Well, everything went well. The better half and I ordered buon cuon which is her absolute favorite along with the sweet potato and shrimp fritters. The server explained to us about picking them up with the lettuce and herbs and the Nuoc Cham. It was great. Then the proprietor(?) came out of the kitchen and started talking to us and explained the buon cuon is from the North. The better half added her other favorite dish pho ap chao is from the North. We then had a lengthy discussion on how to fry the noodles and heard another explanation about why the dish isn't super popular. It's our favorite conspiracy. Anyhow the food is amazing, fresh, beautifully prepared and flavorful. There are lots of fresh herbs, pickled daikon and carrot and some cucumber. We also got the family style dinner take out since we knew we We're up against a long day. This is just one of our favorite places. Amazing food, super friendly people who are excited to share a bit of their food and culture. What's not to love? read more

My family and I came here for dinner, place is a decent size over all clean. Service was great very attentive! PHO was good very flavorful BUT portion was so small for the price! The biggest complaint I have is their SUGAR CANE JUICE should never be offered on the menu, I love sugar cane and have had many THIS WASN'T IT tastes like WATER...very disappointed. I got it to go and drank it when I left. Good place to try, but I wouldn't come back here. read more

P1 the pho in hot stone bowl. This js 5 stars given it has 2 big oxtails 1 to 2 short ribs and beef tripes, raw beef slides and flank (not overcooked or dry) it's about $25 and really enough fpr 2 people. I tried crabmeat noodles, i was very disappointed. After almost 2 hours ride i had high hope to try it. The broth itself is very bland, i don't see crab meat so probably mixed into the pork meatballs. Very little crab flavor nor shrimps paste flavor. The meatballs with crab are very dry, shrimp balls also very dry and tough (definitely not made by only shrimp). There are also small cubes of dry tofu in the bowl, tomatoes, and Vietnamese spam. I ate about 1/4 of it. Fried egg roll doesn't have much pork and don't have wood ears. Seems like it's filled with noodles taro... not the traditional egg roll i prefer. Other dishes like rare beed pho and P2 had good feedback from my family. Finally the steam rice roll is good, i only had 1/2 pieces and it's gone. Not to mention i love their Vietnamese coffee and durian milkshake! The restaurant is spacious and clean. Service is good and parking is easy. read more

I have been trying pho around the Edison area and the food here is okay but the service is terrible. I went twice and both times, the service was awful. The older gentleman (maybe the owner) doesn't do any work and waits for the younger wait staff, even though he's just standing there? I had to ask multiple times for the same thing; an extra bowl, container to pack my food and the check. It's like they don't know the order of operation. I tried to give it a second chance and went again but they ended up giving me the check, when I wasn't ready, and cleaning up the table when one guest was still eating. I wouldn't come here again read more

If you haven't tried this place.....you're missing out! The restaurant is in a strip mall alongside ShopRite. If you aren't looking for this place. You can drive right past it. I order #P2 Pho (Beef brisket, tendons, tripe). The soup is tasty. Usually most places have a big bowl of pho but mainly just soup and very little of anything else. Not this place. They jammed pack the whole bowl with stuff. I loved that they served the freshest ingredients. I would have to say this is probably the best Pho in Jersey! If you're in the area and wanna try a new place out. Give this place a try read more

This is, hands down, the best Pho I have ever had in my life. Doesn't matter how far the commute, you have to go! My new fav pho spot in NJ. Huge portions. Quality ingredients. Delicious pho broth. Fast friendly service. It was so good that we ate here two days in a row. Really love their p1 and p2 pho as well as their crab meat noodle soup. We also tried their appetizer samplers which was so good. It came with grilled pork skewers, fried egg rolls, shrimp wontons, summer rolls, and some beef wrapped in a veggie. Def worth it. I can't wait to go back. read more

Dinner for four on a Tuesday night. Started w some chicken wings, tasty and freshly fried - too hot to hold. Then two beef phos, one vermicelli with egg rolls and a banh mi sandwich with roast pork and a ethnic dish which was water spinach w bots of tofu. And finally a crepe with shrimp and veg. Fresh veg, right temps, attentive service and a pitcher of water. Fresh basil, cilantro was good too. Nice place, parking inside a strip of stores w a ShopRite. Easy to get to, will come back read more

I started hitting the gym again. On my first day after my two hour workout, I went home and ate a salad. While working out on my second day all I could think about is FOOD and what I should eat afterwards. I am not big on pho but it was what I was craving. Disappointed that my favorite spot is closed on Tuesdays I decided to check this place out. Here is what I ordered: - fresh lemonade with club soda - deep fried Vietnamese egg rolls - pho with meatballs For me it's all about the broth and the texture of the noodles. It was a 10/10!I inhaled my bowl. A fricken salad after a workout just doesn't cut it. Boss Lady was very hospitable, attentive and came by our table numerous times to ask how we were enjoying our meal. Will definitely return. Plenty of parking. read more

