P1 the pho in hot stone bowl. This js 5 stars given it has 2 big oxtails 1 to 2 short ribs and beef tripes, raw beef slides and flank (not overcooked or dry) it's about $25 and really enough fpr 2 people. I tried crabmeat noodles, i was very disappointed. After almost 2 hours ride i had high hope to try it. The broth itself is very bland, i don't see crab meat so probably mixed into the pork meatballs. Very little crab flavor nor shrimps paste flavor. The meatballs with crab are very dry, shrimp balls also very dry and tough (definitely not made by only shrimp). There are also small cubes of dry tofu in the bowl, tomatoes, and Vietnamese spam. I ate about 1/4 of it. Fried egg roll doesn't have much pork and don't have wood ears. Seems like it's filled with noodles taro... not the traditional egg roll i prefer. Other dishes like rare beed pho and P2 had good feedback from my family. Finally the steam rice roll is good, i only had 1/2 pieces and it's gone. I order #P2 Pho (Beef brisket, tendons, tripe). The soup is tasty. Usually most places have a big bowl of pho but mainly just soup and very little of anything else. Not this place. I started hitting the gym again. On my first day after my two hour workout, I went home and ate a salad. After running errands in the area, it was lunchtime and I needed some pho for this cold day. My husband mentioned that this was his go-to Viet place back in his college days so we stopped in on a Saturday at around 1 PM. To start, we ordered the classic banh mi. It was a pretty solid banh mi for a restaurant, because they're usually hit or miss. The bread was fresh and lightly toasted. Normally, we would have ordered spring rolls but I saw they use regular spring roll paper instead of rice paper (IMO, the easy way out, especially since you can make these ahead). For my main I ordered the combo pho. Maybe I ordered the wrong one but I thought it would come with some rare beef, which it didn't. Other than that, the broth was good, which is the most important part of a pho. Hubby had the grilled pork chop with shredded pork, egg patty, and egg on white rice. The pork chop was really good. Even though it was thin, which can be easy to overcook, it was perfect here. Next time, I think I'll try the tiny rice noodle dishes or cold vermicelli bowls. read more

Myself into friends were hungry for lunch on a Monday and we were debating getting Ramen or pho and we're happy we went with pho because Pho Ahn Dao was a great place to stop in at. Excellent Vietnamese cfe right off of Route 1 in Edsion with all of the classics perfectly executed. The pho both is fantastic - light and flavorful without any extra salt - and the bun rieu is superb. We also tried the grilled pork chop platter and grilled pork banh mi - both were delicious with nicely seasoned meat accompanied by a blend of toppings that gave the dishes a good texture variety. We decided to come here one night after work and were immediately seated after checking in. It's been a while since we were last here and hubs wanted to come back here. I had the (D1) Thai tea and thought that it was sweet and delicious. We ordered the (A14) Steam Rice Rolls with ground pork, mushrooms and vegetables . Daughter loved it and thought it was delicious. The bologna was her favorite. Hubs liked it and thought it was nice that it was available. Some Vietnamese restaurants only offer this entree on weekends. It was fresh and not microwaved like other places. I had (X4) braised catfish , salmon or shrimp in claypot. The salmon was a little overcooked and we wished it was catfish instead. We didn't know if we got a choice in picking the protein and the server didn't ask us. So, we ate what they served. Next, daughter ordered (R4) rice with grilled pork chop, with shredded pork, egg patty and egg. She liked it and said that this is her go to meal. The egg patty was top notch as always. Lastly, hubs ordered (S2) rice vermicelli soup with crab meat in tomato soup paste. He said remembered liking this in the past and was pleasantly surprised that he saw this on the menu. I had beef cubes with rice, that is my favorite food here. The desert with Toro and sticky rice was awesome, I strongly recommend.
