I didn't even know this place existed and I drove by this area every so often. I saw this place through Yelp and it had decent reviews so I decided to drop by. I haven't eaten at the restaurant yet and have only taken my orders out. The decor is a bit outdated but it's quite spacious and clean inside. There's a wide screen TV on the far wall. I came in previously and they had the Oscars on and today was Nancy Reagan's Funeral. The staff is very friendly. I was surprised when I came in and the woman remembered who I was since it has been weeks between my last visit. I was impressed. They seem to be on top of their service. Although I took my order "to-go", I was given a glass of ice water while I waited. I thought it was a nice and unexpected touch. Every so often one of the staff members would come out and let me know that my order will be ready soon. They were quite packed during lunch time. Now to the Food... I'm not big fan of Pho in general but their broth seems to have just the right flavor that I may consider ordering Pho next time I come to dine in. I had ordered Pho with a mix of meats previously for my Beau and he loved it. I had the grilled pork vermicelli and that was delicious. However I found their noodles a bit too overcooked. That didn't deter me from eating away though. Today I had the 3 bean drink, which was not too bad.. and I had ordered their short ribs over rice. The ribs were delicious! The rice was a bit smooshy for my taste. It didn't matter because I don't eat much rice. There was a side salad and soup (broth) included with my meal as well. I was definitely stuffed! The price of their menu items are actually a bit cheaper than other Pho places. That's an added plus! I'll definitely be back here whenever I'm in the area! Can't beat their prices! Thanks Ken L and Mya for the reviews and check-ins. Finally got to Kent and had to try this place out. Wow, beyond pleased and satisfied! The pho broth was hot (that's important), seasoned well and not too salty, nor too much star - anise nor too sweet. Just pure deliciousness. The combo had the steak, fatty flank, tripe, tendon and meatballs. Love that they include meatballs whereas every other pho restaurants charge extra for that. Now, that combo rice place, C01, is just BOMB! Tasty, tasty, tasty. The meat, pork chop, egg and THAT SHRIMP CAKE is so filling and fulfilling. I could eat that every single week for a long time. Too bad I don't live near this restaurant. However, I will find way back here as frequently as possible. Oh, can't forget their fried rolls. One of the best in King county. At least for me it is. Lastly, the customer service here is superb. That male waiter(you know who, the one always smiling) is so friendly and welcoming that you just smile looking at him. My family and I love a good bowl of pho. Having been to countless pho restaurants, I would like to assume we have had our share of good and bad pho. Firstly, the location of this restaurant is great. My daughter plays at the Riverbend Golf Course right down the street. We decided to check this place out via Yelp. What a disappointment. We came in the afternoon of a Saturday and they were quite busy. The gentleman who sat and took our order was very nice and attentive. It took over twenty minutes for us to get our pho... No biggie... However, this is where my issue lies. The man at the counter, clearly the owner of the restaurant, was yelling at his employees. I saw he was barking orders and yelling at the Hispanic lady and man clearing the tables... Seriously? The pho was bland! Yuck... We had to squirt plenty of Sriracha and oyster sauce in our pho. We ordered the large brisket pho and it was one of the blandest, underwhelming bowls of pho we tasted. The noodles were also undercooked. Honesty, either drive a little south or north for better pho. Also, the owner is clearly a hot headed jerk who cannot contain his over controlling ways in front of his own damn customers. read more

Stopped eating here for awhile since last time I was in the pho broth grossed me out. Anyway decided to give this place another try since I was really craving pho! First off the man taking down the food orders waited about 10 minutes to hand me a menu. Took a quick minute to decided what I wanted and could not flag this man down for my order. Mind you this place was not packed at all! As I was waiting for my food another family walked in. The man taking down orders seemed to know the family and proceeded to carry on a conversation with them. This place have the worst costumer service ever... It was a busy day for me my mom and my son we were so hungry and were looking for a decent place to eat. Went in to get a good service and a great meal and got nothing but disappointed we order and when our food arrived everything look good but I had to ask the waiter to get me my veggies that come with the pho soup it wasn't a big deal as I know that sometimes because you're busy you kind of forget a few things but he didn't even brought us spoons or a fork for my mom. When my mom try the fried rice that she order it tasted old and uncooked I told the waiter and he got mad he started questioning me why she didn't want it and even told me that they couldn't change it or take it back because she had eat a lot when she had only try a bit of it. I told him that I was gonna pay regardless but to just take it away cuz it was a waste he left and never came back to ask if