Fresh, clean, and kind! Stumbled upon this place with a friend and we were both craving sushi. This definitely satisfied that craving! The place was extremely clean and the staff was great with all the questions we had and checking in on us throughout the meal. All the rolls and poke bowls we got were fresh and so tasty! You can see the marbling on the salmon, the veggies and fruits were fresh and at perfect ripeness. The portions were very filling, and there is a ton of space for seating! I love it here, the food is always very tasty and good quality with fair portion sizes. The people working are always so kind and a pleasure to see. The fat cups are my favorite as well as the kani salad. My sister loved the ramen as well. The California bowl is good too and I love their white peach ice tea. This place has been my favorite takeout spot since it was called Edo Sushi & Takeout. It's better for takeout I think, but that's because it's a cozy shop in a strip mall so there are about 6-8 tables in the whole place. The fat cups are a fantastic deal for the amount of food they put in them, and the spicy pork has been my go-to for YEARS. Even after I moved and stopped coming super regularly, the staff still remember my name when I pick up my orders. Edison has a lot of hidden gems, but this little Korean/Japanese fusion place is genuinely one of the town's best kept secrets. read more

This restaurant took over the previous business and the location of Edo Takeout. Staff: The waitress was friendly and was knowledgeable about their menu items. Cleanliness: The restaurant was clean, and no garbage was seen visible to us. Shoyu Ramen: The noodles were cooked to perfection and had just the right amount of taste. Takoyaki: It has a lot of dough but barely and squid inside, so this was not worth the money. Hwe-Dup-Bap Bowl: This was delicious to my friend, and he used a lot of hot sauce on top of it because he loves the spice. Pepper Tuna: This was presentable and tasted delicious that my friend devoured all of it in seconds. Overall: The food here was OK and isn't like how it used to be when it was the previous restaurant. I came back with my laboratory friends this time to eat inside the restaurant . We all wore our mask until it was time to eat . I got a Korean poke bowl which wasn't too spicy but had the right flavors . The rice was perfectly sticky, the fish was fresh . (I was super full that night I slept well !) Love this little Japanese-Korean fusion restaurant. Came in today to pick up a DoorDash order, and decided to order myself a Boba Tea while waiting. Ordered a Coffee Milk Tea 50% sugar, light ice, with extra boba! Delish, trendy branding (see pic). The order I was picking up and my tea were done at the same time, and I was quickly in and out. I was starving at work the other day and found myself without any packed lunch. I rarely go out for lunch wanted something really yummy. Edo Takeout is nearby so, so I ordered a tofu teriyaki fat cup with spring rolls and vegetable gyoza and sushi (avo cuke roll, tofu tempura roll, sweet potato roll). The fat cup was more like a bowl (not complaining) (I had the leftovers for dinner, would've been better fresh but w/e). The teriyaki tofu fat cup was soooo good. Big chunks of sorta soft tofu (I personally love the taste of tofu) fried along with flat spring rolls and veg gyozas along with cabbage (?? Whatever vegetable it was, it fit in so well and tasted so good in combination with all the deliciously heavy fried things) and teriyaki sauce. My only little complaint might've been that I'd like more teriyaki sauce (I'm a sauce fiend and always like lots of sauce, but maybe more sauce would've made it taste soggy, so maybe good call with light on the sauce). Next time I decided to splurge on lunch, I'll deeefinitely come back (and maybe just get one roll on the side lol). read more

So first things first YELP needs to fix the time for this business. It actually closes at 9:30 PM on a Friday night. Okay, so the food here is good. My friend and I got a fat cup and a bulgogi fries to share. The portion was huge! It was enough for three people. The food was yummy as any other edo take out. Good for lunch because they have some options to select from. The thing that makes me love this place is the customer service. Edo Takeout is this great sushi/fusion bowl type of place and I'm so happy they opened one in Edison closer to me. First off the food is delicious. Last time I went with my brother and we got fat bowls and a roll. The fat bowls are an enormous portion for a good price. Both the bulgogi and spicy pork meats were very tasty and tender. Easily split into 2 meals (I don't eat too much but my brother eats a lot and he still had some left over). The sushi rolls are good as well although a little pricey in my opinion. I got takeout today, got my brother a fat cup and i tried their Korean style poke bowl because I was in the mood for sashimi! It was really good and filling, and the fish was fresh. The spicy Korean sauce was delicious and I like my spice! They also have bubble tea and noodles but I haven't tried either of these. It's located in a plaza off Lincoln, pretty convenient, and the space is small but very nice. There's a takeout area and some tables, all very clean and cute. One downside I will say is their service is a little slow from what I remember when I ate in. But that means they're taking time to make your food fresh! And besides it's called edo TAKEOUT so with takeout that's not a problem :p took about 15-20 minutes! TLDR: fat cups and bowls are great, good for takeout! read more