Pho Anh Dao has always been a college staple, serving up hot bowls of pho that hit the spot. This time, we tried their BBQ pork and spring rolls on vermicelli noodles (bun thut nuong). After running errands in the area, it was lunchtime and I needed some pho for this cold day. My husband mentioned that this was his go-to Viet place back in his college days so we stopped in on a Saturday at around 1 PM. To start, we ordered the classic banh mi. It was a pretty solid banh mi for a restaurant, because they're usually hit or miss. The bread was fresh and lightly toasted. Normally, we would have ordered spring rolls but I saw they use regular spring roll paper instead of rice paper (IMO, the easy way out, especially since you can make these ahead). For my main I ordered the combo pho. Maybe I ordered the wrong one but I thought it would come with some rare beef, which it didn't. Other than that, the broth was good, which is the most important part of a pho. Hubby had the grilled pork chop with shredded pork, egg patty, and egg on white rice. The pork chop was really good. Even though it was thin, which can be easy to overcook, it was perfect here. Next time, I think I'll try the tiny rice noodle dishes or cold vermicelli bowls. read more

Honestly not going again. As a Vietnamese the food was not good we tried 3 dishes and all of them were unpleasant! The broth tasted like salt and water and the meat would not chew. The service was okay they gave a huge table for a small group of 3. It cost us 80 bucks for 3 small plates. It costs more to pay with card. Not again! read more

Loved this place! As someone who's Vietnamese, I am a bit picky with my Vietnamese restaurants but this place was amazing! From the service, to the food, to the ambience, it was a very welcoming restaurant with great food. The bun rieu I had was really good as well as the durian smoothie. My bf had a bowl of pho (not pictured) which was also really good and flavorful. Would definitely recommend checking this place out if you're in the area. We'll definitely be back! read more

Myself into friends were hungry for lunch on a Monday and we were debating getting Ramen or pho and we're happy we went with pho because Pho Ahn Dao was a great place to stop in at. The service was friendly and helpful. The restaurant itself was clean and inviting into the point with good calming music. The food itself was exactly what we wanted and needed. It was hot delicious and savory. It was my friends first time having fun and she absolutely loved it. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone who's interested in a nice Vietnamese meal in the area! read more

TLDR: great quality food, but service can be a bit slow and prices are high for pho Pho Anh Dao has always had one of my favorite broths in the area. It's light, flavorful, and not too salty. The toppings (meat) are ok. The grilled pork chop add on is a steal. $5 for a fragrant, flavorful piece of pork. The food has gotten pretty expensive (as many places have). I'll be back on a chilly day. read more

Excellent Vietnamese cfe right off of Route 1 in Edsion with all of the classics perfectly executed. The pho both is fantastic - light and flavorful without any extra salt - and the bun rieu is superb. We also tried the grilled pork chop platter and grilled pork banh mi - both were delicious with nicely seasoned meat accompanied by a blend of toppings that gave the dishes a good texture variety. Prices are very reasonable and portions are solid. Definitely worth a visit! read more

We decided to come here one night after work and were immediately seated after checking in. It's been a while since we were last here and hubs wanted to come back here. I had the (D1) Thai tea and thought that it was sweet and delicious. We ordered the (A14) Steam Rice Rolls with ground pork, mushrooms and vegetables . Daughter loved it and thought it was delicious. The bologna was her favorite. Hubs liked it and thought it was nice that it was available. Some Vietnamese restaurants only offer this entree on weekends. It was fresh and not microwaved like other places. I had (X4) braised catfish , salmon or shrimp in claypot. The salmon was a little overcooked and we wished it was catfish instead. We didn't know if we got a choice in picking the protein and the server didn't ask us. So, we ate what they served. Next, daughter ordered (R4) rice with grilled pork chop, with shredded pork, egg patty and egg. She liked it and said that this is her go to meal. The egg patty was top notch as always. Lastly, hubs ordered (S2) rice vermicelli soup with crab meat in tomato soup paste. He said remembered liking this in the past and was pleasantly surprised that he saw this on the menu. He thought this ok. Service was quick and friendly. Will come back again to try other items on the menu. read more

You might think at first this place is sub-pat because it's located in a strip mall, but that couldn't be more wrong. The food here is absolutely delicious. I ordered number (59) and I substituted the pork chop for grilled chicken. I'm trying to be more healthy lol, how else can I lose weight to eat more right? Well anyways my order was BOMB.COM. The grilled chicken was juicy, everything was hot, the egg was made perfectly, and fish sauce on top sealed the deal. The service was great, food came out I'm under 10 minutes. The waitress was very accommodating and checked in with us regularly. Anything we needed she provided. The bill came out to less than $30. My sister ordered a shrimp PHO and she really liked it too. I really reccomend you guys come check this place out. read more

Good food. We have been coming here couple times in the past. They have good Vietnamese food. We enjoyed spring rolls which come with lettuce to wrap. They have good pho noodles. I had beef cubes with rice, that is my favorite food here. The desert with Toro and sticky rice was awesome, I strongly recommend. I recommend for anyone looking for a good Vietnamese food in the area. I will go back again in another couple more months. Pho noodle is good for cold rainy day. The service is quick and good.
