another state and having my go to pho spots.

I've been on the hunt for a new, fast/casual Vietnamese restaurant nearby and have driven past Pho One on the way to Menlo Park Mall for months. I'm so glad I finally took the chance to give it a try! I came here with my mom for lunch. Upon walking in, I was glad to see a brightly lit, clean establishment, but I got a little worried because there were only two other parties dining there. We both ordered an avocado shake, which I thought to be a little too sweet for my liking, but good on the avocado flavor! I ordered the P3, which was the pho with raw steak, well-done flank, and brisket. I was a little concerned about what my mom would eat, being that she's a vegetarian, but I was pleasantly surprised to see all the veggie options on the menu! She ended up ordering the vegetarian pho, which was packed with lots of veggies and noodles (duh). Both phos were really good for their value. I was only to eat half of mine (I ordered the XL) and save the other half for dinner. My mom did the same thing with hers (she ordered a L). Overall, the food was good for the value and the place is clean. I recommend coming here! I wish we had room for dessert, as the ones on the menu in the fridge under the counter looked really good, but I'll take it as an excuse to come another time :) read more

A great go to for Vietnamese food. We a papaya salad and a sweet and sour chicken appetizer, both flavorful. Service was efficient. The restaurant was clean and spacious. Restrooms well maintained. Will go back. read more

Decent Vietnamese food in Central Jersey. Whenever a new Viet restaurant pops up in the area, I like to check it out. My first experience was with takeout and I ordered a Bo Bun Hue (B14), a Vermicelli with spring rolls (B12), a vermicelli with grilled pork (B2), and a Bahn Mi (BM4). The Bo Bun Hue ingredients and soup were separated in different containers . The soup tasted fine but it definitely was lacking the heat that I love about the dish (it was mild). It seems like the noodle was similar to pho noodles instead of the spaghetti like noodles I am used to at other places. I also wasn't a fan of the beef blood cube(?), as I prefer not to eat that. The vermicelli dishes were good. The pork has a nice grilled taste and marinade. The spring rolls were decent. The pickled vegetables accompanying the vermicelli dishes and Bahn mi could be pickled a lot more . They tasted more like regular veggies to me. The Bahn Mi,however, still tasted good overall. The bread, ham, pate, and veggies/jalepeno tasted good together. Not deterred by my first experience, I dragged my family to dine at the actual restaurant, and we had a better experience! It's located slightly north or Menlo Park mall on a strip mall off of a busy Rt 1S. I would stay on the right lane once you pass the GSP overpass or else you may miss the entrance. This time my family tried a the P4 Pho, C6 Rice, C2 rice and the B2 vermicelli again. I liked the C2 rice and thought it was delicious. My other daughter had the C6 and loved the fried tofu. Both my kids really liked the broken rice and prefer it over regular rice now. The portions were good and prices were reasonable. I got to try the Pho and thought it was good. Pho One is a fairly large restaurant. It serves the traditional Pho noodle soup in familiar varieties. In addition, have a variety of clear noodle and egg noodle soups that I don't recall seeing elsewhere. There are also apps, rice dishes, bahn mi, Vietnamese coffee (hot and cold), bubble tea and even dessert! For my vegetarian yelpers, there is an entire page of vegetarian items. My table had attentive service. At the time, the restaurant was not full but there were other patrons. After a couple of visits, I think Pho one is a good Vietnamese restaurant. I'm sure I'll will be back as winter is coming and I'll be needing some hot noodle soup to warm me up. read more

I eat a lot of pho. When I'm hungover, I immediately (as fast as a hungover person immediately does anything) march over to my nearest pho shop and devour a steaming hot bowl. I've had pho in Boston, Cambridge, SF, Little Saigon, LA, NYC, fuck even the Midwest. I could go on. There are more cities. The point is, I absolutely crush pho. Solo pho. Side plate. Lime in the soup. Dip the meat in the trifecta of sauces. The whole thing. And this place is way better than you would expect for a spot that opened along Route 1 in New Jersey. It's right outside Menlo Park Terrace. I wish I had this growing up as a kid. I will be back anytime I'm home. Get the pho here. The large is pretty big, but if you're huuuuuungry get the XL. read more

The best Vietnamese restaurant in Union or Middlesex counties! Their grilled pork with broken rice is both the best I have had in NJ or Manhattan and a steal at $9.95. so... been wanting to try this place as i drive by on my way to mountain biking but it didnt start out well as we sat and waited and waited and wondered if we were supposed to order at the counter. the spring roll was delicious, peferctly packed with cucumbers, lettuce rice and shrimp and the dipping sauce tasty without going overboard. I will never ever return to Pho One. The food was good, but I was treated with severe disrespect by a man who I believe is the owner--possibly because I was a woman eating alone. I had been quiet during dinner, had left a big tip and was sitting looking at my phone when this man told me to leave. When I asked why, he said that diners like booths. I pointed out that there were many free tables, including 2 booths other than my own, and that there was nobody waiting to be seated. He continued to be rude, so I left. I cannot support a restaurant where customers are treated this way. read more