The name is a bit misleading as there are a few tables to sit at which is great. A fairly small and cozy little spot in Edison that's known for their "Fat Cups," which includes rice, choice of meat, and additional toppings like egg or chicken fingers. Decided I had to get it and was surprised by how big the portion size is. Extremely filling and the meat is well seasoned. The only issue was that it definitely has a lot of rice, so if you eat all the meat and toppings off the top, you're just left with a pile of rice. I wish I had gotten extra meat on top (which they do offer for extra $), but for what it was it was definitely tasty. Overall not a bad spot to go to if you want a quick bite! read more

One of my go-to spots for Korean comfort food when I was in college! I usually get the fat cups, which are "chipotle style" in that you can choose your choice of protein and toppings over rice. My usual order is a fat cup with spicy pork, fire sticks (fried battered imitation crab sticks), shrimp tempura, and crunchy shogun flakes sprinkled on top. I am guilty of also taking this home and adding my own fried egg, chopped scallions, and seaweed flakes to further elevate my bowl. I've only experienced ordering take out from here twice but here is my assessment so far. I've only had their fat cups which as others have said is quite large and a decent deal for what you're getting. I have tried the bulgogi and spicy pork which I have to say is kind lacking in flavor for both for me. It's not bad but just eh forgettable. Their fried tempura was better in my opinion. Fried vegetable gyoza was okay too but the shrimp tempura was better. Fried egg was done well with yolk still runny if you like it that way. I'll have to try their other menu items but as of now for what I've tried, the food is kinda lack luster but a good deal for when you're hungry. read more

Good indoor dining experience during May 2021 of the great Covfefe-19 period. Clean and comfortable seating. Very good sushi--fresh and beautifully plated on a heavy ceramic dish with all the fixings. The only small disappointment was the tea--it should be served in a teapot with a real ceramic cup or at least a mug, with plenty of choices of sweetener. I'm sure in some countries people drink their tea straight, but here in New Jersey we like choices! The tea here is served in a paper cup--but they get points for narrowing their carbon footprint by not using styrofoam (ew!). So overall they get high marks and from the number of customers I can tell they already have quite a following. You need-oh a little Edo! read more

I've ordered takeout from here two times and both times I was satisfied with what I purchased. I ordered the big cup both times and both times the portions were able to cure my hunger. A big cup is just like a pokebowl only you can't choose a dressing for the bowl. Needless to say I would recommend this place! read more

Worst bubble tea I have ever had. I know its not the main part of this restaurant but if you provide the service you must meet the customers requirement. This bubble tea looked like concentrated syrup after 10 mins and tastes like i am drinking orange guess with some old rotten tapioca. Extremely disappointed with awful bland service. Advice remove the bubble tea so customers won't be disappointed and actually go to place that specialize in this. MI tea or mango mango 10 mins on 27th is way more worth it than this 7 eleven brand bubble tea read more

Two things. It's clean, portion size are huge and the music is on point. It's Korean owned Japanese Asian fusion. The prices are reasonable and you will be full. I got the fi-yah bowl and it was spicy fried chicken goodness in the red sauce. It's order and then seat yourself so it's super casual. Definitely will be back to try the musubi and edo fries. Ate a protein bowl the other day and im expecting a huge amount of sashimi slices with rice but instead i got a five pieces of cubes of salmon and five pieces of of tuna with avocado ans veggies. Bowl also "almost fill with sushi rice" with really dissapointment. I would called it a carb bowl. Terrible! I ordered from them on uber eats. I ordered spicy ramen and a spicy tuna roll. The spicy ramen bowl came and it was not even halfway full. I received one (1) piece of pork that was not even half the size of my palm, one(1) crabstick broken in half, and a few shredded carrots, with very few noodles. Let's also talk about the broth, it did NOT taste like miso broth and there was so much chili oil floating on top I couldn't taste anything else. The spicy tuna roll was equally as bad. There was one tiny square of tuna in each roll with what seems to be spicy mayo on top and the rice was HARD. Maybe if you sit and eat there the food is better but I know I will never order from them again. read more