they could fix the problem. To finish with a golden medal my sons spoon had a hair on it and when I try to get his attention he just ignored me. Honestly the worst/weirdest pho I've ever had. Very bland, and when I tried to doctor it up it just got worse. Tasted very off. Hard to put my finger on the taste, but it was very strange and lackluster. I've eaten at around 30 different pho restaurants, including several in Vietnam and this was the strangest by far. Their bun bo hue was also mediocre at best. Not even a hint of lemongrass flavor which is a necessity. I hate hating on pho, but in this instance I'm not sure what else to do. As usual I ordered the Bun with pork, egg roll and shrimp. Got a very large bowl with a small portion. Didn't fill even half the bowl. Pithy portion aside, I was hoping the flavor would make up for the meager portion. Pho-get that. Didn't know Bun could be so bland. Even the fish sauce tasted watered down. Shrimp was at least NOT in the shell, but it tasted like rubber, wish now it had also NOT been in the bowl. Pork likewise was over cooked, burnt tasting. Egg roll likewise was hard and bland. Even let it soak in the bottom of the bowl hoping the fish sauce, hoisin and Sriracha would salvage either the taste or the texture, pho-get that as well. Props or good service, clean restroom. Didn't care for the lay out. Felt like a cafeteria. All identical tables and chairs. I'm a booth guy myself. This is the first time we've been to this restaurant. We ordered 2 steak pho's and 1 pho with steak and tripe to go. When we dropped off my daughter we couldn't tell what pho was what. They weren't identified at all. Nobody likes tripe but me so I had to open the boxes and noticed that they covered it with cilantro (which I hate!)Plus when we went to give her the vegetables and condiments they were all in one bag. So we gave her all of them instead of pulling everything out. Plus I had to wash the cilantro off my steak. Ugh! For starters. The pho was good for being in Kent. The spring rolls were the same. Customer service was good as well. Getting a bottle of water threw me off but I'm okay with it. The lower valley of Kent/Auburn lacks good Vietnamese food, Pho Mau fills that void. Though it's in an unknown strip mall, it's worth the visit if you're in need of some warm Pho broth on a cold day or to cure a solid hangover. I haven't had anything else on their menu to comment but their pho broth is pretty legit. No MSG added and all made from scratch. You can taste the quality of the broth. I wasn't a big fan of their pho broth - it was VERY bland. I had to add a bunch of condiments in it so it could actually be edible. I ordered a medium-sized pho bowl, which it should've been advertised as a small. You have to ask for sugar and chili oil as they don't keep those condiments out at the tables. The peanut sauce for the spring rolls had a gooey type of texture and it didn't taste fresh at all. I'll give them 2 stars for the customer service because they were very nice. My boyfriend and I have been going to this pho place pretty much since they opened up. It's great that it is right down the street from our house. Walking in, the staff is very friendly and inviting. It's oddly aggressive, since every pho restaurant I go to just asks me "how many?" and "for here or to go?" They've gotten very chummy with us, calling my boyfriend "brother" and I "sweetie." We can't get over the customer service. Anyway, the pho and springrolls are good. The broth is flavorful and tastes fresh each time we go there. The springrolls themselves are huge compared to other pho places. And they are always quick to bring our food, possibly because we are "regulars" and we pretty much order the same thing each time. I thought my Pho was good but according to my co-worker who happens to be Vietnamese it was okay. The fresh spring rolls were to cold and the didn't have any pork skin or green onions in them. He explained that the noodles should not be soft and recommended that I put some of the fat that they skim off the soup as its being prepared (nouc beo) to add more flavor. Lets get pho'd up!!! I'm going to level with you, there is NOT a shortage of pho choices up here in the PNW. Finding the best one is going to be a tough job, but this is one of my top picks! I've eaten at 4 different places since I've been up here and this is the first one worthy of stars and a review. We walked in on a Friday night around 6:45 pm for dinner. We were greeted by multiple people and were seated in no time. I instantly loved that one of the family members was sitting a table cleaning the beautiful basil and watching the concert on tv. She was happy as could be and it just made my night. I loved the welcoming feeling and could tell this was a family owned and operated business. We ordered two rare steak phos and I asked for my steak on the side (I like to season and dress mine before it goes in my hot broth). The food came out so fast which was amazing and the broth knocked me off my socks with amazing flavor. The rare steak was fresh and a great portion! On top of that the veggies were all also fresh! We sat in the great business feeling like at home just chatting and sipping on our tea for we had very full bellies, there was no food to spare! Price was great, food was killer and the service was a homerun! We will be returning here in the very near future, I think I found my happy place to get pho'd up!
